Joe put the War in Food Wars. It was fun watching him say something like "Take that (insert country name)!" We need that sort of banter back on Food Wars videos.
She also missed the drinks too. We literally have cups ranging from small, medium to large for the refill fountain. I literally went to my local subway and got a large cup of red fanta with my meal. Not sure why they excluded that.
@@drywaller420 yeah same. There was a few I saw that she missed with the bottled drinks liked Diet Coke and other drinks. Here in my state, you can get 600ml bottle of dairy farmers chocolate milk, strawberry milk, vanilla malt as well as a few different versions Dare iced coffee
Yeah, I work at a really busy Subway and Italian Herbs and Cheese is like, half of our bread bake every day. You can also get large wraps in white, the pepper schnitzel she listed is only for some states (SA had BBQ Pork Belly and I think there was a third one, maybe beef brisket?), the quesadilla was made wrong (it has mozzarella cheese, southwest sauce, onions, capiscum and, if you like, jalapenos), the classic and schnitzel taste different (one is seasoned flour, the other is plain bread crumbs), old people and tradies eat the seafood, and there are other catering options than the one she listed (a favourites style - both that and the classic style come in wraps as well - and you can get a gluten free platter). Also, with the drinks, the franchisee selects them (with guidelines) and there is a limit to how many kinds of drinks you can have in your fridge (so can't stock them all). That's why there are variations in things like the coke or iced tea flavours. Also, South Australia sells Farmers Union Iced Coffee instead of Dare. Also, some stores have the post-mix drinks and some don't. Mine doesn't, but they are commonly available. Bleurgh, I feel like I'm defending Subway here, but there was just so much random non- or mis-information. Anecdotally, I assume it's because she's in Sydney? All the workers that come here from there (all different stores and owners) are really under trained and might as well be brand new haha
Bye the way. We do indeed have Italian Herb & Cheese Bread at Subway in Australia. I don't know what Subway she went to. I live in Tasmania and we do have it in Subway. It is my favorite out of the different Subway breads. My favorite sub is the Meatball Melt... I also like the Seafood Sensation. Don't hate me in that one, we have our own different tastes.
I AGREEEE sub’s white chocolate macadamia cookie is PHENOMENALLLLL and I love the fact that we can get cookiez once we fill out their evaluation form 🎉
I remember that we had the cups for drinks not that many years ago here in Australia. I would always get a large cup whenever I got a drink alongside my subway order.
We still do have the fountain drink in Australia with refills. I literally went there yesterday and got a large cup of red Fanta and the size was a 32oz cup.
@@bohemelavie1 what I thought was weird was how the American version included Italian herbs and cheese like as if that’s exclusive to the US only. I literally ordered that bread yesterday with my chicken classic sub.
As a non-American, I wonder if the main reason ranch never takes off outside of the US is the name. Like, what does "ranch" even mean? Basically every takeaway in the UK does a "garlic mayo dip", which is honestly just ranch, under a more discriptive name.
I'm curious, does garlic mayo dip actually taste like "ranch" dressing, or is it different? Maybe you have never had ranch, I'm unsure obviously I live in the states and I despise ranch for the most part (other than maybe a salad dressing, which is what it was made for). I'm biased because I grew up in New York and we like bleu cheese, although I know a lot of people that love ranch. Btw, it's only called "ranch" because the creator was a plumber that bought a ranch and made called the dressing ranch. 😁
For the Buffalo Chicken sub, we use Franks Red Hot sauce. The BMT and Spicy Italian also are now exclusively on the Subway Series menu, only difference being double cheese. Also, you can customize what is on your Subway Series subs as well.
we do have Diet Coke in Australia, some Subway stores do offer it in Australia it's just not a main drink offering unlike how it is a Macca's or Hungry Jack's.

Surely Americans know what bitters is? It’s used in a lot of classic cocktails like an old fashioned. Also Bitters is actually highly alcoholic at nearly 50% alcohol but the amount used in the drink lemon lime and bitters is such a small amount that the drink is considered non-alcoholic and can be served to a minor

The Australian woman describing lemon lime drink is us like here in Italy as a kid trying to drink as much lemon sorbetto or lemon flavor ice cream to get an alcohol buzz😂❤

WHAT??? Australia has the Seafood Sensation???? Called the Seafood 'n' Crab in the 90s this was my ALL TIME FAVORITE and I want it back in the US so much!
