My grandfather was one of the engineers who worked on the engines for the A-6. Sucks that they only added a premium variant and nothing in the tech tree, especially for such a famous airframe with almost 50 years of combat under its belt
it might come in later versions. it should come at least. this thing was the air power. only thing that came close was f-16. if they come out with a later version of it i hope it gets the anti radar missiles. most under rated jet ever.
I think this plane might be a great plane for those wanting to buy 1 plane, you get pretty much all the functions available and you can try every game mode.
If your doing custom battles with some friends and want to play it like a Prowler you can go full flares and chaff pods, then escort Alie planes and use the A6 to make a wall of chaff and flares
I had no idea it had flare and chaff pods. I really hope they add the prowler or growler though at some point. Electronic Warfare is bad ass and I'd love to hang high in the air jamming some try hards
first of all I love this plane, its absolutely worth it IMHO
secondly:
no, the TRAM could not carry the AGM-65 or other missiles such as HARM
that capability was only added with the A-6E SWIP modification that gave the plane a digital missile control panel, a new RWR and new GFK wings
the only weapons it is currently missing are:
-AGM-123 Skipper II (laser guided, rocket powered 1000lbs bomb)
-AGM-45 Shrike
-AGM-78 Standard Arm
-AGM-84A, B and early C Harpoons (D models need the Missile panel of the SWIP)

I love it, it is actually a lot of fun. I load out the full 500s and fly low and fast ( 100-300 ft) to the side or in cloud in air realistic or simulator. Strike the bases. It is how it was flown in real life.
a-6e is such a cashgrab, Lower br than f-5c, Higher rank and SAME RESEARCH AS F-5c

Yeah it’s the same. But they are different ranks it’s easier to research the f16 or any rank 8 in this case with the a6e than the f5c cause of the RP penalty system they have

the intruder was dominate in real life as well. enough so that despite not being a flashy fighter or a massive bomber it got it's own movie. "fighter pilots make movies, bomber pilots make history" ~flight of the intruder. This aircraft outlived and out scored them all.

I genuinely like the A-6E. It’s been my main grinder since it dropped and run the same load out. In Sim, the GBU-10s are great and hoping they give it mavericks soon.

@@quarkedbutt3957 dude if you got a good jet that can do 1 of the 3 which are base bombing, carrier bombing or dogfighting and your good with it a standard play session of 2 hours is going to fully unlock all modification for your jet and possible out the other rp into 50% research of your next vehicles.
Id recommend premium planes though as the reward is of what i said before and repair cost is super low like below 7k sl while making a shit ton

TRAM didn't carry Maves, Harpoons and HARMs until the early 90s with SWIP upgrading. The A6 is my second fav aircraft and my fav bomber.
God damn, take a closer look at that SCHNOZE.
You keep mentioning the 5 1000lb GBUs but you fail to mention the NINE, yes NINE, 500lb GBUs. Who needs a larger bomb when they have perfect accuracy anyway? At 10.0 this thing can fly out of range of SAMs and have a 9 kill potential before returning to base. Stacked with the speed and climb, this thing breaks the game in a downtier.
You are 100% correct! Accuracy beats everything else. I'm just so used to bigger bombs being preferred.
I use the 2000lbs bomb and the missiles usually get about 1 kill and base kill pending on the enemies I can sometimes get 2-3kills with this thing played right. Is it slow yes but flying low and fast with it you can get atleast a base kill and possibly 1 kill
The only thing I don’t like about the smaller bombs is they’re harder to hit fast moving targets, since the 2000s have better radius and are more forgiving
You should buy it if you dont want to have to grind 5 rank 7 planes. Most people just w keyed for f14 so they would only have 3, 4 counting f5 so they would have to get phantom or a10 late.
Yes but the f16 grind is painful because if you have only grinded fighters like me, all rank 7 aircraft except the f8e is top tier and grinding with top tier aircraft is not enjoyable
I used the A10 to grind the rest of the planes that I needed to get to the f16 just need 200k more rp and I will have it

9.7-10.3 was one of my favorite brs. After apex predator, however, there is nothing but A 6/10s spamming aim 9 Ls and flares. The days of old fashioned (fighter) dogfights increasingly feels like something from the past, sadly. Kinda like5.7 being dead due to ju 288 and f2g spam :(. My other favorite plane, the F4j, can only play mig29s now. Apex Predators has ruined a lot of my favorite brs. I'm totally down for adding more advanced aircrafts, I just think increasing the br brackets would be healthy (12.3 ect)
@@jayklink851 Yeah. My Japanese 10.3 lineup does not appreciate all of the all-aspect missiles that get regularly thrown at it these days....no flares until rank seven.

