Becky, you have all of my admiration and respect for demonstrating the courage and fortitude to not only undertake this trip, but to put yourself "out there" for us. Your frankness in sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings show your true grit. Can I wish for a helmet cam to catch the water/terrain challenges? Always hopeful, Jerry 😅😮❤
I am a 70-year-old Icelander, and I enjoyed traveling with you and seeing my country through your eyes. I walked my first and only highland trip this summer, the so-called Laugavegur trail, from Landmannalaugar to Þórsmörk. It was a challenge for an old man, but I turned out to be in fine shape. Thanks for this great video.
I wonder how the parents feel? Would be nice to hear their point of view. It is always easy to respond to a person online who films it and you know, there are also those who went silent afterwards it was a tragedy. But we all like to hear of tragic events and how we all came through!
Can I just say the biggest thank you to you - I cannot explain how inspiring and empowering it is for me to see another woman around my age doing such bold and epic adventures, and just living her life how she wants. You make me feel as if I can have the same level of adventure if I just keep working at building up my experience, and I would never have even entertained that without watching your videos over the years. This one has inspired me most of all. You kicked absolute ass. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I moved from london to a small fjord in Iceland 8 years ago. It’s a beautiful place but it’s so dangerous, the weather is no joke. Well done, true spirit.
Fun video - as an Icelander I would never even dream of doing this, this wind and the cold is just to much for me, thankfully we have a lot of hot water in the ground so our homes are warm and cosy.
Stumbled over your video ... and subscribed. You are a fighter, bravo. Congratulations to your trip and to the wonderful filming, music and very nice sensitive comments. Happy to be joining you in your adventures!
What a trip! Brought back memories and also showed what I should have seen at times in June when i rode it. Glad to see Kistufell still a welcome refuge after it caught fire when I was in it after so much pushing through snow!
All I can say is wow. You are an incredibly strong woman, both mentally and physically, to be able to achieve what you've done. I am blown away by your courage, your fearlessness and your tenacity. Best of luck in all you do.
Well done Becky, great achievement! I love that you always leave your mistakes and failures in and don't gloss over how hard and how dangerous some of these trips can be, along with the high points.
Iceland truly is a beautiful metaphor for life! After lock down I felt an incredible desire to escape and hired a camper to travel around Iceland on my own. I cried with joy as soon as I arrived and cried at having to leave. What I love about your video is how well you reflected how much Iceland takes a grip of your heart. Beautiful place and lovely people. This is by far your best video for me.
What a tough trip, so nice to watch and also: so recognizable! I was also bikepacking in Iceland last summer (for 7 weeks). I know exactly how it feels, all those river crossings, the cold and the rain, the absurdly strong wind. And certainly how happy you can be when you see colors and vegetation again after cycling on the Moon (or Mars) for days. But it's all worth it. Iceland is magical. A primeval landscape that is hard to say goodbye to.
As humans we are so so lucky to be able to see the world no matter where we walk. This was one of the best views of your journey across Iceland 🇮🇸 Becky. Your resilience, your determination and your way of showing us a beautiful adventure. Thank you. And well done. ❤
Battered by the eliments, enduring suffering, wondering if you can make it out in one bit ballenced with the beauty and power of the land, the growing confidence in your ability to adapt and cope, the new experiences and life lessons learnt......bravo......nothing ventured nothing gained. The very esence of life itself x@@GirlOutdoors
Lol. Walter Mitty is the cause of many people going to Iceland. It certainly was mine. My wife and I and our two teenage kids bikepacked The Ring Road and it was an amazing adventure. Scenery was unbelievable. The people were friendly. We had a family invite us to stay un their farm, feed us and did our laundry. I will definitely go back one day.
Spectacular achievement! And I see this video as a beautiful work of art. I see you as gifted at being aware of your experience and perceptions, and their implications to the bigger picture of where we are as humans, and then you have the ability to clearly articulate your thoughts and awareness! No surprise you are having the success you are having on RUclips! Thank you! I appreciate you!
Becky. That was an awesome video, showing true grit resilience and showing when things get hard we don’t give up we push forward. It is great to get away and only have to think about the present not what needs doing, who needs this or that and when where and why.. Well done it was amazing. Looked stunning..
