Logitech, yes the mouse company, just released an Android Gaming device specifically for Cloud Gaming. BUT it turns out to be a great Emulation machine, for a price...

I suppose you could say the D-Pad is a big plus.
get out
I actually laughed out loud at that. Thank you.
🥁
Ba-boom-tsss
You didn't...
Lmao
I’m not looking to buy this or most of what Bob reviews at all, but I always find myself watching his stuff because I find his videos to be very soothing
Right?! I haven't touched my switch in months but I watch all of Bob's videos
Bob's got a great entertainer personality and his podcasts are integral to my weekly rotation, so I'm mostly here to support him
Same. I have no interest in getting a retro handheld device and yet I watch every one of his videos about them. Lol
I'm looking to buy this or most of what Bob reviews but I always find myself broke
It's his snarky sarcasm that gets me to watch all his videos, even for stuff like this that I think are stupid.
You can go into tablet mode in the settings. This lets you use it like any other android device
yeah, but with tablet mode the physical button stop to work on emulation, right? so useless
@@valentds no, the buttons still work
@@valentds gamepads work on android you can even still navigate
lol, Bob can trash half the video
@@valentds Lol, asks question and incorrectly answers it themselves. Ya got me :P
I can't forgive that "Hydeo Kojeema," Bob.
Yeah Bahb, what's up with that? Your Japanese teacher is disappointed
Seems like Bob loves to be unique at pronunciation! Meh-rio, 8bit Doo, high Dee oh Kojima
Don’t forget RetroARK
As far as i know, the english speakers have a lot of problems with how they pronounce some names, just look the Mario name, i never heard someone from that region say his name correctly except for teachers
hidey-ho kojima!
Easily my favorite hardware reviews on RUclips, incredibly thorough and honest and covers exactly what gamers want to know. Keep up the great work!
... do we need to have a talk about your 2pm slot?
Not now it’s bathroom ✨me✨ time
If it was $250 I'd think it's a much better product. You can buy the Steam Deck without waiting forever now.
People bitch too much. I bought mine for $300 and am extremely happy with it. I went with G cloud instead of Steam Deck because it's battery life is way better.
$150*
@@navygirlav2012 battery life , more comfortable, way better screen. If you only want to do cloud gaming, this is the way to go. If your a pc gamer, then yea steam, its literally the only device for that.
@@EduardoLopez-tged I'm not paying a bunch of money to play on a crappy little device when I have a nice lappy that I can take anywhere.
@@navygirlav2012 if you don;t want to pay 300 for a niche product, I completely agree with you. But its not a crappy device, its build quality and functionality at what it is designed to do is actually quite incredible. I played on my laptop (cloud gaming not pc) as well but its just not as comfortable an experience. It works..... but I don't want a solution that works, I want something that excels at gaming and this device does. I have done more cloud gaming in the week I have own this then I did for Months of having game pass. But again asking someone to shell out 300 is rough and if you don't want to, power to you.
I'm hoping that it sells well enough to make Logitech make a handheld Windows device about the same price range that can run and install Gamepass game natively.
There are devices out there, but they all either very new to the game, impossable to get shipped, or they use dirt cheap tech and charge as much as a low end Steam deck.
A native device with the backing of a company like Logitech would be an instant hit.
Underrated use case is local streaming. Very low input latency and significantly less artifacting and streaming hiccups compared to cloud streaming. I do most of my handheld gaming at home anyway so honestly I've been enjoying this more than my Steamdeck. Way nicer screen w/ 16:9 aspect ratio, Haven't even looked at my PS5 through my TV since I got it. Played the Mw2 campaign and about 15 hours of Tiny Tinas Wonderlands on it so far.
Yeah, local streaming is all I'd do with this device. But at $350, I think I'll just macgyver a tablet/controller combo.
@@RandomPlaceHolderName it’s a niche device for sure. The perceived value by the customer really hinges on whether they are already into cloud gaming to begin with. This is a devices for people already sold on cloud gaming, it’s not going to sell people on cloud gaming at $350 though.
