Recording a person minding their own business for an extended amount of time could i think potentially draw a harrassment or stalking charge. recording yourself on a jog or walking or just the area rather than a random person is fine and reasonable, but recording a random person for an extended time just to illicit a response is weord and creepy

Recording a person for an extended period of time? All they had to do was walk away, nobody would have even noticed them. They are free to walk away, and there is no expectation of privacy while out in public, so it can't be harassment.

He doesn't go around filming specific people. The only people he winds of specifically filming are the ones who confront him. He wasn't following anyone.

When this crap first came out, people seemed to easily side with the cameraman and write the woman and her husband off as “entirely in the wrong.” When in reality the cameraman is a loitering FAA piece of shit who deliberately seeks to make people feel uncomfortable for profit. This movement doesn’t advocate for or achieve anything. They’re a bunch of dumbasses who thrive off menacing others and harassing police with frivolous lawsuits.

Frauditors definitely aren't fighting for anyone's rights like they claim. They tend to get themselves into trouble because they don't know the laws as well as they think they do.
For example, Depending on the state if you are filming for commercial purposes, ie monetizing it on YT, you may have to get consent from everyone you filmed. Frauditors have gotten their videos taken down for privacy/copyright strikes because they didn't inform the people they were using their likeness to make money. Second, wiretap laws. Again depending on the state you may have to get consent on anyone your are audio recording. Several frauditors have gotten in trouble for that as well. Lastly, these guys just want to antagonize but they are going to get severely hurt. One recently got shot five times and is in the hospital fighting for his life. I don't know the reason why he was shot but based on his videos and how he like to antagonize people he may got the wrong one on the wrong day.

This is absolutely correct. There is a RUclipsr in Canada that eats food for a living (doesn't exactly review it anymore) and he is constantly filming inside establishments secretly and he refuses to seek permission to film like many other creators in that niche do. A few channels have sprung up that focus solely on reacting to him and he has hit them with multiple fraudulent copyright strikes (which is a no no on RUclips as creators striking each other simply because you can't take criticism is not seen kindly by the creator community).
I would argue that 1st amendment auditing is important but should be done by people who are able to keep their calm and dont act like this person.

There's this one youtuber who films government buildings and harass workers (examples police offices or case managers). This video reminded me of that RUclips who has come to my mother's workplace just to harass her and her coworkers, having the audacity to call her a Karen. In my opinion, these are some weird ppl just trying to get a rise.

What I would respect is if the Auditors wore some kind of button saying they are a First Amendment Auditor and also have little pamphlets stating the laws so they can educate people. So if someone comes up to them they can just hand them out. That would actually be informing people instead of bantering back and forth with whose insults are better. Usually 1A auditors are typically at a location for no reason, recording whatever excuse they can find to defend their reason to record.
I do feel that they're bending the laws and are causing more harm than good. They consider themselves like a tourist documenting their visit at X location. As if the area they are recording is a historical location. Or that they're documenting it via recording to then upload on youtube or whatever.
HOWEVER! It's not the case. It creates a setting where people will show concern. Which they're allowed to. If you saw someone recording for 20+ minutes and not saying a single word. I think it does raise some kind of concern. I mean in general if they're interacting with people or not. While recording it's still strange to begin with.
If a 1A auditor were to record a statue I'd say people would be fine with it. BUT these people are intentionally going to a location where people shop or where people eat, or even inside buildings and start recording, for the sake of Drama. They do it for the drama and nothing else.
I never seen a 1A auditor record an actual historical building where there isn't any negative attraction between them and a pedestrian. It's always a video of them recording a "Building" in hopes to get someone to speak out about their creepy behavior.
I know for a fact 1A auditors wouldn't upload a video if it didn't have someone within the video expressing how creepy it is to just randomly record around an establishment in which they have zero reason to be there to begin with.

What's going on is that there are annoying people. There always have been there just wasn't ubiquitous cameras everywhere. But I can assure you, there have always been douchebags, they're not a recent invention.
I think AP is different than other 1st amendment frauditors. AP retired from a career in photography. It was his job to do things like go out and get cover photos for things like news articles and magazines. Justifiable reasons to record in public. And his rights used to get infringed upon all the time. So naturally when he retired he chose this lane. But he doesn’t go out recording the police and government officials anymore. He’s got a travel channel now where he’s touring the country with his son and they document cities in every state and he gives a lot of promo to businesses in small towns. But of course if someone tries to stop him he’s gonna turn it into content. Which happens here. But most of his followers, including myself, would much rather have good interactions with citizens than bad. And he does. If you watch the majority of his videos since he started doing documentaries on towns, most of the interactions with people are positive. But there’s always one person in each documentary that acts like these people here. With all this said, I can’t stand the first amendment frauditors. They intentionally try to stir the pot to get bad interactions. But AP pushes for good interactions and promo’ing small businesses

There is a reason he is being unapproachable towards certain people and he explained it in many videos. Think of it as a unannounced inspection. If you tell everybody what you're doing, nobody is going to act natural and you will get fake reactions. Some people will even try and sabotage it, by giving other people a heads-up. He doesn't have to answer them if he doesn't want to, and any person with common sense would just stop interacting, if it was so "brutally obvious". If people choose to escalate the situation and give him content to monetize, more power to him.

You don’t have to do anything wrong for being recorded to feel uncomfortable, creepy and even stalkerish. It’s just weird and there’s no reason to film random people going about their lives. Social media is one of the worst things to happen
Sure there is a reason. Ever seen those videos of people going about their lives from 100 years ago? They are extremely interesting. Imagine if someone told them to stop filming. Honestly, in our age of camera surveillance and smartphones, you should be used to it. If it makes you uncomfortable, I suggest you stay at home or seek therapy and try to overcome it. Don't construe what he is doing with a crime. Recording people going in and out a store, is not following them around and stalking them.

I always thought that the 1st Amendment "Freedom of Speech" meant that you could criticize the government orally or in writing without the government being able to silence you by imprisonment or other means.
