US vs UK Foreign Exchange Season 1 Marathon | Food Wars | Insider Food
After a day working, I can relax to this now.
Same! Lol and now I’m getting McDonald’s breakfast on my way home haha
Its a scOhne not a scon
@@thathonkvision did you mean to reply to me mate?
yea its a joke MATE@@Star_Joker
Love how well you two get along, the camaraderie and humour makes these videos
The reason the uk doesn’t have many grape flavoured things is bc the “purple” flavour in the uk/Europe was blackcurrant. And growing blackcurrant didn’t get banned here like it did in the US.
Edit: I think I learned this from BA gourmet makes, so I definitely expected Harry to know this ;)
well there is your problem isnt it.... i mean uk is already fat as it is so, just add the artificiall flavors
@@erikmajestic8044ironic
@@erikmajestic8044bets he’s amer*can
I thought it was because the US has a thriving wine culture, where the UK is too damp and cloudy for grapes.
@@davidhermosillo1686funnily enough due to changes in weather the UK actually has quite a few vineyards and produces some great wine now!
Great vid! Love to two together, great contrast in characters and it “Gels” really well. Loud funny American & “‘posh” dry humoured English guy. Hope you continue doing vids together!
Omg you guys this is amazing they put so much effort into there videos!
Awesome job 👏👏👏
Awesome job joe and harry
the U.K. KFC vegan burger truly is surprisingly edible, we tried it during the panny when they were literally out of actual chicken and it came in clutch, but you’re dead wrong about the hashy on the stacker, it’s brill
It’s pretty good 👍
"Hashy" - what a knob
"Panny" is that what you call the pandemic?
I’m truly upset by the existence of the word “panny”
There are regional specials for places across North America, since it's so huge. For example, on the East coast of Canada, you can get lobster sandwiches and other lobster products year-round.
"Canadian bacon" is basically peameal bacon. It's a pork loin, not belly like most bacon so it's a lot leaner.
"I dont think millionaires are eating these" your ex billionaire president ate mcdonalds evey day lol
The credits scene with Harry eating the corn on the stick was amazing.
I think the absolute banger is banger as in 'sausage' rather than banger as in 'excellent' considering the variety of sausages that looked to be on there.
Thank you they changed the veggie burger from a nice patty to dippers in a bun 😭😭
I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact KFC UK does not sell mashed potatoes & gravy. The first time I went to London, I just landed and KFC was the first place I saw. I ordered some chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy, but the cashier told me they don't sell it because they sell mash & gravy everywhere at chip shops etc.
Exactly right
What are you talking about? KFC UK has mashed potato and gravy sides
They have both as individual sides now, but they don't sell mashed potatoes & gravy (together) like the US does. For the reason I stated above.@@Jambunctious
Here in the states,we did fry our McDonalds apple pies..but changed it to baked a few years back..we're still not happy about it 😕
At least it held your Diabetes back (3 weeks maybe)
You should try Canada
McDonald’s has hot tea and it’s good. It’s a black tea with orange blossom
😊
Also, when KFC came out with "HotWings" in the 80's, they had 4 flavor intensities: mild, medium, hot, and "Nuclear" ( the last one may have been an Arizona exclusive because I've never found it anywhere else). With the Nuclear option, you could no longer taste the chicken.
THE COKE AT MCDONALD'S HAS SUGAR REAL SUGAR
I think you should do a food war between Brazil and the USA
Y’all forgot about the Chicken McGriddle… most underrated breakfast sandwich from McDonald’s imo. Chicken n pancakes, I mean c’mon. Perfect combo of sweet n salty paired with crispy n soft texture… ugh great..looks like I’m gettin McDonald’s breakfast today
I’m from the UK and the mrs is from Tennessee, one thing that blew her mind about our different takeaways and fast food differences was definitely domino’s.
She said the difference in cheese quality was a big difference and that American cheese was lacking.
You should compare UK to Canada McDonald's... Americans say our mcdonalds is better... I'm sure almost the same, but ours is a bit less greasy, we use Canadian beef and potatoes (we have some of the best potatoes in the world) I've also never seen such a sad "deluxe" sandwich... ours is WAYYY better than that
I want to go back to the uk to grab some more sweet curry idk why it works but it just does. Also when I went the last time they had a limited time Cadbury McFlurry which was really good
Is it possible that the UK fodd seems more "bland" because the additives allowed in food is more restrictive?
I think it's probably more that there's been public health pushes to reduce salt.
