- This is just a quick walk around an IBC 1000l pod that I made in to a quick and east fire fighting unit that I can also water the garden with.
Hello Im Lance (aka Bundy Bear) and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advise to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you dont see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advise at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.
Cool . I have an IBC strapped to a trailer frame i made & will mount a pump as well , we just use it on the property for getting water to the new trees . Cheers .
We use this every week Max it is a handy bit of gear around here for sure.
We use the same thing in our brush trucks here in West Tennessee we put f500 foam in the tanks to smother out the grass fires.
I had not thought of foam, I might look into it.
I painted my IBC with house paint to make it last in the sun.
Good idea
Would it be possible to see it working ? I’m keen to see how she goes. Also interested in seeing how the hose reel nozzle works👌
I did on one of my earlier stews Ill have a look back.
Bundy Bears Shed thank you ! I appreciate it
Covers the bases Lance 👍
Yep short and sweet.
Your forklift most go much better in the dirt than ours do. Half the year you couldn't drive a forklift like that around here unless it was on gravel or pavement.
Never bloody rains here Brian , lol. If it does you need to stay on the tracks though, and then we dont need to water anyhow.
on your TEE where you are putting a Cam Lock fitting, I would suggest putting a Storz coupling instead as it will be much easier to connect and you won't break the cam lock lugs off.
Ok thanks.
great idea would love to see it in action and how much distance it get and how long you get out of a tank thanks
Tank lasts about 30-40 minutes and shoots about 20 foot
@@BundyBearsShed thanks for the reply just thinking of doing something similar but on a trailer
Good set up Lance.........?.John
Yeah its handy around here without any fires.
great setup ,question how do you store unit in winter no videos around my unit will be outside so any advise would be helpful cheers JIM
Mine just stays outside we dont have frost or snow here so we use it to water the trees.
What are the specifications of that suction poly pipe? I imagine it would have to be a high pressure rating so not to collapse under the suction.
No just normal agricultural poly I had laying around. The water is close to the pump so it doesn't seem to matter.
nice
Thanks
Great video Lance, I've been meaning to build something like this for a while now. One question, if you're starting and stopping the hose a lot does that cause an issue for the pump (when the hose is off). Would you need to crack the recirculating valve a touch to allow water to continue to flow through?
G Day Tim, No issues so far there is not a lot of pressure though but in saying that I dont let it run for long like that either.
A pressure relief valve set to blow off a touch below the piump shut off head (max pressure ) is standard on most pro fire apparatus. Keeps the pump volute from over heating and burning out the pump shaft seals.
