That explosion, at the end, actually did shake the whole building. The best gig I ever saw by a country mile.
I'm just grateful Waters conceived the album, then wrote all the lyrics for all 26 songs, the music for 23 on his own and co-wrote 3 songs with Gilmore and 1 with Bob Ezrin. Floyd weren't the same after he departed.
I was in Munich the tour before...even the first explosion and drum hit at the beginning of the song made my Lemonade splash...after the concert we wondered why everyone looked at us like we we were insane until we realised that we where shouting...but my ears recovered eventually...

He had to go though, megalomania had taken over his mind.
This concert took place 28 years ago ('94) and remains the benchmark for brilliance to this day.
Now THAT is a show ! Cannot be beaten !!
This show, lights, lasers, sound was in 1994 and is STILL ahead of it's time.
I said the same thing. This is 1994, couldn’t even imagine what they could do in 2022.
I was at one of the nights and you aren't wrong! 🏴
It wasn't ahead of it's time. It was of it's time. It's just that the level of excellence has dropped since then.
@@waynemarvin5661 28 years later and no one has ever topped this show, I would call that ahead of it's time.
I’m not entirely sure they were lasers, rather laser’s forerunner called VariLite (spelling may be off).
This live track is in the Guinness book of records for the most lights used in a live track performance
I can well believe that. I caught this concert by pure chance on late-night TV and just couldn't turn it off (even though I had work in the morning). The lightshow and the music just mesmerised me and I became a diehard Pink Floyd fan overnight.
I was at this concert at Earls Court, I still remember heading home with a bunch of friends, noone said a word for hours. First thing I remember hearing was "what the fuck did we just see" :)
Great to see others enjoying as much as we did :)
LOL, I saw "Delicate Sound of Thunder" at the Nassau Coliseum in 1987 when they recorded the concert film and we had a similar experience! It was a smaller stage show than Pulse but it was also 7 years earlier! There were beds and pigs flying around, they had surround sound, fogs, lasers, crazy spider lights coming out of the floor, the back up singers could've been their own band! It was like being at Devil's Tower when the aliens landed in Close Encounters of The Third Kind!
I can totally relate. We did the same thing when we saw it in our city. I believe I've seen all but one of their tours. And while they were all good, the Pulse show did seem like some kind of pinnacle for showmanship. Roger Waters shows often feel very similar. The audio and visuals are often mesmerizing with Floyd's history. That big moving light ring over the Pulse stage created a lot of very cool effects, especially if you were up front and sort of 'under it.'
I was there too, and this track just pushed the overload button after an already amazing show
I was there, too. Pink Floyd make music for ALL the senses. Was absolutely amazed.
From a girl from Australia, I would give a limb to be at this specific concert!! I am so jealous. Lucky you.
Mind blowing concert. No one and nothing beats Pink Floyd
Whoever put the lights to music deserves an award .
Best concert ever. Ever.
The stage chemistry between David and Guy is amazing, they have such much fun playing music
They never had such a good time on stage when Roger was still in the band - ever since Guy Pratt took his place (and they added touring members Gary Wallis on percussion and John Carin on second keys to better replicate their studio sound), they really became more crowd friendly. Sadly, only two tours with this lineup. There will never be another band like this - thank God we have them preserved on videos like this so future generations can have the experience of seeing them in their glory.
Even though Roger sings all of the lead vocals on the studio version, David and Guy trading off will always be my favorite.
Pink Floyd the most famous people you've never seen no interviews no media no album has a pic of them, most albums don't have there name or album name on, yet you know it, this concept is over 30yrs old & is still unsuroassed light show.
Jeans and black t-shirt!! Gilmour is from another planet!!
Run like hell amazing 👍👍
For me, THIS IS THE BEST LIVE ALBUM EVER! And ever will be! I have so many memories around this music, great emotions but also great losses. Pure joy and deep grief united. By the way Guy Pratt (the bassist an son in law of Richard Wright - RIP) is a highly underrated bassist and singer!
was the son in law
Perhaps the only album out there that is at the same level as "Pulse" probably might be Kiss' ALIVE from 1975, which actually started the trend of recording live concerts. Queen's Live concert at Wembley is also there.
@@stefantsarev4442Guy pratt the bassist married to Richard Wright's daughter byg divorced before Rick died ✌️👍
Way ahead of their time . Still gives me goosebumps , and I bought this album ' 89 .
'79 , sorry .
"one of these days" is a must now :)
I was at this concert in Montreal Canada 1994. I remember couldnt sleep that night! Amazing.
