In 1981, Idol went solo, starting a very successful career alongside guitarist Steve Stevens. His solo style changed towards hard rock with hints of A.O.R.
Billy Idol was that bad boy look of a metal band typical rocker. Everybody loved Billy in the 80's. I wanted to look like him. Now I'm 60 and gave me a kind of nostalgia. "Les Yeux sans visage" is a french horror novel about a crazed doctor that basically murders women and takes off their face to graft on to his daughters face, but it only lasts a few days, so he has to keep it up ... I guess it inspired Billy to make a nice little sick ballad about missing his girlfriend ...

Great reaction to this epic masterpiece 80s rock ballad Biss...Billy is best known for being heavy punk rocker (this song was a lot slower than most of his other songs but in a way sets it apart from his usual repertoire...which is why myself and other fans of Billy appreciate this song so much - because it is so different....but to each their own). Billy Idol was a bad boy for girls watching MTV in the 80s lol He was super popular. Most of his songs are more hard pop/rock but some are slower like this one and Sweet 16. But in general, his thing was hard rock sexy time music- Hot in the city, Rebel Yell, To Be a Lover, Cradle of Love, Don't need a gun, White wedding, Dancing with myself, Speed...etc. He started in a punk band in mid 70s A lot of kids from London in that era that followed Sex Pistols became famous musicians in the 80s and they all knew each other before becoming famous- Billy Idol, Adam Ant, Siouxsie...He still sounds great live, and dude is pushing 70.
Whichever follower suggested this as your first Billy Idol song to check out needs to give their head a shake. It’s a decent song, but as soon as I saw you were doing this as your first reaction, I immediately worried you would not be interested in delving deeper into his catalog. The others here are bang on - Rebel Yell, White Wedding, Mony Mony, Cradle of Love - all much more representative of Mr. Idol’s distinct blend of punk, pop, and metal influences. Your bad boy desires will be completely fulfilled, we promise. 😅
I was little when I heard this song, how time goes by, I feel like an old man of 41, but for me the music of the late 70s and the 80s are the best groups and songs. Greetings, good video as always, greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾 😊❤
This is my favorite Billy song. It shows his range from the Rebel Yell White Wedding style. The name of the song was taken from a horror film from the 60s in which a man kills young ladies and takes their faces to give to his wife because she’s deformed. Billy can still kill it today!
If you're looking for some "bad boy" vibes, check out Generation X, the band he was in in his earlier days in music. One of the archetypal British punk bands from the late 70s
Your "Bad Boy Meter" was working. This is a softer, more of a ballad side to Billy Idol (Eye-Dol). Billy Idol was fascinated with the titles of horror films, including the 1960 French film "Les Yeux sans visage" (Eyes Without a Face). The movie concerns a plastic surgeon who vowed to restore the face of his daughter who had been disfigured in a car accident. This quest led him to murder victims and graft their facial features onto his daughter in an attempt to restore her beauty. By the end, all that remained of her original face was her eyes, thus making her "eyes without a face". Idol saw some parallel between the movie and the moral decay of a relationship going wrong that he experienced living in New York in the 1980s.
I knew you'd like Billy Idol (Idol is pronounced like "I doll" by the way 🙂). Here are some other songs I know you will love: White Wedding (part 1), Rebel Yell, Catch My Fall, Dancing With Myself, Mony Mony, Hot In The City.

As a founder member of "Generation X" .... one of the original Punk Rock bands in the 1970's ... Billy is most definitely a "bad boy" !!!!!!
Billy idol's a legend.🔥🔥🎸💪.. Check out more.. Rebel Yell next
He is
thank you for this. simple and easy
Thank you
Whichever follower suggested this as your first Billy Idol song to check out needs to give their head a shake.
Still think it's one of his best songs. (Mayby nostalgia)
Amazing song, and that guitar part is a KILLER!
I was little when I heard this song, how time goes by, I feel like an old man of 41, but for me the music of the late 70s and the 80s are the best groups and songs. Greetings, good video as always, greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾 😊❤
He is one of the most iconic 80s punk rock-pop He survived everything and he is still playing. He has some anthems you should check.
the best
This is my favorite Billy song. It shows his range from the Rebel Yell White Wedding style. The name of the song was taken from a horror film from the 60s in which a man kills young ladies and takes their faces to give to his wife because she’s deformed. Billy can still kill it today!
Really enjoyed it
Yeyy
If you want to hear one from him with this same "don't judge a book" concept listen to "Sweet Sixteen" by him.
early eighties zeitgeist in one song ! I dont like getting old but i do thank god i was a teenager in the 80's !
Billy Idol, damn it brings back memories especially when MTV was MTV! The early 80s everybody started to get cable TV 😂😂😂
Go that road Biss, you'll like it for sure.
Thank you
rebel yell is bad boy - I think it is right up your alley
I'm putting it on the list right now
@@BisscuteReacts thank you - i look forward to it - love your reactions - you have become my favorite reactor😍
the offical video is the best
You and Millie are two of my favorite. And both of y'all have the hots for billy
"White Wedding" and "Mony Mony" are two other great songs of his. And yes, this song was iconic. Massive hit back in the day.
mony mony was a cover but yes Billy does it very well.
Legendary Billy Idol, the album was theme song for the mid 80s, great complete album
Old school Punk... is what he was... then became a pure rock and roller.
If you're looking for some "bad boy" vibes, check out Generation X, the band he was in in his earlier days in music. One of the archetypal British punk bands from the late 70s
Billy Idols music is all over the map. He does sing like this, yes, but he also sings bad boy songs (your own words) 😆
I ❤ Billy Idol's face
It's quite cute that you picked up that he was going for the bad boy with the lip thing.
Rebel Yell and Dancin With Myself are must listens.
I recommend "Rebel Yell" original video but I'm afraid you'll become obsessed if you watch him and the band
rock out.
Thanks will add on the list right now
Your "Bad Boy Meter" was working.
Thanks!
I recommend the song "Mony Mony" Billy Idol, contrasts with this song, Mony Mony is a display of energy.
Thanks will add on the list right now
I knew you'd like Billy Idol (Idol is pronounced like "I doll" by the way 🙂). Here are some other songs I know you will love: White Wedding (part 1), Rebel Yell, Catch My Fall, Dancing With Myself, Mony Mony, Hot In The City.
Eyes without a face was also a title of a popular book and movie once upon a time. Also.... REBEL YELL!!!!
This song showed just how good a singer he is but I can't wait for you to hear the rest of his catalogue.
He's amazing
Billy Idol was still in fantastic physical shape last time I saw him. He has done great songs with guitarist Steve Steven’s. Flesh for Fantasy is one of his great songs😊.
wow
