- The F-20 Tigershark is a currently tier VIII premium jet fighter that costs $74.99. While not being as good as the F-16A, at least based on stats, I somehow do much better with it than with the F-16A. The Tigershark is a VERY challenging vehicle to judge.

The F-20 was able to carry Laser and TV guided bombs as well as fuel tanks so I'm not sure why it didn't get them in game...
It probably will eventually. If I recall correctly the F4S didn't get drop takes until after several months of being out.
Because like the xm1 gaijin is a Russian company and refuses to give us premiums what they actually used. The xm1 in game is awful besides it's blowout panels
Look was this expensive... Yes. Do I love it... Yes. Is it worth 75? Maybe. But I have already grinded 4 tier 7 planes and made 5 million lions since it came out. It's been a massive time saver. This plane cost me like 2 hours of work in real life. But has saved me a month of grinding already.
I have a similar take after completing germany (other than alpha jet) and most way through ussr, I don't really feel like grinding US. The flight model is ridiculous, the missile load is ok enough and I find it far more consistent than I am with f4s or mig29.. or tornado lol.

Im loving this thing 2 to 3 kills per game. I love that people assume that everyone who buys this is a noob. Had a lobby talking shit about f20 players, but at the end of the game both f20's were at the top of the leaderboards. Get good scrubs
Haha, I also have f20 and just finished playing and my last 3 matches I got a 4 kill, a 3 kill and a 1 kill without a single death😂 my loadout is 6× aim9l and the 30mm gun pod. Are you getting a ton of downtiers? At least 60% of my matches are and I'm loving it.
Don't have the money for the F-20, but got the A-10A when it was 50% off and I had researched almost all the Rank 6 US planes. I do so love all the people that think I'm just another 'lol I buy brrrrt for high tier' player, then wonder why they just got killed by an A-10 using it's gun in a dogfight on their 11.0 fighters. Even more fun when they do manage to shoot me down, and so instead of the 30 mm and 2 AIM-9L's (cause I don't use gun pods on an A-10 or almost any other vehicle) I spawn with the tech tree one with 4 9L's to further torment them with, though at that point, they usually figure out I'm not the noob they think I am and try and keep me out of guns range.

