Honestly, watching Joe immediately reject Quavers makes me question his opinions on everything else ever.
I’m not passionate about a lot of things but that was appalling 😭🪦
@@mius.cereal You're not helping us Americans that have never tried them... say what's good about them before ragging on the GOAT.
@@nahor88 this made me laugh xD ummmm well they’re cheese flavour which is already a W and we have like good cheese over here to use as a reference and not those cursed plastic slices o(`ω´ )o and they’re a curly shape and quite airy so you can eat a million and still want more hmmmm idk if you guys have pombears but it’s kind of that texture but maybe a bit more structure since it’s curled
@@mius.cereal No we don't, and I read that initially as "porn bears", LMAO.🤣
Harry's shrek shirt is peak fashion.
Wooow, lets do that again!!! 🫏
Kersh is an anagram of Shrek 🤯
*t-shirt
@@leonbanks5728a t shirt is a type of shirt, so they're still correct saying shirt.
@@robolover t-shirts and shirts are different. T-shirts don’t have buttons on them.
"The 2nd worst thing to happen to Subway franchise"
I DIEDDDD
“I DIEDDDD” so has Subway 😂
Jersey Mike's is better
"your mountain dew is dreadful and your nachos are a crime" iconic 😂😂😂
Honestly this is the only reason I’m subbed to this channel
Ditto! I'm only here for Harry and Joe too. Their chemistry is awesome and it feels natural. I kinda find some of the others annoying or contrived.
Truth!
@HUNTERS_CRACKPIPE lmao hunters crackpipe...love the humor!
@@melissa-wilson you're sexy
Haven’t even watched it & I know Joe’s gonna be disappointed 😄
Its funny how whilst Joe was let down, he doesn't like Subway so nothing big but it was funny Harry was more let down, he generally disliked US subway... but then again, he equally isn't big on subway.
Yeah sorry we don't put carcinogens in our food to make it taste better 😂
Always almost guaranteed
It's subway. Everybody ends up disappointed.
What really got me was that they both said the opposite country has less flavor than their own @@DarkCobra88
I am confused about the whole sauce agro? If you didn’t go through the steps of adding salad and sauce, what exactly were you expecting……?
Exactly
And the ones that did have sauce were the series menu, which are all pre-chosen ingredients
Yeah, you'd always have sauce on it when you'd have it in the shop
Exactly. Ordering the plainest variant of each sub and then complaining about the blandness/lack of toppings. It’s on them.
I came to say this. They make no sense. A BLT with no mayo? Moronic.
Basically, it doesn't matter where you go, Subway is always bland, rubbery and leaves frown on your face...
Pffft speak for yourself
Well white people made it soo bland is they flavor
Except the cookies 🍪
Other delis are better
It does matter where you go! I've had Subway that was as good as a bistro sandwich, and Subway that made me take 1 bite and throw the rest out.
“The meatballs here are quite big and thick”
well, we did it
I remember the crisps with little bags of salt inside and shaking it up so good
You can still sometimes get them in some supermarkets.
Walkers Salt’n’Shake.
You can still get them. Usually in a 6 pack
Those were Smith's Salt'n'Shake with the little blue bag. The only reason I got them was to bin the salt bag & eat them plain.
I remember The cheese packets for fries at Burger King
Does anyone actually like subway? For me it's a last resort option when there's nothing close enough. It's all pretty terrible
They often pop up on Uber Eats here under "buy one get one free" - that's the only time I ever order from Subway. They're so, so..... average.
Ohhhhh boi do I love Subway…. Im not sure why but it just hit the spot for me
Bread is extruded sponge loaf. Tomatoes are artificially reddened, meat is full of fillers. The whole menu is an exercise in cost reduction.
It depends on what time of day you go in. The earlier the better and things will be more fresh, especially the bread.
@johnsimon8457 and I Don't think you could lose weight by eating sandwiches so Jared fogle is full of it
Subway is also one of those places, at least in the US, where location and the person making it factor in huge. There used to be two locations in my town, one literally gave me 4 spinach leaves when I asked for spinach once and everything tasted of nothing but bread.
Uk has the raspberry cheesecake cookie too. I had one the other day. Loved it
Literally confused I had raspberry cheesecake and white chocolate macadamia subway cookies my entire childhood I literally ordered both of those last week too😭😂
they only came back a couple months ago. they discontinued them in like 2018?
