Sephiroth is an AI-controlled temporary party member during the flashback sequence of the Nibelheim Incident. He has Physical, Magical and Status Immunity so cannot take damage in battle, cannot be healed with restorative spells and cannot be inflicted with status effects (unless you change the accessory), and will not lose MP in any scenario due to a special script. He has no Limit Break and his Limit meter will not charge since he cannot take damage.
His Materia are mastered Revive, Restore, Earth paired with All, Fire, Ice paired with All, and Lighting paired with All. His weapon has perfect accuracy (255%) and his weapon attacks are always critical.
If Cloud falls, Sephiroth sometimes revives him with Life2.
Thanks to the Debug Room Warping Glitch you can make Sephiroth join your party, but there is a problem, you cant change his armor and accesory. To fix that problem you need to use the yuffie warp glitch and go to a save where you dont have Vincent in your team yet. In the Debug Room we gotta recruit Sephiroth and Vincent. With Vincent you can change the armor and accesory to Sephiroth and also increase his stats with sources (you cant do it directly with Sephiroth).
Vincent occupies the same party slot as Sephiroth does for the flashback (the same happens with Cait Sith and Young Cloud). The game only properly updates the slot during the character naming screen, so he will nor function correctly if this is bypassed when adding him to the party by non-standard means.

• Independent materia: MP Plus, HP Plus, Speed Plus, Magic Plus, Luck Plus, EXP Plus, Gil Plus, Enemy Away, Enemy Lure, Chocobo Lure, Pre-Emptive, Cover, Underwater, HP-MP.
• Support Materia: All, MP Turbo, Elemental, Added Effect, Quadra Magic.
Note: All, MP Turbo and Quadra Magic only work if linked with Fire, Ice, Lighting or Earth materia. Elemental and Added Effect can be linked with any compatible materia.
