I have over $500 in Star Citizen ships and far more in DCS modules. That said $70 in WT is ridiculous.

Nice Dinner? Regular fast food is more like it... 1 Large Pizza, 16 Honey Chipotle Wings, Garlic Bread Sticks, Drink, and a Dessert from Papa John's or Domino's is fairly close to $70. This doesn't include the tip for the delivery driver.

Getting into DCS completely killed all desire to play War Thunder for me. Once you see what money gets you in that game, there's really no reason other than maybe a desire for arcade gameplay to continue with War Thunder. Everyone's time and money is their own, so no hate, but that's my stance.

My favorite part of the GBU was when it said “it’s guiding time” and then it guided itself right into the target. GBUs are really one of the guided bomb units of all time

The only reason I’ll be buying the A6 is my personal love of the aircraft IRL. It’s always A10 this and F14 that, (I love those aircraft too but let’s face it, everyone does) but the A6 is an unsung marvel for the time period that it served.

I feel like for the price you have to pay for these rank VII premiums, they should at least add more GE or premium time with the pack.
My father flew in these as the navigator/bombardier during the Gulf War. Wild to see it finally in-game. Hopefully it gets added to the tech tree eventually.

PSA: The A-6 is currently very broken on the dev server.
From what I have heard, the targetting pod is supposed to be able to look behind the aircraft and its missing half of its thrust.

Going to be honest. I was super looking forward to this plane coming out. I'm not crazy about the price but mentioning this plane makes me wonder. How will WT handle electronic warfare? That was a role this plane filled
I get the feeling that electronic warfare will have to be a big update to the game as there are many aircraft that should already have jammer pods on them. How that will affect the BR is anyone's guess.
that was the EA-6B Prowler. It’s ew brother. this variant was used as a SAM hunter in Vietnam (that is just the A-6 Intruder) The TRAM variant was introduced in 1979

I like how they charge like a DCS module when it doesn't come close to a DCS module, Heatblur will come out with a full fidelity A-6 module in the next few years and it will almost certainly be at or below 70$

There are plenty of gamer SIMPS out there willing to shill for the greedy companies and their predatory practices.
Personally I've already quit multiple online games because of the blatant stockholder driven greed of some companies. I have no interest in dedicating myself and my bank account to a single game experience (which is the goal behind the live service push). For the first time in my life I'm looking at a future where the majority of my leisure time is spent NOT gaming.
I used to have a toy of the Intruder as a kid, and it was one of my favorite planes at the time. I'd even struggled thru using it in Ace Combat 4 and 5 just to fly my lil toy plane in game lol. Idk if I'll be buying it anytime soon tho, even tho I do have a full-time job lol
i mean. still better than some of wargamming packs. i once saw a tank in their store for like $150 for just the tank. at least with these you get premium and GE aswell. still very expensive, but could certainly be worse

$70 is worth it for a plane on DCS. But to get shot down by SAMs or play a 3 minute long AirRB battle its a big yikes.

Paveway II is the name of the guidance kit installed onto the existing Mk series dumb bombs. That's why you can see GBU - 12 Paveway II (based on Mk 82 500 lbs bomb) and GBU - 16 Paveway II (based on Mk 83 1000 lbs bomb)
As a Star Citizen player with a tophat and monocle, $70 isn't bad for endgame premium stuff.

I saw a jet go down because of an asymmetric bomb load, they had a fuel flow issue as well but it's a valid concern. Also I think the A-6 is cool but it would have been nice to get the EA-6 or else get anti ship missiles. I have to imagine they added the MiG-29S because jammers are on the horizon but a slow heavy attacker like this really would have benefited from a jammer and it would have been nice to see how it would have changed the F-14 meta.

This is why I left. I bought a 50$ tank, and I just felt STUPID. It was a worse waste than anything i had ever bought before. I didn't even have a little plastic piece of crap that breaks, I just had some pixels, in a game I don't enjoy anymore, to play with friends who stopped playing competitively a LONG time ago when it became apparent WT was never gonna be balanced enough for tournaments. Nah. I had to grow up, 50-70$ is a tank of gas, people. Make good choices.
One time youre refueling full, next time youre homeless because of pixels. Who wouldve known, that one childish play would turn your fate 360 degrees.
Over here that would be 1/3 of a tank for the $50.

Completely agree with you Phly, at the same time, I want to play Star Citizen and those vehicles cost between $110 to $1000 for a freaken virtual vehicle which stupifies me bc I can afford it as a controls engineer but I’m not spending more than a year subscription to a game so 60-80 dollars would be my cuttoff but still, realisticly, I’m never paying more than $30 for a vehicle out of principle
Last I played the vehicles in the actual game (SC) were able to be purchased for in game money. This $70 plane cannot be purchased with anything other than cold hard cash...
The Intruder has to be one of the most underloved and underrated planes ever, just look at Desert Storm. It was incredible. Enough to justify $70 for a pixel version in WT? Ehhhhhh.... No
The gaming industry has been sitting on 60$ wall for a long time, so it's natural prices went up to 70$. However, asking that much for a single vehicle in a game with a whole bunch of other premium vehicles, premium account and other paid stuff, that is just bollocks...

You know someone's a WT addict if they defend this plane. I work and have a family, so don't have time to grind, but I would never buy it.
DCS modules make sense since so much work goes into them and the flight models, clickable cockpits, all flight systems, etc are fully modelled. This, all they did was copy and paste a flight model and tweak a few numbers. The model looks nice, but isn't laser scanned or has been studied down to the bolts like a DCS plane would be.
They should of given us the EA-6B Prowler so we would have a Counter to Radar systems in the game.. That would be a better Premium
$70 for ONE plane? Not only no, but HECK NO. If I'm wasting $70 on an item that is just a tiny piece of DLC and not even the full game, I expect it to unlock a pretty massive chunk of the game. If anything, I'd expect $70 to unlock EVERY vehicle in the game, not just one. This is a straight-up scam. =^x^=

@@lightningstrike5024 if you are into sim games, you get a very high fidelity module that's very challenging to learn, fun to fly and is as close as the real thing as it can be. but if you are into games like war thunder with a more quick and arcade style, then DCS will have no value to you.
It is mostly a question of what do you enjoy more.

I hated being deployed next to these, because they were as loud as an F-16 but as slow as a C-130. So on take off, they were just noisy for a long time for no reason.