Late to the Comment, was there the first night At the Montreal Big O and i could not sleep for a week as well :) was Awsome !!!!
One of those shows that even watching it at home, you find yourself impulsively applauding at the end.
That my friends is how you end a show!👏👏👏👏👏. R.I.P. Richard Wright. We miss you!🥲🥲🥲
I can't think of any rock concert anywhere that would top the 'Pulse' event, to me it is the gold standard.
Saw this tour in Philly June 94 70,000 people singing Wish you were here. the show was amazing.
When Pink Floyd takes the stage, it's like "Do not be alarmed-we are now in control..." ❤❤❤
Run Like Hell was the final song on their finale, after Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb
Pink is one of the best rock bands ever. EVER!!!! The audience knows what's coming. Excitement time!!!! David is such a wonderful guitarist......... This bands shows are off the charts!!! How about those lights???? RUN, RUN!!!!
I enjoy the line, "you better park out of sight, cause if they catch you in the backseat trying to pick her locks, they're going to spend home to mother in a cardboard box. Heavy, but so Pink!!!!! I enjoy you twos channel, thanks.
The original vocals are David Gilmour and Roger Waters, this is Guy Pratt on the bass (no Waters) when I saw Pink Floyd on 1994 Guy Pratt uses a t shirt that says: Im Not Roger Waters!!! jajaja
& he's such a better singer than Waters 👊🏼😂 great musician.
Did you see the stack of rotating speakers creating a mesmerizing sound.. only Pinki Floyd could use it properly LOL 😆 one of the greatest live performances of all time imo
I love how they made Guy’s bass work more audible.
he sings the living hell out of this too lol
Yes, the tone of it is different as a finale rather than as part of the complete Wall, there’s room for it to be less dark.
Saw the Pulse concert live in the audience & nothing has come close in experience of sound & sight. Simply masterful in every way possible to create the perfect Rock concert 👌
This is just an amazing concert performance. I am a huge David Gilmour fan, and I love the light show and fireworks. The whole Pulse concert is amazing. I recommend checking out the song 'Sorrow' from the Pulse concert, as well.
agree with every word you said 😁
Not Floyd without Waters!!
@@MikeB12800 well, it is.
Sorrow has always been my favorite deep track😁
@@chrislc35 shouldn’t be
Suzie…Always looks amazing!
The perfect finale to a perfect concert!
Fireworks and lighting, all about timing, computer controlled, Never, I repeat NEVER will this be surpassed, and I've seen many top rock bands, but none come close👍❤️
P. S. Love your genuine reaction👌
Did you see Roger do "the Wall"...he surpasses it (and I never thought I'd say that). The effects were insane.
@@johnh9200 Roger knows how to put on a show too.
@@fordprefect9296 sadly I've only seen Roger on dvd, superb shows but I still give my vote to floyd.
Tool, Genesis and Yes are up there too. Keep rocking buddy👍
@@johnh9200 only seen the wall on dvd, still prefer floyd show for the spectacular,
Tool, Genesis and Yes along with my Fav band RUSH are also awesome live, keep rocking buddy👍
The Wall was next level. They project a Wall onto the wall at some point and it looks like the Bricks are flying away and you are looking and your brain s going "what the f*"k. and it takes a good two minutes to work out it's a video and the sound and musicianship is unbelievable. Don't discount a chance to see Roger, he is an artistic genius. I was in the Gilmour camp, but for a show, Roger is better.
This song immediately followed Comfortably Numb. Can you just imagine that epic Guitar Solo David did on Numb, being followed by this, and they both along with Wish You Were There, were the Encore. The entire concert was a masterwork! Try from the same concert Sorrow, also there is an entire performance of Dark Side Of The Moon from this same concert! That should be what you should watch. Each song in order. You guys Rock!! Keep on reacting to Pink Floyd! So many adventures to experience!
I was in the building for Pink Floyds farewell tour in 1994. Witnessing a Pink Floyd concert was on my bucket list. I can kick it now.
It doesn't get any more epic than that! And a mahoosive shout out to the percussionist, Gary Wallis, who brought the end of this masterpiece to a thundering finale!! Gary went on to become Drummer and Musical Director for Il Divo, Mike and the Mechanics, but, has been Drummer/MD for Sir Tom Jones for almost the last 30 years....so, David Gilmour didn't just take any session musician on, he clearly saw the talent!!
Dudes reaction was so honest, I've been there. Love it.
The best of the best.
Hi guys, in the studio version, there’s only Roger Waters singing but they used to share the vocal parts between him and David, after Roger left, Guy Pratt took over his parts and sang along with David.