Hey young lady, you have my deepest respect for what you did. I visit Iceland when ever it is possible. Last time this year from September until mid of October. The Land takes sometimes so much from you, but it gives much more back. Every visit to this beautiful country teached me so much about life. Respect, sensibility, being careful with the nature. Have many more beautiful trips in keep Island 🇮🇸 in good memory. 😊Uwe
Absolutely love your content after stumbling upon it...the way you narrate your story/emotions whilst on your journey really does offer a unique perspective as a viewer...thank you!!!
Wow! That was BRUTAL! You are RESILIENT, STOLID, AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL! I cried with you!! I have only pushed myself physically that hard just once, but I felt just like that at the end of the journey. Emotional, grateful, exhausted beyond belief, many lessons learned about the power and beauty of mother nature, surprised by myself and what I had previously thought my limits were up until that point in my life. These journeys change us forever. I am so proud of you!!! 💞
In 2019 I cycled the ring road in Iceland. On day 2 as I headed to Vik the wind came up and like you, I had the hardest day ever on a bike. What you achieved here is inspirational and thank you for recording the highs and the lows. All the best in your future adventures 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. This was one of the things on my bucket list but after seeing this I no longer feel a need to. The wind in the Netherlands drives me nuts often enough. Much respect to your bravery and taking the action to actually do this, I really enjoyed watching it.
When others seek inspiration and motivation to set about a new challenge from others... you are "that" person ! I have no idea what what they teach in General Studies at school these days but your videos should be the subject of watch and discuss sessions . Younger students can relate you you more than the can to say an old fart like Bear Grills...Girls especially need direction and ideas with motivation. Just because there could be danger or something might go wrong is not a good enough excuse to not have a go. Your mature decision making demonstrated how you logically worked around such issues. Can't wait for you next outing. You are amazing.
Congratulations!! I think you had find exactly the right words and expresions to comunicate the feelings involved in that kind of situation/adventure. Im a cyclist from Argentina and send you a very big hug!!!
Huge congratulations on your trip. I done this route in 2019 with two friends. The lava fields, sand storms and blizzards were no joke. Learned so much about myself on the trip.i ve never cycled so few kilometres for so much effort. Incredible achievement, especially as a solo exercise.
You are doing so well in this video and you don't even see it! I can't quite comprehend how this would feel like except that I've been in some bad storms living in Kansas City MO in all kinds of weather. Just enjoy your youth as much as possible and man I wish I could have documented my back in the day travels like you now can with youtube. It's crazy what stays with you later and what becomes a blur later on. To imagin your future ancestors viewing this even after your gone. Life flys by! Beautiful video!!!
Just pure grit (in more than one way). That landscape, your determination & sassy grab life by the neck attitude, a really positive story. I also watched your adventure on the Silk Road. You have earned my total respect - go girl ❤
You’re a totally awesome adventurer. Well done Becky. A huge congratulations to taking this trip on solo. So brave and enjoyable content. You must have a guardian angel looking after you. Love to you and hopefully you’re safe and well. Thanks for sharing this story with us all.😁💐🚴🏿♀️
The Icelandic wind is the ultimate challenge. It blows dust into your face. It slows you down to a crawl. It makes rain and snow much worse. It makes you skip destinations. It houls around your tent/car/cabin and keeps you awake at night. Big respect for cycling in these conditions. Also smart to go from north to south.
I greatly appreciate your determination, toughness and willingness to endure this challenge. Well done and many, many happy trails to you! If you approach life like this as I know you will, what a success you will be.
Iceland is so beautiful and daunting! That'd be a hard ride by motorcycle, on a bicycle-that's insane! My hat's off to you, baby girl. That kind of journey takes stones-BIG stones. Glad you made it back safe. I love your cinematography. I think most people can't appreciate how much work goes into making something like this. 🥰👍❤💯
I applaud you young lady seeing grow to beautiful young talented woman you've come sofar in life the capability you've accomplished in these last few years campingand exploring the world around you with camping Becca you should be very proud of your life and self keep up the great work keep on trekking oh you have such beautiful smile😊
What an incredible film, you are truly inspiring for men and women alike. I have a daughter, the world can seem so scary, and unsafe. Seeing you doing all of this, your videos, your life gives me so much confidence and hope. I want her to live fearlessly. Thank you.
You are awesome! ;) Thank you for showing us your journey and the amazing grit to get it done. But just as important thanks for showing us the inner journey, how to be in the moment and respect the power of nature. Those hard times you must put your head down and push through, but after to make sure you stop to raise it up, take it in and be grateful. As my English friend used to say... " let's get on with it!"
Excellent grit and determination in the face of such challenging conditions and once again a very professional production with genuine raw emotion and wonder in your pieces to camera.
