I was there at Earls Court for 3 of the 12 nights of the Pulse concert, including the night they video recorded what you are watching. Yes, the concert was amazing.
At the last Pink Floyd event that I went to was the division bell tour in the early 90s about the same time as this. There were old folks like me there were hippies, young folks, children people in business suits it was truly an event. Everybody was happy. My pulse CD was still flashing after years and then I put a new battery in it and flashed for more years
2014, out there tour Paul McCartney, 2 sellout nights Tulsa Ok...same thing, 12 year olds , teens , mid lifers, and us old dudes...and every aisle, singing , dancing, remembering....same gift that David gave on this tour.
This was the 5th and final time I saw Floyd. Sat front row center in The Superdome in New Orleans for this. Nothing like it for Floyd fans everywhere… 🤘✨
I was at the one in Houston, Texas. A Blue Norther blew through and all heck broke loose. I can still see David standing there wailing on the guitar in a white T- shirt. Rain, lightening and thunder tearing the place up. They were playing this when the power went out it the stadium. A night to remember!!!!
To watch Pink Floyd in concert is another worldly experience. . One of my sons used to play Floyd so his plants would grow better.😊😉😉. One of those plants was named Vera.
Hi L33 - I watched an interview with Guy Pratt where he was talking about the audition/interview for becoming part of their live show when they started back up again, and then eventually the band....and the only thing David got him to do was sing his parts for this song... It's all he had to do.. he had to go back a second time to prove he can do it again...but that's how he got the gig. Oh yes.. I was at Earls Court for this show.... hehe.. All you could say about this experience was that you floated out of the hall saying to yourself "Okay, I am never going to see anything to top that".. and it's true., I haven't, Sorry L33, Keep on Rockig young sir.
I saw this very show in Toronto exactly 30 years ago (seems like only yesterday!!!), in the summer of 1994. It was absolutely mental!!! And at the end, the stage looked like it was on fire!!! What a way to end such an amazing concert!!! 🎆❤ Thrilled to know you will do movies, and hope you will be able to do "The Wall"!!! If not, try the 2014 documentary, it’s fabulous as well!!!
Nobody puts on a live Show like Floyd! This 1994 World Tour was "The Division Bell" World Tour, this show at Earls Court in London is called the Pulse Concert, it is one of the last shows of the tour. The tour ran from March to October, there were something like 110 shows, in over 60 cities in 17 countries. Do you know the story of the stage, or should I say the 3 identical stages that leapfrogged across North American? Floyd had the 3 stages built for this tour, not only 3 stages, but 3 of everything! The stages, sound systems, the rigs, the gear, the lighting etc., there was 3 of everything used in North America. Because of the time involved in load in, and setup, (3 full days), and then tear down and load out, (2 and a half days), they absolutely needed 3 of everything to perform all of the shows that were booked in North America. It was the largest Rock concert to that point in time 700 tons of steel, using 60 trailer trucks with a crew of like 120 people, it was a MASSIVE tour! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The Wall" album was released in 1979 and the American tour started in 1980. This was another massive Show, it was so massive logistically and economically that they performed only 12 Concerts in the US in 1980, 6 on the west and 6 on the east coast. I was fortunate enough to get tickets to one of the six Shows on the east coast, the venue for these Shows was The Nassau Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale NY, on Long Island. "The Wall" concert was the most incredible, phenomenal Show/Concert/Play/Performance, I have ever witnessed in all my 68 years of life!
1994, Tampa, Fl. Best live show ever. I was 24, 53 now. So amazing ❤. Thanks for playing it From the first 2nd version of Pink Floyds jam. Saw them in 1988, at 18yrs old. Missed prom night. no regrets!!!
Chicago show row 25 floor to the left 3 hits of window pain acid. My mind is still blown. Musically the Animals tour 77 in Cleveland was the best show l've seen.
Wow! That was amazing and the light show was incredible! They looked like they were really enjoying themselves! Every clip I've seen from this tour has been fantastic! Boy I wish I had been to that show!!
EPIC! You should watch the re-mixed video/audio version, has a lot more shots of the band, especially at the end, the crazy drum fills are done by the percussionist.
