I had a short conversation with Mr Idol at a airport where the flight was delayed to Yugoslavia , he had a acoustic guitar and sang a couple of songs for some kids who were there , very nice guy . Formally he was in a punk band called Generation X who had a few songs
That was when he headed to Vegas with Adam Sandler, trying to save Drew Barrymore. That is really cool that you were able to meet him. I've heard that he is pretty cool.
Cradle of Love with official video. Billy had broken his leg in a motorcycle accident but they found a creative way to show him in the video. He had a full leg cast.
Me too brother bought his greatest hits for this song don't get me wrong I like his other stuff this song wasn't overplayed like the others were plus its a nice dance song with a girl win win lol😊
This song "Eyes Without a Face" by Billy Idol is a reference to the French horror film "Les Yeux sans visage" (1960). That title in French occurs in the lyrics of the song. The film is about a woman whose face was injured in an automobile accident and her father, a surgeon, who's trying to restore his daughter's face. Also, Billy Idol was one of those iconic voices from the '80s.
Yes the girls singing "Les yeux sans visage" directly translates to "Eyes without a face." Also the part where his lips are moving but there are no vocals. "During the second chorus, you can see his lips moving with no vocals (4:40). He’s actually mouthing "I'm all out of hope, one more bad dream could bring a fall." This section was muted intentionally in the final cut, enhancing the eerie, detached vibe of the music video. It’s a stylistic choice, adding to the haunting atmosphere by letting the visuals carry some of the emotion without the usual vocal anchor, leaving the impression of something "missing" that aligns with the song's theme of alienation and disconnection."
Billy Idol has so many good songs - I’d still recommend the music videos for To Be A Lover, Cradle Of Love and Shock To The System but also some of his lesser known songs like Blue Highway, Flesh For Fantasy or something newer like Running From The Ghost
I saw Billy Idol earlier this year and he is still awesome. His voice held in there very well and very entertaining show. He can't move like he used to...likely because of aging and lots of residual aches and pains from his motorcycle accident which almost killed him. Great show. As for his musical style he remarked during the show that he really likes soul and R&B and that's what he likes best. So while he was a rocker, his influences were mostly soul and R&B.
This famous song with contrasting sounds by Billy Idol, at the time the idol of all young girls, allowed us to see your expression of surprise and joy with your wonderful smile. 🌺
I'm so glad that you reacted to this, Aileen, Billy is very talented. Other tracks I recommend you to react to by him are: "Flesh For Fantasy", "Hot in the City", "Cradle of Love", "Mony Mony", "Catch My Fall", "Shock To the System", "Wasteland", "Concrete Kingdom", "Dancing with Myself". There are also many great songs which he did before going solo with the band, 'Generation X' one of the earliest Punk Rock bands in the U.K. but I think that you should tackle those tracks separately.
[Billy Idol:] I'm all out of hope One more bad dream Could bring a fall When I'm far from home Don't call me on the phone To tell me you're alone It's easy to deceive It's easy to tease But hard to get release [Billy Idol (Perri Lister):] (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face Got no human grace You're eyes without a face [Billy Idol:] I spend so much time Believing all the lies To keep the dream alive Now it makes me sad It makes me mad at truth For loving what was you [Billy Idol (Perri Lister):] (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face Got no human grace You're eyes without a face [Billy Idol:] When you hear the music, you make a dip Into someone else's pocket then make a slip Steal a car and go to Las Vegas Oh, the gigolo pool Hanging out by the state line Turning holy water into wine Drinking it down, oh I'm on a bus on a psychedelic trip Reading murder books, trying to stay hip I'm thinking of you and you're out there, so Say your prayers Say your prayers Say your prayers Now I close my eyes And I wonder why I don't despise Now all I can do Is love what was once So alive and new But it's gone from your eyes I'd better realise [Billy Idol (Perri Lister):] (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) Eyes without a face Got no human grace You're eyes without a face Such a human waste You're eyes without a face [Billy Idol:] And now it's getting worse
I've liked this song since I was a kid, but it wasn't until recently watching RUclips music reactors that I found out what the female backup singers were saying: Les Yeux Sans Visage which is Eyes Without A Face in French!
May I request you go down the Cult rabbit hole? "Fire Woman" and "Sanctuary" would be a good intro. IMO Billy Duffy is the most overlooked guitarist in rock.
This is up there among my all time faves. The bass, the atmosphere -- it gets me every single time. One particular live version is pretty incredible as well. Shows off more of Steve Stevens's abilities.
The lyrics in the slow parts are emotionally devastating when considered. The fast part is just a fun interlude but those verses in the slow part wreck my heart
Billy is a Great Musician. His first band Generation X from the late 1970s thru 1980s was Great with songs like King Rocker (1979) Your Generation (1978) Kiss Me Deadly (1978) also re-done by Lita Ford Ready Steady Go (1978) and more
Dude had it all, good looks, swag, a great voice... A true Icon, I've also heard he's a nice guy many many times, he also has a cameo in on of my favorite cheesy movies of all time "Back to the Beach" with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funichello, a duo well known for beach party type movies in the 60s
Billy Idol has some gems , he was always a bit under the radar compared to other acts around in the 80's. incredible dance floor vibes, roller-skate vibes.
Man, this takes me back... Mad Max meets David Bowie in The Labyrinth, smashed together by Billy in an instant Hit. Hmm, maybe you could try out Musical/Movie react? Either way, you should give The Labyrinth a watch, i bet you'd love it.
Love this song. To me another signature song of the Eighties. I took me a long time to realize that the female background singers were actually singing the song title in French (les yeux sans visage) in the chorus. 😊
