@@senko0802 and it such a good flavor in a voiceover which was lost in the remaster. And the remaster didn't even fix reapers bug! Is this a some kind of meta-irony by GGG?
14:40 Aye! That one's going in The Book! 21:25 We all know they were boat inspectors and they got a generous retirement package after scuttling those unseaworthy ships.
I don't know if you have already done the Undead, but quite a few of their units are not yet dead. Acolites, Necromancers and Gargoyles are all living beings. Also Arthas! He ain't dead yet! He is just corrupted.
I'm guessing he'll probably be using the "undead" tag that units have. In which case it'd just leave him with meat wagons for the RoC campaign, and I thiiiiiink Obsideon Statues for the Frozen Throne campaign.
Arthas is dead in the Undead campaign. He died either when Frostmourne took his soul or after he wandered Northrend alone for "some time". That's why he looks completely different from Human campaign to Undead campaign.
So next is undead without... undead? Uh, so just meat wagons? Oh, and experimental creatures for that mission against Antonidis, and... maybe Fel Hounds and Infernals for the last mission. And items like goblin landmines and summonable units (if any). And towers. LOTS and LOTS of towers. Outside of mission 1, you technically have access to non-undeads, so good luck! Orc is easy: wolves, trolls, and taurens. Night Elf: What counts as a Night Elf? Well, liquidipedia says "Night Elf females possess the Shadowmeld ability", meaning females without Shadowmeld aren't Nelves, like dryads! Also treants, wisps, chimeras, and glaives aren't elves, so they don't count as Nelves. Sentinels: According to wowpedia, the Sentinels include Tyrande, Shandris, archers, druids (possibly including Furion), hippogryph riders, and huntresses. Maiev isn't a Sentinal, she's a Watcher... I think. Eh, you'll figure it out. You still have wisps and treants after all! Alliance: Too easy! The alliance refers to Garithos' force, so just humans... again. If that's too easy, the campaign is titled "Curse of the Blood Elves", so maybe no Blood Elves for a challenge? Aside from mission 1 (many humans available), it'll basically be the Naga + phoenix. Scourge: One of three undead factions, but the units associated with them are basically typical undead. You could say the Forsaken are an exception, so Sylvanis, Varimathras, and maybe banshees. Aside from that, I think meat wagons (cuz they're just contraptions), towers, and maybe statues. I'm not sure that's possible. Edit: Summons are available for purchase in mission 1, so maybe if you stack them? Lastly is the Bonus Campaign: So the bonus campaign without any bonuses! Lol.
What the author could also add: Undead: lore-wise acolytes&necros (without skeletons) can be live humans. Even Arthas can be live human with undead magic (iirc, he died when he as Lich King cut out his heart). Fiends/gargs/wirms are "creatures" if we consider attack and armor upgrades. And meat wagons, yeah. Night elves: trees and ancients! First mission is definitely doable without making archers, although it will be harder without a hero with the initial archers. And furbolgs. Second mission - well, ballistas and hydralisk could do something, but they are in the end of mission. Sentinels: second mission - boats and mercs. Druids are probably not Sentinels, but Druids/Cenarion Circle. In some patch you also can make unique watcher units. And technically before Tyrande help Maiev, Maiev have only her troops (only watchers). Bonus campaign - it could be named as Horde campaign (along the lines of other TFT campaigns), so without Horde. And... Pandaren Brewmaster isn't Horde! But how you get the Pandaren without other heroes... well, Rexxar in the start is just traveler, and mb before he helps Orgrimmar (three initial quests after the first one) he isn't in Horde, so he can take Panda, and then Panda do all quests...
If I had to guess, of the RoC campaigns, the Night Elf one will be the most challenging. For the undead, starting at mission 2, you get access to meat wagons, which, with some good micro, can murderise just about anything. The big difficulty spike there will probably be the Blackrock and Roll, too mission because of the red dragons. For the Orcs, you have headhunters right out the gate, although mission two is always a slog. The reason I think the Night Elf campaign will be the most difficult is because you're going to have to rely on units like the dryad, and while you do have access to glaive throwers, for some reason I've always found them more cumbersome to move than the other siege options. This was a blast to watch! I can't wait to see your other videos! I was also working on a challenge run series inspired by GGG, asjlhdggb. I was completing each of the campaigns with their base unit (so footman, ghoul, grunt, archer). I got through the Undead campaign before I had to stop for school, but I plan on continuing it soon!
