    I have been all across RUclips, seen tons of "repair" themed videos.
    And hands down.....This channel is one of the absolute best. From the skill, knowledge to the absolutely calming demeaner of Angel. I am shocked this channel doesn't have over 500K subs. It is that damn good. No where else can you learn and actually have a teacher who totally calms and relaxes you on the repair journey.

    I'm almost done getting the starter motor of my wife 2005 Range Rover. Couldn't have got this far without your video Angel. Just struggling to get the locking clip off the smaller lead, once that's off I'm home free.
    Thanks a million Angel.

      It's even more of a pain in the arse if you don't know how to actually see the top bloody bolt! I've got a full sized 4.2 supercharged and am joking the job today. I could not do it without the help of Angel's video. I've just been back out to look at it and the sport is completely different. There is only one shield over the top of the starter and no side shields. The chassis rail goes past where the shields are on the sport so there is no access. The shield is fixed to the what is effectively the bell housing at the rear end but I can't see where it is fixed at the front. Back to the drawing board!

    Thank you so so much for posting this Angel. I have a full sized Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged here in the UK and my starter solenoid has gone bad. I've been under the car looking to get it off this morning but could not see how to get at the top bolt or actually where it was. Especially as the bottom one goes in from back towards the front of the car and I could not for the life of me see where the top bolt was! It didn't occur to me that it would be going in from front to the back lol. Must be getting old, in fact I AM getting too old to be getting under Land Rovers at 68 years of age, but I can't afford to pay anyone else to do it! So thanks once again for your video and now I am going to subscribe to your channel !

    • @samrodian919
      @samrodian919 2 года назад

      I've just looked at the car again and it's not like the sport at all. Only one shield over top of starter fixed at rear onto bell housing but no access from the side like the sport as the chassis rail runs right past with the tubular diff and suspension carrier just below. I will have to try to find out where the front of the shield mounts so I can get it out of the way and try to get access to the top bolt and to the electrics. Job for tomorrow I think !

    Angel just want to say your videos are really nicely put together. You’re very detailed and your pump and filter replacement video for the l322 helped me a ton. Might have even been easier for me to do it than it was for you because I was able to see you struggle and with that in mind I knew what would be hard and what wouldn’t be. So when the hard parts came along I fully expected them and they went much smoother. Thank you man

    So the problem was the car actually could start but it took several attempts until it started, right ? It happens to my car occasionally. I am not sure my starter is really bad, because as long as I make sure the battery doesn't discharge too much, more often than not, my car can start, although sometimes after several attempts.

    • @FixItAngel
      @FixItAngel  6 лет назад +1

      Lex Soft have your battery tested. If it is good then more likely your starter is going bad.

    • @lexsoft3969

      I don't have voltmeter/multimeter.
      But when the ignition is ON, all electric driven parts work : all lights, radiator fan, AC blower, etc.
      Anyway, I know the starter needs replacement sooner or later. :)

    To avoid losing settings can I use a memory saver that connects to a 12v battery. Or will it cause damage to the car when taking the starter live cable off as my tool may touch the frame?

      Fix It Angel Thank you buddy I dont want to be putting in radio codes and resetting other settings on the computer on newer cars. but then maybe the system is still live with the memory saver and i can damage it even more if I arc my tool from plus to minus. I didn't explain it very well before. Thank you for the videos keep up the good work. These cars are a pain in the arse to work on! Peace.

    How long did it take to replace it? Thanks for the video. Would like to pick your brains. I’ve got an 06rrs sc with 188k miles on the clock. I bought It second hand. For the past six years, I’ve got this intermittent hard to start issue, especially when it’s cool out. The longest it took for the engine to fire up was 5 seconds. The battery is new. Is this normal or acceptable? Any feedback would be appreciated. I don’t want to start replacing parts if they’re not broken, but if it’s a cheap fix, I like to tackle the problem. Thanks again for your patience.