I wasn’t there, but was at one in Manchester, Maine Rd, in 1988, the Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. It was quite similar and the encore was just as mind blowing!
I went and saw Pink Floyd's Momentary Lapse of Reason tour here in Australia in the late 80s. It was so good I bought tickets for another show in the same week. That show had flying pigs, a bed that flew over the crowd and they also finished with Run like Hell.
I was there!! Well, at least at the Alamodome in San Antonio on this Pulse tour in 1994. 18th row seats on the floor!!! Great to see your appreciation for this performance!!!!
This is the caliber of music I grew up with. And why a scoff at what passes as music now. And yes, I did trip at one of their concerts. Dark Side of the Moon specifically. Good old days indeed.
The story about the lights, for this tour, was that Gilmour told the lighting designers that they should spend whatever they want. Lighting and set were given total freedom to spend at will. It shows, and it WAS amazing.
The lights aren't affecting the people onstage. They are all behind and above, out front of them. It's something the audience can see, and it's the greatest stage lighting ever
"All those lights," Pink Floyd put on a wonderful laser and light show was just the music that traveled all over the US. Watching those with your laser glasses was truly ethereal.
What a show that was. I went to many concerts before and since the Division Bell tour, and nothing even came close. The sound was as clean as a $100,000 audiophile's home stereo. I was lucky to be living right behind TOWER RECORDS at the time where Ticketron or some other seller had a booth. The line was insane. The show sold out on me while I was still inline with 200 people in front of me, but I found a person walking out who bought extras tickets and who sold me three for $70 each. THANK YOU whomever you were. BTW, the stage did not glow like it did in the video. The lighting was much sharper. That effect is glare on the cameras that we did not see with our naked eyes.
Been to this Pulsr tour in Tempe AZ in Apr 1994. The whole concert lasted 3.5 hours. This energetic finale was meant to hopefully awake the stoners and help them get safely home. The tour was to promote the Division Bell album released on the same year.
I was 16 when I first heard PF on the underground FM station living with my folks in the SF Bay Area in 1968.. and I looked the same as you. We Floydies just get older but our respect and awe to have been a part of the PF 'LIVE' generation will never leave... Welcome to the best music ever made.
Pontiac Sliverdome, 1994. Floyd played Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety for the first time since 1975 (also done in Detroit). One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
I saw this tour in Chicago at Soldier Field. During the finale you fully expected the entire apparatus would either launch itself into space or implode in on itself in some spectacular Star Warsee fashion. The lights were so bright you could not look directly at the stage. The sound so loud folks were covering their ears with eyes that looked like saucers (Well, at least those that still had pupils left if you know what I mean). 🚬 The explosions, fireworks that went high into the night sky, a million decibels of surround sound amplified guitar greatness, and a little bit of thunder and lightning in the night sky to complete the package, and we're talking a sensory overload that actually took days if not weeks to fully recover from. Kinda on the order of PTSD... but a much happier form. The concert was on a weekday, I want to say Wednesday. No way was I going to make it into work the next morning. How do you go to sleep after that. P S the stage never did explode... can't say the same for the majority of the audience that was there that night. Blown away!! 🤯
There is a CD of Pink Floyd from 74 live doing “Dark Side Of The Moon” live in album order. I played it for a friend about a week ago, it was truly a great recording/performance!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! You’re a fan like me, Snoops! The way he moves to the music is fun to watch and the personality in his bass accents the song perfectly. His book sounds interesting!
I went to that tour a couple of times but truthfully I appreciate it more now than I did back in the day, I took Floyd's light side for granted but now realise just how special they were.
Hi Lee, I was at the show in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. It was the fourth time I'd seen Pink Floyd and out of the 100 or so gigs I've been to in the past 50 years, this still is the best "rock show" I've ever experienced. Keep up the good work, man.
L33 your boy Richard wright preferred The Band over The Beatles early on in the 60’s & 70’s. Him and Roger butted heads on that topic I imagine. Keep on keeping on L33! Phenomenal content as usual my friend!