@@mius.cerealwhat do you mean by literally
I see Harry is wearing his finest Sunday shirt
These two are the only reason I'm still subbed
We need to adopt Harry as an American. And Joe is funny as heck. Really like the restaurant episodes on both sides of the pond. Can someone teach Joe how to hold/use his utensils? lol
Both of you are terrific, keep up the entertaining work!
Where I live in NH there are 12 Subways close by. Most owned by the same owner and all are terrible.
I used to spend a lot of time traveling locally in my job and ate at most of the 12 at some point. If you like a Lettuce Sub, then these places cant be beat. All cold cuts and cheeses were of the see thru variety. I stopped wasting my money and found all the decent mom'n
pop sub shops to be vastly superior.
I did stop at a Subway 1 time up in a teeny tiny beautiful town in Maine. I was hungry and my options were limited to Dunkin's or Subway. I got a 6" Italian. Just the standard 6" sub with oil and vinegar. I was shocked. It was packed with meat and cheese. Loaded. At that point I hadn't been in a subway in years. A few weeks later I thought I would try 1 of the local shops close to my home. Same story as before, see thru meat and cheese.
I haven't been back in a Subway in over 8 years.
Yeah local delis are better
Please upload way more of this series
When did you record the UK portion of this? UK stores now stock Coca-Cola products instead of Pepsi and raspberry cheesecake cookies are also back (we had them until a few years ago but they are now back).
Pepsi must have done something to piss Subway off. I know a few years ago, Subway in the US also use to have Pepsi products and I was disappointed when they switched over to Coke.
they probably filmed it when joe went to the uk to film those videos they did there. just like stuff with harry was likely filmed when he went to america to try american foods
My local stores don't stock coke...
Yeah, the Coke machine at my local store in the UK was really disappointing. The Pepsi machine was a touchscreen with plenty of options (two or three kinds of Pepsi, 7up, Tango orange and Tango apple I think, Lipton peach iced tea, and a Robinson's juice). The Coke machine was the old style and only had four choices. And there was no ice machine 😮
I didn't know that
"Second worse thing to hit the Subway franchise." Excellent burn, Joe.
LOL I'm losing it at Joe opening the "pizziola"(?) "What the hell is happening here?"
Harry’s already mentioned this back in the subway episode, but here in Ireland a court ruled that Subway can’t call it’s bread Bread. Too much sugar therefore it’s considered cake XD
Thanks you for your content fun to watch
Likely the bowl and salad options are to cater to those that can’t eat bread?
Yeah this is nothing new, stop complaining about options for a whole group of people.
21:53 How to summon Joe: open a bag of Miss Vickie’s chips 😆
Love the foreign exchange ❤️🥰
we have the white chip macademia and raspberry cheesecake cookies in the UK
What gets on my arse about UK subway is that the Chicken Piziola isn't on the menu anymore as a standard sub. If the people that work there remember them they will do you one but its classed as a create your own and costs more.
Joe: I don't believe in food rules. Eat whatever you like.
Also Joe: Pickles!? No, that's weird.
im totally diggin harry's shrek shirt rulez
Canadian Subways also have the Subway Series and *EVERY* one of them is different from the USA and UK versions. Only one's any good: the "Stampede Brisket". But it's $20!!! The new footlong cookies are pretty good too
So Harry thinks it is weird to get cold cucumber on his meatball bowl, but he gets cold pickles on his meatball sub?
Insider Food now only got video from food war, I missed the day when Harine was doing her restaurant tour and Claudia did her video on produces around the world...
These shows are perfect as they are. Let’s put a stop to this editing before it gets out of control.
It seems like nobody sauced these subways.....
Which is always a mistake, especially the blt needs mayonnaise
Yeah, I get tired of people who just order off the menu, guess what it's a fast food place that has options, use them.
Mayo is the god of a decent sandwich
Joe says he knows about cheese steaks yet the FIRST thing he points out is no peppers... Even as a Scotsman I know that's wrong.
The Series subs are largely a way to trick you into paying for more add-ons (e.g. double cheese, pepperoni on a meatball sub, bacon, etc.). Even though they say double cheese, I don’t think they’ve ever given me more than on a classic sub. And I think they got rid of the classic Italian to only have the Series option.
