If you are monkey branching, you didn't really love that other person. WHen you really love someone, you can't just switch over and love someone else. It takes years to get over someone you deeply love
For men it does, not so much for women.
it usually takes me a few months to get over someone and I got over my baby daddy but once I saw him and his rebound it actually hurt

“You can’t be present in your current relationship if you’re building a connection elsewhere”. It’s such a selfish and cruel thing to do to someone.
I used to monkey branch as a coping mechanism as a TEENAGER. They all cheated on me or blew up in some way. I learned as a teenager not to do this, but seeing grown men and women doing this is shocking that they’re so far behind in their healing journey it’s sad.

My ex never ended any relationship before he either started seeing someone new or at least started talking to someone else . We where together for 12 yrs . Have a 10 yr. old together and he walked out and with in less the a month started dating a woman with a 8 yr. old child . He is an alcoholic and never had time for our child's . He was never a dad to her because his alcoholism took up all his time. Yet, now he has time for not only another relationship but a another child that's not his . He walked out and away from our lives and all his responsibilities and moved in with his mother who's doing everything for him and putting up with his alcoholism. Covering for him while my daughter visits him and even on his visits does not spend any time with our daughter other than to eat dinner and then he's out and my mother-in-law's garage hiding talking on the phone getting drunk.
Monkey branching is the worst!! Lowest of the low!! If you live someone, be truthful. It's gonna hurt but you won't feel guilty about the breakup.
My ex of three years monkey branched and I found out about her less than a month after the break up because he published a love song about her. I thought it was about me and I was completely devastated when I found out it was about another woman. All of the lies and the real reasons for leaving. I hope he’s happy with his club hopping groupie girlfriend, because he threw away a woman.

1 in the CHAT!!! This is exactly my ex who is the mother of our child. She left me in May this year to be with someone else that she knows. All I've been doing has been focusing on my growth and taking care of our son. There's a part of me that knows she'll be back and if she doesn't then I'll have to deal with it and continue moving on forward

Same just happened to me. But she was lying that the breakup was for other reasons and she still loved me. Found out by 5 minutes on social media that she was seeing another guy the whole time. Im actually happy to find out the truth. She is exposed as an awful gal with no integrity. I dont want that in my life!
I hear you man. I will say, what you see as her "not caring" is actually her distracting herself from a hurricane of emotions. Those emotions don't just go away, they fester, and resurface with a vengeance. I recently just went through a breakup of sorts with a woman who I thought was going to be my life partner. We were off and on, trying to figure out how to move forward. She monkey-branched to someone else within a month and is apparently “falling for him hard.” I was devastated, but after looking through resources, reading, and reflecting, I came to a realization: Do you have any idea how emotionally taxing it is to be with someone who can not be alone? Someone who will not take responsibility for their own emotional needs? They will constantly place all of their emotional needs on you, and when you can not fulfill them, you will be the one they blame and they will seek fulfillment elsewhere, immersing themselves in this repeated cycle, convinced that “this next one” is “the one.” I still love my ex, even with verbal abuse and toxicity, but it made me realize that I have had the same unhealthy attachment, looking to her to fulfill my needs. I need to learn to fulfill these myself to that I don’t demand something so unrealistic of my partner. I will heal, but she will continue to look for something that does not exist and will one day be forced to settle out of the fear of being alone. Love is more than a feeling; it is a collection of acts that all stem from the intention to support the other person’s growth while remaining committed to each other through an extremely messy process. If they are not willing to engage in that process on their own, they will not with you, and you will have sacrificed a beautiful relationship with someone else for a volatile and toxic pursuit of an inconsistent and unsustainable feeling. Food for thought.
Here is the thing dude and this is coming from a person going thru it also. Your growth comes thru your painful moments. There is zero growth from not taking space between relationships I can 100% guarantee you that. This is of course if you do the internal work while split apart. It does feel like they have all the glory but I assure you thats not the case. Its cotton candy my dude and pure fluff. also not to shoot them bail but they are also on theyre own journey I have been a rebound and also rebounder and I only know not to do it based off experience. Let that sink in "only off experience"
15-years; we have a child too. She started talking to a dude she met over the summer. I'm literally destroyed right now and so broken; however, she seems light as a feather and completely unbothered and "deeply in love" with this guy she just met months ago. The pain has been real and difficult; been very hard to move on.

