One thing about the 5 phones... I'm a programmer and if he was building mobile apps, esp. secure ones that would be required for crypto, then he most likely used them for testing his apps. Companies that I've worked with have scores of phones from different manufacturers for us to test on, each with different operating system versions, screen sizes, etc. Honestly, for self-employed app developers, 5 is on the low side, but would cover a decent percentage of the market. I'm surprised he didn't have at least 2 or 3 tablets for testing too. It would be different if he had 5 sims and was actively using them all for aspects of his personal life.
However, having 8 kids with another on the way - now that's excessive.

And from a non programmer security tech point of view (not that it pertains to this case), but just to say it can be common for people to have 4+ phones for a variety of reasons. One for personal use, one for work especially since a lot of companies provide work phones and I don't like virtual numbers I like explicitly having something separate. One for use of social media and apps on a phone that doesn't have any personal information or contacts/conversations that can be mined by the apps is becoming extremely common in my friend group. Another usually older phone for travel something that if it's lost or stolen won't really be missed. With how things are now it can be a little antiquated from a few points of view to think it's shady to have multiple phones whether they're active phones or not.

I'm from this area and have been a patient of Dr Forsyth years ago. Everyone is absolutely devastated by what's happened and are praying for answers and justice. Personally I don't think he took his own life. There's so much that's confusing about what's been made public as well as rumors and such. Thanks for covering this case again. God bless.

Emergency physician here: almost impossible to steal controlled substances from the hospital these days. Anything removed from the supply has to be associated with a patient, and doctors don’t typically have access to the system. And every day the supply is counted and must match expected count based on what has been used, and each removal prompts verification of remaining supply.

He's a wealthy guy. Wealthy people buy the latest model phones. Nowhere is it stated he was operating 5 phones in his daily life. 3 of them could have been in a draw.
Also, he had developed his own crypto tokens which probably involved a proprietary app. You need multiple devices to test this kind of software.

You’d find 5 phones in my house but not all active. Is there any confirmation that the five phones were actually active with phone numbers or actively being used? Also, it sounds like he is from a large Mormon family, and from that perspective, you can’t discount the very good chance of him living a compartmentalized life. I mean, who gets abducted and doesn’t tell anyone? Well, usually someone who *can’t* tell family or who can’t go to police.

  • @doobat708
    @doobat708 10 месяцев назад +25

Don't apologise for the length of the video! You need to include a lot of information, naturally that takes time! I'm hoping the investigation makes good progress. Having that many phones looks odd, but if he only uses two (work and private), and the rest are older models in disuse but kept for whatever reason (I know I have at least three), that would instantly make people think of it as less shady. We don't know his life. Perhaps he had a phone for hospital work, his private business, his friends, another for family members, perhaps he broke phones easily, and had some spares. I'm not judging him for having phones - it is, however, potentially helpful to the investigation that they can access them.

  • @Bahama3ay

Just on the subject of the 5 phones found in his RV. I have at least 4 phones in various drawers in my place. As I have upgraded to a newer phone my previous phone just gets shoved in a drawer and forgotten about, and so on, so not really unusual to have 5 phones that may have accumulated over the years. Now if it was 5 active phones that is different.

Someone as wealthy as Dr Forsyth may have bought the latest models on release just because they love the tech. It doesn't necessarily have to be suspicious. 3 of those phones could have been sitting in a draw.

I was wondering about hospital surveillance also. How do we know he wasn’t killed somewhere else and perps drove the car to the park to try to dump it? The low quality surveillance doesn’t really confirm it’s him. I think their is a possibility he was using drugs rather than selling. Doing 70-100 hours a week is exhausting. I think he could have been buying stimulants to keep him going. I can’t figure why he was killed other than robbery and perhaps he did large purchases rather than regular smaller ones to avoid suspicion. I think he was robbed. I think he ran different bank accounts much like the phones to hide his activity.

also, isn't the FBI usually involved when there's a homicide that goes over state lines ? they should have been called in @ the latest when the weapon model was identified, seeing as it's also the common 'cop gun' .....

I dont trust that brother, and that's for several reasons....one of them is: never ever have I seen an objekt being intervjued that turns away from the intervjuer and stares right into the camera ...and says that he has no involvment! To me that seems like the characteristics of a narcissist. But,- of course:I could be totally wrong!

One for work, one for family, one for one of his clinics, and another for the cryptocurrency he was developing. I don't think I ever saw him with less than 4 phones. Have they considered the angry patient/family scenario? We have people who are drug seeking who learn what cars belong to which docs to decide if they want to come in or come back later. Someone with a strong personal problem could do the same thing. You could have a situation where someone has a problem, figures out where he goes after his shift. Then they simply bait him into the car with something like "can you help us? medical situation!" so he goes over and then that's where they get him.

Having several phones might indicate he compartmentalized his life and going to a park after hours is a huge red flag. Im sure he didn't want a sex partner to go back to his trailer where they would then know where he was staying and maybe figure out where he worked.

It doesn’t sound like suicide. None of this sounds like that. It’s a homicide 43:38 until evidence comes out to say different. The motive could easily be financial if someone lost money in the crypto currency. It’s going to come down to who the detectives are and how much they can work leads. I wish them well.

It doesn't necessarily have to be his newest crypto venture that was the motivation. More likely a previous crypto transaction(s) or other business interest that has caused this revenge killing. This Doctor had a lot of other side hustles going on - a very complicated life for an ER doctor. You'd think that kept him busy enough? Its quite significant that someone tried to kidnap him before and quite hard to believe his brother didn't think it was a significant factor.

Definitely sounds to me this was a homicide I don’t think he has taken his life. Why so many phones. He didn’t take the phone he used to contact his girlfriend but had other phones with him.