Yep. I use it to remote play my PS5 and Xbox Series S at home. That's a I use it for and it's been amazing.
@@RandomPlaceHolderName I tried this from every angle, I have iphone 13 pro and pixel 7 , and ipad mini. I have play with razer kisi on both, controller on my ipad mini, and laptops. Honestly at the end of the day, I just didn't find myself cloud gaming (or remote play) nearly as much as I wanted. Cobbling together a janky switch lite or having to play with my tablet/laptop on the table (rather then right in front of me in my hands) just isn't great when all you want to do is play on a whim. I agreed with you about the price but after exhausting all this I said fuck it and bought it (best buy has it for 300). I LOVE this thing, i was ready to try it and maybe return it. But I am keeping it, cloud gaming is so much better on this, it loads fast, no latency, the screen is beautiful, and its the most comfortable way to hold. I play BL3 for hours on it no problem rather then the 20min i could tolerate it on my phone (due to screen size and comfort). This build quaility is leagues above everyone else, honestly give it a try.
@@EduardoLopez-tged It's a solid device but you seem to have money to throw around. I personally can't justify $300 just for cloud gaming on the couch or in bed.
That said, I did get a refurbished Tab S6 Lite for ~$140. It's been a solid experience with my 8bitdo Pro controller. I just prop the tablet up on the coffee table, back of the couch or my nightstand. Hardly ideal but it works well with a 10" screen.
Bob you can actually switch it to the default android UI, but it's a bit buried in settings.
Also one limitation that is a bummer is that you can only have the MicroSD be Fat32 format, so you can't have any files/Roms that are bigger than 4gb for a single file.
Weird, since android has supported exFat, for quite some time now.
I guess that is the way Logitech make this handheld to work/function, the SD card slot only fat32 format🤔🤦 only 64 gb internal memory, price so high 😱 and using 720g, my Odin more powerful than this
Dang I didn't know it was only fat32, so many complete dealbreakers for this thing I wouldn't even buy it for $200
I would like to see Logitech make an upgraded version with the same SoC as the Razer handheld for $300 and then discount the old one for $199.
199 gets you a Nintendo switch maybe 99 or 149 max everyone to nice getting robbed
300 gets you a Xbox series s next gen might as well save an get PS5 or X
@@mauricionarcia2015 Home consoles are not equal to portables in the same way that a desktop is different from a laptop.
@@mauricionarcia2015 The switch and Android handhelds don't really share market space. A switch needs a TON of work to do what a tablet does and it is still clunky. Out of box, purpose built android phone/tablet/ Handheld has a operating system that is appealing to the emulation community and has tons of native and non native options that are VERY easy to run.
@@greenprotag Nintendo switch your comparison is strange but I was focus on value money spent well might as well get a steam they start at 399
Bob - you are a beast. Keep up the great content! Much love.
I'm not kidding when I say you're the only person I LOVE to watch ads for. Your most replayed spot is your ad. LOL
Bro it doesn't matter what you post anymore I just see your notification and click now. your content is just banger after banger these days. It always impresses me how much quality is packed into each video. Your love for your craft just clearly shines through your work and it's inspiring as hell!
sometimes I watch your videos only to see your advertising and sponsor part. makes me laugh a lot you're good you're real good bro.
I swear you are my favourite RUclipsr all time. love and respect from Germany.
your the only youtuber I don't click past the sponsor part for love it!
I paused on the calendar screen shot and was not disappointed. Good luck with that shake weight 😂
I love Bobs skits for his sponsors
14:13 by the way, the Steam Deck has been readily available for a few weeks now lol
That calendar was really packed. The 30 minute bathroom time is the most relatable though!
I'm waiting to fish it out of the bargain bin! Also, I was of understanding that there was a "tablet mode" you could access in this so you could get a more vanilla Android! Can't seem to find how to access it though!
You’ll be waiting a while then. They’re in no hurry to discount this thing, because with the amount of promotion it’s getting people will inevitably buy it even at that price.
@@Lumn08 This thing is a scam for even a third of what they're charging. It would only be worth it if it were exceptionally cheap, and only then as an emulation device. The "official purpose" of the device is a scam.
