Probably should of mentioned that the DT990 edition has less clamping force and a straight cable, the dt990 pro uses a coiled cable and high clamping force. also the dt990 edition comes in a 600 ohm version

Love your reviews, thank you so much! I’m torn between these and the audio Technica ath g1s that you reviewed. Which one would you recommend? I plan on getting a FiiO A3 to pair them with. I hope you’re keeping well and thank you in advance!
The Techne Thank you so much for the reply. I was leaning more towards the Audio Technica’s, however, I’m now considering the Steelseries Arctis Pro’s. There’s too many headphones to choose from! Out of the Steelseries, or the Audio Technica’s, which one would you opt for? I really appreciate your comment so thank you!
CBFM1 what type of gaming, if you’re into competitive shooters the I would still consider the 990s they will give you a serious advantage, if you play less competitive games maybe more single player stuff you should look at the Philips X2HR’s
When you say these are for competitive gamers everyone watching this video will live the role and will put these in their shopping carts cuz in fact you mentioned a quote used in gaming headset's marketing
The best gaming headset I've ever had is my new current build: Philips SHP9500 (those headphones are fantastic, you should try them on). Since they are only headphones but with a 3.5mm removable cable, I attached a V-Moda BoomPro microphone and BOOM! You got a freaking awesome headset to play ur games. I now attached the Custom One Pro headset gear I had lurking around in another drawers and put it instead of the V-Moda. This is still a fantastic gaming headset when those things are combined
I normally plug my headphones directly into my AT2020USB mic so I can hear the audio back as I speak. Would I not be able to do this with these then? I don't get the amp thing.
I have closed ear headset version of this and absolutely love them. I am also looking at creative AE-9 well. What is your opinion of the wireless Audio Technica's?
I love the Arctic headsets because their comfort and sound but your sort of new Turtle Beach review the Elite Atlas made me question how about a Turtle Beach Elite Atlas vs Any Arctics of your choice. to make me buy one of these headsets for once and for all.
I actually came to this channel looking for an arctis pro vs elite atlas aero comparison before seeing this beyerdynamic review which a friend recommended over headsets in general. @the techne for pc fps gaming, which would you prefer? Or do you have a recommendation outside of those 3?
I use a blue yeti, which is right in front of me, and it doesn't pick up anything, the sound that you hear only floods/leaks out of the headphones if it is really loud.
Dude I said the same thing about how they sound. I always tell people it's like being in a room that has a very high quality sound system. They sound a bit distant (not in a bad way though) you can really lose yourself in how they sound especially listening to music
Does the amp works to add a microphone to this dt 990 headsets or do I need to buy sone sort of special mic? I bough this headset but I am debating if a returned them o not. I just need to be able to connect a mic
This video really helped me decide what headphones to get but if it’s posible to answer my question, can you detect enemy my hearing the foots steps (surround audio) Thanks!!
GoodMen Anakin bought the arctis 5’s as I only had a 100$ budget, these are really good for the price, surely not the best but as I said, really good, I could hear every foot step as it has 7.1, really recommend it for a 100$ budget.
Hey. Really great video and got my :p I'm about to buy my first amp and don't know witch to choose? Just got my first beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250 ohm but no amp for the moment. So lookt at the ae-9 and got interested but is it too advance for the first time? Should I go with something cheaper?

yeah I have been looking at them, I'm just not a big fan of open back
Do these have a mic built in? Or do you have to buy a microphone seperately to speak into while gaming with friends?
separate
their dj headphones so no theirs no mic in it
Hi Techne, you are the best for headset review! I have one question. For Gaming FPS ( warzone) Better Beyerdynamics DT990 32 Ohm or Philips Fidelio X2HR??? Thank's from Italy!!!
Heya Techie! Im Wonder On IOS but an alt :D got 2 subs outta me. BTW about m bluetooth situation im able to spend alot more money! Any suggestions for a 100$-150$ Bluetooth Gaming headset? Btw im working for a pc but the headsets for gaming on my phone.
You can modify them to an upgraded removable cable like a mini xlr. All kinds outings you can do with them.
Can you review the beyerdynamic dt 770 pros? I want to know if they are worth it for gaming. I am thinking of buying them. Also another review idea, the phillips phidelio x2, Im also thinking about those.