To hear this for the first time on headphones, watching the video, while in your den is quite a different experience than being in your car on a winding, desolate road with the windows down, the warm evening breeze blowing in, and a crescent moon peeking out from behind ominous clouds. There are many ways to experience music; seek out the ways that will stick with you.
Criminally overlooked song, one of his biggest hits and somehow.. forgotten. It is still one of my favorite Billy Idol songs, such a journey of musical storytelling. And ofc, a ballad with a darker twist to it, what's not to love about this song ;)
This is my favorite song from Billy Idol. Here is some background information with and explanation summary: Billy Idol was fascinated with the titles of horror films, including the 1960 French film "Les Yeux sans visage" (Eyes Without a Face). The movie concerns a plastic surgeon who vowed to restore the face of his daughter who had been disfigured in a car accident. This quest led him to murder victims and graft their facial features onto his daughter in an attempt to restore her beauty. By the end, all that remained of her original face was her eyes, thus making her "eyes without a face". Idol saw some parallel between the movie and the moral decay of a relationship going wrong that he experienced living in New York in the 1980s.
I've always loved this song, and the bassline is beautiful! I only learned in recent years that the song is supposedly about losing a loved one to addiction.
Perhaps my favorite Idol song!! I have been waiting for your reaction and it was so lovely. I adore you Hun!! Happy Halloween mi Hermosa!!! Much spooky love for you!! 🌹🌹🎃🎃🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Saw Billy in Cameron Indoor at Duke U. Was the Rebel Yell tour. Open seating, I had blast, Hella nice guy...met him in the green room, was call green for a reason. Seen lots of artists, but this guy was just like us. Keep rocking Billy! Lip snarl forever!
Great song - loved the 80s (early eighties, anyway), apparently Billy got some type of retina damage from video shoot with all the fire invovled. And yes - Cradle of Love is a must see/listen reaction!!
Back in the day, in high school. I saw Billy Idol in concert, 1984. This was three years after MTV started and Billy Idol was one of the biggest names appearing on MTV. That was a long time ago, but I remember it was a really good show.
I love your reaction & your expressions on your face when you reviewed this music video. These reactions are definitely will be considered a "classic" in your career so far.
That was the beauty of 80’s rock ballads. They somehow always hit us with an iconic 80’s sound rock bridge. I suggest In The Still of the Night by Whitesnake who also perfected this unexpected change up right in the middle of the song. You won’t be disappointed ❤
Had probably the coolest encounter of my life with Mr Idol and Adam Ant, both of whom, after a show in, of all places, Louisiana, strolled into the Denny's where myself and crew were sitting at the 'big table.' I saw them coming and involuntarily reached out and grabbed the arm of my friend. She looked at me looking, then turned her head and freaked. As they entered, they looked around and, well, we did have the biggest table... so I waved them over! Billy smiled and sauntered over like only he can and well, the rest of the night was incredible. Two of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. Of course, this was when dinosaurs ruled the planet and so there were no cells and no selfies, but who cares? That night is seared into my brain! Love your reactions. I could watch you talk for hours. Any chance you do adult bedtime story audio? :D Stay safe!
Always loved Billy Idol's music. He was massively popular, had a lot of upbeat high energy songs and a few ballads. All good FUN in my opinion. Loved the 80s and all the dance clubs/bars! One of my favs. Absolutely loved your reaction Aileen!
Check out Cradle of Love video... it was drirected by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, The Social Network, etc). Billy had a really bad motorcycle accident and nearly lost his leg, so he appears more in the background of the video... but the story in the video is fun and sexy.
I've been a huge Billy Idol fan since first hearing him back in the '80s. Billy's the man! I DJ'd for a spell in '87 while going to college, at a club that catered more to the city's older, upper-crust crowd, if you know what I mean. They were always so reserved, hesitant to be the first folks on the dance floor. I'd use this song to lure them out, nice and slow opening. But then, once they were on the floor the song would kick things up a bit. Too late to back out in the middle of a song, they'd have to start shaking ass. And since they were already out there, why not play a few bangers and keep those drunken devils flopping around. Thanks, Billy! Aileen, you're the best. For your Billy Idol journey, "MONY MONY (Live/1987)" ruclips.net/video/sYYAv-QW38Q/видео.html is an absolute must. Take it from a fan, I'd never steer you wrong. Love and hugs!!!
If you read the lyrics, this song has a lot of reflection into failed relationships and his infidelities while on tour. I have followed him since he was in the group Gen X. He has had a rollercoaster of a life with relationships and drugs. He still looks great at almost 70 years old. He did a great duet with Miley Cyrus singing Rebel Yell at some awards show or festival.
Thank U, Aileen Sister Senpai, for this wonderful first time reaction. Be Well / Beauty Way ❤😂🎉😂❤ ...you might dig "Flesh for Fantasy", the 3rd of 4 singles from this album I enjoyed it, b.i.t.d., and then went to University and had a friend of a roommate who liked to dance on the tables when we went out clubbin' to "Money-Money" ("hey ever-body get effed get laid") ...i was too much a fan of the Bard to go too willingly into THAT cockney'd poetry, but after a while, i relaxed and got it. Bob was from Boston, and could drink like it was an olympic sport. This one song, though, . . . it was like the letter opener to his party envelope, ev'ry time. ...and once Bob started dancing on the tables, . . . well, the rest of us (males and females alike) went with him, . . . to some degree or other. [smiles] TMI, I'm sure, . . . but try out "Flesh for Fantasy" or "Catch My Fall' ...if you'd like 🎉😂❤😂🎉
I had a short conversation with Mr Idol at a airport where the flight was delayed to Yugoslavia , he had a acoustic guitar and sang a couple of songs for some kids who were there , very nice guy . Formally he was in a punk band called Generation X who had a few songs

