Do is any CMOS battery compatible or is there a specific battery to buy. Because I'm worried if the battery doesn't work. For instance if I use the lenova battery with the same connecter as the Compaq one
As long as you have the right size battery it should work.
@@HowToVideoChannel I need advice my laptop when I switch it on it shows the 502 error about the CMOS battery and it goes on a cycle reboot switching on and off by itself without going into windows. Does it mean I have to replace the CMOS battery?
Sounds like it. I suggest calling Radio Shack or a local computer repair place and ask them. Often times, they should be able to tell you what needs to be done.
This is fine, but can someone please provide a video tutorial to locate and replace the BIOS button battery in the Compaq Presario 2700. There is a RUclips video describing the complete dismantling of the Presario 2700 but surely that would not be necessary? Or would it?

The whole computer runs on this solitary battery?
Becuz im facing issues of not being able to start this same laptop
( All it shows is blinking charging light and doesn't even switch on which is kinda frustrating )
So if i change this battery...then will it work?
The processor needs that battery. But the computer itself runs on a larger power source. Either a battery or you use the AUX cord and plug it in.

I feel it's the main battery ( 6 cells ) that's causing the problem

I’d try a new battery. They are pretty inexpensive on eBay. It won’t hurt to replace the internal CPU battery as well. That way, you can rule out any and all battery issues.

I have a computer like that the problem is the battery was bad so I give my dad he did not touch it so it was there taking dust I just bring it home today it was heating up fast like a pot cooking