Awesome video, Becky, and congratulations on your achievement! I did the Iceland Divide, also N-S, with two other friends a month after you did it. Seeing some of the locations that you filmed from was like seeing some old friends. We also battled wind and rain almost every day, got caught in a bad storm and took some damage to our tents when we did a safety stop in the middle of the Highlands. We also went to Landmannalaugar and spent at least two hours in there ourselves (but not before dropping some serious kroner on snacks and beer at the Mountain Mall!) We were dealing with bad weather so we ultimately decided to end our trip in Hvollsolur instead of Vik as we would have been dealing with 50+ mph wind gusts on the Ring Road, which would have been extremely sketchy. Again, kudos to you for committing to this extremely difficult adventure and documenting it so wonderfully!
Becky I have said this before, but I will repeat it once again, you have wisdom beyond your years and this is attributed to following your heart, traveling, exploring, and discovering your genuine self. Thank you for the inspiration. I am 67 years young and I travel full time, not as rigorous as yourself, but I understand the joy that that exploration brings. Keep on doing what you do!
You went, you persevered, you conquered. These challenges builds character and deepens your inner strength! Congrats Becky, chalk this one up and move forward to your next adventure! Stay safe and healthy young lady!
Praises are great and encouraging helps, but if people keep doing it over and over many will attempt to get the attention and see that it creates a bigger audience. I don't buy this mentality sorry?
What a fabulous video, it should be shown on mainstream TV! Very profound comments about the importance of colour. Becky, you should be so proud of yourself, you are strong!
Thank you for a great film. I am a native Icelander and loved to experience your adventure. Well done. Love your crafty editing, such a smoth flow and the fact you did not bring out the drone until half way through, brilliant. Best of luck on your future journeys ❤
Great film Completing something like that and capturing it on film too, your a real grafter. I've been watching your stuff for a while now and it's great to see you grow. It's very inspiring
Well, The pessimist sees difficult in every opportunity and the oppomist see opportunity in every difficulty. You are an oppomist!! Thank you for sharing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Great journey, great landscape, great emotions, great camera work, great editing. Congrats for this extraordinary one-woman-(off-)roadmovie! I really enjoyed watching this, thank you so much for sharing this trip with us. Ride on, Becky 🥰
You did it young lady you did it.. You really really rock girl ✊✊✊ This has to be one of if not the best video you have made up to date. And you’ve made some bloody good ones !! Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time to make a video of this incredible adventure ✊✊💪💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍
This is why I solo hike 🥰 the solitude, silence, the sublime closeness to nature, the physical challenge, the mental and emotional challenge, the planning and problem solving, and then…the indescribable feeling of achievement, thrilling intensity and proximity to danger, and the pure ecstasy of adventure 🙏 well done that is an epic trek and you are incredible 😎🙌
Your videos and adventures are simply inspiring Becky! The quality of the filmmaking whilst being on such a tough ride is stunning. I wish I have your courage someday :)
Incredible, amazing, a wonderful video and before all, you discribed the very same feelings I had, during my bicycle ride and after I finished my trip through and around Iceland. Had to give up my south-to-north crossing via Sprengisandur at Landmannalaugar due to snowfall, storm and closed roads. So I cycled around the island, avoiding the main road whereever I could. I remember the headwind, forcing me to push my bike even down the road, I remember the crosswind that pushed me away from the road into a lavafield. Great experiences that I don't want to miss.
Wow! You amazing young lady! Well done Becky in an amazing adventure. This is by far one of your best videos to date. You've not only cometed an amazing journey, your filming & editing is exceptional. You NEED your own series on TV! This is just fantastic!
I sat in that same hot spring after a 6 hour hike around Landmannalaugar and I remember how good that felt. I was so impressed with the landscape surrounding me and intimidated by its raw power. I can only imagine how good that must have felt for you after that courageous trip you did there. Nothing but respect for you!
What a video, such an epic journey. The physical and mental challenge of it is incredible, as well as the isolation in such desolate landscapes. It reminds me of ‘long way round’!
Agree! She is quite an amazing young woman. Determined, ,humble, resourceful, appreciative, organzised, resilient and she also produces these amazing videos!
Throughly enjoyed watching your epic journey, tough, beautiful but you got through it, there has to be a beginning and and an end, it’s the journey that matters, the memories, well done
You are amazing young woman. Brave and very determined. Funny,😊 everything you do and you say a six hour bus ride really takes it out of you! I’m a 73 yo man and I wish I had half of your courage and drive! Keep the videos coming.