As a us subway employee so many things confused me here, breakfast can be on normal bread not just wraps and flatbread, creamy Sriracha is new, but they don't have the new subs that go with it, and the tortillas are gone, in the US we don't sell individual ingredients or bread like Australia, and I've never seen someone put sauce in Soup cup before, and marina sauce and two big ones honey mustard and subway Vinaigrette which you had on a sandwich but not in sauce section
I have been getting the pizza sub with chicken classic old English cheese salad and pizza, sweet onion and Mayo sauces on Italian herbs and cheese in Australia since 2003. It's so oooooo good. Prior to covid we had fountain drink machines but they are gone
Well they didn’t seeing as I literally went there yesterday and they still had the drink fountain when I got my meal. Got a large cup of red Fanta with refill for $3.75
I live in the U.S. and I get coupons from Subway in the mail every month so I eat there about two times a week with my gf and it usually only costs around 13 dollars for both of us for lunch. That's if we share a footlong with fountain drinks or get two six inch meals with coupons. I wouldn't eat there paying the original prices.
I used to go to Subway here in Australia all the time but I stopped because the cost kept going up (and its no longer the value proposition it used to be)
Firstly, Australia has Italian herbs and cheese bread and secondly subway do have self serve drink cups too, thirdly we have chicken teriyaki filling which is absolutely my fave! The video is not entirely correct.
the 6 foot is 6 footlongs joined together with the ends cut off to look like it was one big one. in Australia that is. you missed australia also has italian herb and cheese. i wish we still used the american philly steak instead of the chunky steak.
I miss the Seafood Sensation. All the Subways where I live stopped having that as an option. I still get craving for it. Lately my go to's are Pizza or the Boss. Recently they changed their meatballs and it's actually pretty good! I used to get craving for that and whenever I got the old meatball sub, I was disappointed because it tasted like sadness.
It's not really a collab. Subway is now owned by the same company that owns both cinnabon and auntie Anne's. So it's basically just bringing products from their other brands over not a collaboration. None of the Subways near me make the Series sandwiches as listed on the menu. They still ask how you want to customize like they always have. And I don’t think I’ve gotten double cheese as some say they come with. My go-tos are the Meatball Marinara or the Italian BMT. Most of the time I go there planning to get something else, I end up leaving with a footlong meatball, though. :-)
LOL! I don't think changing your name to "Subway" is so bad. In the early 00s I lived in a city where a guy entered a radio contest by changing his name to "Haywood Jablomi"! The official name change was in the newspaper classifieds and everything, lol!
How does the US not have the chicken and bacon ranch? We have it in Canada, and it’s one of my favourites! Although I liked it better when they used chicken strips instead of rotisserie chicken.
First time hearing "chicken schnitty", I thought Birtt said Chicken shit hahaha. Also, love how she does not shy away from them bites for all the food!
I don't think it has crab at all, its probably "imitation crab" which I believe is Pollock. the Seafood sensation used to be called the "Seafood and crab" many years ago, so draw your own conclusion. Man, I miss that sub. Can't get it in the UK.
ah, I remember those golden days when one could indulge in non-cheesy "healthy" SunChips at Subway (when the walls were plastered with newspaper, too). I remember when they switched only to cheddar sunchips. There was an outcry, and it was suffocated by cheesy dust. After that, "sides" culture devolved until the footlong cookie was born. Armageddon is nigh, I suppose.
The gallon (US gallon, so short measure by UK standards) drink container exemplifies everything that is wrong with "fountain" drinks. They are flat. Also an excuse for short measure when half a cup of ice is dumped in first.
Subway soda fountains in America are self-serve, they just hand you the cup. How much if any ice you put in the cup, as well as which fountain drink or mix of Fountain drinks you fill it up with is entirely up to you.
And if the fountain drinks are flat that's the restaurants failing. Soda fountains need to be calibrated to the correct brix ratio of water to syrup and properly carbonating the water with CO2. A properly set up soda fountain should not dispense flat drinks.
