From calorie count to portion sizes, we wanted to find all the differences between Domino’s in the US and Australia. This is "Food Wars."
Always a good day when we have a new Food Wars video!
Thanks for watching!
love how you can see the grease at the bottom of all the US pizza's but none for the AU ones.
US is a country drippin with grease essentially 😅😂😂😅
They're usually dripping with grease here in Australia too, hers seemed a bit cold
@@cheesusllama depends on store
@@cheesusllamano, Dominos isn’t dripping with grease but all those e chain store pizzas are disgusting
Regular crust gets a drizzle of garlic butter in the US. That's why it's so prominent.
Now we need Food Tours: Australia edition
F*ckin oath !
F**kin oath,absolutely!
You don’t!
Er no we don't - Aussie fast food, truck food, street food etc is awful. Don't get me wrong Melbourne has some great high-end restaurants sure but these guys are all about the street stuff and we have... what? - Maccas, HJs(BK), Red Rooster, KFC, Subway, Dominos and then overpriced burger joints like Huxtaburger which is shit (America has waaaaay better burger places than Aus (plus they have Philly cheese steak, chopped cheese, BBQ, proper fried chicken etc) - then you have crappy fish-n-chip places in Aus that serve frozen crap (brits do FNCs properly) and awful pizza joints and sub par kebab places (again, brits do kebabs so much better) - the only good stuff we have is the Asian stuff in china town but every city has that so it's nothing special. Aussie fast food is crap.
@@pietropes1322 but ain’t you Aussie pride on your beef for the flavor?then what’s for your typical Tucker?
I would like to see this young woman do some videos against some of the other countries like Japan, The U.K. and India because I think she does a really nice job at this .
Best host yet, love how she tries just about everything and gives feedback lol!!
Stop ilysm! Thank you 🥹💕
She's definitely MILES better than Claudia. Claudia was an embarrassment, as much as I like her in other stuff. She also looks Australian as hell, with the dark hair and eyes and long face. If you know you know....
I still love how these episodes come out at 4am here in Australia lmao
I mean... it's still US compared to Australia. This is an American YT channel, and it's noon on the East Coast then lol. Why would you expect them to accommodate to Australian time?
@@nahor88 bro shut up no one asked
I don't know how it is now, but I worked for Dominoes Pizza inside as a manager trainee back in the 80s. The way
we itemized the pizza over a stainless grate over a pull out stainless drawer where the excess
ingredients would fall. The whole purpose of the "Extravagannza" was to clean out the drawers
where we had all these excess ingredients because the pizza had literally every ingredient on the
line on them. Some ingredients you could pick out like pepperoni, beef, sausage, and many veggies
but once anything got olives on it, it was useless for anything but the extravagannza.
In Australia that stuff now has to goto waste. It is scooped out and put into food waste recycling for composting
Fun fact, if you go to an Dominos in , either New Zealand, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark or Taiwan you are actaully going to a Dominos Franchised from an Australian Company.
the aussie large and the usa small being the same size is absolutely not a flex
It's not just pizza but many food items, the small there is large in many nations - that's 1 of the many reasons why obesity/overweightness is higher in the US of A
@rmot2911 agreed
It’s not a big deal. You’re all buying your own large pizza in Australia vs sharing a pizza if you’re in America
As a Brit, I'd call that a medium. No idea how Australia can call that large 🤣
Its the reason usa is more overweight... not being rude just saying fact
That little Dutch pancakes are called Poffertjes in Dutch. We eat them hot with butter and icing sugar.
They're really good :)
I heard it from bites with lily when she was travelling to the Albert cuyp market in Amsterdam.these seems sugar to my face.
Yup the Aussie dominoes ones come hot and have some icing sugar on them. Very yum.
Dominos Australia went through a Massive overhaul years back. They were technically loosing to the other chains at that time. They started catering to Aussie needs and upgrading the quality of their ingredients. Their marketing became better, They achieved the NO GREASE in the boxes, Deliveries were faster and More items in the menu. Also portion sizes and prices were cut and became affordable. Now they are the biggest pizza chain in Aust. Pizza Hut is Nothing, except for their wings.
Yet it still tastes like crap😂
Domnios pizzas Australia has been crap for over 30 years the only thing they had is there sizes there quality of topping is average. and PS pizza hut still rules there supreme and there pepperoni the the pan pizza rules you no nothing from an Aussie.
