How is her father not being charged, he KNOWS he picked up his drunk daughter from the scene of an accident where she drove her car into someone's HOUSE, surely that has to be SOME sort of crime...
If I remember correctly watching the full video they explain that she walked away from the scene, then called her dad to pick her up. So from his (very rose tinted) perspective, she was drunk and walking down the street, and didn't ask any follow up questions.

Germany : 1st DUI, the license is gone for up to 1 year. 2nd DUI, your license is gone for ever. If you hurt anybody while driving intoxicated, you'll have a free trip to a prison for some years + paying compensation to the victims. Never drink and drive. I'm German, and we love beer and wine. But when I'm drinking, I call a taxi or let me pick up. Best wishes to the US.
That's not true. If you are below 0.11 bac and not involved in an accident you lose your licence for 1 month for the 1st DUI, 2 months for the 2nd and 3 months for the 3rd. But everyone above 0.16 or with a 2nd DUI above 0.05 has to pass the so called "Idiotentest" (MPU), which is expensive and has a high failure rate. If you cause an accident with 0.03 or higher it can turn into a felony, basically you lose your licence for at least 6 months and can get a prison sentence of up to 5 years. Europe is generally stricter and lot of slavic countries have a zero tolerance policy. For hardest punishments look up Slovakai or Poland, they are cracking down on drunk drivers.
@@ProdigyFaith Yes, you're right 👍 I was more on the "felony rules" and mixed something up. My husband got a DUI twenty years ago and never drank and drove again. He rarely ever even has a drink since then. He said it cost him ten thousand dollars and his license for 90 days. He almost lost his job because it requires a valid driver's license. It was stupid to drive home. He was more scared of his father picking him up than the cops arresting him. He actually begged the cops not to call his Dad. He told our older children not to be stupid and call us anytime if you cant drive and we will get them no questions or judgements.
No. You can't always blame the parents for every shitty adult. They have their part in it, sure, but there's plenty of people out there that have enabling parents and don't turn out 4 times a felony charge.

Maybe it's in their brain. They've been told so many times they've done wrong, maybe even got yelled at many times. So the fact that they deny they are in the wrong is clearly a cause for that.
the dad is also to blame for her behavior it's clear that she's daddy's little girl and probably spoiled her to the point where she doesn't get much of punishment just probably a scolding but daddy keeps bailing her out if I were that father I'd be like "well you're an adult, you did this to herself, you have to face the consequences" don't give a child your child freeway just becuase "my child" she could've killed someone if the 2nd time it wasn't getting through her head not to do this nor the 3rd of even the 4th then she doesn't need a liscense she needs a full time baby sitter because she's not mentally sane to take care of herself.
You don't know the full story. Sure, she could be spoiled and sheltered from consequences. But her dad could also be covering for her because he feels guilty or responsible in some way. Pretty sure the reason she fled is due to mandatory jail time for the fourth offense which still seems incredibly generous. I had an employee* once who had two & crashed into like 9 cars & still to this day serves liquor as a bartender. NO JOKE!! Stay safe
Had a guy who t-boned my car and caused us to roll over pull the ol' "I don't remember the accident" card. Although in our case he conveniently remembered everything else except hitting our car. He remembers he was going 80 getting off at an exit. He remembers swerving to avoid a car slowing down to take the exit, too. He remembers hitting the concrete sound wall and how it sent him flying across two lanes of highway. And somehow he forgot that he hit an SUV and made it flip over twice before it came to rest on its roof. Which is crazy because I remember watching the road and sky spin quite vividly. And we sure as hell didn't flip ourselves.
@@moist1700 surprisingly yes. We both got cuts and bruises. My friend broke his non driving ankle and my worst injury was a bruise wrapping around my bicep. Also a lightning bolt shaped gash. I quite literally got up and walked away from all that

Though he probably did it to avoid accountability, I also don't really remember T-ing a car in my accident. I remember driving, seeing him, hitting the breaks, and thinking "I'm not gonna make it." Then there's just a blank spot, maybe a crashing sound if I really try to remember, and when my memory comes back I'm in my destroyed car on the side of the road. It's really quite unnerving.