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
Perfect band, perfect concert, perfect playing, perfect everything!
Rick Wright we all miss you!
I saw them live in 1987, the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour. My mom gave me that for my sixteenth birthday, tickets to that show. Nothing has ever come close to that experience before or since. Thank you for this!!
I saw them also 1987 in Cologne and Pink Floyd had to act after a tangible scandal during the tour. What had happened? In this largely computer-controlled light show, it is extremely important that the right lights are used at the right time when the group kicks in. That's why Pink Floyd used a special electronic device to correct misplayed notes and make sure the cues were correct before they came out of the speakers. They could have played "Oh Christmas Tree" entirely on stage, and out of the PA would have come "Wish you were here," for example. With this complex sound, the second guitar or certain percussion effects were played by the keyboard player, which sometimes didn't really work, and that's why today there are two drummers and two guitarists on stage.
Just effortlessly beautiful
That base from Guy , amazing .
I've been a Pink Floyd fan for a long time and if I could go back in time to attend just one concert it would be this one. I've watched the video many times and it is always brilliant.
And THATS how you end a show!:))
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 27 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David and he gave us both a signed album. We chatted for 22 minutes while he signed others albums. 35 lucky people won tickets. It was AWESOME show.
This is how you end a rock concert!
Saw this tour in Toronto 1994. 12th row floor. Best concert I have or ever will see. And I've seen many in between.
Now that is how you end a concert!!!! I was there for my 21st birthday.
i have the original dvd the people kept applauding none stop after they left the stage that they had to come back on stage and played 3 more songs
Saw the concert in Strasbourg, 1994. Simply unforgettable!
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.
Was there live in 1994 Montreal Olympic Stadium ...there is nothing i have seen that comes close they were out of this world!
that's how you finish a show, i watched them on that tour at that venue, but not that night.
Can you imagine being at this concert?! No other concert could ever compare, might as well just hang it up.
At the very end when the ring exploded it was more like a bomb than a firework. The whole building shook for several seconds. How they ever got it past the health & safety officer I can't imagine. I can only assume he was chained up in the basement somewhere! This remains the greatest concert I've ever been to.
Savage lightshow!!
Pink Floyd, MASTERS!!!!!!!
A little known fact: "Pink Floyd" is actually Swahili for "masters of sound"! And don't forget light...
Still have my ticket stub from this Tour... #1) I love my instrument too and I also have a Guitar I'm quite fond of :-) #2) Dude, don't ever play Poker for money, lol your grin (both of you) are infectious). #3) Towards the end when it get's bright, it made your eyes tear up, it was THAT bright. Note: They are using 1 of 3 stages that they toured with, it took 3 days to set up a stage up and 2 days to dismantle, so one night when they are playing on one stage, there is a stage being torn down in one town, while in another town another stage is being built! It was a Monster Tour. Am Subscribed...
Great reaction 👏 🙏 😊
For Pink Floyd live are like no other, one is never enough. On this set They had two drummers with sets, 2 keys men, 3 guitarists and backing singers to die for. They were the pre emminant live tour of the 90s. And in some respects were able to take their studio work and better it Live!! fabulous reaction loved it. If you like instrument sound dynamics try One Of These Days from same Pulse show that closed the first half, equally explosive!
First time I lied to my parents I said I was going to a skating party, my friends older bro took us to our first Pink Floyd concert! I took my oldest son for his 11th birthday to see Pink Floyd! Hooked for life!
Pulse. Great gig in the sky
Gilmour is literally a God walking among mere men, yet at the end he just humbly smiles and nods at the audience. No fanfare. No ego. Just a cool guy who happens to be the best in the world at his craft.
My youngest son wanted to see Metallica for his 11th birthday, four months later we all three saw Floyd! Love your reactions!
two drummers!
The Bassist is Guy Pratt... Incredible!!
Was lucky enough to be there that night. Absolutely amazing show
What a classic !! The Wall my Dad introduced me to Pink Floyd when I was quire young lol. and I Love the classic albuns Darkside if the moin my fave. Animals is very underrated Gilmour album. The late 1968 acid tripping Syd Barrett years Flioyd is a lot different but is good. I miss ya dad.,💜
OMG. Did she just say that this is the master of your instrument? Laying on the sofa playing with it? What? OMG.
I had the privilege to witness this show in New York in 94, this was pink floyd at the pinnacle of showmanship, the fireworks at the end were for real, the music was loud so everyone's ears were ready for that ending, I am 65 now, a mere 30 years has past since, I still have that evening etched into my brain but at least once a month I'll roll a fat one and watch the DVD on my big screen
This is a fucking masterpiece
Pink Floyd always looks like they are having fun when they are on stage. Musicians doing what they love and having fun.