nice story :) i' from ex Yugoslavia :)
@@Zlatkohmmm it was yugoslavia when i went lol
Julia Gulia was on that flight❤️
@ that it was Julia Gulia. (Thanks Wedding singer, I can never meet a person named Julia, without repeating - Julia Gulia)!!!!
Dancing with myself is another signature Idol with a great bass groove
Yes!! Must show to Aileen. Hypnotic.
Cradle of Love with official video. Billy had broken his leg in a motorcycle accident but they found a creative way to show him in the video. He had a full leg cast.
In my opinion this is his best song
naah ..Flesh for Fantasy
Agreed
Flesh for Fantasy
Agreed!
Me too brother bought his greatest hits for this song don't get me wrong I like his other stuff this song wasn't overplayed like the others were plus its a nice dance song with a girl win win lol😊
Very 80's. We had the best music growing up.
Flesh for Fantasy is another one of Idol's songs to be check out. The 80s were the best!
A great one.
"Eyes Without a Face" is still my favorite Idol tune.

He did an interview for this song and he said he wrote it in the perspective of a psycho killer😂
That guitar solo comes out of nowhere and is fantastic.
Now this is a banger. This shows his versatility.
Cradle Of Love ✌️
For sure...! as a teenage boy when the video cam out.... We LIKED it...!
I agree, I like a lot of Billy Idol but I absolutely love this one
Agreed, The music video is an absolute classic
Banger. Needs more radio play today
This song grows every time you listen to it👌🏻
Yes! everyone sleeps on this song and it is absolutely a masterpiece!
Billy Idol has so many good songs - I’d still recommend the music videos for To Be A Lover, Cradle Of Love and Shock To The System but also some of his lesser known songs like Blue Highway, Flesh For Fantasy or something newer like Running From The Ghost
Flesh For Fantasy is amazing!
Don't Need a Gun too.

