Good one !! Two thumbs up.. I'm a ham radio operator have been since 1975. You did a fantastic and very simple to understand explanation of multiband frequency hopping. The technical aspect is why I just purchased a Mavic Mini in the fly more combo. The Air 2 will be next. Good to see someone that really gets that side of flying these things... It's not just a camera ! KY enjoys your vids, but man you can have that city.. Been there done that in NYC traveling for the telecommunications industry . Was raised in the country and that's where all my video will be shot. I can imagine having a DJI in NYC though.. That would have been fun !

A few things:
1. The original Mavic Pro has Occusync 1, which is only 2.4ghz. It does not have 5.8.
2. When describing Occusync, you stated it switches between 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz and everything in between. I take that statement as it also uses 3ghz and 4ghz. That is incorrect. It only uses the 2.4ghz range and the 5.8ghz range, ie. 2.48, 2.47, 2.43, 5.87, 5.85, 5.83, etc.
3. Flying your drone with it behind you is not a big deal. The antennas are omni directional, meaning they give out and receive transmission in all directions, not just where you are pointing it. Granted, you will probably get a stronger signal with the top of the controller(the top of the portion that holds your phone) pointed at your drone, but flying behind you should not be a problem and will still give you good transmission.
Lol.... Chris. Why don't you make the video.. lol . Being your so exact at everything you could be the go to guy for all things DJI here on the tubes. BUT I'll learn from this and whenever I speak I'll make sure to be clear for guys like yourself.. the question is why you felt the need to pick apart the video and find statements that could be wrong is looked at them a different way. Like pretty much everything in life. Yes occu-sync 2.0 looks at just the both bands started not the ones in between.. and btw.. your dead wrong about mavic pro 1. It's not just 2.4..... lol if it were I couldn't go ten ft here in the city. Bud I'll also double check that as well.. btw. Billy Kyle does a much better job at this kind of stuff. I wouldn't be upset is you unsubbed me and went to him to learn about these drones.. after all.. what really matters is.............can you fly... And that I HAVE COVERED.. YAHOOOOOOOOOOO. This is a long shot as your video is a year old. Which version of the fly app were you using there? I'm keen to roll back to a version where the AE lock is visible.
I also liked seeing the ae lock on screen. I'm not one for the long press short press thing.. lol. I'm not sure what version I was on but it was early.. lol as you said it's a year old..

So.... with the occusnyc 2.0 your better off leaving it on auto but old school wifi you need to have pick a Channel and stick with it for the whole flight....

I live in a very wooded area in Mississippi and once I get around 1000 feet in front of me my signal drops down to about two bars and the fee that I start getting back gets jerky so I’ll turn around and come back and sometimes it’s very disappointing because I watch all these other videos people go in 2 miles 4 miles
Trees will do that to you Paul. Try going higher if possible and make sure to point your controller at the drone height is your friend. Especially with trees. Try going to an open area you will get a totally different experience. How that helps bud! 🤟🤟🤟💙💙💙

Im only getting 900 meters distance out of my mini 2. That's at 80 to 100 meters altitude.

I got a mavic 3 and I don't get no where near as much range as some v😮😮edeos of people online...what can I do to improve this? I've seen .videos of people doing 8 k meters

Tutorials are great, something I knew little about now i understand. Any idea why the Air 2 would have very stuttery display while taking panoramic 180 images? It didn't but now it's very jumpy on my screen. Fly 1.2.4 on a Galaxy S7 Tablet. I also recently tweaked my gimbal settings for smoother video but I wouldn't think that would affect how it moves to take a pano.

As far as your problem.......
That's weird. I rarely do photos and panos but I'll test mine to see if I have the problem .... Whenever something like that happens what I do is an update refresh on the computer with the assistant ² app for mavic.....
Then I recalibrate everything including compass and IMU... ALSO don't forget the CAMERA SETTINGS .......... RESET YOUR CAMERA SETTING back to default, Then do a auto gimble calibration. Write your numbers down first so you can put them back to where you liked them... I hope that helps some.. 💙💙💙💙👍👍👍

Also saw my props as it was moving between images which I don't recall ever seeing. I was hoping to get up flying for some snow images but it's really coming down and windy :( Maybe someone braver will get out in this.

Good video , but to be clear, if I am flying in a rural area with no wi fi interference, and I’m going for distance, I should put in 2.4 GHz, Smooth rather than HD, and 20 MHz for maximum distance?

It's strange. my Original mavic pro will go double the distance with clear video with occusync 1.0. Than my Mini 2 does with occusync 2.0.. and my Dji occusync goggles wont connect to the mini 2..

I will say this their power to administer fines should be taken away after looking at their abuse of administrative duties regarding your case in particular. So funny Pete. There's a big debate about that crap lol... IMO IT'S NOT WORTH WHAT YOU LOOSE.. LIKE MAPS ETC.. just put your phone on "do not disturb" mode. That's better. This way there's no calls or texts while flying. That's why people do airplane mode anyways .. But to me "do not disturb" still keeps me on cellular which I want when I'm flying.. But to answer your question it's not a big difference in my testing I got about 500 ft to 1,000 ft tops.... further and when you're talking about 10 to 15,000 ft does it really make a difference at that point.... I think not... Lol.... 500 ft further than 15,000 ft is no big deal to me.. especially when I can have my maps in real time and know exactly what's going on with my drone because it's hooked to the internet.. just my opinion Peter.. lol.. 🤟🤟🤟 thank you for the comment and support sir💙💙👍👍🤟🤟

Leave it on both.. let the drone pick. That's called OCUSYNC 2.0. Let it switch between the two. When you pick that's manual. You don't want that . Hope that helps bud? 👍👍💙💙

Yes absolutely get the alientech but if you want awesome results don't get the antenna spend the extra money and get the amplifier

Try changing the cord your using.. hope that helps..

Also make sure to turn off wifi and Bluetooth on the device your using to fly the drone.. 💙👍👍. You should be able to get at least a mile with that mini 2... 💙💙. No problem... In fact much further but definitely a mile anywhere even in the city where I live.. 👍👍

I was using Mavic2Zoom for a couple years. Just last week bought Air 2s. In Air2s it mentioned Ocusync 3.0 but for me personally, what i got on Mavic2Zoom is greater than I had in Air2s.
Well, this is due range and weak signal from controller of Air2s. But after watching this video, i got some clue on how it works.
Before I could fly my dji mini 2 so far. Today I can’t go past 50 ft without an error message. Can someone help
Hey Mikey. New subscriber and Great video, just what I was looking for. I recently purchased the mini 2 and since I live in an area surrounded by tall trees I've been skeptical to fly any distance. Would you say that as long as I have a good amount of RC bars I should be safe?? Or would you advise against flying any distance in this particular location?? Thanks
YaHOOOOOOOOOOO. Welcome to the Philly Family💙💙💙💙🤟🤟🤟🤟. Branden your fine as long as you have bars.. I would say at first don't last it go down lower then 3 bars. Below that it gets sketchy.. just make sure to always have a good home point just in case it looses connection. And make sure your setting is set to RETURN TO HOME if connection is lost.. most important funny forget to have fun.. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👍👍👍👌🤟. Thx so much for the support....

I can't use 5ghz ... If I use 5 it's just disconnect...
Better in your place use 2.4ghz/20mhz or auto lot interference and obstacle, Use 5.8ghz/10mhz for longest fly less interference that's correct settings
In correct sir. Sorry lol. 5.8ghtz. Only in hi wifi areas... Just trust me on this one. 2.4 is for long distance ONLY.... 💙💙💙💙💙