6:09 what's the point of buying all the sandwiches if you're not going to unwrap them? Don't really get that part of this episode. Just put up images at that point and don't even waste the food. A bit disappointed with the US host. Not really putting in that much effort -- at least compared to other hosts -- if I'm being honest. Did it again at 13:38. I'm just looking at wrappers. Again, why? Not even going to watch the rest at this point. Disappointed, Insider Food.
Subway: The estimated financial range for setting up and operating a Subway restaurant for the first three months ranges between $182,550 and $506,900, depending on location type. Subway has two types of franchises: traditional and non-traditional (inside another business like a convenience store or Department store, the cheaper the locations real estate or rent the less expensive it will be.)
McDonald's franchisee applicants must have a minimum of $500,000 available in liquid assets and pay a $45,000 franchise fee. Those looking to launch a new McDonald’s franchise can expect to shell out between $1,314,500 and $2,306,500. Existing franchise operations can cost upwards of $1 million.
Me in the 90's Subway is the best fast food chain.they have the highest quality ingredients. Also me today Subway is total trash, you can get a better sub sandwich literally any other sandwich place.
That life time supply by changing your name to subway made me sad, because all I can think of is people with food insecurity who are like, "a sandwich can be decently healthy and you can get lots of toppings and customize it a lot, I have no problem changing my name." Like, that's a guarantee that you'll survive. Last but not least, it's a PR stunt and a partial lie. They will cover up to 750 dollars in name changing fees to reimburse and a gift card equivalent to 50,000 dollars at subway If you got one meal a day, drink, sub and chips, it lasts only 13 years. Lifetime is straight up false advertising. It should be 60 minimum if you got one sub a day. They could have controlled it by like having that person refill the card each month so they don't use a lot of it up to get like 100 subs and give them for free and cut the amount it would stretch down. 13 years is cheap.
Australia has Italian herbs in cheese. We have a saying down here, "why would you ask what bread I want, of course it's Italian herbs

First time hearing "chicken schnitty", I thought Birtt said Chicken shit hahaha. Also, love how she does not shy away from them bites for all the food!
I thought US Subway had dill pickle chips. Was that a thing, or just in Canada?
Can you do an video with German McDonald's vs Korean McDonald's?
The spicy italian isbthe BMT without ham
The seafood one in Australia my brother actually loved (disgusting) and was actually discontinued the seafood one in alot of subways in my state
Wait wait wait... Why are the australian Salt & Vinegar crisps pink?"
all our salt and vinegar stuff is pink. here that’s the colour of salt and vinegar.
Australia has Italian herbs and cheese and also garlic
I don't think it has crab at all, its probably "imitation crab" which I believe is Pollock. the Seafood sensation used to be called the "Seafood and crab" many years ago, so draw your own conclusion.
Man, I miss that sub. Can't get it in the UK.
Food wars we need Australia vs uk pls🩵
ah, I remember those golden days when one could indulge in non-cheesy "healthy" SunChips at Subway (when the walls were plastered with newspaper, too).
I’ve never had a flat fountain drink in my entire life. I have no idea what you’re going on about.
That tape measure action was really sus.. 😏
How on earth are there so many Subways?
Because they are cheap to set up. Low entry costs compared to, say, a McDonalds.
Or a competing franchise in the sub business like Jersey Mike's say the total will be $209,449 - $1,347,580
Firehouse Subs will want to see you have a 300 K minimum net worth and a minimum of 150k to invest. And it could run into the high six figures.
Blimpie is better than subways. So sad they're not around anymore. Only 1 or 2. Blimpie burger was the best.❤
Me in the 90's
Subway is the best fast food chain.they have the highest quality ingredients.
Also me today
Subway is total trash, you can get a better sub sandwich literally any other sandwich place.
Bro We have Italian herbs and cheese in Australia, it’s Italian herbs or nothing
Bring back Joe!!!!
They will cover up to 750 dollars in name changing fees to reimburse and a gift card equivalent to 50,000 dollars at subway
If you got one meal a day, drink, sub and chips, it lasts only 13 years.
Lifetime is straight up false advertising. It should be 60 minimum if you got one sub a day. They could have controlled it by like having that person refill the card each month so they don't use a lot of it up to get like 100 subs and give them for free and cut the amount it would stretch down.
13 years is cheap.
Can't wait till they do star bucks if they do 🤩