Very nicely made video, love to see another RTS challenge runner :D I did see that at around the 18:40 mark the audio seems duplicated (or at least the script), you talk about the dwarven base allowing you to tech into mortar teams faster and then the first and second attacks on the undead base.
Well, that was pretty interesting to watch! Well done with that challenge! :D I personally thought that the ship mission would be somewhat impossible. Seems like not! :D
Cool challenge! It's Garithos' worst nightmare. Playing the Undead campaign without the undead would be impossible, only Necromancers (without skeletons!) and Acolytes aren't actually undead.
Very nice challenge! I think you should allow yourself to perform non-combat actions (like letting Heroes aura buff your units and casting non-damage abilities like Orc Rider net), it would be extra challenge for your heroes to be "helicopter parent" that try not to be involved... but IS involved.
Probably the optimal strategy in Reforged anyway, the rifleman's arguably the least scuffed model. The beefy arms, bayonets, recoil and gradient cloaks actually look pretty good!
Hehe, very nice. I was expecting this campaign to be pretty easy since riflemen exist, but since I've never played reforged, I wasn't expecting The Culling to be such a challenge! The non-base levels were pretty fun too. Now for the undead campaign... Acolytes are living, so you don't need an excuse to use workers. Other than that, you have... meat wagons and necromancers that can't summon skeletons? If it weren't for the way you scripted this video, you could also claim that Arthas isn't undead because he actually never dies, but you've made it very clear in this script he's an undead, so I think that's cheating now. You also have towers, so I'm guessing a lot of tower rushes combined with long range meat wagon support in the next campaign. I think it's doable, though it's certainly going to be a challenge. Good luck!
Subbed. I like myself a good challange with a simple premise. Deathless? Simple. No-Build? Simple. Only Unit X? Simple. Structures only? Simple. No units of the choosen faction? Simple. But all bring a ton of fun.
In culling you can use Priest's dispell to deal with the infernals, but ideally you don't even wanna fight Mal'ganis! You can outpace him by making mutliple control groups and just going around the map killing houses and villagers. also his AI is incredibly silly, you can just use some units to infinitely kite him around the city meaning he doesn't get any progress on objective :D
Hey very nice video! I love these type of challenge runs so you got yourself a new subscriber mate. One small thing I noticed, at 18:16 you repeat the same line twice. Don't know if it's a script error or editing mistake but wanted you to know just in case. Cheers!
Well nerubians are spiders and meatwagons are machines. I guess gargoyles can be interpreted as statues come to life? Arthas is a soulless human so not technically undead... other than that I'm not sure
It was a nice watch :) Good luck on the Undead campaign. Do you have an idea which units count as undead? Lorewise the only living units would be the necromancers, gargoyles and demons you get in the final mission.
Undead without undead units.... that would leave.... Fiends only? MAYBE gargoyles and Meat Wagons too? Orc without orcs will be better, actually, as you will have headhunters and tauren, as well as witch doctors. But NElf will also be challenging... Dryads aren't exactly elves. Chimeras and Hippos too... And MAYBE Glavie throwers.
Excited to see Undead Campaign without Undead. By my calculations, would that literally just be a Meat Wagons and mercenaries only run? Maybe Abominations if you're fudging the math? That would be brutal.
Lore wise I don't think Arthas actually died in Northrend, he just lost his soul. Other than that you got acolytes, necromancer, gargoyles and maybe demons like felhounds and infernals
Humans only have footmen and knights as human units so that's not the worst. Undead without undead? So... Nerubians? Are necromancers still alive? Do we count possessed? Orcs without orcs will be a cool Troll n Tauren time. Elves without Elves... Dryads and Furbolgs? (And a Hydralisk)
Now the question is if Undead can win with only acolytes, necromancers, and meat wagons? If so, then can the Night Elves do the same with wisps, dryads, balistae, and the hydralisk in mission 2?
@@warrioroflight6872 The colours are way too saturated, for one, so they look even more cartoonish than the intentionally cartoonish graphics from 2002. The animation is also of lower quality: movement is stiff, attack and death animations lack their personal flares that gave the different units some character, and thus combat looks more boring than in the original.
