Well said my man! I could tell from the screenshot she had addiction issues. Can spot another addict a mile away as anyone who has battled it, can see it in me.. Love that John Lordan humanizes the victim. Often addicts are made to feel disposable. We are worth saving, we can be redeemed. Peace , love and Prosperity to you and yours!

I agree! Individuals who are alcohol or drug dependent seem to be viewed in such a negative light and as of they do not matter but they do and more vulnerable than most.

Thank you for covering this. I live in WV and I think Speas and Kelly both know what happened. Also, how did they get to Birch, where is his car? You are correct, Kelly obviously had to ask Speas where Cochran was. Ergh! How far could they have possibly gotten on foot. How convenient that he can't remember.....Prayers to her sweet mama.

If Speas can't remember what happened, then how can he say he didn't do anything to her? Some effects of meth: anxiety, paranoia, aggression, and violence, heightened alertness and energy and he says he passed out? Don't people on meth stay up for days? Just wondering.

Something gigantic that seems completely missing from this entire explanation of timeline is HOW DID THEY GET OUT TO THAT AREA WHERES THE VEHICLE?!? They surely didnt walk together from her place to the house they went to but left from walking n then only him still walking hours after that to get a ride eventually from the same man again where is his vehicle how did he pick her up how did they get out that far to his place how did they not have a ride to return her home or to go back in town who just lets two people leave in the middle of nowhere on foot at night to get wherever they where heading by foot knowing its an insanely too far to walk distance for them to walk no matter wgere they were going he said the guy n his gf left to the store so obviously that means shouldve been no issue if needed ride n i would hope most people would offer the ride n insist on it given the circumstances n myself can imagine id also ask them where they were trying to go n if needed a ride etc etc so the whole story seems staged degree which him agreeing n goingbalong with what the other man says n nothing more seeems like his safe way to keep the story straight as possible i just cant get over the ride vehicle how they got there details like thst is a big red flag for missing explanation for the whole thing

When a missing person case involves an individual involved with drugs and bad people, the public and even law enforcement tend to not care nearly as much. That was the case with this one missing woman out here in the East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania area named Dana Smithers. In missing person ads, the family used older photos of Dana, where she’s healthy and motherly looking because of her unhealthy, drugged-out appearance circa the time of her disappearance. Dana was later found dead in a wooded area a year after going missing.

My husband was a CO (Corrections Officer) for 34+ years prior to retirement, and I know how much inmates watch TV including the news. My suspicion is that perhaps the authorities are trying to keep Speas on board, by overplaying his willingness to assist in news interviews.
As the saying goes, "Easier to catch flies with honey instead of vinegar"
The other method hasn't worked until now, could be a different tactic.

I’m from the area. Never underestimate the effects of methamphetamine..walking all night even if he took Xanax would be very normal. I don’t believe anyone’s behavior can be accurately examined through a rational lens due to the heavy substance abuse going on. Meth is insanely powerful on its own, but the hallucinations and paranoia caused by the sleep deprivation mean he was existing somewhere else and wholly unpredictable. He’s 100% accountable if he was involved, but it’s more likely there was little forethought, afterthought, or planning.

Keep in mind that these individuals were most likely also using heroin, which, with use, can cause blocks of time to be fuzzy at best and, at worst, cause complete memory loss.