It's not a strike fighter. The A in A-6 stands for attack, the F-4 is a strike fighter. You've also identified a problem with all aspects of air battles, they are so fighter heavy that attack planes and bombers will always be shot down.
King of US CAS now, although slightly less fun than the A-10. Much more effective.
They totally missed the mark on this with the avionics. Cockpit artificial horizon should show ccrp points and the radar should work (and detect ground targets which are then displayed on the artificial horizon).
One thing to mention is that even though this plane was known by its radar… it lacks a radar ingame.
well the prowler has the radar and other electronic systems, while the intruder is the precourser

This model actually couldn't use missiles. The A-6E TRAM SWIP is the plane your thinking of, which will hopefully be a tech tree plane.
i would rather wait until a 30-50% off sale ... 70$ is basically the cost of a tripple AAA game
Pretty good if you play it like how they used it in Flight of the Intruder
I'm currently levelling my British tree with the Harrier G1 and this thing is a nightmare. SRAAMs are practically a guaranteed kill within 1km(rear aspect only) which is great for knocking out A10s and other bricks but these things just have to look at you and you explode especially since there aren't any chaff launchers on the harrier. If you dont kill it first, It WILL kill you. Unless you are a mig-21 and just zoom right out of our plane of existence.
Harrier GR1 is kinda painful. It’s not too bad if you drop the 5 bombs on a base (you will make money) and then climb a little and fly around trying to gun/SRAAM people, but at least with me, if I’m going to die(Aside from later in the game, but I won’t loose money then and will probably have done stuff), I die right at the start to A10s/SU25/A6E to all aspects.
Its radar still needs to be fixed/added; (I don't know when was the last time the game had so many bugs and errors after an update BTW). I like this plane very much, for its looks, but I'll wait, that's for sure, do to i hope the tech tree gets a more advanced A-6E SWIP soon; (like how it is with the A-10), and if not I'm sure when the "summer sale" comes this pack will be part of it too, + who knows what changes come till that point. Also I kind of need it, kind of I don't (got both A-10s now, and the F-5C as well, if i need a multirole premium, or just a CAS, but I prefer helicopters anyway, for mixed games).
this jet is great for aviation matches , but not that good for ground RB
anything at 10BR strike without lock and forget is kinda hard.
because ground 10BRs is normally going for 10.3 , the AAA system is really strong at that BR
i recommend this jet if you want to unlock USA aviation tec tree
the aim9L missiles currently the strongest in the game .
I love this plane is insane broke mechanic balance game. Just spam missile and back to base then spam missile! My record personal economic is 30k xp, 150k credit with premium membership. What an insane! Worth it and can great performance without cannon

I'm pissed it launched on the live server without a functioning radar like the dev server. The laser also got nerfed and isn't 360* like it was on the dever server, so you can fly over targets anymore. On the live server all it is is a high-tech dive bomber
It’s like 300 degrees, hardly enough of a difference to make a negligible effect ingame

You can still do flyover drops it's still 360 I literally just did a match where I did drops from 25k feet
3:44 Incorrect. Mavericks, Harpoons etc came with the later 90s SWIP modification. Then again, the TRAM could get the AGM-123 Skipper II

It depends on the situation. Price difference aside, the A-6E is better for Air RB (although only for missiles. A-10 has that nasty inboard GUA cannon), whereas the A-10 is better for ground RB. They're both very good at both game modes, however. So, in short, I'd probably say the A-6E is better in Air RB, although the A-10 can be substantially more devastating with cannons than the A-6E ever could.

Would not recommend its usage in 11.0 ground RB battles, you are a sitting duck and you can’t come closer than 12km to the battlefield because you will immediately get shot down in a 12km radius if you are not flying very very low…
Which is „kinda counter productive“ if you want to use LGB‘s.
So if there is 11.0 AA, there is no possibility for you to bomb

Honestly I would of preferred if they gave us a variant of the Aardvark instead of the A-6. The A-6 at that BR while faster then the A-10 might as well be one. The F-111 atleast could go mach 1.4 on the deck.
saying the A-6 sux (as a dogfighter) is like saying a Ferrari sux(at carrining a lot of stuff). Ppl always try to compare things that cnt be compared. You cant compare F-16 wit an A-6. they are designed to do coplete different things. so its pointless to compare them.
I despise this plane, being able to face 9.0 planes with 4 all aspect aim-9l's? That is just insane in quite literally every regard, what are the planes facing it meant to do? Wait for it to kill four of their teammates before coming in for the kill? That option is not even possible considering the 5 other a-10s or a-6e's beside them flying in one big swarm of all aspect cancer. The 9.0-9.7 BR has finally succumbed to the sickness that is premium cancer.
What about the su 25 being able to face 8.7s? Seems way more unfair and plus to kill both our points, 9.7-10.0 99% of the time never faces 8.7-9.0.
@@Boombox-gh8gx I feel as if the Su-25s pose an equally harmful but lesser issue than these as the r-60m's though they will absolutely obliterate you within 2km of you are limited to exactly that due to their short range. The aim-9l however says fuck you and will shove itself up your ass from 5km away no problem. You can learn to play around the r-60 however that may be but once someone gets a lock on you with an aim-9l it's over, period. But all this is accounting for 9.0-10.0 gameplay, 8.7-9.0 I personally don't have much experience in so I cannot say for sure which planes have countermeasures or not.

