David and Guy are touring this fall to introduce David's new album "Luck and Strange,", due for release on September 6. David's daughter Romany will also be performing vocals and harp.
I have seen quite a few bands in concert (including Pink Floyd twice). The best 2 live performances I have ever attended were Pink Floyd and Pink Floyd.
The bass player/ vocalust is Guy Pratt. He has worked for many well known bands and is currently with Nick Mason's(Pink Floyd's drummer) Saucerful of Secrets band. He also has a personal connection with Pink Floyd in that he was married to the daughter of Pink Floyd's keyboardist, Rick Wright
This brings tears to my eyes. I saw them perform this tour in Pittsburgh 30 years ago. With the opening laser flashes and David teasing us with his guitar, we all knew what song was coming, and we couldn't wait for it to start, but at the same time, we knew it was the beginning of the end of the show. A most fantastic ending to the greatest concert I ever attended. I did see Roger Waters a couple times a couple decades later, when he did the entire "The Wall" album. His shows were fantastic too, but the Pink Floyd rendition was the best.
The bass player is Guy Pratt. He's played with Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Roxy Music, Tears for Fears, Icehouse and many many more massive musical artists. He's currently in Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, the Pink Floyd spinoff band. He's written books, done a one-man comedy & music show, acted in films & TV, does a podcast with Gary Kemp from Spandau Ballet (and fellow member of Saucerful of Secrets) called Rockonteurs. Thoroughly nice (and very funny) man.
There's lots of stuff from Gilmour's solo concerts that you'll definitely love. Here are a few recommendations: - Fat Old Sun (from Remember That Night) - In Any Tongue (from Live in Pompeii) - Breakthrough (with Richard Wright, from David Gilmour In Concert) - The Blue (from Remember That Night) - Castellorizon/On An Island (from Live in Gdansk) - A Pocketful Of Stones (from Remember That Night)
Any track from the pulse concert is musical gold. You just can’t go wrong. Famous for their long intro’s and sometimes abrupt ending s. Mainly because those tracks were intended to be heard as a complete item with the preceding track and the track following. Sometimes listening to just one track in isolation is a bit like reading a chapter from the middle of a book on its own. This particular track was the end of this concert and was the third track of their encore. I can’t stress enough how ( if you can) experiencing the whole thing at one time is so important.
Wow, what a good version of that song. And the visuals, the lights and the fireworks, really seem to add to it. Our gracious host looks beautiful and the music is Amazing so stop and watch.
Funnily enough, you usually get the credits at the end of films and TV shows, I was at this show at Earl's Court and it was absolutely amazing, I'd recommend it for any other songs that you want to react to if it's an option.
Guy Pratt is the bassist and has pretty much had the job since Waters left. He's also usually part of Gilmours touring band and he is the bassist for drummer Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets band and has a damn fine podcast with Gary Kemp called Rockontours which you would love.
Great reaction. This was the last song of the Pulse concert, hence the credits on the video. Really makes your point about the shape those on stage have to be in to still have that much energy at the end of the concert. About the number of people needed to make something like this happen, when Pink Floyd went on tour they had over 50 trucks broken into 3 fleets. One carried all the lights, amplifiers, speakers, etc. being used for that day's performance. Another was unloading and setting up at the next venue, while the third was loading up from the previous city's show.
I strongly recommend watching more from the PULSE concert if you haven't done so already. "Sorrow" "Learning to Fly" "High Hopes" Also from the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour "On the turning away" and "Dogs of War"
Gilmour is going to play a few dates later this year. For the folks in the USA, he's playing in LA and NY. Especially in LA you can still get some verified resale tickets from slightly less than $100 and up. If you like/love Floyd/Gilmour and you have the means to see him, please do so. It will most likely be the last chance to see this legend play.
Hi LIJIE you can,t go wrong with PINK FLOYD , or DAVID GILMOUR. I have seen them both in concert a few times each. The song is off the album THE WALL. And GUY PRATT is actually RICHARD Wright's son in law how cool is that. GREAT bass player. GREAT reaction. Don,t forget about SEESAW by PINK FLOYD. it's always great to SEE you💖💖🙄
Originally, at least going back to the late 70's, Roger Waters was the bass player, vocals. Old Floyd fans know this, along with the drama. Gilmour has always been a class act. Big plus, he can play a guitar, innovated the manipulation of the instrument at a new level.
Hello Lijie how are you please check out a rock band from Japan called BAND-MAID and their song Choose me (Official Music Video) I hope you will enjoy them. 😊

This was a major concert, I was there. If I can make a recommendation, please don’t feel it necessary to stop and comment every few seconds. It is good enough to watch your reaction and only interject 3 or 4 times with a summery at the end, otherwise it becomes painful to watch. You do realise Roger Walter’s was a member of Pink Floyd tight?
You still haven't heard it. David Gilmour doing the vocals is basically the only thing that separates this from Brit Floyd. Try listening to the real Pink Floyd. Roger (not Rodger like your first comment) Waters wrote the vast majority of their music. It may sound cool but it's not Floyd.
Why are you interrupting the song every 5 seconds? Making the most ridiculous comments. Plus, every time you interrupt it affects the sound from the video lead and ruins the song. Just LISTEN FFS. Comment after.

Great reaction - THANKS for reacting to my request! The bass player is Guy Pratt. What a performance!!!
Reacting to this Pink Floyd performance was both inspiring and entertaining, so thank you for your request! ❤

Well I think they are 2 and 3 with number one being…well, Pink Floyd😂

You that live performance was MAGICAL in real time. Awesome 👌🏾

This was also the Encore when I saw this Tour, the lights were so bright that it made your eyes tear up (at least I think that was the reason...)

That was fun...Guy Pratt bass n vocals.
Hi Glen, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Guy Pratt is an incredible musician! 🔥
Yes, He is married to the daughter of the late Richard Wright and is literally an integral part of Pink Floyd.
GREAT !!!!!!!! reaction

The song was in the movie Pink Floyd's The Wall.
Lovely reaction

Wow, thank you!! And your YT logo is wonderful 🙏❤️

Sorrow is EPIC!
Coming back to life next babe

Great Reaction watch Sorrow, Keep Talking, Money, Wish You Were Here all from Pulse concert
Cool reaction Lijie!! When the screen exploded I fell over basically. Saw this tour in Madison Wisconsin. Whew.....Might see David in the fall.
DG never rushes his music.

How about reacting to 'Take It Back' from the same concert? Much love from the far north of New Zealand.♥ (Nice outro)
I might be wrong, but I think this song was in Herbie: Fully Loaded, from 2005

I prefer Waters' voice to this song. He sounds waaaay more manic to me.

Any instrument in David's hands is a good instrument. I'm a Jackson guy. But that would not be a good choice for Floyd
Only a total NOOB would interrupt this Mastepiece
I Maybe To Old , But I Can’t Watch This Reaction’s, To MANY INTERRUPTIONS 😁😖 Bye 👋
You are not old!! I do have to interrupt the video so it doesn’t get blocked… 🙈
YOU MOST BE 80 YEARS OLD SINCE ORIENTAL PEOPLE DON'T LOOK THEIR AGE.
