LG better not stop the v series because I am hooked .... bought some soundmagic e50c headphones that are 50ohm which enables the LG v30 amplifier and wow the audio is alive ... never heard a phone so good ... if anyone doubts this phone please take a set of high impedance headphones rated at 50ohm or above to a store to test it if you like music be warned you will probably buy the phone there and then ... the audio in video recording is better than any phone as well , now you can actually record concerts in 4K with cd quality and no distortion... surely features like the quad dac ... the high end microphones ... the wide angle camera ... the features like slog video recording for video enthusiasts... the military grade materials... surely these are more important than a bixby button and dex features that no one actually uses ✌️
I used the iPhone6 plus.... Terrible phone... So I switched to my current V20 what a great phone.... Can't wait for the V30 here in San Diego California... :)
I don’t understand why everyone is focus more on the camera feature of the V30 but not the premium audio killer of it. For me it’s the only and the best feature there is. I can’t stress that enough. I’m a photographer, I don’t care how good a phone camera becomes they still not on part with DSLR. I am never satisfied with any mobile photography with those tinny image sensor.

I currently have a 7plus & V30. No comparison V30 in so many ways. It has all features added to the 8 with much faster connectivity with smoking quad dac headphone jack and great p-oled display.

They are doing LG a favor by keeping them in the spotlight. In fact, most people that are favoring the V30 are frustrated with the delay so reviewers have all the time in the world to test this phone since it's all they have to work with.
The thing is 90% of the time it comes down to ecosystem, where have you invested your time and money in to. Usually android users stay with android devices, and iOS with iPhones. You get the occasional person who jumped ship, other times you get enthusiasts like a lot of us who carry both. But most of the time, these comparisons and choices don’t really affect the buying decision of the above people that I mentioned.
Koji G I agree it is the investment of the System your in, I have never had IOS, not ever interested to transfer, would be a migraine. If you don't like it than your stuck. If you realize it too late....
Gotta say, the latest LG's have been great devices. The G2 was a favourite for many, G3 was woefully underpowered (Facebook was enough to lag that thing out) however the G4 (and up) have been great, good prices too.

I've been in the iPhone photo ecosystem forever. I now have the V30. Any suggestions for easiest way to take pics and transferring from android to mac desktop? I'm used to iPhone being automatic to Photos or iCloud. I've been using a USB cable with an android transfer app- but that's cumbersome. Thank you for any tips or links!! PS I love the option of regular or wide angle lens on V30 and great battery life!
I've been using an iPhone 6S Plus for the past couple years and would probably go to an 8 Plus but the lack of 3.5mm input is a deal breaker. I play guitar to backing tracks almost daily and use the 3.5mm into my amps. I'm not fucking around with adapters that newer versions of iOS could and most likely will kill support for. LG V30 is going to be the pick for me this round. 3 more days!

@Mysterious Taco okay, sorry. the processor is better and i should have included it. but you are LOSING twice the memory, which means more loading times, and the Camera app on iOS is just so lacking. The V10,V20, and the V30 have incredible camera apps that almost any company cannot compete with. Also, I forgot to put in the POLED display vs. the IPS LCD display.
I have a feeling that if LG keeps going at this pace, they will end up matching if not beating the galaxy. Something I wish the lgv30 had is the volume buttons on top and bottom of the fingerprint scanner.

Lg v30 hands down. He is comparing the Auto mode camera of v30 vs iphone 8, but lets not forget the v30 has a manual mode it could improve the quality of the pic and the video. FOr me that is the most important thing.
And you clearly don't know a lot about photography if you think the stage light portrait mode is useless ! It can be very useful to blank out the background completely