also buddy lazing NEEDS to be a thing in this game. Let the M3 Bradleys and M1A2 Seps, drones and helos do what they did best. spotting a tag teaming targets with bomb trucks like this.
"slow speed" bruh its as fast as Mig-17 and its a designated attacker, not a fighter. It shouldn't even be competetive against dedicated fighters it meets.
AIR RB is so fcking dogsht right now, I am losing interest in WT hard. From the Ju-288, to Su-11 to Su-25 to A-10 to A-5C to A-6E all the way to the F-14. Completely uninteresting gameplay.
Why can't we have the true drop in drop out AIR RB EC with improved objectives like protect the AWACS or something?
Its just stare at loading screen, take off, rush in the furrball, get kills, die, stare at loading screen. Dude I swear staring at the loading screen takes longer time nowadays than the matches itself.

At 10.0 in ground in a full down tier it will face SPAA that can't effectively fight any plane further than 4km away, where it gets 9 laser guided bombs that can be dropped accurately from 10km up, making it completely immune to attacks from anything other than other aircraft. It should be higher in GRB.
@@Bobspineable Lol you are out of your mind. Take Germany for example, it gets comparable ground loadout at 11.3 and even then the A-6 can do it better.
It's a 9.3/9.7 performance plane with 11.0 air to air capabilities and 11.3 ground capabilities. Should be nowhere near 10.0.

I bought the A6E, the MIG-21 Lazur, and the J35XS. I was most hesitant and least excited about the A6E and so far that's the been the most fun of all 3 by far. I've been using 4 AIM-L's and bombs. May try the single gunpod loadout that was suggested. Generally when a plane has one gun and it's not center mounted I become quickly annoyed with it, just like the J35XS's single cannon.
I bought this thing and its a bezst when paired with the bomb two missiles and a cannon pod
It can track behind the plane? I don't think so... That gameplay footage was only showing a kill because the explosion was close enough to the target. Had you been higher, meaning the deviation would've been greater, you wouldn't get the kill.
Edit: Hmm, weird. It does seem to track behind plane now. When it was first released, I did a test drive. It wasn't able to look behind.

I think the main issue is the Br. If this thing is 10.0, I don’t see why the tornado can’t be 10.7. Not that this, and the A10A shouldn’t be at least 10.3.

Definitely a P2W plane, just like almost any other premium vehicles introduced into the game this year.
the J35XS was the biggest P2W, the JA37D is a copy and paste of the JA37C, given it missiles the C version could already carry and more flares through a BOL pod, even though the C could also carry that.
would of made more sense if the new viggen came with RB99's but we wont see that for a while.
dont get how the a6e tram is 10,0 when the j35d is 10.7 and that has not flares, worse missiles and no tracers.

I agree with the Su-25K being a higher BR, too. I casually play that plane and get 4+ kill matches with ease. It's ridiculous. I don't even need to try. With other planes and much more effort, I'd be happy with a 2 kill match, but with the Su-25K, 2 kills is my floor.

Currently, I’ve had this plane for a little over 12 days, in the whole time I have had it I have maybe gotten about two kills with the aim 9L’s, almost every single plane at this BR has flares, and it is just too slow to bomb any bases, essentially a missile Target that is super easy to hit, be warned before buying

Double ugly is my favorite plane and i got it granted people use it for air to air but i justtook 8 mk77s and 1 aim9 did low level bomb runs gantanteed two bases and at least one air to air kill ang grinded the the f-16a (cas) in under 3 days with 4x 75% boosters lmao. But it is fun to fly the intruder
The A-6E looks like it should've come out in the 1950s and that it would've mounted either six .50s or four 20s.

Come on man. Recommending a 70 dollar, mediocre (at best) premium vehicle? This is probably the easiest vehicle to say no to based off the price alone. Compare this to a game like DCS where 60 bucks can get you a much more detailed, much more accurate model.
Mediocre? It has 4x 9L at 10.0. It is a definition of pay-to-win.