I think I told you before that I saw this tour when I was living in Atlanta. The best concert I've ever seen. My friend described it best, she said "I'll never be able to explain this to anybody!"
I saw Pink Floyd only one time, but it was for this "Division Bell" tour when they came to the New Orleans Superdome in May of '94. So I saw most of this concert (just a different venue and 5 months earlier). However, they did not play the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" like they did for the Earls Court concert as seen in PULSE. I bought the 2-disc laserdisc release of PULSE when it was originally released to laserdisc and VHS the summer of 1995. Then the DVD when it was finally released 11 years later.
The very last time they were all together was on the live 8 charity 2005 where they did fan fav . I have seen them since the 70s and maybe the 60s on my brothers shoulders 67ish
Hi Roger played the Wall 1990 in Berlin. Fun Fact, he was asked in an Interview if he would perform The Wall again on a Stage and he said, if the Wall in Berlin comes down, he would perform The Wall again, more like a joke, at that Time nobody thought the Berlin Wall could ever be removed and that Germany could ever be united. But the Cold War ended and he did it. I was there ! That was one of the most important Day in my Life. Greetings from Germany. BTW i like your canal and your reactions.
The whole concert is incredible man , Please do a weekly reaction of it from start to finish a song a week. That would be amazing and well .. WELL worth your time and effort.
Thank you for doing this reaction, Lee! For sharing this beauty. It is comforting. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. They shower the viewers with LOVE, with WHITE LIGHT. Their smiles are wonderful to see. Guy Pratt really adds to the sound! I am always grateful to Marc Brickman for his light designs. Thanks again, Lee! I wish you could come out with more money on the videos.
Glad to hear you're gonna react to The Wreckin' Crew documentary. The 2 dvd set or blu-ray contain over 6 hours o' bonus material 'n it's all excellent. I see someone sent you Jethro Tull-Nothing Is Easy: Live At The Isle O' Wight dvd. Tull in 1970 was beyond compare...enjoy!
Dave is a perfect gentleman with that hard edge all geniuses must have. If you watch his interviews youll notice hes well aware of his talent above others. Which he is. Of course he and Roger clashed unsurprisingly.
Lee, ❤️Guy Pratt and the light display! Guy’s bass and vocals are wonderful! See him running at the end? 😀 The lighting designer, Marc Brickman is the mind behind this complete Burst of LOVE! 💫
The dynamic that Guy brings to Floyd is amazing! I have read his book and used to listen to his radio show. He would play Floyd of course! lol! Look up My Bass and Other Animals. Fantastic pick! Not sure if I will be home in time to catch the premiere.
@@SnoopySnoops1 I am a Guy Pratt admirer, too. He helps shape the sound! I’ve enjoyed the videos on his channel where he talks about and demonstrates his licks from songs such as Gilmour’s What Do You Want From Me and Madonna’s Like A Prayer. I love his spirit.
I may have forgotten some concerts...but I will NEVER forget seeing this tour in Syracuse NY....and tapping on the shouder of the dude in front of me...."You see an enormas pig with laser eyes staring at you too, right?" Had to check..😂😂😂😂😂
Reported as the most lights used in one song at a concert, As you know, I caught 2 of the Earls Court gigs and they are still the gigs that all others are measured against. The show… so many sights and highlights, some of which you ain’t seen yet. ( but see them you will my friend) First night I was beautifully stoned, second night I knew what was coming so a little chemical help was used for a different perspective Just the best gigs ever. Great reaction as always bro 🤟
There was the original "The Wall" then there was "The Wall" in Berlin, when the Berlin Wall came down. There also was a Pink Floyd live recording of "The Wall." There was a live Roger Waters tour of "The Wall" and later a DVD of the tour came out. I can't remember if there was a CD release of "The Wall" when the Bob Geldoff movie came out. The Pink Floyd live recording of "The Wall" is fantastic!
8:05 "Imagine being on that stage" David Gilmour has said that he finds it said that he never got to listen to Dark Side Of The Moon for the first time. He helped create it but never got to listen to it without knowing it. He also said that he found it sad that he never got to see Pink Floyd live as an audience member. He thinks it would be amazing.