Sincerely, my take on buying top tiers premiums is that except for the Blue Water Naval Premiuns, most relatively green players tends to have a very hard time adapting to these vehycles and their multitude of new systems.
I've been playing for a little over a year, and have accumulated some premiums and squadron vehycle both non top tiers as well as top tiers for both Air , Ground, Coastal and Naval and Blue Water Naval American and Russian tech trees.
I started buing the starter packs for all nations, the full alert pack and both pq if campaigns, then picked up some premium super-props, then I've discovered that Naval has the most enjoyable game modes, and researched and spaded the entire America Blue Water Naval tech tree in almost no time.
But at a certainpoint it was becoming a problem playing Naval without premium account and getting past a certain level of where you have loads of similar vehycle that tend to often be on uptiers where they stood little chance before they get fully upgraded or at least upgraded up to the level 3 upgrades, sometimes even needing some level 4 upgrades are needed for these ships to become competitive, and since in Blue Water Naval, every upgrade is more expensive than Ground, Air or Coastal Naval, so when you win, you win insane amounts of RP and SL, but when you lose, it is also a giant negative SL hole in your pocket.
I remember one time, that I started playing with around 500k SL, and then I've got ona series of half a dozen full uptiered matches where Ihad the bad lucky to have been one shoted at least once per match and lost pretty pretty quickly without killing any enemy, and the. I was only left with about 2k SL, which forced me to play with ships 2 ranks bellow my current rank in order to get enough money to play, because I couldn't pay for the my uppet tier ships repairs, rearmment and replenishing their crew.
It was then that I bought my first top tier premium, it didn't make grinding Blue Water Naval much easier, and far from a piece of cake, I didn't perform much better than before, but I was more competitive because using the premium ship once per battle guaranteed I would always get a very positive SL cash flow, even when I've got my arse handed to me on a golden plate at a particular bad match, I would still get positive SL results. Later I've ot all Blue Water Premiuns except to the most recent one, most with GE which I earned playing, since until recently there was just one bought only with money premium on the Blue Water tech tree per Nation, and the most recent rank 6, BR6.7-7.0 premiunss (top Naval is Rank VI iamd BR 7.0) are quite a expensive.
With Air and Ground my experience is far worse, I wasn't a begginer by any means, when I bought my few top tier jets and tanks, indeed I was already somewhat experienced as I was at upper tiers of Rank V on Ground and early rank VI on Air, but still I simply couldn't cope with processing so much information all at once, when playing with rank 7 premiums, as to properly play with them one have to learn how to use radar, IRST, RWR, and their multiple modes, knowing which ordinance to use against which enemy and in which situation, having to keep track of missiles being fired at you, and getting used to remember using countermeasures, or looking for a plane being 10 km alway anda few seconds later it is suddenly firing their canons on you at point blank, because the can go Mach 2.
The same applies to Ground top tier Premiuns, with thir Laser Range Finders, Thermal Vision, Drones, Helicopters, etc., and the enemy team's players sniping at you from the other side of the map before you even realize that you have thermals, Laser Range Finders, etc., or you getting killed by someone lurking in the shadows with their engines turned off and the right camouflage to I distinguishable from a bush.
Most beginners would not get 3-4 kills per game if they spend money o to tier premium jets and tanks, because they would have a very hard time learning to fly these planes or how to drive and shoot with these tanks, they until they master it all, they are just easy prey for experienced players that knows what they are doing.
And nothing drives away players from games with a revenue model like war thunder than actualy spending real money for some item and getting worse results than before. So begginers buying Premium top tiers are probably single purchase users, they buy, get their ass handed, feel cheated by the company, and either stop playing or never spend money again. More experienced users, have a higher probability of purchasing multiple top tier vehycles than begginers.
If I, a relatively experienced player, already playing at a relatively high Rank -- early Rank 6 in Air and 5 on ground -- couldn't initially cope with the learning curve of Rank 7 premiums right away, imagine how much worse is the experience for truly begginers. Sincerely, only when I've got late Rank 6 Air and Ground that I started learning how to use the Rank 7 Premiums, but then they were not needed for griding the rest of the tech tree.
On Blue Water Naval having a premium has a smoother learning curve because there isn't much different in the combat itself when you go up on the tech tree, sure the ships becomes way slower, the guns get way bigger and better, fire rate decreases dramatically, but with few exceptions, like ships that have missile launchers, the combat system is almost exactly the same from reserve WWI Destroyers to late WWII and early Cold War Battleships. So adapting to premiums on Naval, specially Blue Water Naval is a breeze, xmpared to ground and air.
Sincerely, my Rank 7 premium tanks, I still don't know how to play them properly, to me they are a little like the M50 Tank Destroyer, great when you get to use it exploiting its strengths, but most often then not you'll be trying you best to not being killed in one shot.
@@superJ1047I certainly didn't pay 75 dollars for any vehycle in WT yet, but sincerely, if I have more fun playing a paid cntent, I see no problem in doing so.
My lifetime purchases on MSFS (which I play since 1993) is way larger than if I bought enough GE/SL to research, buy and spade every single vehycle on every tech tree in WT. Even my DCS lifetime purchases is way higher than all money needed to purchase all premium vehycles for sale in WT put together.
The problem is spending money and receiving no perceived benefit or value on the purchase. Which, to me, often seems to e the case in WT. Finance will teach you that you trade money for value, or at least perceived value. It doesn't mean that the value perceived needs to be shared by others, even though it is a safer investment whem it is the case.
The F-20 pulls more AOA than the F-16 AND has better low speed maneuverability.
I still remember that shooting range video when they said "we will never add top tier jet premiums" im 99% positive that video is still up. Either way the F20 is beautiful and more people will buy it to strictly bomb with it. I'm almost positive you can't even get a single base with its bombs too. Finally, it was only a matter of time before they added a T80 premium. Since the Click-Bait came I KNEW a T80 premium would come and here it is. Don't be surprised if a Leo 2A5 comes soon too.

