You are an inspiration! I went out on a one day backpacking trip this weekend, only my 2nd time ever. Tottal newb here. Every time I crossed a stream I found myself saying " river crossin ! ". You're creating a cult.
Another awesome video. You have a lifelong friend in Derek. What a great Trail Angel. You tell such a wonderful story , as you hike along, both the ups and downs. Thanks so much for taking us along.
Thank you for the encore.... and the applause continues. Isn't it wonderful to realize there is an amazing creation given to us to enjoy and and an even greater creator with that still small voice that has protected you several times. Thanks again for sharing and hope you weathered Idalia safely! Till next time?
3:32 just look at what god made amen to that 💯. I really enjoyed watching you hikeing everyday early in the morning while i was working At 2am everyday. Glad you had a great time. Looking forward to your next journey much love ❤️
Hello Roadrunner! Thank you for this summary video of your TRT trip. I am looking into doing the TRT next year. I recently got home from hiking about 50 miles in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Thank you for another fantastic video recapping your hiking adventures. I, like others who watch your channel, have that hiking bug and appreciate your videos to help calm our spirit when we can’t make it to a trail. You’re the best. - Jiffy Pop 😊
Excellent video. I watched your AT videos and it was so good to follow you as you experienced the trail alone. Thanks for sharing. I’m 61 and will be doing my first backpacking trip in May 2024. I’m inspired!
Thanks so much for your TRT video. What an amazing trail. Loved your thoughts on being alone on this trail leading to feeling accomplished and more confident in yourself. Thanks again. Peace and happy trails.
I prefer hiking alone. I truly enjoy my own company. But never ignore others if they are near me. Glad you and Derek had fun together. Sorry you had to experience rude and inconsiderate night hikers. That bear can must have been horrible to carry. Glad you met Shayla. Glad you listened to your gut feeling. Your an inspiration to so many people. 🥾🥾🥾
Great video! I also got emotional when you were crying… I can’t even imagine how happy you were! You need to move to an area where you can do hiking every weekend! Maybe closer to your mom’s or New Hampshire to hike the whites and Franconia every weekend 🥰 there are lots of dance schools here in the New England area 💁🏼♀️
Not only does the PCT Permit pledges include not talking loudly near others common decency requires it. I actually have had that (crying) happen several times and think it is because of all the videos I've seen and at pivotal moments (signing the walls at the Sandy Eggo REI, Campo, touching the So TH Monument, getting my first ride in Idyllwild, et cetera) it's a dream come true!
Nicely done. Just finished the trail myself September 9th completing in 11 but was planning for 12 however got caught in that heavy rain in the Tahoe Meadows area taking a zero day at Mt. Rose Campground because the following day would've been disatrous up on Relay Peak with the freezing hail experienced at camp (snowing above) plus much more rain and cross winds. Seems everybody played hooky that day. Made up for it the next two days of major mileage. All part of the great experience. Enjoyed it soooo much. On to the JMT next permits permitting. Made me smile more than once watching your video. (:
Sounds like 2023 was a weird year, maybe due to the late snow shuffling schedules? CW is definitely the most common. In '22 I did CCW from Kingsbury S end of June and met 2 going my way, but probably dozens going CW! Going against the PCT flow was kindof fun as I got a better idea of just how many there were. 🤷♂️
Another excellent video, Roadrunner. Showing your resilience as usual. Now, I don't want to poo-poo your mozzie prison, but I'm sorry, that's nothing compared to Scottish midges when camping. Just watch Edward Fitzpatrick's video "The Worst Midges I've Experienced: Cape Wrath Trail - Day 8 & 9" to see what I mean. There are other horror stories from Scotland about these tiny blighters, too.
Say, have you considered the Slovene Mountain Trail? Is that something you could do with your Dad? The Wander Women are doing it now. Sure looks oh-so-beautiful…and YOU could do it!
I believe they call those horse fly. They care small pieces of your skin with them when they land on a human. Plus, they bite real fast and then run away. lol!! Good luck. SloMoe

That is awesome!
You are one gutsy lady. We are big fans. You are never alone. All our love Chris and Mark.

Well done! Nice recap of your TRT hike. What a gorgeous area! Best.
It really is!
This was a great “take two” of your TRT hike. I enjoyed it very much!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Amazing video always
Thanks again!
Great storytelling and nice video editing. I laughed when you used your trekking pole as a golf club on the pine cone!

Wow, thank you
What a different hike. It sure isnt the AT but beautiful. Looking forward to the next experience. ATB
You and me both!
This looks to be a great trail. I’d sort of like the solitude it would offer. You did a great job of sharing this adventure. Thanks.
I really loved this trail
Fantastic to Watch this video on the Tahoe Rim Trail !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great recap! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!

Well done. That boonie hat kicks ass by the way.
Thank you
You are an inspiration for me to stay home . You are tough . And beautify .
Wow, thank you

So awesome . Sounds like your hike had much more intense moments

I loved the director's cut. Amazing that you were able to get it down to 35 minutes. Excellent video. FYI your wish list link has expired per Amazon.
Ooooooh thanks for telling me .
Did you hear mcsingleton paid for water caches? Didn't know of that service but something to consider if/when you do the PCT.
Yes now that you mentioned it I do remember
Trail depression seems to be a common and real thing for long distance hikers.
Yeah unfortunately
When are you going to do the PCT or CDT? Can’t wait for those vids
Hopefully sooner than later

Also, could you share your rationale for going clockwise versus anti-clockwise?
Well done.
Thank you
Just think some day if you would had a family with kids you all could have hiked a long trail together .
Say, have you considered the Slovene Mountain Trail? Is that something you could do with your Dad? The Wander Women are doing it now. Sure looks oh-so-beautiful…and YOU could do it!
I am training for the TRT 2025. I am watching your “Alone on Trail - TRT Documentary and want to know what month you were at TRT?
End of July/beginning of August
Which was busier, the AT or the TRT?
The AT had more Thru Hikers.
I believe they call those horse fly. They care small pieces of your skin with them when they land on a human. Plus, they bite real fast and then run away. lol!! Good luck. SloMoe
Thanks
Ok dancer I want only shorts to be worn 😂 No really I'm serious😬
Lol
It’s just sad if u would have came before the pandemic hardly anyone would be on those trails . Tahoe is extremely over populated now .
Really? I feel like there was nobody on trail. At least not any other thru hikers