@@Lumn08 I agree, but I'm in no rush! I am on a very low income, so is very low priority. And in honesty, I don't use the portables I have. And tend to only play Switch docked!
@@StormsparkPegasus No way. If it were $117, it would blow all the budget handhelds out of the water. I think you’re missing it’s beautiful 7” 1080p screen, which is its real selling point.
@@RGGeek I feel like people are really over looking the phone market comparison with these silly streaming tablet things cause there's a few phones you can pick up for cheaper then grab a detachable controller and still be under the price of this thing and have way more features like being able to take calls and text or use it on the go still online or take nice pictures with it etc while having similar or better specs.
I love the attention to detail! 2:59
If this was $199 it would replace my Retroid Pocket 3 that I just got. There is no way I'm spending $350 for this.
Never fail to amaze me with your advertisements, great work bob!!
Absolutely love the Persona & Catherine OST representtion in this video. :)
I know it defeats the purpose of a gaming handheld but when you set up the device you can select tablet mode which I believe allows you to swipe down and access the typical Android stuff.
love your videos Bob!! I'll take all the emulation videos you can throw at me!
Great video I hate the device but according to eta prime in the settings menu you switch to tablet mode and the touch controls work etc
AT $200 I would consider. They are way off. Looks cool though.
I picked up the G Cloud over the weekend from my local Best Buy for $299, and I already love the device. The screen is big and amazing, while being lighter than the Switch Pro. It runs Emulator, and I LOVE streaming via Steam. It's shockingly good. I've been using it to go through Final Fantasy VII Remake on Steam, and like, save for some home router nonsense, the experince has been stellar.
I really am glad I didn't listen to reviews, because all of them told me not to get this, but.. IDK.. I guess I am the audience for this.
I'm in your same boat!! I just ordered it but I am so sure that I'm the demographic for this device.
Nobody mentions the battery life on this thing either, but I easily hit 12 hrs of battery when emulating gba! That alone and the ability to stream Steam locally is what sold me .
Lmao at the end with the wrong sponsor shout-out
I bought the Retroid Pocket 3 based on your recommendation. Love it SO MUCH.
that "plots conspiracy against wood" entry got me laughing so hard
Great to see they're making Stadia portable now!
I see a few reasons I'd want this. I trust Logitech MUCH more than a random new Hong Kong company like Ayn, and the form factor looks more comfortable than a Steam Deck. It seems pretty simple to mod/flash, it looks really good... honestly, I'd probably purchase this if I had the money right now. It's on sale for $299 for Black Friday, but I'm out of a job at the moment, but it's definitely on my radar. Thank you for the video, I wouldn't have looked into this otherwise!
Just wait until you find out that Logitech partnered with tencent to make it
@@castor9907 I'd primarily be concerned if Tencent had access to my personal data in some way. Manufacturing the thing in the first place, though, I don't have much of an issue with that.
Not for that price, but this device could be for me: I hate playing on PC (I'll do it, but uncomfortably), love my Switch but not my joycons; and really love the cloud route of the game pass. Being able to play those games, like dishonored which I'm playing now, but portably would be really nice, even if it is just inside the house. Maybe... 150. 200 tops.
Bob's ads are the reason I have a hard time sitting through other creator's sponsor reads
Anyone interested in this, I'd recommend looking into Ayn's Odin line. Or maybe GPD, but I'm not sure what they're charging for their newer redesign. But my Odin does everything this device purports to, without trying to style itself around streaming. Which it does just fine! I've streamed Game Pass and Luna, GFN, Stadia (RIP lol) and PS Plus via Shadow...which might sound weird to double stream, but I played a bunch of Bloodborne and Arkham Asylum that way. Emulators run up to that GameCube and certain PS2 level that this seems to.
Also, as mentioned in the vid, Steam Deck. Honestly it's not even that hard to get the streaming stuff working. Except for PS Plus, that took me like 20 minutes. But for Game Pass and GFN, it's more or less just setting the browser to your steam library, and there's a couple commands you have to get to make it recognize the controller with the browser and lock to the streaming service's launcher. But most guides have those posted, so it's just copy/paste. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get going.
