David, Richard, Nick and Friends did this track live in concert in Hamburg in 1989, it just came back to me after 30 years ! The power of music memory, heh ? I think you both know by now what I would like to hear from you guys from Queen, but also from Pink Floyd's last combined live concert in London, 2005, with all former members present. Watch it and get blown away ! Thanks again for your good work !😜

One of my favorite groups from a time where there were a lot of artists whose work will live on forever. Nothing compares with 60's and 70's music.

Yup. From about 1:37 to 2:30, they were motionless -- I had to look for eye blinks to make sure my WiFi hadn't stalled the video. Both reviewers were displaying what I think of as "the Pink Floyd face."
I'm a 67-yr-old bassist. Guy Pratt is the reason I have a fretless 5-string in my modest stable. Until "Pulse" came out, I'd always played it on a 4-string Fender. When I heard "Comfortably Numb" from "Pulse" for the first time, I got goosebumps from the opening Bm chord.
I got to see Guy speak at a bassists' forum. He tells the story of bugging Gilmour to sell Pratt a 1962 Jazz Bass, the model with the stacked volume & tone pots, for as much as (while admittedly kinda hammered) $50,000.
Gilmour kept turning him down, but apparently remembered Pratt's wish. When Pratt married Gilmour's daughter, that became a wedding gift, accompanied by a "Welcome to the family."

Pink Floyd takes you to another dimension!!!! I absolutely love how they have embraced technology and evolved. If you listen to some of their first and early obscure albums, you would not believe it is the same group. Definitely on my top favorites list along with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath.
I am 65 years old now but grew up in a very poor working class neighborhood. I can remember listening to music as a young person with good friends being something affordable and swapping albums of the time to enjoy.
I still can geek out for hours with this pleasure.

The Pulse DVD did not have "Poles Apart" on it. I think. ?? That is an overlooked song for sure.

Saw them at Oakland in '93 on this tour. Best visuals and audio at a concert I ever experienced, and I attended a lot. They had speaker stacks set in back and the sides on the upper deck for surround sound as well. It was a concert beyond all others.
Keep in mind that the live show didn't quite look like the video. The visuals were much clearer. All that colored spotlight glare obscuring the stage was only captured by the cameras. We didn't see that in person. Everything going on stage was visible at all times.
For most of the show I wondered was under that huge rectangular structure in the middle/back of the field covered in dark canvas. It want until the encores that we found it was that giant mirror ball. I was distracted and didn't see them uncover and raise it up during Comfortably Numb.
    Best concert ever.

Excellent video! The looks on your faces during the intro were great! It's apparent that you found the Pink Floyd performance compelling and were hooked right away, almost hypnotized... as are we all when we watch Pink Floyd!

I'm a wrinkly and saw Floyd in 1973.
40 odd years later I'm still a total floyd nut .
Too me they are the only unique rock band ever and you are so right it was the package not the individual performance that made floyd brilliant.
Not jumping around on stage they took you on a emotional journey even lost my virginity with wish your were here as background music.

Andy - you are correct. Guy Pratt used to be married to the daughter of the late, great Richard Wright. He has played as a session musician with a wide range of artists on a lot of songs over the years. He got his start with PF when they asked him to tour with them on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour in '87. While the Pulse version of Run Like Hell is Fantastic, I personally like the Delicate Sound of Thunder version slightly better (audio).

Regarding Floyd's deliberate anonymity, they were the only supergroup rock band in the 60's and 70's that were able to walk around London visiting pubs/clubs/restaurants etc. where nobody would recognise who they were. They considered that a huge advantage to their private lives of course. It all changed in later years mainly following the DSOTM release when questions were being asked by the press/public as to who the band actually were. What did they look like? After DSOTM, they could no longer hide who they were. This of course relates to their deliberate hiding on stage behind all the spectacular sets and light shows.

The first three sides of the album were written before the film and then side 4 was written. That is why it is so easy to imagine it as a part of a film.

Alot to say here. As someone who actually saw them on this tour, let me tell you this was One of 2 or 3 concerts in my lifetime that if I could travel back in time, I would go back to that night at the Rose Bowl for this tour. The Lasers for this tour were a variation of the Lasers the Defense department was developing for the U.S.'s Strategic Defense Initiative(S.D.I. code named the STAR WARS Project)during the late 1980's. What no one gets from this video(especially since this is an indoor venue) is how far reaching these lasers were and how far they went into the night sky. On every night of the tour, Air Traffic had to be diverted for a few hours, so that they could put on this show. If you were sitting on the side of the Bowl of said Stadium these lasers would reach the entire length of the stadium and dissipate into the clouds. The sound system was their Quadrophonic sound that bounced sound around the whole stadium(when they played Money you could trace the cash register effects circling around the whole bowl..it was mesmerizing). Pink Floyd also had a Blimp for this tour, which they used to do promotion for the concert in the cities they were playing. On one or two of those nights the blimp hovered over the stadium while pink floyd played. I have to disagree with Andy on rating this song, in terms of honoring this song its a 9.5..Without Roger Waters screams, his wit, his gritty almost in your face fight that makes this song anthemic, and the back in forth vocals between Roger and Dave, it can't be a 10. Just looking back to this song when they played it live on the Wall tour with the Floating Pig, the surrogate band that played along side them with life like masks of every band member, and all the staging and props they used on the Wall tour makes that version a better live, even if the film stock and lighting wasn't the best for recording purposes back then. Rogers more recent versions of this song pale in comparison to either their 1980 version or the Division Bell tours. Davids more recent live version of this song is on par with the Division Bell, just different in lighting. Davids version sounds more faithfull live and makes you feel more elated. Nice pick in video choices, if i could take you all back to 1994 to see this tour live i would do so in a heartbeat. Someone take me back to 1980 and take me with them to see the Wall live with all original Pink Floyd members. As for other Pulse songs, although not as popular as other songs High Hopes, Take it Back and Keep Talking are live songs i enjoyed from this tour. A good idea might be to couple ON THE RUN(its a short song) with TIME from PULSE. On the Run has one of the more spectacular moments in the whole show and couples well with Time. FYI... I have a something else Floyd related that I'll post on your Facebook page.

Those beautiful guitars that David Gilmour makes to sing are in the Christie's auction at the Rockefeller New York. You can visit the exhibition for free from the 14th June. Just need to reserve your time slot on 'David Gilmore guitar collection'. Would you believe i fly back to UK that day, but hope to squeeze it in. Andy, have you listened to Grantchester Meadows live yet from way back.
