From that day on, Chaos, Emperor Mateus, The Cloud of Darkness, Zeromus, Omega, Shinryu, Exdeath and Kefka started doing monthly meetings to cope with the trauma Phantasm inflicted on them. Chaos: Face disfigured and every bone shattered from how hard he got punched; Emperor: Not even a drop of demon blood in his body after what the blood sword did to him; Cloud of Darkness: Still with PTSD from desperately (And uselessly) using Particle Beam while three ninjas play hit the target with her and a ridiculously buffed onion knight uses her as a piñata; Zeromus: His condition is a mixture of Chaos' concussive trauma and CoD's injuries with extra burns from Rydia's flare spell. Omega: Internal systems never recovered from the corruption glitches caused by Romeo's Ballad and the short circuits of the Thundaga blade slashes; Shinryu: Left tetraplegic from the severe brain damage those jumps caused; Exdeath: Drained of all lifeforce (and the will to live) + covered in coin wounds that look more like bullet holes; Kefka: Diced into countless cauterized pieces after an berserk Locke went to town on him with the Ultima Weapon;
Everything into Blackbelt! Tsunami only makes him stronger! Good old ff2 blood sword. Onion Kid, so hilarious. And the rest wear pajamas. WOAH, FIFTEEN... FIF-TEEEEEEN wyvern lances... FF5, I don't know why I never thought to just have the whole rest of the party do Romeo's ballad for Omega. Wow. lol. (well, I guess I tried to limit myself as much as possible to my job classes for my 5-job fiesta playthroughs; yeah I do a 5-job fiesta instead a 4-job fiesta, because I like to combine Galuf's job with whatever Krile gets, and I select the jobs not by Crystal and each character's element, but with a D20 (Bare, Mime, GBA classes, excluded). My first playthrough of it got me a Geomancer Krile with Galuf's Berserker, which worked out great, because Geomancer equips axes, and there's the Rune Axe, and with the geomancer's magic stat, gave incredible damage). Shinryu, nice double spear jumps. Is he immune to the Chemist's Eye Drop+DragonFang=Dark Sigh blind, and Turtle Shell+HolyWater=Bacchus Cider Berserk, in Pixel Remaster?
Gotta love the ultima weapon + valiant knife + genji glove + master's scroll combo. In ff5, you had to at least try to get a similar combo by combining skills from several classes and is only relevant in the endgame. In ff6, let's give you two weapons and two accessories that every single player would come across and put them on a popular character that almost every single player would invest into.
they had the opportunity to make the final bosses much harder. i would go crazy. make them have way more HP and make them counter every attack even ones that hit multiple times in one attack
Reminds me of Ozma in ff9, counters everything, or his ATB fills if you target him, something like that, it's insane. Then ff7, I think Emerald Weapon interrupted W-Summon Knights of the Round, and maybe interrupted Counter Attacks procs.
That will make it much harder towards newcomers. People complain about the current difficulty of the pixel remasters all the time, especially Chaos and Zeromus, the former of which is significantly buffed from his Famicom counterpart. That said, I played the FF2 PR blind and accidentally killed the emperor way too quickly, before I could use my Ultima tome that I had saved for that encounter. I guess Minwu’s sacrifice was in vain...
well yeah, if you go out of your way to humiliate the bosses like that, they would be too low, but for the average player, its often higher than they should be.
No, they just literally translated from Japanese, where they all were indeed called Statues of the Gods and not the names the og translators pulled out of a hat.

I not humiliating the final bosses, because i like to hear the music
Okay, Emperor Mateus _desperately_ needed to 5x or 10x his HP XD

I think he did 89,991 Damage to Kefka in one move.
Emperor got stomped on, and Zeromus is so weak compared to his 3D counterpart
and they died....
You could have just thrown an X-Potion
Final fantasy bosses have way too low hp in the endgame
well yeah, if you go out of your way to humiliate the bosses like that, they would be too low, but for the average player, its often higher than they should be.
And now we have FF bosses with millions, or even tens of millions of hp. Be careful what you wish for.
did they forget what the names of the Gods were in FF6? wow. such a garbage remaster...