Seems those attorneys were well versed in getting that whole family out of questionable situations. Unfortunately, affluenza kid eventually went on to killed four people that were just helping each other on the side of the road. Drunk again at the wheel, nearly killing all his friends in the truck. He was also underage and without a only a learners permit, I believe. Anyway. Hopefully that elderly couple can repair the house. Thankfully she didn't kill anyone in the home. Why are they waiting for her to do exactly that? It's infuriating.
Yeahhhh...so i live in New Mexico and it is a common occurrence to be watching local news and hear reported that an accident happened somewhere in the state with injuries or fatalities caused by a DUI drive who is subsequently found to have three four or five incidents of the same thing in their past. None of us understand the legality or logic of allowing these people to contunue holding valud licenses and being allowed to operate an auto. Its mind boggling.
the hearsay that she was referring to that the cop rightfully recognized in her language and steered her away from was the testimony from the neighbor specifically linking her as the driver of the vehicle. This would be important for any case they might want to bring as she could have argued that the vehicle was stolen by a stranger that they could even argue that she asked to drive her home, she would have to be say 4 times felony dumb for such a defense to work but I think she has it locked in.

I got one dui five years ago First ever offense Couldnt join the army because of the 3 year probation period that didnt begin till i completed all these hoops, And this girl has 4 felonies and shes calling her dad from the cop car, we are not equal
I have an ex aunt who has had 3 DUI's and is an RN. Because she has connections and money, they continue to let her keep her license, and she still drives drunk regularly. They keep trying to make stricter drinking laws, but they dont even punish people with our current laws properly. It's caos.
3 prior DUIs and then smashes her car into a house... she has clearly never been held accountable for her bullshit. she should not have had a license at all after 3 prior DUIs. The legal system is is failing everyone in that town by giving her too many second chances.
I agree with you 100%, even as quite the boozer myself. Don't mix alcohol and driving. It's not some kind of 4D chess. It really is that simple. This gal was shielded from serious consequences SO MANY TIMES already, but apparently she never appreciated or learned anything positive from any of that.
I've seen this entire bodycam footage and it's absolutely infuriating. The conversation with her father explains exactly why Stacy doesn't think driving her car, while completely wasted, into someone's house is something she should be held accountable for. She was clearly never told no as a child or been held accountable for her choices by her father. She's extremely lucky she hasn't killed anyone and hopefully they'll keep her locked up this time so she won't be able to in the future. It's insane how lax DUI laws are in some states. The fact that she was allowed to call her father to pick her up while being transported to the jail for processing is insane to me.
God this woman reminds me of my mother. In my mom’s case, it’s that she was attempting to manipulate whoever she was talking to but was too drunk to keep her story straight. Her favorite lie was that someone stole her identity and that’s who smashed into someone in the McDonald’s parking lot. They got a car just like hers and made themselves look like her, too. I’m getting that same vibe with Stacy here. She fully knows it’s all absurd but she’s hoping they’ll just buy it anyway.
Alcoholism is no joke. I am glad no one got killed or injured, and I seriously hope she gets some help for her drinking problem. It’s a real struggle if you’ve dealt with addiction, but if she runs someone over by accident because of her recklessness, she will be dealing with more issues than whatever she has going on that’s making her drink...
Three DUIs. She should be in jail, not behind the wheel getting a fourth. Lying to police should a crime, and by that, I mean each lie adds to severity of the penalty individually. Dad should go to jail too as an accomplice. I've only drunk to excess about six times in my life (55yo) and never have I been tempted to drive. Twice, I spent the night and most of the next day curled up in my back seat waiting to be recovered enough to get home safely.
I use to have friend with 7 dui's on his record. I learned my damn lesson after my first one. How people can afford to make that mistake that many times is beyond me.
To me, as someone who has a medical condition that prevents me from driving, the worst part of this is that people like this take complete advantage of the privilege to drive. When they get in trouble or something, all they do is whine and try to divert blame so they can get back out and do it all over again. These kinds of things infuriate me, because most people (good and bad) really dont appreciate how important of a resource it is and just abuse it