Thank-you so much for sharing this journey, your resolve, determination and bravery has inspired me to go back to Iceland in the future and attempt something like this. No camera can fully capture the vistas and colour of this otherworldly place but you did an incredible job. I think you are totally right about stress and our way of life, we all need to get back our connection with the land for the sake of that inner peace, contentment and fire for the soul.
Thank you Becky for sharing that rollercoaster journey of emotions and physical endurance. Once again your courage was amazing this gave you the confidence and strength mentally and physically to achieve such a challenging trip. I’ve said this before to you but You really are an inspiration to me and many others to get outdoors more and appreciate the nature and beauty of this place we call earth. You will always remember challenging times like these where you had to look deep inside yourself to push yourself forward to achieve great success. You will never forget the pride, satisfaction and determination that comes with pushing yourself to explore your dreams, aspirations to overcome any barriers. Well done. 😊👍
Just fabulous what an adventure. Someone quoted to me recently ‘swap anxiety for courage’ you are a superb example of that, congratulations on completing that journey, many more to follow !
Respect! A long time ago i took roughly the same route the from Vik to Akureiri by car. But experienced the same sensation of the absence of color and then after days the reappaerance of the colors, the green, the purple etc, breathtaking.!
Beautiful video. I’ve been to Iceland twice, but we had a car, so nothing like your incredible adventure. And just so you know, all water in Iceland, from rivers, glacier runoffs, … is drinkable. So no need to worry about running out of water. Now you know for your next trip, traveling west to east!
I hitch-hiked to Landmanalaugur and hiked 6 days to the south coast. Thanks so much for creating the video. Well done. I understand how difficult it is. 🤗
Thank you for this vid. It brought me back to the trip i have made in 1985. Even i was not allone, i can imagine how it must have been for you . the wind the silence, the incredable nature and the feeling of lonelyless

Humm, as an old Marine. Your fortitude is admirable. You have the guts of a service woman. God bless the brave.

Absolutely brilliant, or should I say RESILIENT! Take a bow lady. Really well filmed in tough conditions. A real role model for today’s youth! 👏👏
Thank you so so much! I hope you guys are well 😊🙏

@@Luigi13 What a .thoroughly miserable sod you are
Aw thank you :)))
So you met the ICESAR crazies! They have a range of chunky vehicles adapted for that terrain and know what they're doing. Mad as a box of frogs. 😎
Great film
Completing something like that and capturing it on film too, your a real grafter.
I've been watching your stuff for a while now and it's great to see you grow. It's very inspiring
Thank you Joe! All the best :)

Well,
The pessimist sees difficult in every opportunity and the oppomist see opportunity in every difficulty.
You are an oppomist!!
Thank you for sharing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Chapeau, lady. Many thanks for sharing. Watching from the tropical rainforest of Suriname 🇸🇷
Wow. Fantastic. Here I was whining about driving around Iceland…and here you are, a champ.
Haha! Thank you :)
Aw thank you so much! That’s so kind :)
The strength of a determined woman… well done
You are one of the amazing women for the courage and dedication you have shown in your journey to such a beautiful and wonderful place.❤👍
Well done lady, been going to Iceland for 26 years...Still find it utterly breathtaking!
What a video, such an epic journey. The physical and mental challenge of it is incredible, as well as the isolation in such desolate landscapes. It reminds me of ‘long way round’!
Like a long way round but without the film and support crew!
Haha that’s a compliment- love the long way round! 🙌
Congrats on completing the journey 💪 those memories will last a lifetime
This girl is amazing. Give her a TV show already!
Agree! She is quite an amazing young woman. Determined, ,humble, resourceful, appreciative, organzised, resilient and she also produces these
amazing videos!
Thank you for your lovely comment! I hope you get to visit Iceland one day 😊
Thank you Becky for sharing that rollercoaster journey of emotions and physical endurance. Well done. 😊👍
Thanks so much for your lovely message 😊
Inspiration to all! Thanks Becky, you're amazing 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Enjoyed your video immensely. I biked around Iceland 30 years ago and it bought back nice memories 👍
Thank you for this vid. It brought me back to the trip i have made in 1985. Even i was not allone, i can imagine how it must have been for you . the wind the silence, the incredable nature and the feeling of lonelyless
Your best video yet Becky. Well done, looked super tough. But you are one tough cookie. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Kev🙌
