I don't get why you always open the "Google Photos" on android phones and you open the "gallery" on the iphone.. Just open the stock Gallery app on the android.. Google photos is synced online app, takes a bit longer to load, not a fair contest..
I prefer using Google Photos and usually it is faster than whatever stock photo apps each company puts on. I turn off the sync for these tests. but fair point, I'll try to remember to swap it out when going up against iPhone

I know IPhone 8 gaming is fast but it wouldn't fast enough than LG v30 gaming at later... For example LG v30 has 4GB ram while IPhone 8 plus has 3GB ram but haven't upgraded since IPhone 7 plus, so is IPhone x... Phone battles doesn't do anything about game testing but u know what I mean the lag/crashing in games at any time. More rams, make games lag/crash less.. iPhone 8 plus and IPhone x' gpu upgraded to A11 bionic (apple gaming) of course its fast because it was launched last September. Any new android gaming haven't upgraded yet since Adreno 540 was launched last year. Adreno 540 is same level as IPhone 7 plus which has A10 fusion (apple gaming)
P.S. darkmatter.99 no.. apple games are limited that's the facts
games= iPhone
everything else= V30

I really wanted the blue v30. But looks like t-mobile only have the sliver for pre-order. Lg did a great job this year but really bad marketing tragedy in my opinion.
Randy King I’m bummed too. AT&T has the black version, but blue is nowhere to be found. Sprint is going to get the 30+, but who knows if it will be in blue.

I pre-ordered the black one... I want the blue one, but want the phone itself more.... LG is a very strange company though... They delay the release to the point where people have partially forgotten the V30, and then they only offer the plus with Sprint, and the other colors are no where to be found. They should be selling everything to pull in more people.

Good video and I'm going to get a v30. However, I'm always wandering why you use chrome rather than safari on a iPhone? Chrome is the default browser for Android not for iOS, and this may cause performance difference.
I just filmed Pixel 2 vs iPhone 8 and XZ1C vs iPhone 8 and used Safari on both

I dont care about wireless charging. But I i consider this:
V30 pros: design, wide angle camera, QDAC ( i listen a lot of music ) , camera features
Pixel pros: performance, camera, stereo speakers, updates
But it seems that the price will make the difference for me .

IPhone and lg v30 both has great speakers. Samsung is still struggling about speaker. Samsung shame on you that you have very poor mono speaker

I don't understand why people are comparing the V30 with the iPhone 8 plus, of course the V30 is going to be better. I thought that the V30 is more so on the level of the iPhone X
because the X isn't out yet and the 8+ has a similar price point. but yes will be comparing vs the X when that is out

The iPhone 8 Plus camera does better when exposed to different lighting but the LG v30’s color sensor makes the lights look brighter than they really are

Is definitely slower and kind of buggy on iOS.
because I've used Chrome across everything for years now. like having my pages/logins and everything synced. but if enough people request safari then I'll switch it in future videos. was considering changing it for this test

no disrespect to your "techy" review but ios tends to lean more towards immersive animations...and yes, makes sense, why not use a third party browser vs the native browser on the android for browser testing? Lg v30 is damn pretty but when it comes to raw hardware performance vs the iphone please toss it somewhere.
yeah these videos I think are mostly enjoyed by the Android users who are buying the phones and justifying reasons to get the phone over the iPhone. most iPhone users know exactly what they're buying and are content with that. to your point, this will probably be the last time I use Chrome on iOS for these videos
iphone is 1080p and lg is 1440p, decrease the resolution in settings and try again the speedtest. lg's optimization is far more superior and lg nails the performance. and display is very gorgeous. best phone of 2017
I'm sure it'd do a better job if both were at 1080p, but I just do default settings because I don't want to make too many videos with slight variations. But regardless V30 did an excellent job here.
I dont think LG has a lower resolution feature, no androids do besides samsung and I think Huawei.

LG really has made something of themselves since the V10. There really is no other phone to put it it up against than the Pixel 2, it beats Galaxy and Iphone, shockingly beats Iphone's amazing multitasking skill.

Way too expensive only to run games 1 sec faster. Advantages of iPhone 8 are 4k 60fps and running games 1 sec faster but in all other things is iPhone way far behind and to expensive. I rather a S8 or Note8, V30, Mate 10 and etc.

Apple's increase in performance on the cpu seems to hurt day to day use. It's great for gaming, tough shit processing e.g. 240 fps 4k recording. But normal use is better on top android phones and very darn good on mid range android phones. This happened with last year's phones already. I use Sony Xperia x compact which matches or even beats my wife's iPhone 7 except gaming. I think nougat is very efficient.
So no one notices how many apps have been installed on iPhone that he have to come to 4th page of the selected apps whereas in lgv30 it's just the 2nd page to home page
the V30 has a lot of apps that are in the app drawer and not on the main pages. but yes there are more apps installed on the iPhone

The LG V30 does very well in this test when you consider it also has a higher resolution (1440x2880) screen, so it has to push more pixels (530ppi) than the iphone which has a (1080x1920) screen (401ppi). I am still using the LG V20 which is fast enough for my needs and available at a fantastic price, but LG certainly impresses with the V30.

Games might load longer on the LG V30, but the LG will power a better screen that it will look better so it's a tie bc you might have a slightly better gaming experience on the V30.

Front Facing Camera Vid on LG is very bad.
And rear camera video is even worse on the LG. The lights in the streets way to bright and it stutters at movement

I have the 8 plus and I love it but the LG V30 is probably the phone of the year. I will pick one up by next June as my 2nd phone. I still don’t trust their build quality.

Legitimately disappointed that LG sucks at marketing. This phone could of done much better if the release wasn't so messed up. Still a beast phone though. V30 for the win!

I love LG phones, i have. G6 and my V30 comes Monday. I think with the disaster the G5 was, and people experiencing boot loop issues on some former models, people have shy away from LG. They are missing out BIG TIME!!! Or they have just become sheeple to Samsung and Apple and can't see past it.

Compare v30 with xz1 asap, you said you'll do it. You should compare photos of their cameras also. And take photos of humans for the comparison please.