I was used as a rebound. She got pregnant and tried to use the pregnancy to get back with her ex. She dumped me, denied knowing me or having a sexual relationship with me.
So spot on, down to the clothes being bought for her
My ex monkey branched on me. He is a deeply flawed induvidual, with a lot of unhealed trauma, and once again he moved on without dealing with his emotions and trauma. It makes me sad to see him destroy his life and his future like this. She is not the right one for him, and he knows that, but I think she gives him the 20% i couldn't. It's not going to work, I know his mind and there's no way he can live with someone like her and be happy long term. Not that she is a bad person, I don't really know her so I can't tell you if she is or not, but from the little I do know I am confident they are not right for each other at all and this will at some point be an extremely ugly breakup when they finally figure that out.

Dude the opposite of me he smokes drinks Couple weeks ago she came to my apartment telling me that she pregnant with her rebound. I’m having a child with somebody that I’m pretty sure we were both each other’s rebounds. Broke up with him shortly after I found out I was pregnant because I told him from the start I don’t wanna be with someone who drinks and he continue drinking. He’s been involved through text messages throughout the pregnancy but has not made it to any doctor appointment for the baby. When we first met I didn’t even know that he was Married but separated. Here we are eight months later and he still not divorced her or filed for a divorce.

I had a question about monkey branching and emotions.
Everything you said in this video, happened to me. At the end, he mb to his current rb within a week. He said they ended up leaning on eachother bc they both were going thur breakups. She was already whispering in his ear a month before the breakup.
How does one end up having a emotional connection w/someone else, when they said they bearly have any emotions to give to their current relationship and then after the break up, aren't they a hot mess bc they are avoiding their emotions?
Btw, I do not want him back. And he told me a month into his rb, he regrets the bu, still loved me, etc. The told the rb, she begged him to stay (his words not mine) and they still together after 7mo. They crazy? Delusional?

With a Man for 7 yrs. have 1 kid & a step kid together. We broke up but before he left home , he already started seeing someone 2 wks later. Its been 7 months now . He still tells my Mom he Loves me , shes still married to her husband, (been married/together 17 yrs) . Mind You shes 37, hes 30. Their so “happily” in love. We still “deal” with eachother if You know what I mean. On top of that, he found someone who does the same things as me, even when it comes to the career. & I be trying to let her know, but she believes everything he says like a dud. Whats this mean? Will it last?

I broke up with my ex 7/30/21 he met someone online 7/31 lol been with her for a month he contacts me asking me out on a dinner date. Long story short she found out he called me I never went out with him I told them good luck cuz he’s a loser not interested, well fast forward 2/24/2022 i bumped into him at a store and he told me he’s been thinking about me and how he messed up and how he still loves me and he checks my socials and also pass by my house . Well he is engaged to that lady lol I told him he needs help lol I said congrats and left lol he is settling with someone he isn’t into just because he is so codependent and doesn’t want to be alone,
I’m so glad I left him, he was draining my energy when I was with him. Lol
I was recently used (intentionally/unintentionally) used as a rebound
I was going in to it legit.
After 3 weeks of (artificial) bliss, 2½ weeks of being put on hold and then 5 days of repair, she suddenly decided to flip the script out of nowhere and get angry / cold with no resolution or any idea what happened to end up getting yeeted.
I went back through everything, still no idea what actually happened for her to kick me, but after found out that she wasnt over her ex and got abused

