Steel guitar or Table guitar...there is an acoustic-like setup as well called the lap guitar. High Hopes from the Pulse concert is an excellent example of David playing. The best I have ever seen play the steel guitar is David Lindley as he toured with Jackson Browne. This video was from the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour, the tour before Pulse, and the first tour after settling all the court battles with Roger Waters.

My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets. I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the DVD of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.

The tour was a series of 3 tours, starting with the ‘ Momentary Lapse Tour’, which commenced on September 9, 1987, to December 12, 1987. Then, on January 22, 1988, they began the ‘World Tour’ on August 23, 1988. They picked up their instruments again on May 13, 1989, when they kicked off the ‘Another Lapse’ part of the trilogy. The final date of these tours was July 18, 1989.

The Lap steel... But the original name is Hawaiian Guitar since it is its origin... first being acoustic guitars with metal strings and then moving on to electric guitars... the notes are played with metal or glass cylinders... it is generally used in Hawaiian music, blues and country... but Gilmore achieves a sound and melodies that tear and excite.

Good one! This was from their "Momentary Lapse Of Reason" album after Roger Waters left the band. I always thought that was a really cool title.
I did this recently, maybe after you recorded this, but "anthem" is pronounced like Anne - thumb. Like the woman's name, like Anne Boleyn, and thumb like the short opossable finger on your hand.
    Hope you're feeling better!!!

They were great no matter what tour you saw them at, masters of the studio or the stage, nice performance to say the least. Amazing ensemble making for the gigantic sound they produce, every song is a masterpiece but also different. Also from that tour, do Dogs Of War, another banger of a tune that is always relevant. Enjoy! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶🔥

This recording from 1988 (David has hair) is from the DVD compiled from 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour' as Delicate Sound of Thunder.... 'Pulse' wasn't a single concert... it was compiled from shows during The Division Bell Tour.... I saw that show in Pittsburgh, Pa.