@@soullessnight6539 I'm a food snob, but Dominos pizzas are actually good. Pizza Hut on the other hand is inedible.
I worked 8 years for domino's the 14" after cooking comes out between 12.5" to 13" and if you take rims out the portion that has cheese and sauce is about 12" inch at the best considering the cheese and topping slide inward towards center 11" is the best you get, so with 14" you get 11" of cheese and topping and the rest is just bread
next time just measure inside the 14" box it's between 13.5" or less
also when you pay extra for double topping you only get 1.5 time more, not twice as much
Can confirm. That's why it's called "Extra" and not "double". Though our code for extra cheese
on the tickets we used to use on the boxes was "2C" inferring it was double.
Can confirm ,Australia’s dommy’s dessert game is sturdy!
I never realized how different Domino's menus could be between the US and Australia. The portion sizes and exclusive items in each country are fascinating! Has anyone tried both versions? Which one do you prefer? I'd love to travel and taste the difference myself someday. Great comparison, really enjoyed the insights.
i missed out last week NOT THIS TIME
love this series
Nice fun facts! Please do this more when possible.
I got to get caught up on the Australia series
Yep. This is the reason to avoid Dominos in Australia. Out of all of the pizza chains Dominos pizzas are the smallest. They shrunk the sizes of their pizzas and raised their prices. Then their CEO wondered why they lost so much market share. The size of their pizzas is ironic since their advertisement used to be "more pizza for your dough".
Yes, I'm sure the large in Australia used to be 12.5 inches. Then shrunk to 10 inches. Then boxes shrunk so it didn't look so bad.
I wanna see Australia vs UK next.
It would be vastly different as in the UK, Domino’s isn’t positioning themselves as a ‘race to the bottom’ like in the US or Australia.
It is better in the UK but more expensive because of that.
@@ChineseKiwiI believe he’s talking about uk vs Australia in general as it would be interesting to see the difference
That would be harder though, the US gotta be in one piece.
@@joshchan2642 it wouldn’t be harder they done it before with uk vs India also India vs us don’t do it in like McDonald’s or pizzas etc but have it what they have a common with like Tim tams (Australia) penguin (uk) there pretty much similar
@@marcusgirling you’ve got a point mate.
The fact that you haven't had a peri peri chicken pizza is reason enough for you to do a food tours Australia series ❤
The Aussie 5$ Dominos pizza used to be my broke backpacker lifeline that carried me through 2 years of insanely good times no matter how dire the circumstances. Everyday was pizza day, best calorie/price ratio - can't convince me otherwise. Love u 'stralia
It certainly is great value.
Could you guys try to list the toppings for each of the exclusive pizzas if it isn’t stated out loud? It’s difficult to know what’s on some of these based on the name alone.
I was thinking the same thing.
or maybe you could just look them up yourself google is free
Joe was doing better with that than the Australian lady. "This is the Lot". "This is the Loaded Supreme". uhh.. ok.
A lot of the things she said were on them weren't right either. @@PapagenoMF
Thanks for the feedback!
Why the hell do we not get stuffed crust in the states?
We do, but it's Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut has a patent on it since like the 90s. Pizza Hut invented it.
Because it's terrible

Love the callback to None Pizza with Left Beef 😂
Until dominos Australia bought out the mini pizza, the half and half was great because me and my mum could get a pizza but still get toppings we both liked. Also Domino’s garlic bread is 🤤
The cheesy garlic bread is better imo
@@southaussiegarbo2054 I need to get it, I don’t often get Domino’s because there isn’t one in my town but the one time I ordered cheesy they gave me the other
I wonder what happened to Pizza Hut. They used to be really big in the 80's.
I prefer Pizza Hut myself, although I could be biased as it was the only pizza place in the town I grew up in, and once I was in high school I worked there for two and a half years. That job paid for a good chunk of my college degree in Electrical Engineering, and to be honest I actually enjoyed working there, but that has to do with who I worked with (small town, everyone knows everyone, most people are friendly).
First time I had Dominos was in college, on Wednesdays they would deliver to the dorms for only $5 a pizza (medium). It was good too, but I still preferred The Hut, but at $9 for a medium (at the time) and a poor college student, Dominos it was.
I enjoy pizza hut also. Domino's seems to me to be salty at times!