I broke it off (said "lets take a pause since work is soo busy") because I noticed the energy shifts and also because he wouldnt commit because of long distance (not knowing i was relocating to the same city after a few weeks) and then he starts seeing someone new almost immediately, I moved into the same city, he agreed to meet with me (as a favor, someone else was with us), and then when i unfollowed him he messaged me immediately about me unfollowing him indicating hurt and then ignored when I responded I cant be friends with someone I had a past with and that he's clearly seeing someone new and never communicated with me. He still follows me and watches my stories and even posts stories with songs trying to indicate that i still miss him, etc. I literally have no idea what to think
So my situation is that i was with my partner for 15 and a half years. We broke up a little less than 2 months ago. I fell into depression etc that led to the break. I started to work on myself. New job, therapy etc. The realtionship was rocky but good. She jumped into a relationship with this new guy after around 4 weeks. They are in LDR for now. Its a long term friends and they know each other well enough. I dont know who the guy is yet as she wont divulge. She was thinking of giving me another go before this new thing but then this new thing happened and boom. Shes very happy. She says he isnt her usual type but i know little about him and she wants to commit to their relationship. Im trying to get her back and my family. But i think i have to give up. She really wants friendship and knows i cant but she does have feelings for me i believe unless im dilided.

@@taylor1959 after almost 8months im on the path to giving up and met someone else. My ex is happy in her relationship even though they have only met once. Turned out to be her online best friend of 10yrs who had always wanted her. Wish them all the best as i try and forge a new life for myself.

My ex put me through this tbh. He monkey-branched to a colleague at his workplace, but I found out from him shortly after the breakup that he'd been wanting out of our relationship for 4 months! And he was too chicken to tell me and go for a clean break :( It was only once he had established that the colleague was interested in him that he called it off with me... He didn't even have the courage to do it in person either, he just called me one day and told me we were done. 5 1/2 years down the drain just like that... I hope like hell the monkey-branch has better boundaries than I did, because god help her if not.

I agree with everything you say however I'm beginning to wonder if I was the monkey branch because she never really talked about her past relationship and I have no clue how long she was out of it before she went with me and shame on me for not asking ..she's already on to the next monkey Branch anyway. yet I have taken 6 months to work on healing myself and staying away from any other relationships and yet I still have a ways to go. I feel whoever monkey branches to the other person is just using them, and thats a form of emotional abuse to the unsuspecting other person who doesn't know about his or her past
I left the 28 year relationship 14 months ago and I’m healing..he was on Tinder and multiples before I left and then publicly “exclusive” 6 months later with a woman who was engaged and has an 8 year old child with that guy but was married to someone else when she got pregnant .. she showed up at our divorce hearing jumping in his arms saying yayyy 😂 THEN she moved in with him before the divorce was final. Definitely a solid foundation!! 😂

I can't help but to think that he actually found someone better(monkey branched) ... He says she listens to him... I wasn't good at that.. It was always MY problems first... And they have soooo much more in common.... I basically didn't have anything in common with him. We just liked each other as people, but didn't do much together but talk and go for walks.. And he said I wasn't the person he thought I was... But he could never find the right time or reason to break my heart... So he led me on for 1 year 2 times.. (a break up once a year during our 2.5 years)

Feel you on this. Mine dumped me after 15yrs. Said she healed after a month and got into a relationship with her best online friend of 10yrs. Theyve never met. They planning meet ups but its thousands of miles away. 2 kids in the middle. He helps her with all the emotions she been going through. Been together almost 3 months now. Dont see it failing as she has stated she has zero feelings etc left for me.

Hey coach, my ex dumped me in June and only told me in September that she had been feeling unfulfilled. I'd been in no contact since early July when she reached out about a tv show. She said She wanted to thank me for making her think about things when I called her out on her behaviour back in July. She said she wanted to experience pain through sex wtf! She told me back in July she went on a date 2 weeks after breaking up. I'm totally confused by All this as we had a good relationship with no fighting, toxicity or anything like that. I believe she's been seeing someone for 2 months now. She recently flirted with me and told me how vulnerable, confused and that she feels in limbo. I guess my question is that is it possible for a person who has been treated well to completely detach and move on or seemingly move on in a matter of weeks
I’m in the same boat. Once they drop you immediately for another guy, you should never take them back. They showed their true colors and instantly discarded you when they lined up a new guy. Never take them back if they do try. Tell them you’re happy with the way things are and you’re seeing new people. Tell her you want to leave the past in the past. She’s not worth your time and effort because she will either go back to the rebound or find someone else. Forget her and go find other women.
She didn’t detach in two weeks: that’s the secret.
She was already emotionally attached to someone else before any of that happened.
@true_plays_games She went out and rode the carousel 🎠 I ignored every red flag early on and I see that now. I feel sorry for her 2 kids. She jumps from one relationship to the next, a great example to be setting for her 2 young children right? Anyway, I was well on my way to finding myself again and met a wonderful Brazilian lady 10 years younger than me and much hotter than my ex who has let herself go. I've been asking high quality questions and exploring both our pasts together and finding about about traumas etc. Every relationship has to been seen as an opportunity for growth