this is super bizarre cuz me and my fiancé watch your videos all the time and this is in our town literally a mile from my house . what are the chances . love your videos !
I've dealt with someone like this before (my mother's friend) she was a severe alcoholic and had multiple duis and she has acted almost exactly like this just with more crying and slurring when she crashed the car
This happens in Portland (Oregon, the scary one in the NW) often, usually after being stolen from a few blocks away. My family friend was the victim, except it wasn't crashed into a house, but her car. Had to learn how to walk, talk, spell, and do math again after that. The guy then stole another car to flee the scene, wasn't even drunk, just stupid.
A friend of mine just went through this. Drunk hit her house so hard that he moved it on its foundation then tried to run off on foot. Neighbors got him and held him until the police got there. That was last year. The guy acted A lot like this.
I don’t watch a ton of commentary but your work truly reflects in your videos, you’re honest, analytical and these productions are absolutely amazing, idk where you came from but I am so proud of you, I bet it’s taken so much work and effort.
When a cop says oh this is your time to give your side of the story...SHUT UP!!! Never answer questions without counsel present, even if it means a trip to jail. Also never do field sobriety tests, they are flawed.
@@mikel6989the field sobriety test depends on what state you’re in and if you’ve been near anything that could trigger the breathalyzer or have any conditions that cause you to be uncoordinated or imbalanced . They can give back false results but it’s usually accurate and they’ll usually do other tests if you request them at a station or holding cell
As somebody who has had a large share of alcohol, I have never reached a state where I was this ridiculous let alone thinking it was okay to get behind the wheel. Some people can handle alcohol just fine, others turn angry or stupid.
That dad's voice is not the voice of a father whose daughter just committed her 4th felony offense... Parents need to be parents, or else we're going to see more Staceys out there.
Here, on your first conviction/plead you are required to have an interlock on the car as well as constant monitoring at your expense. Yet 3 times and still driving? 3rd time is a mandatory 10 years as a felony. Heck, refusing to even take the test on the first ask is enough for 6 months revoke.
@@ayemane2828 True, but most of us can't lose it for 6+ months, not to mention the fines. As I said, even refusing is automatically revoked, at least here. And yes, they do enforce that.
I can’t imagine the thinking that went into fleeing the scene yet leaving the car. It’s got a license plate on it. A friend of mine once dui crashed his car and I picked him up, unknowingly. He had a number of dui’s already so was trying not to get another one. He told the cops his son was driving the car. I believe he actually got away with it, but he got caught on another dui and had a breathalyzer installed onto his vehicle, as well as being on sobriety court.
I don't believe you've never had drinks, but it is possible to believe you've never gotten drunk. This is the behavior of something used to getting their way and think they can talk their way out.
I dunno what it is, but there is something kind of soothing about the way cops do that thing where they ask questions as if they don't know the answer. When Stacey says "No, we live around here but no." and the cop is just like "Yep."
To answer August's question about being drunk; no. This isn't normal, but it's also not terribly uncommon. For me, the fun part of drinking is getting together with humans that I love, drinking just enough to let your guard down and get a little goofy, and then UBERING HOME. Some people can't stop at 3/4 drinks, they have to keep going the second the have a sip. This woman is one of those people. When people black out, they roll the dice of doing something terrible and stupid. Drinking responsibly is so important
I also can laugh at this. Because when I was a small child (maybe 12 years old?) I was at home on a Saturday watching TV while my folks/family members were at work or out running errands and an SUV crashed into the back of the house we lived in. Wrecked the hell of our back porch but I peeked out the back door to see said SUV and about 5 cops surrounding the vehicle pointing guns at it. Scared me so bad.

@@ProdigyFaith Yes, you're right 👍
I was more on the "felony rules" and mixed something up.
Crashing into a house, leaving the scene, claiming it's her fathers fault, is not a misdemeanor, it's a felony.
And felony means in this case the license will be revoked for at least 6 months up to 5 years,
perhaps for livetime.
And in the case, you'll do it again, then is the license guaranteed revoked for livetime.

That phone call with her dad fully explains why she is the way she is.