As food and drink seems to go wrong by the time you get it back to your studio.. cheese congeals, slush drinks melt etc... why not do this ? as your set is just a white background and a table, why not get a truck or a van or something, put your set in there, and park it right in the parking lot of the places you eating from ? that way you could get shooting right away and enjoy the products as they are supposed to be enjoyed....
This episode confirmed to me why I never go to subway and I do like my fast food. Its just the two times ive been (in the Uk) and orderd a sandwich, there was a weird chemical like taste, i think it was a meatball sub or something like that. Hard to describe but it felt so basically unnatural for a sandwich. Id rather make one at home.
I will say- the bowl options are appealing to people who are gluten intolerant or who are trying to cut carbs for diet reasons.
Yes!! Pickles on a Meatball is the way to go!!
We need more of this. This is just them roasting each others chains haha
Whaaaaat! You have never heard the term “cold cuts” what do you call it on Boxing Day when you just have so much cold meat left over 😂
Should of tried the Southwest Sauce in the UK sub 😊
“Leftovers” 🤷♂️
I’d call it leftovers or Boxing Day grub.
I’ve always just referred to cold cuts as cold meat.
Throw it all in a frying pan and it magically becomes 'Bubble and Squeak'.
1:20 huh, I also sometimes get the meatball sub with pickles. BUt i don't go to subway that often, as there is a jersey mikes that is closer to me, and they're pretty great.
Harry all the cold cuts and bacon are made of turkey and the meat balls used to be as well .
A girl I went to high school with and her family started the pickleball trend in my area; her two younger sisters and younger brother (triplets) all played tennis, volleyball and badminton in high school.
According to my own experience, UK Subway is much fatter than Finnish Subway. In Finland, I'm used to the fact that here they put a lot of vegetables and a little sauce and a little cheese.
28:59 it IS!!!
What I love about the foreign exchange is trying other countries, food and knowing how good it is. Man I want to try the UK subway 😋
...you really don't 😂😅
The roast beef tastes of roast beef. Fascinating.
It's always great to see Harry and Joe talk/interact about food!
Joe - you so should do a voiceover for a character!! You’d ACE it!!!
The grouch ?
subway UK has white chocolate macademia cookies and raspberry cheesecake
subway uk just released new subs, bbq meatballs sounds so good xx
The honey-oat sub is really nice, really taste the honey
I worked in a UK Subway for a while, it was grim.
What town and why so grim?
@@adamkane7513 none of your business, and it sucked, all work stopped for just eat orders, even having customers in the shop, staring right in your face.
My sympathies
@@Tactical_Hotdog So you took the job not understanding that customers would be standing there watching you make their food? Had you ever been to a Subway before you applied?
@@PapagenoMF as if they weren't there, basically ignoring them, but you knew that and tried being funny instead.
Whenever I go to subway, I always get a footlong meatball sub with the Ms. Vickie’s jalapeño chips
I’ve finally started eating Subway again a few years after a bad customer service experience. I do love my constructions
UK Subway meatball marinara just tastes of sage now. Used to enjoy them, but the overwhelming taste of sage is horrid.
Also, when my daughter was around 3, she used to love quavers! So did my brother in law. Until him and my sister took her out for the day. She put quavers into my brother in laws coffee, and he didn't realise until he took a big swig 😂
Unless this was filmed months ago, you can get both of the 'exclusive cookies' mentioned here in the UK, the white chip macadamia I've been getting for months, I spotted the raspberry cheesecake over the weekend so idk if it's new new.
I need Harry to try a fried bologna sandwich
They forgot the foot long pretzels, churros, and cookies
The meat at our location subway locations looks a lot better than these sandwiches. More different colors anyway. Lol
In the uk we have a whole thing called a crisp butty, it’s just crisps (chips) on bread with butter
That sounds like classic British food. Bland, unseasoned and white.
Imagine having to eat all that Subway.
It all tastes/smells like the bread guys
The smell of the bread outside the stores is horrible.
The cold cut combo is also entirely made of turkey. It's a turkey bologna, turkey ham and turkey salami
19:35
As someone unfortunate enough to have to work there for a year, I can confirm that's exactly how they did it. Pick a bag of (probably stale because they were kept on top of the warm meatball cabinet) Doritos, chuck a spoonful of sauce (I think it was marinara sauce from the meatballs), a pitiful handful of grated cheese (you got a stern talking to if you used too much), and chuck it in the microwave for a minute.