I saw this tour in Werchter, Belgium in 1994. Still have the ticket. I'm looking forward to seeing David again in Rome next month. And if you need any more suggestions : Try David Gilmour, Fat Old Sun, live in Gdansk.
The album The Wall was released in 1979. The movie was 1982. That was my first Pink Floyd concert. It was amazing. Then in 2010 I saw Roger Waters perform the wall which in many ways I enjoyed more. Maybe I was older, or maybe I wasn’t under the influence of whatever. Saw Pink Floyd several times in between. They are just amazing.
Every guitar wants a Dave Gilmour and every organ wanted a Richard Wright for Xmas. RIP Richard you absolute genius. Gilmours wife said that offstage David is very reserved and a bit awkward with people but when he had a guitar in his hands he was a different person.
I must have missed this in the Pulse show, 'cause I'm sure I would have remembered it. On my favs from The Wall. Lighting designer Brickman also did work for McCartney's tours. He must be a high paid talent. Talking Heads should have covered this; they like to run in place on stage so much.
I was there at Earls Court for 3 of the 12 nights of the Pulse concert, including the night they video recorded what you are watching.
Yes, the concert was amazing.
Down to earth, every single one of them.

@@TheFremenBlue I love calling it an eternal flame. Pink Floyd deserves that and definitely Pulse does.

Love how at the end the lighting folks were like "hit em with everything!"
I hate the lights so much. I can see how many people would love them, but they are too painful and violently assault my eyes.

It is the same with the grand finale at a fireworks show. Save the everything for the end.
Bring back the creative artists and professional musicians.

Pink Floyd's light show at this time set a standard that will unlikely be duplicated. How fortunate we were to be in the audience then.
You got that right. To think this was 1994 and not 2024
Saw this concert May 22 1994 at the Olympic Stadium (AKA the Big O) in Montreal. It was amazing...

I was lucky enough to have seen (post-Roger) Floyd perform twice. Insane.
Lee, ❤️Guy Pratt and the light display! Guy’s bass and vocals are wonderful! See him running at the end? 😀
The lighting designer, Marc Brickman is the mind behind this complete Burst of LOVE!
Run Like Hell was the closer before the totally amazing 2-songs of the encore, which was Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb
I may have forgotten some concerts...but I will NEVER forget seeing this tour in Syracuse NY....and tapping on the shouder of the dude in front of me...."You see an enormas pig with laser eyes staring at you too, right?" Had to check..😂😂😂😂😂
Reported as the most lights used in one song at a concert,
As you know, I caught 2 of the Earls Court gigs and they are still the gigs that all others are measured against.
The show… so many sights and highlights, some of which you ain’t seen yet. ( but see them you will my friend)
First night I was beautifully stoned, second night I knew what was coming so a little chemical help was used for a different perspective
Just the best gigs ever.
Great reaction as always bro 🤟
Amazing performance
You Rock dude..
Effin david plays with such ease🤘❤️
very very down to earth David is
Classic ❤
1994 Carter Finley stadium, greatest concert ever
Nice
What is that lighting worth, how many millions, OMG!!!
8:05 "Imagine being on that stage"
David Gilmour has said that he finds it said that he never got to listen to Dark Side Of The Moon for the first time.
Anything Floyd and the light show is great
Oh yeah , that’s it !!
The Wall was released 30/11/79 as a vinyl album, the film came obviously after that, Roger has done a few gigs over time, Pulse was 1994
The album The Wall was released in 1979.
You CAN'T do ANY serious ROCK movies until you've done
"This is Spinal Tap" after that ALL will be clear😂😂😂
L33 I was there , everyone was fine
I was at one of them. They sold out that massive venue for 18 nights.
Quite the live show!
I must have missed this in the Pulse show, 'cause I'm sure I would have remembered it. On my favs from The Wall. Lighting designer Brickman also did work for McCartney's tours. He must be a high paid talent. Talking Heads should have covered this; they like to run in place on stage so much.
I saw this tour in Pasadena CA!
We did acid, but it was bunk ;P
