    Hey everyone! Thank you very much for all of the feedback and comments on this build! Since building it, I have put it through the paces in the shop and it is doing amazingly well! A lot of you have asked about my dust port on my cordless circular saw. It is a customized Ridgid Brushless circular saw that I cut the guard on and used epoxy to mount an old Shop Vac nozzle into. I am putting together content for a RUclips video explaining why and how I did it as well as how it is holding up. Thanks again and stay tuned for more!
    Casey

    What I like about this video is you don’t waste time telling us what you’re about to do. Seeing it happen and explaining it as it goes along is a better use of my time than getting ticked off with endless explanation of what you’re about to see.

    I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

I'm aware already Kregg is the truth but thank you for making this video. This is my permanent work bench I'm going to replicate your work man. Than you. I will comment again once I finish. Thanks again to you for your time and Kregg for the greatest jigs ever made to the DIY. Happy holidays.

    Skip the music the talking is way more exciting. Nice project. I made the drawer bottoms from a fine mash material and put a slide out piece of thin plywood on the bottom of the cabinet collecting all the dust what would be accumulate otherwise in the drawers. Thanks for sharing.

      Couldn’t agree more. Music can be a powerful mood controller for a video but it should be so low that it never breaks into the viewer’s consciousness. Your best point is that we came to hear the insights of this clever fabricator, and that’s music to our ears😅

    I've been looking for a video like this for months.. Most woodworking channels use too many fancy tools to do their projects. You did this project with simple tools w/ the same, if not better results than most other woodworking channel would've done. You just earned a sub my friend.

    • @CReevesMakes
      @CReevesMakes  6 лет назад

      Why thank you! I used what I had in my shop and you can really build this without fancy looks. Its all in what you have available and how you want the bench to look. Thanks again! 👍🏻

    • @Hood.Housekeeping
      @Hood.Housekeeping 6 лет назад +1

      Honest question. If you think this was built with simple tools what videos have you seen, channel?, and what fancy tools are you talking about. Not everyone has a nice table saw or all the pocket hole products he uses or even a router. This table has got to be the best I've seen yet though.

    • @CReevesMakes
      @CReevesMakes  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the question. All of my tools are run of the mill big box store tools that are readily available and affordable. Technically, you could build this table with a drill/ impact, circ saw, and a jig saw. The sanders and routers are all for superficial reasons. I do this for a hobby that sometimes pays for itself. So when I get some funds, they go to buy new tools. Thats all. Thanks again and I appreciate the feedback and the compliment. The table has been awesome in my shop since it was built. Just used it tonight. 👍🏻👍🏻

      @Khaim3ra5o3 5 лет назад +1

      @@Hood.Housekeeping you clearly haven't seen other people's videos making this type of workbenches, but like he said, you could always buy those inexpensive tools anywhere and still get the job done. And if you don't have half of the tools he used, you should really look into investing into some before planning to build a workbench lol

Anyway I'll be add this design to my list of about 5 tables i not only like but can build at my current skill level. 👍

    Thanks for the video. I made several outfeed tables for my shop but the latest one really acts as a 4' x 8' layout table, an infeed table at the exact height to my table saw (cutting a 4' x 8' of sheet goods is easy now) and a storage center for scraps of different lengths of wood. I made the wood storage spaces to different lengths ranging from 24" to six feet. I now don't need a shelf system on one of my walls taking up critical shop space. I also bought some really great wheels with locks at Rockler's so I can move my the table any time I need the room. Really enjoyed watching your project!

      Sure i figured. I have been making high end cabs and furniture for 30+ years and had the screw pocket jig when it first came out in the early 90's.. Didnt use it very often. IMO its not good to use any one system bc it limits what a person will learn when it comes to how things can be done and all the options you have.

    • @CReevesMakes

      I agree Bob, I see its limitations and I have been wanting to test other forms of joinery as I grow in my hobby. For the jobs I have completed to this point, the pocket holes have been a great way to produce quick and strong results. Thanks for the feedback. 👍🏻

    Good video... well done on clear instruction. Mostly I watched this because I didn't know much about Kreg tools, so for it was effectively a 15 minute commercial for Kreg clamps. You've converted me to the Kreg system.

      @@CReevesMakes I cheated- I had acquired (for free) several large (6'), commercial stainless steel, kitchen style, tables with galvanized bottom shelf and legs. Added caster wheels, cut hole for the standard size S.S. sink. Added a water hose & adapter, for the cold water supply line. Plumbed the drains into a 3 gallon bucket. Painted the top and shelf. Wrapped and glued rope around the legs. Boom...Pool Party - Rolling kitchen sink, grilling, prep, bar table! That can get wet!

    I recently built this and am happy with the results. Casey did a great job and put a lot of thought into the design. I would recommend the project but there are a few things I would do differently. I paid a premium price for MDF with a laminate top and wish I had just bought the laminate myself and glued it to hardwood ply. The reason? You have to screw through the ply underneath the MDF to attach it and screws do not work well in MDF. In that regard, plywood isn't that great either, but it's much better that MDF! And I experimented with every method - different pilot holes, etc. Also, be careful where you put the third crosspiece on the torsion box. The metal track sits right above it and there is not a lot of wiggle room to get the screws in. And he doesn't mention it, but you can't put the last crosspiece in until the very end of the build because the screws from the rear metal track have to be in first. And you'll need to notch out the crosspiece to accommodate them. That's not an issue though. Unlike the video, I routed out for the vise before I attached it to the box. It was much easier, and I don't have the freehand skills Casey does. All in all, it's a project well worth the time and effort to complete it.

      Thank you very much for the review Mark! I appreciate all of your information. In retrospect, I think I would have added threaded inserts and bolts to hold the top on. It’s a more secure way to align and lock everything down. When you change out the top, just remove the inserts and use them on the new piece. I also should have done the vice locations before finishing but it was a last minute idea. The track bolts and the torsion box was also a last minute “what do I do now” moment. Thanks for all the support and for building this plan!