@Icarus Kid appreciate it
Love the review! I'm hesitating between dt770 pro or the dt 990pro, wich would you rock? im leaning towards 770 because I game in the living room xD and wich ohm? 80 or 32?
Probably should of mentioned that the DT990 edition has less clamping force and a straight cable, the dt990 pro uses a coiled cable and high clamping force. also the dt990 edition comes in a 600 ohm version
oh wow, I didn't know they had a straight cable version. this coil cable drives me nuts!
So you wouldn’t recommend this for console correct? They sound distance is what you said if I’m not mistaken
yeah I just don't like them for gaming in general. they focus on the highs way to much, and remove all the immersion from games.
Bro literally if theres not a product review of a big channel the techne will be there
Hey man love your videos .
can you make a video recommending the best usb mic for streaming/chat ?
I haven't used many usb mic's. but I will start testing some
For gaming, I would highly recommend the DT770 Pro 80 ohm.
Does it have a built in mic
@@vapour5392 no way
@@Radhaugo108 does it
@@vapour5392 NO!
@@Radhaugo108 well I’ve got a mic adapter so if I plugged it in to that would it have a mic
I have the ae7 soundblaster and my arctis pro sound fucking amazing now 👏 are the DT990 pros that much of an upgrade?
I saw every second of the video
Absolutely great job 👌
I Have a question I really hope you answer me on it
If I liked everything on these headset and told you to put it aside
And just talk about the sound
Are these the best headset for those how play online like rainbow 6 and other stuff like pupg and need to hear the foot steps because you said that the highs were very pronounced
And is it better then the hayper x cloud ALPHA S .🤍🖤
just got these almost a week ago now to replace my m50x's, I still havent got my dac / amp yet but theyre already so much better than the m50's a lot more comfortable too :)
oh I love my 50x, but I do use brainwaves pads on them
Love your reviews, thank you so much! I’m torn between these and the audio Technica ath g1s that you reviewed. Which one would you recommend? I plan on getting a FiiO A3 to pair them with. I hope you’re keeping well and thank you in advance!
I do not like the beyerdynamic headphones for gaming. they are great for music, but they take out some of the immersion with gaming
Do u think that u could find the opponents better in Fortnite thtat with the hyperx cloud ii???
I like how subtle that intro was KEKW
The best gaming headset I've ever had is my new current build: Philips SHP9500 (those headphones are fantastic, you should try them on).
Since they are only headphones but with a 3.5mm removable cable, I attached a V-Moda BoomPro microphone and BOOM! You got a freaking awesome headset to play ur games.
I now attached the Custom One Pro headset gear I had lurking around in another drawers and put it instead of the V-Moda. This is still a fantastic gaming headset when those things are combined
I have them ;) review coming soon
@@TheTechne Oh can't wait to see that one! Like I said I'm really not a fan of open back headphones but those one totally conquered me
The shps are not gaming headsets though!
WHAT GOT THIS LIKE IS THE "WOW JUST PERFECT"
I normally plug my headphones directly into my AT2020USB mic so I can hear the audio back as I speak. Would I not be able to do this with these then? I don't get the amp thing.
You would but they might be a bit quiet
Get the 80ohm versions of you dont want to buy an amp
I have closed ear headset version of this and absolutely love them. I am also looking at creative AE-9 well. What is your opinion of the wireless Audio Technica's?
@TheTechne do you need an amp for the 80ohm version of this headset?
No, but it will make it sound better.
Yo, any chance u could review the cloud alpha S headset?
Keep up the great work
Next try the HE4xx so you can compare open back planars. I wouldn't recommend them with the soundblaster amp but you know what to do.
I love the Arctic headsets because their comfort and sound but your sort of new Turtle Beach review the Elite Atlas made me question how about a Turtle Beach Elite Atlas vs Any Arctics of your choice. to make me buy one of these headsets for once and for all.
what platform are you on?
I have the Xbox one x
@@Luna-mo4bp arctis 3 are a good pick. but yes the atlas are awesome as well.
@@TheTechne Thank you might go for the Turtle Beach headset not because i have glasses because i want a wireless one.