13:44 we love pineapple🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻🤝🏻
Loves the hosts. Definitely a nice change of pace. Personally I’ve never tried any of the things from Domino’s that weren’t the Pizzas. Some look good? Some kind of? 🍕 👏 😋
Best video!!! ❤
Awesome Joe.
Forgot about our ice cream sundaes that we have in Aus at dominos. Also we used to stock Coca Cola products but Dominos Aus switched to the pepsi range due to it being slightly cheaper.
My favourite is a super supreme with an egg on top. This pizza consists of mushrooms, capsicum, onion, ham, and pepperoni. But my pizza comes from my local pizzeria as I don’t like domino’s sauce
omg the salted caramel is at the bottom of the mousse, it's so good
Domino's Philly is a poor substitute to their legendary Steak Fanatic pie they made 20 years or so ago, it was DELICIOUS! it was like Steak, Onions and Swiss Cheese, and the Sauce was more a Beefy Gravy than an atypical Pizza Sauce. if i could travel back in time, i'd go back in time, just to taste that Legendary pie again.
I started at Domino's when the Steak Fanatic was introduced, that was my favorite Domino's pizza of all time
yeah, they've not come even close to topping that one, 2005 was the bomb.@@BigDaddyC83
Am glad Capricossa was back love anchovies and kalamata olives. The Godfather is also good especially if it has lots of garlic on it and juicy kalamata olives.
Food Insider set up a top-down angle god dam it! At least a closeup?

Australia Dominos choc lava puff rolls and Lava cakes are really, really delicious!
So it goes well with the pie?😊
What’s a lava cake
@@NicholasJH96 your chocolate “fondant “ mate,innit?
Dominos bread sticks im the usa used to unbelievably good, back in the late 90s. Why did they stop doing them and why didnt they bring them to the uk when they first came here?
after this you need to do UK vs Australia, the 2 countries are culturally similar and so many brits live in australia
Coupla things as child of Italian immigrants, I haven't had Domino's much. What I do know that in Australia, they are everywhere and with coupon, decent value. However most people I know would just go to their local non chain, pizza place.
Theodore Noid???? Love it.
I am still wondering what you use for Buffalo sauce in Aus?... is it Frank's (ie - the real buffalo sauce) or is it just a term for a spicy sauce? Please, educate me!
Domino's claim they use Frank's Red Hot sauce in Australia.
I want as many toppings as possible on my pizza. If my toppings can outweigh the crust/sauce/cheese I'm a happy guy
Australia has very interesting Pizza. This is why I love other countries with food because their varieties and exclusives are out of this world 🤤😋
India watching butter chicken pizza as classic 😂😂😂
Anyone else think the Australian host has been slowed down? Maybe because Aussies normally speak fast?
No, she just is a relaxed person
Domino’s UK, in the run-up to Easter, now have “Crème Egg Cookies” on their menu!
The order prices for all of it be interesting 🤔
YESS FINALY! I always wished they compared the chains in Australia vs America.
Thin crust, BBQ sauce, grilled chicken, pineapple, side of marinara to dip
I have to disagree w/ Joe on the pastas, sandwiches and chicken. While certainly not amazing, I can easily get down w/ a Philly/Italian/Buffalo sandwich, chicken alfredo/sausage & marinara pasta, or Classic Hot Buffalo chicken. Assuming they're fairly fresh (not up to an hour+ old in these videos) and I didn't have to pay full menu price (their regular 3+ items for $5.99/$6.99 ea. deal is kinda nice), that is!
I don't know if this is the case but i think that the pasta is something that you would order as a side dish not main and probably for when your doing a small gathering or party when you don't want to cook i guess. At least that's what i would do for any fast food pasta, especially if it's from pizza places. Either that or for people who have pregnancy cravings and want something semi quick.
What are the ingredients of Australian pizza "Vegerama"? I got interested in this one.
The American pizza sizing is par for the course in NY
It's all when and good you show the variety of ptoducts and what goes into them. I would be more interested in knowing the cost of comparative pizzas and the average wage of that nation. I am shocked at how much the Dominoes pizza costs here in the UK, when compared to a independant Italian restaurant that does takeaway too.
