That was great to watch. I get confused because I have a container aquarium similar to this and when I post things online about it, people tell me it is abusive to my animals to not have an air stone in the tank and a filter etc even though I can see that my little aquarium is doing fine with its balance.

Nice. Cherries are nice and easy and breed super quick. Make sure you let the shrimp have its babies before introducing the Betta (if you want more shrimp that is), once the fish is in, the babies will be eaten lol. I'd say 10-20 would be no issue at all, as long as they have places to hide and aren't too crowded. There are plenty of plants and floating plants keeping the water clean and oxygenated for them.

Add a small layer of soil, maybe 1/2", top it off with about 2" of sand. Add as many plants in there as you can fit. Leave the tank to cycle itself for about a month. If you add a snail or something it will cycle quicker. Once the plants have started growing again, it should be safe to add shrimp, but always test the water beforehand.