I actually came to this channel looking for an arctis pro vs elite atlas aero comparison before seeing this beyerdynamic review which a friend recommended over headsets in general. @the techne for pc fps gaming, which would you prefer? Or do you have a recommendation outside of those 3?
Being open back headphones, would my mic pick up the sounds that flows out of the headphones?
I_Dawg123 its possible, i think it depends on how far away your mic is etc
I use a blue yeti, which is right in front of me, and it doesn't pick up anything, the sound that you hear only floods/leaks out of the headphones if it is really loud.
Slaiff oh cool thanks!
I orderd the dt 770 pro 80 ohms for my xbox series S im exited to try them out
hey man im switching soon and do you think I should get this headset I comfy stuff!
I have a soundblaster soundcard...So its better to get 250 ohm as opposed to 80 ohm?
@the techne what ones do you think are better ARCTIS PRO
Peerless High Resolution PC Gaming Headset or Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro
Dude I said the same thing about how they sound. I always tell people it's like being in a room that has a very high quality sound system. They sound a bit distant (not in a bad way though) you can really lose yourself in how they sound especially listening to music
oh yeah, they were amazing for music (well certain styles of music)
I have been rocking the DT 990's 32ohm with the GSX1000 dac amp for 2 years now. Absolutely incredible gaming combo
Do you need an Amp for 32ohms?
@@florider_hd Na I don't believe so but the gsx1000 is a fairly low powered amp so it combos better than the higher ohm version headphones
Does the amp works to add a microphone to this dt 990 headsets or do I need to buy sone sort of special mic? I bough this headset but I am debating if a returned them o not. I just need to be able to connect a mic
So if you have to pick which had better sound quality which one would it be Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro or the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT?
This video really helped me decide what headphones to get but if it’s posible to answer my question, can you detect enemy my hearing the foots steps (surround audio) Thanks!!
Brian Cancel hey what headset did you buy?
GoodMen Anakin bought the arctis 5’s as I only had a 100$ budget, these are really good for the price, surely not the best but as I said, really good, I could hear every foot step as it has 7.1, really recommend it for a 100$ budget.
is there any video where you have advised good headphones for gaming under different budget?
Which model would be better for positioning DT 770 pro or DT990 pro in games (COD Warzone, CS GO)?
Nice. Ever tried the sennheisers GSP 500, 600?
I haven't tested any sennheisres yet. many to come this year
Hey. Really great video and got my :p I'm about to buy my first amp and don't know witch to choose? Just got my first beyerdynamic dt990 pro 250 ohm but no amp for the moment. So lookt at the ae-9 and got interested but is it too advance for the first time? Should I go with something cheaper?
yeah, check out the G6 or X3 >> ruclips.net/video/Y2YsVTGdGoM/видео.html ------ ruclips.net/video/2pH6zbV6ToM/видео.html
@@TheTechne thanks for fast answer. Lookt at both the videos and the G6 seems to be the better choice there so its definitely in my thoughts :) thanks
I got a dedicated sound card the soundblaster x ae5 and its wow blown away...
Is the best you try for competitive gaming? (Footsteps) some headphone imaging better than this dt990?
Is the 80 ohm better without a sound blaster ?
i'm looking at either getting these or the Philips Fidelio X2HR which are slightly more expensive, both look great
I prefer Philips coz the cable is detachable 😆
@@kuiper3500 that’s the one I ordered
FINALLY THE REVIEW IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR! THANK YOU!
Yo techne have u tried the mmx300 yet??
Can you use this headset with Xbox one? I am looking into getting a new headset and I want a good quality headset. Would be great if u answered me.
Not this one specifically. He mentions it at the begining. The issue is the Ohm value. You want something like the DT770 32 ohm for a console I would guess
the soundblaster command its setting my dt990 to sorrund 5.1, for fps like warzone its better to set like this or stereo?
sir, between dt990 pro and hd 58x what you think better? i see price almost same. thanks
Too bad the SoundblasterX G6 doesn't support 2 sources at the same time (PC/PS4). I'm still wondering how it'll go if I plug a USB switch with the SoundblasterX.
quick question, does the g6 amp plug into your computer via usb or do you need to plug it into something else and then the pc
Your the man brother!