I think the LG is the easy winner here based on you've said. I'll to look elsewhere for the "real vs review" as I'm considering the LG.
John also it depends on the ecosystem that you have like me I used to have only android and now I’m debating if going back since last year I had to change to the iPhone 6s Plus great phone still this year, and I got me an iPad Pro and the AirPods so I’m not sure if I should go back to Android to be honest
My only issue with Android devices is the support lifecycle. You spend a lot of money on a device and then wait to get an Android update that may never come. Supporting a phone for 2 years or less is a joke. I am still using the iPhone 6s+ because it's still supported and runs fine, name one Android smartphone from 2015/2016 that is still supported without rooting and flashing.
I am strongly considering the iPhone 8 plus over the V30. Even with everyone saying get the V30/the iPhone 8 plus is trash, fuck all those 2014 vibes and those bezels, etc. I have been using Android phones for a long ass time and have always hissed at the idea of owning an iPhone. I am currently using the V20 and I've used the V10, G3, and other Android phones and they simply just do not stand the test of time. It may be more bang for the buck up front but you'll be banging out more bucks later on when the phone starts to decline in terms of performance and you've got to get a new device. If you want to own a phone for less than two years at most then go Android. The updates are almost non-existent. I know LG is trying to change that but it still depends on the carrier at the end of the day. iPhones are constantly getting updates. Apple seems to take its customers more serious in that regard even if they do severely limit what the end user can actually do with their phone. In my usage over time (more than 8 months on the V20) the phone rapidly degrades in performance and becomes increasingly glitchy and lags. The batteries start to require much more charging with the same steady usage. The V series sounds great on paper and looks great at first glance but over time it shows its true colors. It's a flashy phone that boasts a lot of potential but it isn't an endurance runner whereas the iPhone is. The V series may have great cameras but they over expose almost every shot without having to tweak the settings like crazy, which is a pain in the ass, and even then the shots don't always come out true to life. And good luck just pointing and shooting without having to make some sort of settings change to get a quick real life shot. I tried it today with my phone and my sisters 8 plus and the 8 plus was much more true to life without adjusting anything. The screen retention/ghosting issue is very alive and well in the V Series and while not permanent it is a permanent annoyance. Now with the OLED screen I am certain that permanent screen burn will be a common issue with the V30. These phones over heat when recording and the batteries die insanely fast after just 6 months. I can kill a 100% battery in an hour while recording. Overall, if you want the latest and greatest until the next latest and greatest a year later, jump on the LG flagships. If you want a phone that is going to last you a few years and not rapildly deteriorate in terms of performance and overall device longevity, maybe look into an iPhone like I am doing. It's hard for me to say all this bc I have trashed Apple so hard for so many years. I have faithfully stood by Android and LG especially over the past several years but Android phones just do not stand the test of time like iPhones seem to. Idk, someone prove me wrong 🙃
Why do reviewers never seem to do what I’d consider common sense and set the screen timeout to 5 or 10 mins? Screens constantly having to be prodded is so tiresome.
Basil I do like the V30 but I seem to be trapped inside the Apple eco system. I wasn’t that impressed with some of the pictures from the V30 thinking that they appeared to be a bit grainy but maybe that is me. Thanks as usual for the great videos you produce. I have a pair of ath m50x and a lg g3 sound is low i tired the same headphones in a sam s7edge and was louder i just tired the same headphones on an i6 plus and was very loud so i would be interest in level of sound on the new sam s8, note and Lg v30... I think you should not compare LG V30 camera agents another smartphone yet,because it is still pre production software,and it should be a little bit better when they release it officially. But still I like the videos :)

please do a speaker test as lg speakers are usually very loud.g5 had a bottom facing speaker and it was the loudest last year.

In my usage over time (more than 8 months on the V20) the phone rapidly degrades in performance and becomes increasingly glitchy and lags. The batteries start to require much more charging with the same steady usage. The V series sounds great on paper and looks great at first glance but over time it shows its true colors. It's a flashy phone that boasts a lot of potential but it isn't an endurance runner whereas the iPhone is. The V series may have great cameras but they over expose almost every shot without having to tweak the settings like crazy, which is a pain in the ass, and even then the shots don't always come out true to life. And good luck just pointing and shooting without having to make some sort of settings change to get a quick real life shot. I tried it today with my phone and my sisters 8 plus and the 8 plus was much more true to life without adjusting anything. The screen retention/ghosting issue is very alive and well in the V Series and while not permanent it is a permanent annoyance. Now with the OLED screen I am certain that permanent screen burn will be a common issue with the V30. These phones over heat when recording and the batteries die insanely fast after just 6 months. I can kill a 100% battery in an hour while recording. Overall, if you want the latest and greatest until the next latest and greatest a year later, jump on the LG flagships. If you want a phone that is going to last you a few years and not rapildly deteriorate in terms of performance and overall device longevity, maybe look into an iPhone like I am doing. It's hard for me to say all this bc I have trashed Apple so hard for so many years. I have faithfully stood by Android and LG especially over the past several years but Android phones just do not stand the test of time like iPhones seem to. Idk, someone prove me wrong 🙃
Why do reviewers never seem to do what I’d consider common sense and set the screen timeout to 5 or 10 mins? Screens constantly having to be prodded is so tiresome.

For me, there's no competition here. The LG V30 has everything that I want in a phone. Period.

Basil I do like the V30 but I seem to be trapped inside the Apple eco system. I wasn’t that impressed with some of the pictures from the V30 thinking that they appeared to be a bit grainy but maybe that is me. Thanks as usual for the great videos you produce.

Great video yet again... But would still like a wired headphone comparison... I have a pair of ath m50x and a lg g3 sound is low i tired the same headphones in a sam s7edge and was louder i just tired the same headphones on an i6 plus and was very loud so i would be interest in level of sound on the new sam s8, note and Lg v30... I will be getting the lg

I think you should not compare LG V30 camera agents another smartphone yet,because it is still pre production software,and it should be a little bit better when they release it officially. But still I like the videos :)
