I literally grew up watching this movie, thanks to my dad. Playing and especially watching my friends play this game, I felt like I was experiencing an extension of the actual movie. For me, this is by far the best game adaptation of an actual movie. Hands down! If you haven't already, I would love to see SCARFACE. Didn't even know there was a game! Great work Holmes!!
Nostalgic Vibes for sure, I was playing The Warriors with some friends during my childhood almost non-stop, a Masterpiece gem of Rockstar, no debate whatsoever.. ☯️🙆🏻♂️👌✌️
The execution animations when grab a enemy are great, they a flashing in the right way , enough to make you think that would actually work in street fight.
Dude the player showing damage on his body means you don't have to take your eyes off the action to see what your health is at. Great for a fighting game.
The PSP version was awesome too! It just had less enemies on the screen from what I understand, so some missions were harder and others were easier. I should have probably mentioned that.
All the nostalgia ❤ A mate of mine picked this up about a year after release we got back to his after a night out and put it on, i didn't go home for 3 days while we rinsed it 😂 i hoped at the time rockstar might have implemented the fighting mechanics in gta but sadly that hasn't happened yet.
@@NoMooreMercyTV yeah, I know at the time 4 came out there were a lot of folk complaining because they'd changed this that and the other but I just saw that as an evolution of the game, less arcade like driving etc but you know how people can be when they get the torches and pitch fork's out because something's different 😂
This game made me seek out the warriors movie because it must have been good if Rockstar of all companies decided to make a video game based on it and I thought it was a great movie and made me watch some other movies by the same director (48hrs and streets of fire) but I have actually yet to play this game because of how expensive copies are and It unfortunately never came to Xbox backwards compatibility :(
I definitely think it's the best licensed game of all time. You pretty much described it in the video. It actually enhances the movie because you get some more backstory in the game It also captures the essence of the film perfectly and the game itself is a awesome fun time. It's sad how rockstar has resorted to milking gta 5 for a decade because they were a amazing developer before they were consumed by greed. Honestly they where the best they couldn't miss back then everything on the ps2 and 360 was gold pretty much. I recently played the manhunt games and red dead revolver both incredible games more so with manhunt but revolver captures the spaghetti western style pretty well. As far as licensed games the only other great games I can think of at the moment where the james bond games.
That PS2/Xbox-PS3/Xbox 360 era, Rockstar really was untouchable like you said. It was just banger after banger after banger. That run will never be replicated again. I covered Red Dead Revolver & the Manhunt games on the channel last year, make sure you check those out too!
The best licensed game!? Nope, that belongs to ET for the Atari. Jk, I'd have a hard time picking one game. Goldeneye 007, The Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher's Bay, Aliens Vs Predator 2, The Punisher, The Darkness, Terminator Resistance, etc. But yeah, The Warriors was good too. Btw, I did a complete play through of Cold Winter since you've been gone. Pretty good, shame it hasn't gotten remastered along with a bunch of other solid PS2 FPS games.
Ha! My parents unironically love ET, I think they still have buyers remorse all these years later 😂. As for Cold Winter, I'm glad you checked it out! It's pretty cool right? Pretty underrated. Doubt we get a remake or remaster but still, neat game.
😂😂 you lost me in literally the first 2 seconds.. "The Warriors was one of the greatest films of all time". Hahahaha the movie sucked!!! The game was better than the movie
A newly revamped remake or reboot of this game would've been a 100x better than that Defective Edition! Maybe someday they will but I doubt it! Lame ass Rockstar / Take Two... 🙄🫤😑😑🤦🏽
I think out of all of the Rockstar games from that era, The Warriors is the least likely to be revisited beyond a patch to fix the game on PS5. It's really sad too.
Dang, it feels good to be back! I'm hoping to get back on a consistent schedule again with this one, let me know what you think! Thanks for watching!

Scarface game SLAPS. That'll be covered someday, keep an eye out. It's a lot like this game where it expands the universe.
seriously, this game was sooo popular around my local kids.. we actually made a group of gangster based on the group name😂
Have you seen there is a real gang in New York called The Warriors? I don't know if they're just cosplaying or if they're legit, but yea haha.
@@NoMooreMercyTV damn!? really?!

Honestly, I remember this game being even better than the movie
Glad to see you back at em that old channel turned 13 years old
Ha, I'm surprised anyone still checks those old videos out! Thanks for stopping by!
My childhood needed this game thank you warriors 🙏🏿

Good point!
When I was a kid I played the king of the hill mode vs ai bots over and over and over and over again lol. Loved this game man I had it psp

Another outstanding review and deep dive breakdown. Standing ovation bro.
Thank you!
I actually bought the game because of it's cover art just like Manhunt. I was not disappointed👍
Glad you enjoyed it bro!

I doubt they ever will, I did enjoy GTA IV's combat for what it was tho. Some of the better hand to hand combat in the entire series imo.
@@NoMooreMercyTV definitely, it's a shame they stripped a lot of the new stuff implemented in 4 from 5 and went back to a more San Andreas feel.
@Wolfnstone outside of the character switching mechanic i thought 5 was a downgrade in almost every other way.

When you said this or Scarface? I knew we understood each other lol. I want them both to get a remakes
Ha! Truth
Multiplayer was actually really fun to play!
It was! Thanks for helping me record it!
This game needs a remaster

If you're a fan of the director, check out The Driver. Badass movie with some cool car chase scenes.
If you wanna a suggestion for actually good licensed movie games, I love a video on Chronicles of Riddick: Eacape from Butcher Bay.
I've heard great things about this one, I'll def have to check it out!
Like to see you cover Bully
It's definitely one I'm looking at! Thanks for the suggestion.
Very gang violence, very swag. I like it 🔫👮
haven't finished the video but theres rarely vids on this anyways

Another great film game is Spider-Man 2 for the PS 2 you would be amazed at how close the gameplay is to the current games
I definitely have to try these out someday, I didn't play these growing up but they look fantastic.
good video I like

Scarface or The Godfather are the best movie game adaptions hands down
They're amazing games!
Rockstar has fell off hard, they could of made nuff great games by now instead of milking gta
Yep, they've basically become another Activision. Putting all their eggs in one basket.
😂😂 you lost me in literally the first 2 seconds.. "The Warriors was one of the greatest films of all time". Hahahaha the movie sucked!!! The game was better than the movie
The game was better! But the movie still slaps