Spices, herbs, MSG and other flavour enhancers that increase umami are not restricted, and I don't think anyone is missing the flavour of artificial colouring.
Yes that’s why we’ll get cancer first
You gotta put condiments on the biscuits 😭 jelly and mustard
What kind of monster doesn't eat pickles?
They should get a car freeze or portable freezer . The frozen drinks and foods would make it to the studio.
Too expensive..lmao otherwise I feel like they would of thought of that by now?
The Tandor chicken sounds interesting, but I agree with Joe. No peppers on Hawaiian pizza and no sliced hotdogs on pizza.
How do you manage to get the international fast food items? It seems like you're all in the same room in one location.
I hate to shatter the illusion but Joe came to the UK and Harry went to the US, just not at the same time as they shot different series in the UK (with Joe visiting) and then US (with Harry visiting)...
I just can’t get over the amount of cold, stale fast food these poor guys have to eat for these videos. 😢
Anyone hoping too, that Joe and Harry become besties in real life? 😮
They seem to get along really nicely when they do meet in person in front of a camera (which they have).
You really need to add Australia in the mix.
Finally the og's
The famous bowl is so good! It's a perfect stoner snack! It has a little bit of everything you want--mashed tats, corn, chicken, and cheese (plus gravy if you want, I'm not a gravy fan). It's so perfect!
Great vid guys. I'm subscribed so I don't know why it hasn't notified me of your vid.
One thing though..
No Toffee Latte from the UK Mukky D ?
[Edit]
Here in Peterborough (UK) we really wouldn't go for Dominoes.
We'd have Papa Luigi or Pizza Express
We had the roder bacon king on the menu in 2018ish back when I worked there in Washington state lol, I hope I’m remembering that correctly and didn’t just make it for myself on my breaks 😂
Nice
1:38:40
Do a UNC rebuild please!!
The large drinks are for people like my boyfriend who can finish mine and his large drink in like 2 minutes lol
10:05 I spat my drink out for that 😂 wtf McDonalds
Season2
How can we trust a guy that throws the pickles
Do a Reeses Pieces!
I really wish Harry would stop saying thay British people cant really differentiate between Breakfast Biscuits and Scones. I get that they look vaguely (to me it's very vague) similar but not enough to be interchangeable and trick the mind. Its just dense, drier, tall breaddy dough in a circilar shape (the only similarity to a scone imo) the texture is visible different (before even breaking into it) to me, I just don't see where the confusion is 🙃
Edit: spelling mistakes!
they look virtually identical...
hey insider food in south florida the soda cup from costco food court its 26 fl oz
Would love to be the Canadian version in the series if possible, don't think it would happen tho lol
Have you ever thought about doing a UK vs USA starburst video
Pretty sure what harry thought was rice in the burger king breakfast burritos was actually hashbrowns 😅
We have Steak egg and cheese bagels which are so great.
I miss Food Tours, the wars have endedf.
I visited Washington recently from the uk and had 2 drink of Hawaiian punch and a bit of Fanta along with my breakfast and lets say it was spread across the main park in Washington, way to sweet for me
"Whats more American than apple pie"
Well actshually... Apple pie is British.
I love the eggnormouse burrito that's my go to at burger king
The double cheeseburger became too expensive for what used to be the dollar menu, so they came up with the Mcdouble to replace the double cheeseburger. That extra piece of cheese cost almost an extra dollar when they first came out, and don't get me started on the breakfast sandwiches. Apparently an egg costs upwards of $2.00. A sausage Mcmuffin is a dollar, and a sausage Mcmuffin with egg is $3 and some change.
Oh, and if you think that dri k and fries were big, you should have seen SuperSized. Made the ones you have look like what medium used to be.
its weird, i hate whatever UK bacon they slap into fast food but home cooked UK bacon is far better, probably because at home we actually do more than "cook" it over a warm lightbulb for a few minutes, im 100% all in on UK home cooked crispy bacon.
It feels like the music leaves then come back during the first portion?
Feels rather strange.
Joe - (I think) the absolute banger at Dominos was named so because it is covered in Sausages 😂 which are called bangers in some parts of the UK
the mcgriddles are probably one of the best US mcdonalds items. also i agree it's a crime that they got rid of popcorn chicken. they were very popular so it makes no sense.
that flaming hot snack wrap looked good tbh. i always hear from aussies the zingers are the best KFC menu item or chicken sandwich. man it's a crime we don't have those memphis BK burgers in US, might actually save BK.
i remember a while back, BK had this breakfast item that was like mini cinnamon buns and they were godlike. i completely forgot about the pies they had there.
it's really bothering me that Harry is having the (english) muffins without grape jam/jelly and the biscuit from kfc without gravy. it doesn't feel like an authentic representation.