Omg I was searching and searching for a vid from wulff before I ordered mine this morning
Best Factor sponsor ad I’ve seen so far.
3:07 I really hope that wasn't frozen 😂
this should be around 150$ max
Yep. It's a tablet screen, cheap phone SoC and gamepad fused together. Nothing special.
If only it was 150 dollars and black
i prefer white consoles over black consoles
6:16 missed opportunity for Sony still complain about that every time it's mentioned.
That sponsor approved "FUUU" got me good
Well you can take "Watch G4TV" off your calendar if you need more room. RIP G4.
The Steam Deck is $50 more and despite what was said in the video it is shipping almost immediately.
I thought it was strictly streaming, but still too expensive for what it is.
$200 I think is where this should be, and even then, against the switch lite it's a hard sell
Considering, that switch has expensive games, zero emulators and no cloud gaming, I don't think they are comparable at all, but I agree that even at 200€ it's a hard sell, when devices like the odin lite, Loki mini or even a retroid pocket exist.
Even my 200€ phone is way more powerful (sd 860) and I got a kishi controller and a powerbank.
@@biglevian sure, switch has expensive games..but to be fair, it has inexpensive games as well...there's free to play, indie, retro (emulated), discounted, used games etc... And as far as emulation, there's hundreds of emulated titles on the eShop+switch online. And there's even some (unfortunate) cloud titles...lol.
But I get what ur saying, walled garden n whatnot
I like that the Logitech ui has more character than the switch has after 5+ years of updates
This is definitely something I'm not very interested in. Considering I have the Steam Deck and the RG552, my emulation needs are pretty much good to go. And if I'm wanting to do "Cloud Gaming", I can just do that on the Steam Deck with 0 issue. If anything, the only devices I'm interested in at the rate is an Ayn device (Odin, Loki, etc.), or an Aya device (Neo lineup, etc.) Past that? Nothing else can really beat what I already have.
Makes sense that they have a really good controller remapping considering the make keyboards and software for them
My thought on ideal market would be for people that have to compete with a spouse, kid or roommate for TV time. Having a dedicated device to stream your local xbox to vs a phone or laptop would make for a better experience.
Plot against Wood
Plot against Zim
Plot against other Bob

Could you map a stick press to Back when using Dolphin?
Bob is a kind of cool uncle we all ever wanted in our very life's
That dude THREW that box. 👏 wulf
Thanks for showing us some features.
When I got to the ad I almost hit like for the second time for that "Ya hungry" bit LOL I mean double likes Bob, not cancelling my like
At this point I was just coming for the ad 😂. No interest in the product but the ad skits always kill me and this was one of the best yet! Bob deserves his own TV show.
Absolute 10/10 peel, 100/10 for emulation rainbow. Bravo
Love you Bob hope you're having a great day
lmao bob getting beat by a factor meal
I got one of these and I can say that it is a device I have mixed feelings on.
At the price it starts at, you 100% may as well just get a Steam Deck.
But it also….isn’t really the same kind of product.
To me it kind of sits against things like the RG353 and other emulator handhelds. If this thing was $250, then it would be perfect
I love the ads he does. I tried factor and hated it, but his ads are amazing
lol the cc said "Host" when Bob started talking.
You're the man Bob!
You definitely made good pros and cons 🙏
So glad my Ayn Odin finally came in yesterday after waiting 2 months.
Just got my Odin, glad it's still the right choice 😄
Really expensive frozen dinners!? Factor sounds like a great product! 😂
It looks like a pretty neat device bit I have a poco f4 amd a gamesir, I'm probably set for hopefully when skyline releases
You on got me on razer 🤣
id love to see you review 8bitdo's new ultimate controller
In a world where things like the odin and steam deck didn't exist, sure this could do well. In this market what in god's name was Logitech thinking.
