Great review. I was lucky enough to pick this up for only $299.00 at best buy. I love everything it has to offer, especially on the emulation part. For a mid range gaming device, it hit a lot of sweet spots. The screen and 12 hours of battery life is really what sold me
I recommend if using for cloud streaming, turn off Bluetooth entirely for an immediate performance boost. Just having it on, even with nothing connected, will slow down the connection.
Just from an android gaming perspective, its the best experience I have had so far. It makes mobile games feel like actual console games. The processor is good enough and i have no complaints at all. Screen is bright and crisp. Battery life is fantastic. When it comes to remote play, forget about it. Gaming from my pc to the g cloud is lights out the best portable experience you can have. Steamdeck can't compete imo. I own a deck and just from weight and resolution" the remote option for the g cloud is the best. I think i may be putting the steamdeck into the collectors case.
What are some android games that you recommend on it? I love mine for streaming and emulation but I was surprised how few good android games I could find outside of Minecraft.
@@jonmkl so far? Evil lands, asphalt 9, diablo immortal and a few others. Gaming has taken a back seat lately tbh. Super busy at work this time of year.
Thanks for what you said about this console. I too am looking for a handheld console to mainly play Playstore & some (PC) games to free up space on my phone. I've been researching different handheld consoles & ran across this review & read your comment. You expressed my train of thought perfectly as to what I was looking for in a console. It's exactly the console I was looking for so thanks again.
Interesting but limited, i mean , i feel not everybody might have a good internet speed to really take advantage of this device, but the concept which is carried by more and more manufacturers will drive to mode development and it might be a huge thing, remote processing and local playing even on the go with good quality, battery and price. As always great review my friend.
This is going to be the biggest hurdle this line of products is going to face. I know razor is partnering with Verizon because you do need fast internet to be able to play these games on the go and I tested it with T-Mobile because I had access to their hotspot on the go but you're right you're not speeds are not at the level that mobile gave me is requiring right now
If logitech made this a pure gaming device rather than cloud streaming and android gaming then i might been more interested in it. Does have some potential but logitech just didn't seem bring there a game in this product in my opinion. Would loved instead of google play they had their own game store with compatible games to the systems controllers among other things. With google play you kind have to do research in finding games with controller support. I had thought about purchasing this but might hold off on it for a while and see what logitech does. Besides got my switch and not most powerful system out their suits my needs, till nintendo releases a new handheld.
If this device was a little cheaper and more as a pure gaming console rather than an android tablet with controllers with cloud streaming i might have been more interested. Bonus if they release physical games too but i doubt it. Only way i will get this if price goes down a bit and purchase it to try it out. Heard some decent android games with controller support but i suck at finding those. But i will keep an eye on this device, i think logitech has potential making a good handheld console but i dont think g cloud is the way to go. Who knows maybe they are just testing the waters before they try to go further into the handheld market.
I greatly appreciate the thorough review! I like the screen size and resolution, and the battery life, but not the price. If they got this to be under $200, I’d choose it over the Switch Lite.
That link in your discretion is to a different style carrying case than the one in your video. But great review I have one myself does it move around in the case doesn't look that secure?
You can pair a Xbox controller to the g cloud. If you want to use the game cloud controls. You hold the Xbox button and that small button down at the same time. The g cloud will pair with the controller in the Bluetooth Settings.
I thought this was xboxs version of a Nintendo switch. I was hoping that you could download games you bought from your xbox and play them on the go so long as it could handle the games
@yungassassin6990 so you can have them downloaded on your Xbox and still travel and it's fine? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I just don't get how this works
Hey TK I'm really interested in this product I've been looking for a handheld device to play with but my question to you is I love playing call of duty games especially cold war zombies can I play that game on this?
It’s brilliant. It is expensive but if they drop it to what it should be - £220 is perfect, this could sell hotcakes. Majority of emulation is bang on but GameCube and PS2 is hit and miss.
If you launch the device in tablet mode can you open the discord app and then open the steam link android app? So you can have discord running while using the tablet mode steam link app?
1 - MOSTLY for cloud gaming 2- ONLY on WIFI And MUST have very good WiFi ( not un option if u r on travel in a hotel or in train) cuz mostly bad wifi there. 3- old processor All that AND cost 350 dollars Definitely OVERPRICE NOT WORTH IT... I still don't understand how u said it's not overpriced !
It is true, it is not expensive, everything that the G Cloud allows you to play for the price of a Switch, the Switch will not allow you to play everything that the G cloud allows you through the cloud and is cheaper than Steam Deck that would be the most approximate, at the level of game options.
@@lorenzoabraham respect to ur opinion ....but can't believe what i read, it's just 50 euro cheaper than the Steamdeck with only wifi and 3 years old processor. You can't even use it on travel ! What good about that!!( unless u have good wifi which is only at home! ..what is the point!)
The processor doesn't really have to do much here it's literally leveraging the servers of Xbox and Nvidia so the 720 g is more than capable of handling that
I can't wait to see what the razor gaming device is going to be like in real life, right now I'm getting a lot of next bit Robin design flair and similar experience to what we're seeing here
Problem is android gaming SUCKS. PUBG, CoD Mobile, Apex mobile all lack support for general gamepads and only work work Xbox controllers or PlayStation controllers. It makes devices like these pretty useless if you want to play native android games
Absolutely one of the biggest problems and concerns that I have right here is the fact that those games are not going to run well on this device and I like playing these mobile games on my phones and would have loved better support for them
I tried but steam must hate money or have pure r3tardsz working because they blocked my account, shipping address and card because my first name did not match my billing first name for shipping... yeah I guess I robbed my own mother card and decided to ship to the same stolen address... Never had I had such a problem with ordering online even uber and other business take any credit card without even having a card name... but this idiots locked down my whole account and details so now can’t even order So yeah clearly I tried that option and now I prefer to buy this or $1000+ device some some fhaghhotsz couldn’t accept money or even respond back, imagine having millions but can’t afford customer service? Fcking pathetic
Have have both and I still bought this system....the battery is great and the screen is really nice and you can game most of the day without having to charge it I like the system very much