I don't know why they didn't use the industrial toasters. To this day it baffles me that anyone would pay for that torture in a box.
Funny that half the complaints levelled at the UK Subway are the same in the US. I guess that’s… consistency?
good video
we have cup drinks too in the UK
So for the foreign exchange, do they each go to each others countries, film and episode together then swap?
Did anyone else's soul die when you found out Harry's first experience with Auntie Anne's was going to be a garbage pretzel from Subway?
I've always thought of bologna as like a cold potted meat sliced up.
Pepper jack cheese is white too
lol Harry’s shirt
they do the no bread stuff because of people that cannot have gluten
Add pepperoni, onion, bell, and wax peppers to the Meatball sub. 🤤🤤🤌🤌🤌🤌
Hey should do a chocolate foreign exchange episode.
Joe rolling in for Miss Vickies is smooth...
Good job Joe is great as an entertainment factor because the way he immediately decided quavers were awful just makes me question his tastes. I've tried many British and American chips/crisps, and the British ones are superior except spicey flavours.
In most US states it is much hotter than the UK. We sweat a lot and need more liquids to stay hydrated in the summer months. I drink water instead of soda but i feel it explains the large drink options.
we deffo have white chocolate macadamia cookies in the UK
i mean you’re spot on about how they make the nachos Joe..
complaining about sauce is very very confusing, you ask for sauce when youre ordering and you can choose how much, youre just ordering generic menu items ask for the sauce you want... Also everyone eats subway with southwest sauce in the uk so its weird you didnt seem to have it on most of the subs haha. Ive never seen nachos at subway, or anyone in the uk eating nachos ever.
I like subway I can't really complain and there's one near my house so that's convenient.
Subway in Australia is so good, also who orders the menu sandwiches. Making your own is the best part
Bring the "Nacho Chicken" to the US, that's good stuff.
Subway is the one chain I refuse to go to, it is never satisfying. Yet, Subway is like the biggest chain in the nation (US)
Just had a meatball sub at a subway here in the US, hadn’t had subway in probably 5-6 years, the guy making my sandwich didn’t speak more than a few words of English so when he made my meatball marinara sub with 0 marinara and tried to put lettuce on it I had to stop him, tho when I kept asking for marinara he kept trying to say they only had Parmesan cheese (I figured he thought I was asking about cheeses, not sauce) but yeah; ended up with bread, cheese n meat….. hopefully this isn’t how far most subways have fallen bc I do remember them at one point being pretty decent, though I’ll probably not try them again for another 5+ years after that
"The differences really come down to the fact that Subway in the US stocks Coca-Cola products, Whilst Subway in the UK stocks Pepsi products" - Not for much longer. They're changing to Coca-Cola on the 15th May, the same day their new (reworked) rewards program launches
Maybe a worker doesn't like refilling the bottles so they skimp you on the sauce
The USA “exclusive” cookies aren’t. Both are available in the UK.
The real difference isn't the tastes, but the actual plastic ingredients (e.g. deadly chemicals) in the U.S. Subway bread. There's been multiple news exposés on those ingredients only allowed in the U.S.
Wish they would do a blind comparison where they have to guess if it’s us or uk, think sometimes they assume the uk has less salt when it’s not always the case and that changes how it tastes
It's hilarious how most of the sandwiches they showed had more greens than meat. I haven't had Subway in years and I don't plan on going back after this.
I just get cheese, pickles and mayo on my sub, and of course ranch sauce on the chicken and bacon ranch. I miss when they made it out of chicken strips rather than rotisserie chicken. Ah, high school and college.
Gotta have pickles and jalapeños in the meatball marinara 💪
I like red onion and jalapeno or banana pepper :)
@@kaldo_kaldo I add red onion too! It's delicious! Haven't found any banana peppers in the UK locations yet :(
I haven't willingly ate Subway in 20 years
Same, one visit and I realised that it wasn’t worth my time
Harry’s Shrek shirt is the best!!
Even though I think I wouldn't like the "nachos" in the UK, it's a bit unfair to try them so long after purchase. US nachos do the same thing, becoming a chewy plank of corn chips if you don't eat them right away. The big crime is probably the salsa... it looked so sad...
