    Really good ideas and execution. I especially like that T-track clamping system on the end of your bench. And your refurbished vacuum pod trash find just saved you maybe $1000(?) for a similar system just released by Festool.

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  8 лет назад

      +Michael Anderson Thanks for the kind feedback Michael. It works great for long pieces and also small pieces, too small for the pod. I was not aware of Festool launching this kind of thing. I have had this sitting around my shop collecting dust for at least 10 years i think. I am in the progress trying to make a DIY version with plans if everything works out. Thanks for watching

    • @petermenningen338
      @petermenningen338 8 лет назад

      +Bellevue Woodshop I agree spirals work best on assembly stations where the air feed is from the top or for blow guns from the top. Your design takes the place of a hose reel at a way better price. and with less bulk..

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  7 лет назад

      Thank you very much for the generous feedback. The crimped pipe and the soldered one was like this. all the compressors I have has these, might be where they are filling the refrigerant when produced. I just cut the 2 pipes going to the fridge/freezer condenser plate. One side has pressure, the other one vacuum

    I have never seen that vacuum table, that is very cool. I also like the build in compressor for easy access for air guns, very nice. Was the vacuum table made for that kind of work? Great ideas.

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  8 лет назад

      +Allen Holdway Thank you for the kind feedback Allen. The pod was used in of custom kitchen countertop production for treating the edges, and efgebanding. But that has to be 25-30 yrs ago. I actually did not plan to use this compressor, but needed a place to store it, and since my compressed air setup around the shop has some leaks, I have to wait for the whole system to pressurize. so this is compact and readily available.and always pressurized.

    Oh cool, I wonder where I can find aluminum t track heavy enough to do the same thing. I was planning on a really long pipe clamp vise on my assembly table for short-end work on panels, but this is way more elegant.

    I've really enjoyed watching your innovative workbench development. The video quality and lengths are perfect too. Thanks for sharing!
    One question. .. doesn't the AC compressor require oil in the inlet air for lubrication? Do you think putting a couple drops of oil in the inlet before each use will make it last? I wonder if an inlet air filter might make it last longer also?

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  8 лет назад

      +Tony Shulthise Thanks Tony. glad you like both the content and the videos. Its sometimes hard to cram everything interesting into a video, and not make it to long. but one does not want to make it to much fast paced either. Thanks for watching an commenting
      I have read online about othesr using this kind of compressor,and many recomend that you puta drop of oil or 2 into the inlet for lube, I have never done it, and have yet to have one fail on me. And getting a new one from an old fridge or similar is just around the corner.

    • @bellevuesnekkeri

    A small reciprocating compressor produces enough vacuum? I was thinking I need to install a 3 phase scroll compressor on a VDF to control the compressor, but then I realized by the time I did that, I could by the Festool version.... probably just get a old fridge compressor, did you have to add a start capacitor or anything?

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  7 лет назад

      Oh yeah. if properly sealed, it can easily pull -0,8bar. Just yanked the compressor out of the fridge and cut the coolant tubes

  • @Handlesplus

    Amazing. So it's a "compressor" from a fridge? But don't you need a vacuum pump, or did I miss something?

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  8 лет назад

      +David Handley Thanks David The inlet tube thats normally for the refrigant, has suction. Its actually possible to create a fair amount of vacuum. I does not move huhe amounts of air, but if my vacuum meter is correct, it has no problem pulling -0,80bar

    The swiss army knife of work benches. Festool has nothing on you. I did not know you could use a refrigerator motor to pull a vacuum. I will need to research that further. What was the source for the valve you used. Thanks for sharing.

    • @bellevuesnekkeri
      @bellevuesnekkeri  8 лет назад +2

      +WoodRodent Thanks for the kind comment, and for watching. It works great for vacuum hold downs, and even vacuum bagging.
      Its completely quiet, and I manage to get -0,80 bar, if my meter is correct. the valve was salvaged from work, but I guess any 3 port valve should work (or 5/2 might be the correct terminologi)

    • @hesperhurt

      No joke... this might get rid of three seperate workbenches in my shop with the ideas it's given me! 👍
      As for refrigerator compressors... they're bomb proof. Used them for all sorts including an emergency water pump (don't ask!!), pneumatic rockets with my students when I was a teacher and to power micro air tools. Great pieces of scrap 😉

      +Cameron Lienhart Its by far the best countersink I have had. I bought a set of 4 off ebay. they are similar to these: www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-Chamfer-Countersink-Deburring-Drill-Bit-Set-Crosshole-Cutting-Metal-Tool-LO/161906451720?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33877%26meid%3Dc2bd5a31967346d4aefe206d1f6c3213%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252215143067

      +Glen Turner Thank you Glen. The numbers on the sheets are because they are some test sheets that we use in the production at my dayjob. The operators mesure the panel before it is run through the aplication machine for the hardener. They just write it on to remember. There are also 2 lettesr on, to tell the operator if the test panel was run on top or bottom, left or right of machine. Thanks for watching and commenting

    I'm sorry but I don't understand the need for the vacuum component. Would you please enlighten me.
    Otherwise, it's a great looking assembly bench.

      +Peter Marsh Thank you Peter. Its a refridgerator compressor, and the inlet tube thats normally for the refrigant, has suction. Its actually possible to create a fair amount of vacuum. I does not move huhe amounts of air, but if my vacuum meter is correct, it has no problem pulling -0,80bar
