Thank you for sharing this beautiful spike stitch pattern! I love the way that you explained everything, you make it sound like I should be able to do it without any problems.
So glad I found this video❤️ It's exactly what I was looking for and will be perfect for my temperature blanket. Thank you for such and easy to understand tutorial!
I found a really cute pattern to make baby booties, and saw that it required a spike stitch. Being new to crocheting, I looked for a tutorial to learn this stitch and found your video. I realised that the pattern I'm trying belongs to you! I found your website before your youtube channel :) Listening to your voice made me wonder where you're from, as I recognised the familiar South African accent, but also mixed with a bit of an Australian accent. Your About Me page confirmed this. Fellow South African here! Love your tutorial and your pattern! Well done!
Hi Miss HopefulHoney, Letting you know this tutorial is absolutely beautiful. Your explanation of the stitch pattern is easy to follow so I will consider this a future project of mine. Thanks alot for sharing.
Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Alex Layne Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Could I do this with double stitch? I love how pretty this is however I am making a pillow case and would like to use this with that. Thank you! great tutorial!
I understand I'm waaay late to reply to this, but I was actually wondering the same thing. I'm thing that you can wrap the yarn around the hook first maybe and just make the next loop extra long... It would probably work with a double stitch too.
I keep coming up short on stitches at the end of the row of the spike stitch. I'm basically chaining multiples of 6+1. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong though. Maybe it's an extra chain as well?
Could you please let me know what size needle you are using and what kind of yarn? You are very easy to learn from and I will love to make this. Waiting for your response. Ayleen
Can you post a pattern for this? I'm chaining multiples of 6 and adding 1 at the end and I keep coming short on spike stitches and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. It would be easier to read a pattern
You say do a multiple of 6 and then 1 then you say chain 1. So if I do a chain 12 and1 that will be 13 then you say chain 1 again so will it be 13 or 14? Sorry if I seen stupid but I do not know.
Good tutorial! You mentioned the initial chain is a multiple of 6+1 but when I hear you count initially, it sounds like you're adding another chain to your already multiple of 6 for a 6+2. Is this correct?
I have the same confusion. So, if she's holding the full chain, I counted 19 chains. So, that would mean that the chain 1 she's beginning row 1 with isn't the +1 of the starting chain.
Hello I know it's been a couple of years since you posted this video, but I am hoping for your help on a question. I have done the first 7 rows exactly along with you, but my whole pattern kinda crumbles together. I keep pulling my stitches so that they are not being pulled tight , but it doesn't seem to be helping. Can you think of why this would be happening to my project. I thank you in advance should you get back to me.
Hello Elvah! 😊 You're probably still pulling your work too tight - try working the spike stitches a bit looser if possible. Another tip, the spike stitch usually does do a bit of curling at the ends of a design/swatch, but blocking will take care of that.
Lovely guide, but your starting stitch count is off. You clearly chain in multiples of 6 plus 2! So your rows are 19 stitches in this tutorial to make your pattern.
I like the way you have done this tutorial. The music is lovely and so is the stitch.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful spike stitch pattern! I love the way that you explained everything, you make it sound like I should be able to do it without any problems.

love your tutorials. Can you please mention the size hook your using. That would be so helpful :0)
Perfect!
I love the look of this stitch. Can it be done on a wave pattern? Could you demonstrate it in a wave base please.
You need a metal hook since you crochet tightly like me
It will slide much easier ?
this looks super pretty! i have a little concern, if yarn of a spike is cut or torn, will it come undone? how would it be fixed? just curious! thanks
ellerinize saglik cok güzel olmuş bebek battaniyesi yapmayi duşunuyorum

Is there any difference if we do this stitch in a round?
احسنتي النشر وبارك الله فيك يا اختي
how are you tying off for this pattern. I yarn over the talls, but didn't look nice
Can I make this pattern in a bigger scale with a multiple of 10?
Están bonitos los puntos felicitaciones en español por favor gracias
I keep coming up short on stitches at the end of the row of the spike stitch. I'm basically chaining multiples of 6+1. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong though. Maybe it's an extra chain as well?
I have also came up short and I've torn my work apart 3 times. I think it has to be 6 +2 because of the single crochet at the end of the spike row.
What is this yarn? I'm obsessed!
Drops Paris Yarn
Could you please let me know what size needle you are using and what kind of yarn? You are very easy to learn from and I will love to make this. Waiting for your response. Ayleen
I used a 5.0mm hook and Drops Paris yarn :)
May I have a pattern for this one please (Spike Stitch) because it is hard to watch video along with closed captioned together. Thank you.
👏

U have a nice n beautiful voice
Where can I get this in a written pattern?
It's not a pattern. It's a stitch.
You say do a multiple of 6 and then 1 then you say chain 1. So if I do a chain 12 and1 that will be 13 then you say chain 1 again so will it be 13 or 14? Sorry if I seen stupid but I do not know.

That is what I am confused on. Is the chain 1 the plus 1 or is chain multiples of 6 then add 1 then chain one for row 2?
try multiples of 6, plus 1
I have the same confusion. So, if she's holding the full chain, I counted 19 chains. So, that would mean that the chain 1 she's beginning row 1 with isn't the +1 of the starting chain.

Have you or anyone ever used this stitch on a chevron style blanket?
я тоже такой крючок хочу-где купить, может кто подскажет? .)
what's the meaning of multiples of six plus one? anobody can tell me? i dont understand :(
Lovely guide, but your starting stitch count is off. You clearly chain in multiples of 6 plus 2! So your rows are 19 stitches in this tutorial to make your pattern.
Sorry, I got confused. Is it 61 or 62 in total?
i cant get my starting right