Classic Billy Idol! Listen to Cradle of Love! Great reaction Aileen thanks for sharing!❤️💛
Great reaction Aileen…great song by Billy, now give “Mony Mony” & his cover of “LA Woman” a listen (oh, & “Cradle of Love “)! 🔥🤘😎🔥
This song and "Dancing With Myself" are my fav Idol songs... they weren't necessarily the most popular but IMO they're the most fun.
Now you need to react to the live version of his song “Mony Mony”. I promise that you’ll love it
Love Steve Stevens. Great guitar player.
My favorite song of his. I never get tired of hearing this song. Happy Halloween.
Gotta love the reaction when the beat drops in!
Ooooh!❤😊
A different sounding Billy Idol song is Sweet Sixteen. Great song...also check out Catch My Fall.
My favorite Idol tune! Just love the way it sounds and the way he sings it! ❤
One of the best guitar breaks...we had the best music growing up..🔥🔥🔥🔥I literally get emotional hearing these classics 😅
His best song.
[Billy Idol:]
I'm all out of hope
One more bad dream
Could bring a fall
When I'm far from home
Don't call me on the phone
To tell me you're alone
It's easy to deceive
It's easy to tease
But hard to get release
[Billy Idol (Perri Lister):]
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
Got no human grace
You're eyes without a face
[Billy Idol:]
I spend so much time
Believing all the lies
To keep the dream alive
Now it makes me sad
It makes me mad at truth
For loving what was you
[Billy Idol (Perri Lister):]
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
Got no human grace
You're eyes without a face
[Billy Idol:]
When you hear the music, you make a dip
Into someone else's pocket then make a slip
Steal a car and go to Las Vegas
Oh, the gigolo pool
Hanging out by the state line
Turning holy water into wine
Drinking it down, oh
I'm on a bus on a psychedelic trip
Reading murder books, trying to stay hip
I'm thinking of you and you're out there, so
Say your prayers
Say your prayers
Say your prayers
Now I close my eyes
And I wonder why
I don't despise
Now all I can do
Is love what was once
So alive and new
But it's gone from your eyes
I'd better realise
[Billy Idol (Perri Lister):]
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
(Les yeux sans visage)
Eyes without a face
Got no human grace
You're eyes without a face
Such a human waste
You're eyes without a face
[Billy Idol:]
And now it's getting worse
Billy Idol is awesome.
My favorite song by Billy
One of the best lip-curls in the business.
Yes, the bass line throughout this song is ridiculous. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've liked this song since I was a kid, but it wasn't until recently watching RUclips music reactors that I found out what the female backup singers were saying: Les Yeux Sans Visage which is Eyes Without A Face in French!
It took you that long?? ;--p
I looked it up about 20 years ago, song came out when I was 16.
@PaPaWizdom Just never thought about it. Funny thing is, I took 3 years of French in high school, although I only remember a few words
Probably Billy Idol's best song. Another one I love is "Don't Need a Gun". I think you'd really enjoy that one.
CRADLE OF LOVE
Time to react to Billy's Cradle of Love!
Thanks for reaction to! 👏
I love this song so much. I think you would also enjoy, "To Be a Lover." Another great power ballad.
1984 was the year that changed music. I was 14 and remember so many new artists and sounds coming out that we now consider classics.
Try "Rock the Cradle of Love" next!
Good tune, thanks for playing Aileen, ❤
My favorite Billy Idol jam.
I think Billy would LOVE you! You may like his track "Blue Highway"
The lyrics in the slow parts are emotionally devastating when considered. The fast part is just a fun interlude but those verses in the slow part wreck my heart
You got me giggling, Aileen. Love your reactions; intelligent insight and brilliant humor. 100% 10/10
Fully agree

