Full on Nexus/Pixel user here, and I have to say that the V30 is the only phone on the market that makes me wonder if the Pixel 2 is really the phone I want to get. LG looks like they've made an incredible device with everything I need, and then some.
especially since they're removing the headphone jack on the pixel 2. also sd card slot would be a welcome return. currently rocking a Nexus 6.. so the v30 should a be a great upgrade for me.
same with me, but I am little concerned with the display. i used to have same grey areas issue mentioned on my galaxy tab s. Once you notice, you can never enjoy night scenes in any movie. I really hope its a software fix.
Same here. Ready to upgrade from my Nexus 6, but it was such a letdown with every new leak of the Pixel 2. I've been so excited for the V30 and since I'm on Verizon, I'll be one of the first to get it in the States next Thursday!
I'm have to get the pixel 2 xl the design is based off the v30 with dual front speakers and a metal plus glass back! Like the v30 though. Still in love with my v10. The pixel is just better its my normal carry around device
Better battery life and bigger screen are opposites. Especially since they have the same size battery. Also, a better camera is very subjective. on a video side of things, the LG crushes the note 8. Furthermore, the 1.6 real glass lens is a better hardware feature, you can't upgrade hardware with future patches.
Kiloe Young crushing what exactly I think e both watched the same exact video... audio and camera.... Same size battery but one knows how to manage the battery life better than the other
Steve Bergman it's most definitely not a marketing thing. There is a huge difference in audio quality. Pick up a $400 pair of wired headphones and compare them side by side with $20 Bluetooth headphones. Good quality headphones with a good DAC make the difference. If your not using high quality headphones then prehaps it might be hard for some people to tell the difference. But it's night and day for me. I'm not saying the note is trash. It's quite good. But the spen doesn't have any use for me personally. I can see how someone who depends on it would chose the note. I think it all comes down to personal preference in the end anyway
My primary concern is with the front camera. Secondary concern is the lag that is apparent in every video which I hope is gone by the official release.
Azizsomething I had preference toward the V30 since I owned the V10 (also lower price, quad DAC and overall brand loyalty), but I've been waiting since August. then i hear it wont be out until november, LG simply announced the phone too soon. 3 months is not a good marketing strategy for phone manufacturers. I went with the Note 8 because it checked many of the same boxes, and I'm quite happy. it's a great phone and (dare I say) the most high quality device I've ever owned. so if you are on the fence about these 2, give the note 8 a shot. don't let something like brand loyalty hold you back from a great purchase. cheers
🚨 So correction; there's a one handed feature on the V30. You swipe left to right on the home soft buttons to access it and it can appear on either side of the screen. Here's a secret...they actually had it before Samsung, go figure 🙄
Nnamdi Jideani in your rush to slam Samsung, I think you missed his actual point. The point was that it's physically easier to reach the top of the screen on the LG phone, but that if you use Samsung one-handed mode, it makes that almost a moot point. Personally I think there are better Solutions anyway either phones one-handed mode, just by installing an app that uses customized gestures to pull down the notification shade.
Rich Brown actually I didn't miss his point at all. I agree but he said "which you'll miss out on the LG V30" which means he doesn't know that the same feature exists on the V30.
Banglaz Bless LG has had it forever, not sure how far it goes back but I know they made it easier to access with the V20.. Either way the point is both phones have this feature so you can't miss out on it regardless which you use.
Nnamdi Jideani LG never had a big phone before the note so why would they have a one handed mode? Note phones was the first to introduce one handed mode bra.
I held the V30 and immediately fell in love. Spending time with it, I loved the in-hand feel and the responsiveness. There's also so many little things about the phone that might not be captured in a review. I currently own an S8 and will be discarding it for the V30 on launch day, if possible.
So u immediately fell in love with a set with inferior design and display quality even before utilizing its main aspect like the audio quality? feels like one of those internet troll comments
phoenix_86 they havn't had a looping problem since the V20. So 3 flagship phones in.. I highly doubt it'll happen again. Stop using that as an attack.. it's like if I keep bringing up the explosion of the note 7.. It happened, but it's gone. Leave it be, talk about what we have here not what we had
I've owned a V20 since October of last year and haven't had a boot loop. Since I use the quad dac pretty much every day with my wired headphones and my car's aux input, I don't think I can go back to another phone. The difference is too noticeable. I'll take a quad dac over an S-pen any day (I say that having owned a Note 1, 2, 3, Edge, and 7). My only complaint with LG is that their software support is even worse than Samsung, and I thought that was impossible. Since I've bought the V20 there hasn't been an OS update. I'm still running Android 7.0. I thought I would at least have gotten 7.1.1 by now. I'm still getting the occasional security update though which arguably might be more important than an OS update.
man, what a great time to be buying a phone. LG and Samsung have really outdone themselves in different ways. I'm pretty serious about audio so the V30 is my choice, that Note 8 is shockingly tempting
I own the Note 8 and it's perfect! The nonsense we see in various review videos about the size is all unfounded. It definitely does not feel too big or too heavy, the larger screen is useful in every way and is stunning.
All else being equal, technically speaking, ESS Sabre ES9218P used by V30 is comparable to dedicated mid-high level music players. Thus, you don't have to buy a separate music player. Although storage capacity is an important consideration. Secondly, if you already invested in quality headphones/IEM, V30 will be a good choice.