Every Aussie knows never go to Dominos and opt for a local pizza
Dominos Australia has suffered significant shrinkflation. My microwave purchase used to have to support reheating a large dominos and in the past had to tear up the box to get it in. Now the pizzas rattle in the box and the box rattles in the microwave am envious of USA pizza sizes.
FYI for Aussies:
1. The garlic prawn pizza, STAY AWAY FROM IT the prawns normally sit the whole day in the same room temp bain, they do change the bains daily but not the prawns, so they can be a few days old.
2. The four cheese pizza only has three cheeses 🤣
I really dislike Dominos pizza. I can't handle the mountain of salt. I would say most Australians eat pizza from their local store that is run by 'mum and dad' (mom and pop) and there are heaps of those around - speaking from a Melbourne/Sydney perspective, possibly elsewhere too??. Dominos (or Pizza Hut, etc) are for when you are super broke, it's late at night, etc, etc, not for normal pizza times
good video
Domino’s pizza for me (in Australia) is the pizza you buy when your favourite pizza shop is closed. You get much less topping with domino & the bases are very thin. The pizza of last resort.
I look at it this way their consistent and reasonably cheap still but their pizza is awful but even bad pizza is still pretty good
They need to change the name of DEEP pan crust to shallow pan crust! 😂
So who won the price currency conversion rate?
Australian Domino’s used to have ranch which paired well with the buttermilk kickers but they got rid of it which was stupid because not everyone in Australia likes aioli

19:37 it's the "none pizza left beef"!
I love the pasta!

Unions mentioned, let's go!!!!
it is onions not unions
For Americans not familiar with the term, Capsicum is green peppers.
America's small is our large, says it all really...
Yeah we used to have the Philly pizza, but it disappeared
That doesn't look like the Domino's i get at my local. My local they damn near miss the pizza with the toppings. Having said that, i have to get a gluten free pizza and the domino's gluten free is better than any other i've found.
@19:37 none pizza with left beef 😂
Australia dominos was a dive! This was in 2014 so may have improved since. However they were perfect for a backpacker’s budget $4.99 for small pizza.
chicken supreme with thin crust is the best pizza at dominos in australia
Was selling 20" pizzas for under 20 quid a few years ago. People just looked at price and not quality or quantity. Welcome to the UK.
Pizza 🍕 is absolutely delicious
I enjoy my local Domino’s for what it is. Cheap and convenient to order pizza. I do wish they hadn’t made all the sides in the deals an up charge from plain garlic bread.
I wonder if the "secret ingredients" that Domino's doesn't want Australians to know about has something to do with the Impossible meats. They weren't in the uk for suspicious ingredients.
Nice 🙂
very nice and beautiful Yemen
That bottel of water killed me 😅😂
Hi Karan🌹🌹
How are you doing?
I wish the Australian was more descriptive. Tell us what "the Lot" pizza actually is! And what's on the "Loaded Supreme"? I don't think she did her homework on this one.
The lot is the entire ingredient list at dominos. Loaded Supreme is Supreme x2. Not that hard.
Those pizzas are common at most non-traditional pizza places, and the toppings are always the same. Because they’re standard here, she might not have thought to specify the ingredients
33:52 the reason it dont taste like salted caramel is bc there is actual salted caramel sauce at the bottom
Joe we know the US states.
goddamnit, you see! So many better options and yet, here we are again, watching this show!!!
Shut up and take my time damnit!
When Domino's came to Australia, they bought our several smaller franchise's and re-branded them ,eagle boy pizzas, pinkies pizza , pizza haven , the last independent franchise of pinkies Pizza just closed due to their contracts , pinkies had the best ribbs ,
Dominos didn't buy out Eagle boys
They undercut the opposition on price and established more outlets too.
It's more like food valuation or food mathematics
So, the Yass has floppy tips?
I got to go to Australia …
What a beautiful host
I love Domino's, but what is up with that Australian crust? Something is different 🤔
The best thing about Australia & NZ Domino’s is that it’s dirt cheap compared to everywhere else
What happened to all the food at the end of the video
I'll do Dominos maybe once a month and always on a Tuesday as it's buy get one free. I will say this though and why i eat it maybe once a month, same for KFC's giant feast, and that is it sit's like a lead weight in your stomach for a day or 2 after as you finish off leftovers 😁
Damn, the Godfather is like my favourite Dominoes pizza xD I find the chicken wings feral though. They were so rubbery and yuck.
