Amazing!
Insane dude, nice. Makes me feel much better about my Tiguan R purchase after owning a jeep cherokee that I was having fun in off-roading
I went from a Tacoma to a Tiguan, so I’m with ya.
Nice setup! i've been overlanding since early 2020 with my 2018 Tiguan SE 4Motion. I was one of the first in Utah with RTT on my MQB Tiggy. Now hitting 100K over 8 cross-country roadtrips, close to 100 nights camped throughout state and national parksand boondocking all over the country in my roof top tent. I've only really tweaked my RTT setup, added new 3 min memory foam, with two foam camping pads as my base of the tent, then full length reflective radiant barrier then my extra wide inflatable camping pad(inflate before use, deflate when packing up), under my upgraded 3 inch memory foam mattress. creates a insulated, flush sleeping system. Also have a 12v mattress heating pad for cold camping, like truckers use, all while inside my 800fill down bag. All my camping supplies in heavy duty black and yellow totes, got my 12v fridge a few coolers, a few ecoflow LIPO battteries, and i've pretty much set for what i plan on doing. Was always wanting a more powerful heating setup and complete insulation for winter camping, never really got around to doing that since i'm now back in the southeast and winters aren't as bad. Really came to the same conclusion as you that diesel heaters where the best option, but didn't want to deal with diesel smell or storage/spill. I think i may go with a propex propane heater setup when i move back out west.
@@zar187 the diesel heater had been great but storing and transporting the fuel is a pain with the Tiguan
Are you aware of the maximum Tiguan roof/rail loading? Your weight alone would have used up near all the allowable load weight. And then you add a dog and all the other stuff.
From the Owners Manual (assuming i cite the correct manual):
"The maximum permissible roof load for vehicles without a roof railing is 165 lbs. (75 kg) and for vehicles with a roof railing, 220 lbs. (100 kg). The roof load is the combined weight of the roof rack and the items being carried on the roof".
Yep…it’s suggested. They are tested for dynamic weight, not static and those numbers you see are far less than what is acceptable for insurance purposes. As you can see, zero issues for the most part and it’s something we monitor closely.
Been running this set up for a little over 4 years and have yet to have any issues with the factory rails. However we have been looking for a company that wants to manufacture an aftermarket system to replace the factory rails.
We have reduced the weight with switching to a lighter RTT but still no issues. 👍🏻🤘🏻
I am loving your VW I needed ideas to take mine for off road car camping
Bro.. Its awesome..!!🔥
Thanks for posting! I was curious about mods and a lift on my 24 Tiguan.
Which tire size and how much is the suspension ....wich brend
@@scalerdriving860 he mentions the tire seize in the video but I’ll have him answer the other stuff shortly
Awesome build! Nobody ever talks about the auto levelling headlight arm attached to the rear arms when talking about lift kits. What did you do there?
It doesn’t have auto leveling headlights, that’s only on the SEL premium r-line. If it did, it’s only a 1.5” lift so it should be fine
I have the 225/55R18 Yokohama All Terrain tyres with 18” rims. That ok for the Tiguan 2019 2TDI 4motion ? Specs correct vs what I swapped the standard 20” with?
What’s your offset on your 18’s? 18” is the smallest you can go without hitting your calipers. Tire size you might rub a little bit a little trimming of the lower section of your inner fender liner and you’re good.
Nice build!!
dBy any chance would you add a list of mods/brands/parts you got?
Most of it is through B2B Fab but I can ask Nate if he can get me a list and I’ll post it here in the comments later today
Thank you as well interested in the way the pioneer rack attached to the OEM bars. @@RogueElement
@@israelmontalvo5609 it’s attached with RR vortex cross bars and their rail attachment. It’s not an ideal setup and we are currently doing some R&D for a backbone system…hopefully it works out
What was used to hold the offroad lights in the front grill.??
@@Mario_Andretti. that’s a bracket made by B2B Fab
@@RogueElement Thanks a lot for the information.
Hey guys, do you find the K02 tyres noisy on normal/highway driving? Also, do the B2B spacers make the ride any different on road? Thanks! Btw, big fan of your Tig, I'm in Aus and looking to lift and add AT tires to my Tig in time for our summer 😊
@@ShaneMitchell-f6t no the K02’s weren’t noisy at all but the Kanati’s we have on their now are quieter and perform better. The spacers aren’t from B2B they are from customwheeladapters.com
@RogueElement that's good to know! My apologies, not the spacers, the lift kit from B2B - Do they compromise ride quality on normal roads/highways?
@@ShaneMitchell-f6t no worries…no the lift literally makes everything better. If you’re on instagram, Nate has a ton of info on the setup and answers questions in DM’s really quickly too.
KO2’s are actually not very noisy at all. However if your looking for a tire that will perform well for the Tiguan, Kanati Terra Commanders actually out perform them with this rig
Looking to buy a roof platform for our 2021 Tiguan. Which dimensions is the platform you used? Are you connected directly the side rails or do you have cross racks underneath the platform? Were there any issues clearing the antenna in the back?
Thanks in advance
Honestly we would recommend waiting till Rhino Rack releases their new series 6 platform. It’s more aero dynamic, so it’s quieter and less resistance as well as half the weight of the series 5. We will let everyone know when the new series has been released.
@@RogueElement would still like to know the dimensions of the rack you used
@@robertgarvey5744 76x49 pioneer was on it in this video
What is the hub adapter Brand and all that
Bronson hubs, 5x114.3 with a hub centric ring for the Raceline wheels of 72.62mm
20mm adapter
Do You changued the original front shock absorber or still use?
It’s stock but we’re getting ready to do some R&D with a big shock company and also update the whole suspension to go medium travel. Also selling the current roof top tent and going with a lighter setup to gain more ground clearance
What are the dimensions of the wheels and tires?
Wheels are a 17x9.5 with an offset of 35. Tires are 245/ 65/ R17
Who makes the light bracket, and how hard is it to install and wire the light?
Which light?
I’d like to know how the front spotlights have been mounted through the grille.

Cool 😎 I love it
Is this Tiguan a Diesel or a Petrol?
Petrol
What is the roof rating of the Tiguan?
I believe it’s around 200 pounds dynamic which is about where he was at in this video but has since dropped way under that.
@@RogueElement that’s not bad! Thought it would be a lot less than a Fortuner but hey that’s kinda cool
@@sambowks remember to, it’s most likely much higher because insurance and manufactures will greatly reduce those numbers for liability reasons.
Hey, is this the Tiguan Allspace with longer wheelbase or the normal Tiguan?:)
Normal
Just doesn’t have enough suspension travel for my taste. Better off bagged 🎉
Bagged is garbage Offroad. We are working on a medium travel suspension… or a lot out there on the market for custom suspensions unless you have $20k to drop on it.
dude spent more money on decals and didnt even touch the suspension lol what kinda mindset???
You’re a real genius eh? He just said there’s very few options and it’s something he’s working on. We’re currently working with multiple companies for a medium travel kit…that kind of mindset!
