My pen name is Cal Kasheau. Hey, I'd like to shamelessly promote my literary accomplishments while I have your attention. I have several short story titles you can get on Amazon; the links are below. Some are humorous, some reflect events in my life, and some are legends I heard of as a child in the swamps of Louisiana. They are only a dollar or two, and most are free with Kindle unlimited membership. I hope you will take the time to read one or two and give me your honest opinion in the comments on whether or not I should continue to pursue a side gig as an author.

I do washer and dryer repair for a living for normal work and sidework. And I will say the fix, Clean, and flip business has been very good side money. Those old whirlpool direct drive styles are some of the best home machines ever. They are actually my best selling machines.
Mine too. But they are getting harder and harder to get. Thanks for watching!
Glad you did not get shocked when feeling for the lid switch especially with the damaged wires.
t least that is what I thought you were doing, feeling for the type that attaches at the left rear of washer.
Yeah, I do stupid stuff sometimes! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your video. It was great. I'm just a diy person for some things. I'm learning from you.
Well, I’m glad you’re getting something out of my videos. Thanks for watching!
Well, I’m glad you’re getting something from watching my videos. Thanks for watching!
thats always a great fix.. you can sell a new machine, haul offthe old one and fix it with minimal parts and then sell that one.. esp if you have a slow servicer call day or two to work on it where you arent wasting service hour l;abor to build up a used machine.. cool stuff love it!!
Very true! That happens more than one would expect too. Thanks for watching!
Beautifully done
Thank you!
painting it was the part i was waiting to see 😏
Haha! That clip was so boring! Thanks for watching!
Here's a link to the paint if you need it. amzn.to/4a0A6Et
Good job Chip
Thanks my friend!
Just picked up a Whirlpool direct drive washer and it makes a clicking bumping sound when spinning. It doesn't shake, just kind of click bump. I believe it is the spin gear. The one that comes with the neutral drain kit.
That’s great! Keep us informed on your restoration and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video!
Can you please let us know what type of paint you're using?
I would have liked to see that part as well.
Cheers!
🍺
Sure. Here is a link to it amzn.to/4a0A6Et. You can get it anywhere they sell spray cans too. Thanks for watching!
Enjoyed your video chip. How much did you end up getting for that nice direct drive?
I sell them for $225 plus the sales tax in this part of the country. I like to make friends, not money! Thanks for watching!
What is the purpose of the plastic piece and metal piece under the agitator and around the drive shaft?
I have two that do not have them.
They seem to agitate just fine.
Are they all supposed to have them?
I think this is the first time that I can remember these not having them.
Those have always been a mystery to me too. Machines seem to function just fine without them. I have been meaning to research that for a long time. Perhaps I’ll do that today if I have time. Thanks for watching!
If only I could get the parts for my whirlpool
Most parts are available online. Thanks for watching!
At about 38 minutes, did the dogs skip once?
If so, does that indicate the top part of agitator is wearing?
Yeah, they do skip there. I think once they loosen up they all begin to function better but the top piece does wear enough to cause slippage.
Thanks for your video. Enjoyed meeting Wally. He, where is a good place to buy parts that don't cost an arm, leg, and one's first male child?
I source my parts from many different places. I will shop around for the best deals. I use Repair Clinic, Marcone, Virginia Service Supply, Appliance Parts Pros, Appliance Parts 365, Parts Dr. and I use Amazon a lot because I get free shipping with them. It's always best to be registered as a business in your State and get your tax exemption for resellers that you can share with these companies to avoid sales tax due to it being collected when you resell it to your customers. It really adds up after awhile. I also use an American Express card that gives me 5% cash back on purchases that usually adds up anywhere from 60 to 120 dollars a month in cash back depending on how many parts I order. Thanks for watching!
Mr Knowles my whirlpool is leaking when it washes but will not spin out all the water what you think is wrong
I think one of your seals is leaking on the clutch causing it to slip. Thanks for watching!
Did you move? Love all your content!!!
Yes, Mr. Harper passed away in August and I moved to my shop in town in September. I'm glad you like my videos and thanks for watching them! If you search through the net I published in September-October you can see the move.
Fantastic upload. Could you please tell me where I may get that type of Spanner so I can remove the tub from my old Kitchenaid top load washer? Does one size fit all Whirlpool? I really liked this great upload. Cheers from S. CA Oh, I looked at HomeDepot and Harbor frieght, they dont show any of this type you are using.
Here is a link for that wrench: amzn.to/3uTatWk
@HarperandKnowles Oh, thank you for such a quick response. Where can I get a new drive block for KAWE 760W WH3 Kitchenaid.
In the past, I have left comments and requests for parts. In looking back on your channel it shows you replied but, the info was not there anymore. Just dots. Odd? I hope these links you have provided will stay up 'till I am ready to order. Again, much gratitude.

@HarperandKnowles G'day. Thank you again. If I come across a lot of rust and it is seized, what do you recommend using to loosen, to remove tub. Oh, if I find that it is leaking (small) on one of the shaft seals, is there some rubber type caulking to put over the seals?
Cheers❤
I wish yu people was living in Jamaica my pool machine is not spinning out and now not taking in water what can I do
It could be the clutch and the water inlet valve. Thanks for watching!
At about 26 minutes, the tub looks like it has more black than before you washed it.
What happened?
Makes me think of one U just had to clean a few days ago.
I spent t a few hours having to scrape whatever it was off.
It was so bad, I had to clear just about all the holes in the tub.
Never came across one like mine was.
Not sure what it was.
Now that I think about it, not sure if I scraped most of it off or got it off with drill and wire brush.
I think I s raped most of them finished with drill
I turned it upside down and you can’t see the light through the holes. At least I think that’s what you’re seeing. It’s the same tub.
I picked one up and it's really nasty, someone washed their dog blankets and there's hair sticking to the outer tub and inner tub plus dog hair inside the pump.
Awe, that’s just dog hair! It’ll clean up just fine. Thanks for watching!
@@HarperandKnowles welcome!
Bleach is why it rusted
Yeah. If they only made porcelain coated cabinet tops again that wouldn’t happen. Thanks for watching!
I loathe those dispensers!
Yeah, if you use them they will certainly rust. Thanks for watching!
The workmanship is no good