There's one guy having more fun than the backup vocalists, and it's the lighting engineer... basically hitting every button on the console, knowing that there's no next song
Seen Pink Floyd twice in concert....spent most of the time crying my eyes out, at how awesome an experience it was
Pink Floyd Fan since 1967, with Syd Barrett! I was a little kid...."See Emily Play"..Astronomy Domino
Such a perfect amazing show. There is no one like David Gilmour and this group & there never will be again.
The lighting was spectacular & revolutionary for the time and still stands up as one of the most amazing displays ever, even with all the leaps in technology that have happened since this came out in 1995. I laugh when I think about people going out into the parking lot afterward and they can't see a thing in the dark because of the afterimages on their retinas from that blinding finale.
I got the "Pulse" DVD as soon as it came out. I have seen it many, many, many times in the 25 years since. It never gets old. There are some differences in this restored version, such as the explosions and little bits of extra music in several spots. That made me happy. ))
It is one of my life's biggest regrets that I did not take a chance to go to one of their concerts on this tour. Can you imagine what that must have been like?
If you ever get a chance to see the cover band Brit Floyd in concert, they are the next best thing to the real thing. They even use the same round lighting eye and videos & animation that Floyd used in this show.
And the best thing? NO CELL PHONES! Saw this show in Indianapolis and it blew my mind.
1994 Foxboro stadium. Best show I've ever seen in my life. They recorded it in London but played the same show the entire tour. It was amazing.
When the Guitar Master speaks..we all fall under the Spell
Keep in mind , on top of them sounding excellent live, there’re stage and lighting is incredible and especially for back in 1994 at that time when this was recorded!! I was making a delivery to Bobby Dodd Stadium on the Georgia Tech campus here in Atlanta Georgia and the building I delivered to was right behind the stage and I remember thinking how massive that stage was I could only see it from behind but I of went for a short walk around one side of the stadium all the vendors was there like myself and it was just a massive awesome looking set up and that was only in the daytime when I saw it . I would’ve loved to have been to that concert.
Less chat and more Pink Floyd music. Thanks a lot!
I am Floyd fan since 1976 and I saw this concert in 1994 in Berlin it was absolutely amazing In my opinion PF is one of the greatest Group for all time 🤘🤘
I was there, it was life changing, when it finished you just knew it would never be surpassed and here we are almost 30 years later and it's still the greatest concert I ever went to 🙂
In May of 1994, I was fortunate enough to see Pink Floyd at Foxboro Stadium in Massachusetts during their Division Bell tour. The sound, lights and videos on their screen were amazing. It was lightly drizzling that evening but nobody cared. The laser lights were enhanced by the mist and the quadraphonic sound in that stadium was absolutely mind blowing. They ended the show with Run Like Hell.
The backing singers are brilliant. They are like human metronomes throughout the concert. And in the Great Gig on the Sky they get to star, each if them.
Unfortunately, I have never been able to see Pink Floyd in Concert live! I do wish I could get to one of their shows. I have been a fan since I was a teen...
this intro=unique
That is how you end a rock concert
🤘🤘🤘🤘
"One of these days" on the same concert is a blast it deserves a reaction.
Love your reaction to Pink Floyd you better run . Yeah ace
8:29… The Entire Complete Universe performs at every Pink Floyd concert…❤
Funny you mention the drummer (Nick Mason) and his kit at the end. They also had a percussionist (Gary Wallace) on stage as well. This particular song, doesn't showcase Wallace as well. Sneak a peek at "Learning to Fly" and you'll see what he is doing in a cage of drums and other instruments.
Suzie. Suzie. Suzie. You have not watched 'The Wall' yet??? It is compulsory enjoyment for any lover of music. It will put so many of the 'Pink Floyd' songs you have reacted to, into context.
You will watch it tomorrow, & I expect a 3 page written critique on my desk the following morning. Ha! Ha!
Love you guys. Keep up the great work. Cheers.
I was lucky enough to have been there that night.
One of the best experiences of my life.
I was in the second row from the stage.
sorrow is my favorite from the pulse concert
Guys, in case nobody has already stated, the founder of Pink Floyd was SYD BARRETT. He's the one who "invented" the Pink Floyd Sound back in 1965 (!!!).
I read and heard that David Gilmour is set to record new material for possible album. He has been staying low with his family the Pandemic making short videos with his family singing tunes.