Aileen Senpai... Billy Idol is awesome... Gotta react to the Original Mtv video of Cradle of Love...❤❤❤❤
Billy Idol has some gems , he was always a bit under the radar compared to other acts around in the 80's. incredible dance floor vibes, roller-skate vibes.
this was a big one on mtv back in the day... great song
And there's another one down. you're getting there .
Cradle of Love!
This is my favorite Billy Idol song, I love that bass too. It's just a real nice chill groove.
Absolutely the best song Billie idol ever made huge when he released us in the 80s
Criminally overlooked song, one of his biggest hits and somehow.. forgotten.
It is still one of my favorite Billy Idol songs, such a journey of musical storytelling.
And ofc, a ballad with a darker twist to it, what's not to love about this song ;)
Beautiful song ❤👍
Hands down, my favorite Billy Idol song.
The tied arm is referring to Billy Idol's drug addictions.

Was never a big Billy Idol fan but this song and White Wedding can't be denied... Love the reaction.
There you go baby 😂 rocken now ❤
Thank you for doing one of my faves by far, beautiful ❤ absolutely loved your reaction, sweetie 💕
Great song - loved the 80s (early eighties, anyway), apparently Billy got some type of retina damage from video shoot with all the fire invovled. And yes - Cradle of Love is a must see/listen reaction!!
Grew up in the 80's with his music but this his only song that I truly love. It's gorgeous.
How can you not think of this song when billy idol is mentioned ❤ such a great and catchy song 🤘
Always love your commentary! 😻 How can anyone not! 🎉
Great reaction as always Aileen, love the tush clapping! Cradle of Love or LA Woman should be next up! ❤

Cradle of Love!!!!!!!!!!!
From punk rocker to pop star. That's a tricky needle to thread successfully indeed...Happy Halloween! 🎃
One of the best ballads ever! Definitely dope!!
That was the beauty of 80’s rock ballads. They somehow always hit us with an iconic 80’s sound rock bridge. I suggest In The Still of the Night by Whitesnake who also perfected this unexpected change up right in the middle of the song. You won’t be disappointed ❤
Gotta give **THE CRADLE OF LOVE** or **DANCING WITH MYSELF** a try. Cheers!!!
He can throw you a curveball, and still make sure you know this is Billy Idol you’re listening to, without a doubt.
Had probably the coolest encounter of my life with Mr Idol and Adam Ant, both of whom, after a show in, of all places, Louisiana, strolled into the Denny's where myself and crew were sitting at the 'big table.'

Flash for fantasy is a amazing song from Billy

My favorite of His.

You’re incredible, keep it up 👍
You have to check out ( Cradle of love ) next
Check out Cradle of Love video... it was drirected by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, The Social Network, etc). Billy had a really bad motorcycle accident and nearly lost his leg, so he appears more in the background of the video... but the story in the video is fun and sexy.
When you glanced and then stared into the cameras lens, I was struck with your beauty. Love you and your reactions. I love Billy Idol too !!
Flesh For Fantasy!

For your Billy Idol journey, "MONY MONY (Live/1987)" ruclips.net/video/sYYAv-QW38Q/видео.html is an absolute must. Take it from a fan, I'd never steer you wrong. Love and hugs!!!

Thank U, Aileen Sister Senpai, for this wonderful first time reaction.
Be Well / Beauty Way
❤😂🎉😂❤
...you might dig "Flesh for Fantasy", the 3rd of 4 singles from this album
I enjoyed it, b.i.t.d., and then went to University and had a friend of a roommate who liked to dance on the tables when we went out clubbin' to "Money-Money"
("hey ever-body get effed get laid")
...i was too much a fan of the Bard to go too willingly into THAT cockney'd poetry, but after a while, i relaxed and got it.
Bob was from Boston, and could drink like it was an olympic sport.
This one song, though, . . . it was like the letter opener to his party envelope, ev'ry time.
