@@retrotechdad I have one coming from Canada since this is still not available here in Europe. But I need it, right now is a one of a kind on the market with his big screen suitable for my use case: home streaming from PS5, Series S and PC rig. My retrogaming is NES SNES ARCADE PSP so it's good too. Slightly overpriced yes, but you pay the brand and the fact that this thing has no equals right now. Some may say Odin or other names but to me the combo big screen/no fan/no noise/no heat wins it all. If more power is needed I'd defo vouch for the Odin Pro, but it's a 6-incher with active cooling
I think the G Cloud will be perfect for my (very niche) use.
      To each his own :)

@@retrotechdad Logitech is a company that tends to set high retail prices and then discount their products deeply based on the market. So I really think this will be a lot cheaper a few months from now than it is now. That might make it worth picking up.
I enjoyed this video BTW. Combining a best games list with a performance test was a good idea.

    • @locked01
      @locked01 Год назад

I personally went for the RP3+ (smaller, waaay cheaper, just no analog triggers.. ugh) but if I wanted something bigger and with more power, especially if I lived in Europe, nothing would have beaten a Steam Deck.
As it had been said "to each his own".
I'm just a bit angry at Logitech because they could have made a better and cheaper product, selling way more. Instead they offered a mediocre product with just a few amazing sides, for double the money it's worth.
Which means that Logitech (playing it safe) is happy, a minor percentage of over the Wifi (partially retro)gamers are happy and we will possibly have some more happy people sometime in the future, when this thing will get sold at a fraction of its price, in huge bins at commercial centres.
The latter group, if they want to be happy now rather than later, have to forcibly "look East" with all the pros and cons.

I really don't understand the hate this handheld is getting. Although I love my Steam Deck, this thing is a lot more portable and handles emulation like a dream! The thing I like the most is absolutely no fan noise. I signed up for GeForce Now and now I am seriously contemplating selling my SD. If only it had video out.

Thank you for your kind comment! It really depends but if you have access to a high-end cellphone and then use a controller attachment, it will be far more powerful than any of the retro handhelds right now.
The benefit of a retro handheld is that you get a device dedicated to gaming with a built-in controller and a screen that is better suited to gaming, usually something with 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.

I'm a bit confused when it comes to the appeal of this Logitech product.
Basically, in the last few years I've seen hordes of buyers (most males but females as well) competing to grab the biggest, most high definition TVs/Monitors they could afford (and I'm keeping out of my reasoning sound bars and home theatres audio set buyers).
And now, a small, but possibly increasing, percentage of those same people, just when high definition, last gen, consoles and PC graphic cards are finally available at reasonable prices and quantities, is happy to spend another 350 nuts just for the pleasure of looking at a smaller screen with less hertz and probably, hopefully, wearing a pair of common headphones, but laying on their sofas, beds, or toilet seats....
It amazes me how this is even a thing.
Is everyone living with their TV monopolizing kids, parents or partners?
Or it's just that the COVID crisis brought to some people so much money and free time, that we got to the point that we can afford an electronic, entertainment oriented device, in each and every room?
It makes me wonder: do we really need multiple smartphones, tablets, TVs, computers, handheld consoles, smartwatches, kindles etc. etc.?
When I was younger, "consumerism" wasn't a good thing.
Nowadays, for some, possibly the vast majority, it is as much needed as breathing.

The psp games in this look great, unfortunately I don't own any psp titles and I'm a good boy that doesn't pirate. Also when using Steam I recommend using the SteamDeck interface instead of the outdated big picture mode, looks great on this device. Love my cloud,it's mainly an accessory to my gaming pc. Love it for not having to hunch over my desk, I can go anywhere with it and relax comfortably. I don't do emulation directly on it, I use Moonlight and play off my pc. Playing switch titles enhanced at 1080p on it is pretty awesome. In fact since buying the Cloud my switch has begun collecting dust and just serves as a card reader when ripping the games off onto my pc.