its technically not a top tier prem. its 12.0. top tier would be a 12.7 premium.
So far i can say the plane works well, but its not worth the asking price. And of course the us teams are like GER ground
its an OK vehicle but it will suffer the F-4S syndrome where loads of noobs fly a decent aircraft and are free kills flying around in top tier
Ariette, is the best plane even at 11.3
So, I don't know if they model the warheads differently (F uses a continuous rod, M uses fragmentation), but the M in game tends to track things better at closer range and at lower altitudes. To say nothing of high alt where I've nailed planes having fired from 25+ km away that the F just doesn't hit for some reason. I wouldn't say it's a quantum leap like going from basically any previous AIM-9 to the 9L, but it does perform noticeably better, at least to me.

Yeah, or Christmas. Last year they released the rank 7 planes. I didn't buy any, I waited for the sales, some on November and other in Xmas. This F-20A is the first plane I buy full price in like a year and a half. And I'm having fun with it. I didn't want to wait 8-10 months.

Made a whole new account and got this to see how good it is at grinding and its a really good grinder i am getting called a noob and shit because im low level with a f20 but it doest matter its not the plane its this pilot for this aircraft its very good just be sure to watch out for your fuel

The plane is one of the best dogfighters in the game BY ITSELF, but at BR 12 it gets outclassed by everything else and it also costs 75 dollars so yeah...
the issue with $75 is that it’s the cost of a whole game, and all it’s going to do is allow you to progress in a free to play game. $60 are already insanely expensive
How about separating props and jets tech trees like blue water and coastal navy. This will let new players that want jets get in and maybe help them learn jet gameplay with a reserve jet.
This is a scam to bait noobs. It's gonna get eaten alive in uptiers and will be mediocre at best in CAS. I wouldn't even buy it in a sale. You're better of getting the F-5C. You can still research up to rank VIII with it while enjoying excellent performance at its current BR

F5C has fallen off. Lots of uptiers, and yes u win most turn fights but ur crappy engine with its slow top speed means u aint catching anyone, and most people know to avoid you in a turn fight

13:03 I'm goddly in a F-4 phantum 2 in ever game/sim but am only just good in the F-16,F-15 and even F-22... Because my playstyle is best suited for the F-4 then it is to the newer fighters... Which the F-20 is likely your F-4.

f-4s just has terrible maneuverability, more of a strike aircraft or long range missle spammer with the radars guided aims
It depends on the play style you want. Do you want a missile truck with a preference towards medium range attacks, or a lightweight knife fighter?

It's fine that this vehicle is a premium. Only 3 were made, and there is one remaining in a museum. You have the F-16A in the regular tech tree that is about the same. No need to put it in the regular tech tree.

Only buy it if you enjoy top tier gameplay and know how to use it. So many idiots with this thing fighting on the deck with the aim-9ls and wasting them. this thing has incredible time to altitude and you can easily sling your sparrows up at 15k feet ~1.2 mach and you will hit your target if they're not notching/hugging the deck. Then dive down and dogfight whoever is left and low on energy.
If you want to use the Sparrows, get the F4S. 11.3, and it has 4 Sparrows.
@@valrond the F-4S doesn't have the same time to altitude and it can't regain acceleration quick enough after maneuvering
Climbing with sparrows is foolish and won't ever convince me differently. You have way more kill potential lower to the deck as
1: you fight USSR a lot as USA, meaning you will get outranged and outspend by R27
2: no good player will ever die to a radar missile past 15km
3: hugging the deck, mostly and usually, gets the win
