HOW to CROCHET SPIKE STITCH CLUSTER - Stitchorama by Naztazia

You can learn how to Crochet the Spike Stitch Cluster in this video tutorial. Hi I'm Donna Wolfe from Naztazia. This is a crochet spike stitch that you make into clusters. It's a very simple pattern from my Stitchorama by Naztazia collection. It consists of single crochet stitches and elongated stitches. The only trick is knowing where to put the spike stitches. You can use any size hook or weight yarn. In this video, a size H 5 mm hook is used with medium worsted weight yarn.

I love trying and tweaking patterns. This is gorgeous but as it's for a wedding gift I wanted something show stopping. I think this pattern would be great for like, a purse, where a flat backside is preferable. As a blanket though I didn't like the back so after each time I pulled up a loop I would do a yarn over from the back, it uses more yarn, but if you have it to spare I LOVE the way it makes the pattern on both sides. Just thought I'd share, I'm using a variegated yarn and love to see the color shifts in the big plumes. You should try it. ^^

I've always wanted to learn this stitch! With the right colors you can make it look like its on fire, or ocean waves crashing on shore or beautiful florals growing from grass. several beautiful choices!

I was self taught at age 7 by my Aunt Johanna but didn't learn to read the instructions until I 17/18 yrs old by my now mom-in-law! Absolutely lovely lady! I've taught our oldest and middle daughter. but middle is only one to take an interest.