This and the odin is what im looking at as both in affordable range. Logitech i found i can purchased easily compared to the odins that have a wait period. I might wait till next year to see what available. So far my switch oled is fine but with not able to get a hold of ps5 or xbox series im looking for other handheld alternatives. I mean i could get a gaming pc but i always had bad experience for some reason. lol But im surprised that logitech put their hat in the handheld console community. They do have the potential and i hope they improve on their handheld to be more than just a tablet.
I giggle at every "yA hUnGrY?!"
every time.
I see potential on this device along with ayn odin. Now if someone makes a handheld that is sold on stores and physical copies like switch o be even happier. ^^ I hope Logitech continues to improve this handheld.
You can use the default android intact jts super easy and you get the option right from setup
Oh my! It’s Bobert from the Wulff Den podcast
3:16 bob “fuck” this man is spitting
I’d pick this up for 200 if they added touch screen mapping for android games.
"If they say it, it's illegal. If I say it, its a feature."
The D-pad reminds me of the one on the Nintendo Wii
You should make some videos on how to get started emulating
Basically what you said is wait for it to drop in price a good bit and by then people will have played around with it and optimized it and it'll be a good emulation device thanks BoB!
Hope the move goes well!
I got one and running x cloud is freaking amazing but that’s probably because the internet in my area is really good. However a lot of android games such as cod mobile don’t recognize the built in controls. Hopefully will be fixed in update.
There are key mappers apps in android that would allow you to set long press in the home button as BACK
I gotta admit, I chapped back 3 times to watch, "Ow! My eye!" again and again.
This is a Microsoft backed device, they made this in part with Logi. I see it, essentially, as a portable Series S, without the actual xbox interface. Why it’s cloud only? I’d have to assume it’s something about the game versions and android paired, but idk? Not sure who this is for, but you made it look pretty cool.
For $250, I’d buy it. At $350, a little out of my price range.
I'd be curious to see you do an update on this. Logitech has made several improvements in the past year.
They now allow you to multitask in handheld mode
You can map the hardware buttons to the screen for touchscreen only games
USB C now handles lossless HDMI output for TVs or AR glasses
In addition you mentioned being 720p but other than the official xbox app I think everything does 1080 including XBXplay for the xbox.
As someone considering this but shying away due to software cons, very useful info. Thanks for sharing.
@@TheFps12 UI bought one of these last week. The software cons are either fixed in the last year or were actually not even an issue (check some newer reviews). I usually get time to play about an hour a day but have played over 30 hours in the last week. The device is excellent and this is coming from a PC gamer who would never normally use a controller, too
How did you get ¾ through this video before briefly mentioning the Ayn Odin? It's definitely the closest competition, nevermind the OLED switch
1:10 Hide yo kids, hide yo wife, and hide yo Kojima
I want one but I don't $350 want one. I have an ayn odin and rp3. For me this could replace my odin from what I've seen from the emulation videos and it'd be more comfortable for around the house gaming.
The G Cloud is my favorite all around device. Great for gaming or netflix or anything else
Yeah, I agree on the point made about cost - I heard Steam is making something that allows you to run PC games portably, but also runs them locally because it’s a computer with a controller attached. But hey 🤷🏼♂️ maybe people don’t realize there are controllers for your phone.
This screen is another 1” over my phone screen, makes a difference at this size. Plus not having to to frankenstein the phone into the grips (and lose use of the phone) is pretty nice
If I’m going to shell out that much money on a portable console before the Switch 2 or whatever is next from Nintendo it will be on a Steamdeck. I don’t like the idea of an all digital/ streaming system but the Steamdeck is so versatile and has so many use cases I could see it being worth it.
Steam Deck 2 or Switch 2 depending on how bad Nintendo screws up the specs. Otherwise the Switch will be my last Nintendo console.
@@homebrewGT2 I don't plan on getting a future Nintendo device past my switch oled unless its groundbreaking tech cause my steamdeck satisfies almost all that I could want for a switch pro and much more! Its like switch but on steroids and without the joycons. Yet somehow I always find myself coming back to it! This Logitech device is better for Cloud Gaming so so like if you wanted to play Genshin it would be easier to set that up without risk for an account ban.
I'm pretty sure you can go to the default Android UI
sooo the thing is you can switch to the regular android navigation/homescreen