Hey coach, could use your insight. My ex and I broke up back in March, she called me and told me she was going to block me and not to contact her again. Back in June I got a message from her, no words just a simple period.
I waited a little time before I responded. I asked her what was on her mind, she responded with this was unfair to me because she didn’t know, she was going back to no contact but was no longer going to block me. I never responded, several days later she sent me another message asking if I hate her?
I know she is seeing somebody else, so I’ve been very cold towards her. But over the last two months our messages were getting a bit longer, a little more emotional. Whenever I talk about anything other than pleasantries she usually shut down. Any advice?

Technically yes, but if he’s been checked it for awhile, that Relationship ending may not increase your chances of reconciliation.

I was with my ex for 6 months until she decided to end it. I still had her on social media and every now and then, she would send me a message just to say hi or she would react to one of my posts. Found out that after a month that we seperated, she started seeing some other guy, a coworker of hers. They even got matching tattoos and moved in together already. But the weird thing is that she still has all our pictures up on her social media. Do you think this is a rebound??
Don't fixate on it. None of us can tell you what it means because we aren't her so trying to figure this out without her is fixation. You can ask her why she keeps the pictures if you want to know or you can just move on.
You need to take control of yourself and forget her so you can move on and be someone else's prize.

Surely that isn't fair on her?! And I have never had an ex who wants to remain friends when the relationship has ended.
Don't ever take the option never be friends with your ex.
Move on he got together with someone else ok no problem just move on there should be no contact zero nada.

No friends
No holiday wishes
No happy birthday
To you this person is dead.
Just like I did to me my ex is dead

Bruh this sound like my problem been with my ex from she was 19 she 24 now we were ldr but we would see each other. We would be off and on a lot because the ditwnce took a lot on her and she always felt alone and needed me by her side. So fast forward this year we broke up for a month and half and in may I contact her cause my dad died and asked her if she wanted to come to the funeral. Then I like 22 of June her texts start to get slower and she wouldn’t text me for hours then all of sudden to just texting me and didn’t hear from her for 4 days and I knew she wanted to end things cause she does stuff like that. Then when I texted her July 4 she told me she wanna be single and she sorry for hurting. Then coke November I went in my instagram cause I haven’t been on since we broke up she haas pics of another guy kissing being out and happy. I texted her about it and she blocks me then when I finally got her again she said she moved on and have a nice life. I asked her mom about it and she told me that she met the guy in July 2 but she broke up with me July 4 which means she was leading me on and monkey branching all that time. But I don’t know why considering we were broken up that time and the only reason we even talked again was because of my dad. But asking she couldn’t have been checked out the realatiknship cause then again we were broken up and she choose to do girlfriends stuff without me even making her or forcing her. In December 2020 I stopped seeing a different girl and she started seeing a guy a few months later and they’re going strong despite him being recently charged with 2 counts of rape with 2 different women from 2019.

As far as I know, there’s no stipulation that only a dumper can enter into a rebound relationship. Anyone that has just exited a relationship can then rebound.

@@xavierdunbar7842 I don’t want her back and she’s engaged so even if I did, I’m certain it wouldn’t be possible. She is going to marry her rebound. As for why I ended it, there were many reasons. One was that I was never sexually attracted to her. Another was that she has an AP attachment style and I tolerated it for as long as I could but eventually I couldn’t do it anymore. Also, we were a mismatch intellectually….lots of reasons.

For some reason you're intentionally ignoring the truth when you say there was no cheating. The simply timing of everything you laid out screams otherwise...it was likely going on the last 6 months when things cooled. You're probably just too close to be able to objectively recognize the truth. He was cheating for quite awhile and moving in her direction for at least 6 months based on your description. Considering yourself lucky getting out of it...no one should be with a cheater.