Hi insider food could you do a season with Australia please
Wait Harry, you guys get hot fries from McDonald's in the UK? What is that like?
It's over already?
McCrispy in Canada is huge and so freakin good.. Like real actual chicken breast. Its not pressed ground chicken like the McChicken or Junior chicken.
lol bro the canadian one is trash what are you saying. the american one is better
Depends on location too of course..
@@tchen4484 the recipe is universal though. a bad sandwich is a bad sandwich. the core recipe makes the freshest of canadian mcdonalds sub par. trust me I just moved to america and the recipe difference is significant. its not a health issue either because chick fil a came to canada uncompromised, mcdonalds is just cheaping out on canadians and upcharging
@@tchen4484 we deserve better from these guys
Hmmmm I've heard tons of Americans say our mcdonalds in Canada is better quality so to each their own I suppose
Where are they able to get bot US and UK McDonald's?
The major supermarkets kicked up a fuss when costco opened. So a law was created that they have restricted membership i think its the same in Australia. The Korean bake is sold in Korea.
The double cheeseburger use to be on the dollar menu. When prices started to rise they took away a piece of cheese and the McDouble was born and replaced the double cheeseburger on the dollar menu.
At least they have vegan options there. I for one was upset about the Mcplant not being released nationally.
cry about it
Im very surprised UK burgerking seems much better than the US... and also i agree tuna and sweetcorn doesn't belong on pizza....pineapple does though 😮😂😂
Suka betapa rukunnya kalian berdua, persahabatan dan humor yang tercipta dalam video ini
How do they get the food?
The only grip I ever have with Harry is that he keeps saying our lemonade is like sprite, which is so lazy - just cos its carbonated. UK Lemonated is carbonated lemonade, but Sprite has lemon and lime, too many people now seem to think that our lemonade is 7up and sprite. Its not, its lemonade but carbonated. It has no lime flavour.
Fingers crossed its vegan mayo 🤞

If I had to guess the banger pizza is because bangers = sausages here
🤩
That is not a big Mac anymore. When I was a kid, it was huge. You couldn't finish it. Just like the whopper. You couldn't hold it with one hand which was the advertisement and it was true.
For the KFC famous bowl, in the words of Patton Oswalt, it’s a failure pile in a sadness bowl
Damn, Britain got screwed on the McNuggets. They used the blandest, driest part of the chicken, and also don't season it.
This was on then i fell asleep unconcious me how was the video
....
i dont understand why when something is labelled as spicy people just expect it to be fire and brimstone in your mouth xD
Are the McD ice cream machines really broken or just not cleaned, so they do not meet health and sanitation standards for operation?
do popeyes next
45 mins in, so far. TL:DR All British food tastes blander and looks paler because it's not pumped full of chemicals and Joe loves MSG.
and British bacon kinda sucks!
UK ketchup is made with sugar, while the US version is made with High Fructose Corn Syrup, that syrup is what makes the US version so sweet and is also responsible for the high level of diabetes within the US population.
US McDonald's the difference between mcdouble and double cheeseburger is 1 slice of cheese correct but McDonald's charges 50cents for a slice of cheese
How do you get the uk food to the usa?
He filmed his part when he went to the UK.
Hotcakes, pancakes and flapjacks are exactly the same thing. Just U.S. regional vernacular.
American bacon is what I call pork scratchings ..... :-)
Omg Harry has gotten bigger since his time working here no shade tho bc they say the camera adds like 10lps on
Mambo sauce is the best sauce McDonald's has ever had.
god the audio difference in ep 2 bc their using a lav mic threw me off
4:15
Does anyone else think Joe could play Rick from Rick and Morty? No?
First :)!!
did no one tell him that the BK breakfast burrito "rice" was actually hashbrowns?
KFC did have corn on the cobb a long time ago.....
They still have it in Jamaica... so buttery ❤
HOW MUCH IS THE McBILL!!! GOT DAMN DO THEY HAVE THE McRIB N THE UK
Joe way to Man up Merica lol
sour cream and chive dip is probably the only thing the UK can do well
Worst take on the history of the internet
If the chocolate chip cookies are warm then ordering milk is a must.