People say LG stole Samsung's design... To be fair, LG released the LG G6 with the taller screen and rounded corners before Samsung and every other company - if I'm not mistaken. The only thing LG got was the curves from Samsung, and it is not even the actual display, just the glass.
johnmade69 Yes, but what counts is that the LG came first. And Im no LG fanboy here, Im just stating the obvious. By that logic, I could say "Samsung and LG copied Apple by making bezel-less phones. Apple was already working on it but because of leaks and etc. LG and Samsung released the phones first but Apple wasn't the 'copycat'".
johnmade69 But again, Apple had been working on bezel-less smartphones since the first iPhone, so that means every bezel-less smartphone is copying the X. What matters is what comes out to the market first. I see I won't be able to have an unbiased argument with you, so I am done with this conversation.
johnmade69 How wouldn't you know Samsung had the design first before Lg? And do you think it will be that easy for Lg to change the design of the G6 to compete with the S8 bezel less design from the short time frame between the first leak of the S8 to the release of the G6 it takes more then just copying and pasting.
Potato That Plays Games Dude, don't bother with this guy... It doesn't matter what you put out, is not going through his biased skull. PS: He doesn't get sarcasm either.
Brilliant video. Thanks for a lengthy discussion about in hand feel & weight & specifically mentioning the width as that plays an important role in holding a smartphone.
I’m using an iPhone 7. Fuck this phone and fuck the S7- Just kidding. I’m not one of those. I regret getting this phone. I finally realized how shitty my phone is when I saw a friend with the 8. It reminded me of myself and how I paid more for less. Anyway the LG V30 is definitely my next phone. Thanks for reading.
I wanted the V20 but not available in Europe and not willing- to buy any phone that does not have the 2 year Manufacture Warranty. I contacted LG and they said they could not honour a warranty from outside Europe :(
Don't get me wrong, the Galaxy line is great and at one point I use to own one but this time around I like what LG has done with the V30 and will be buying it unlock when it releases in the US.
Went note 8, always been with Samsung since note 2, huge spen user. But, I will say LG v30 is the first phone that made me consider not going with a note, and for most consumers I'd say LG v30 vs s8, and while both great, I'd opt for the v30.
johnmade69 not sure what exactly you mean? The note 8 was lagging? Most of the video showed it transiting in and out of apps and pretty much everything he was doing, it did better than the v30. And I've had mine for 3 weeks now, loaded with nova launcher and idk 50 apps (which I never close) and mines been buttery smooth, no difference between it and the s8 I traded in for, my wife's s8 active, or my s7 edge.
Pixel oh, I guess could've taken that either way. I really doubt after you actually get the phone setup how you want and such the v30 would lag badly. Maybe not quite as quick and fluid as other phones, but not enough to ruin it nor would you always have phones side by side comparing them all the time throughout your normal day. But, I did still go note. For me it's the better phone for me. For anyone not needing a pen, I'd say go s8 or LG v30. LG really has some killer features you'd actually want and use on a phone, but darn if that s8 isn't a great "little" phone
I've had an lg v20 since December and i can say its given me a lot of problems for example the phone has gotten considerably slower, it randomly freezes so much so that I have to take out the battery sometimes, it overheats, and I seem to have a problem with the screen that when I'm watching a video i can still see the notification bar and on screen home, back, and task manager buttons just faded out
Nikk Thompson I agree dude. I went with the Note8 over the v30, not cause of the spen, but the camera. The ultra wide camera looks amazing with the v30 but since I prefer portraits instead of landscapes, I chose the note8 because it's camera is also incredible. But as I said, I agree because the v30 had me strongly considering it.
DA Galaxie LG has made a more affordable pen featured phone which is the LG Styli 3 plus. It carries a pen And there is a program for it. It's not full featured as the note 8 but it has some. Hopefully in the future LG will perfect it.
DA Galaxie It's got tons more then just the pen my friend...bigger more crisp screen, way better camera, better multitasking. It's just a way better phone.
Bro....it's like a like your phone phone...it's looks great. Me: the features are even better Her: really? Me: yeah, watch this open your hand. Her: ok Me: (opens dialer ) enter your number this will actually call and text Her: Good one... Gets digits...lol easy
V30 for me thanks. I've never seen anyone with the note use the s pen and a telephoto lens is just silly. The quad dac, wide angle camera, camera software and design make the V30 my choice.
SDav21 I'm using the S pen right now to type this comment! The reason you don't see anyone use it is because it's not practical when you're out and walking around. When you're at home, sitting down, the pen is SOOO much easier than your finger. The only times I don't use the s pen are when I'm in my car, walking, or if I'm only going to be using my phone for a few seconds.
johnmade69 it's the production model, and even if the lag was there, the production model almost destroyed the note 8 in this video. While the note 8 is already available for pre-order I think.
sometime u need to clear ur ram, and btw i have v30 here and note 8. i use the note for one week adn the v30 for one week i found that the screen is almost the same, v30 have better batter and for the true even faster then the note 8 in games and few apps openning :D crazy phone guys, just crazy:D big win for v30
I'd take a lg v30 that's cheaper, quad dac, slightly better camera, better design (like on the back), better fingerprint. Not a s pen fan at all. I'd rather take what the lg v30 did RIGHT
V30 looks like the phone of the year, props to LG, I was going to wait for the Google pixel xl but now that's unlikely. My S7 edge will be my last Samsung phone. Not long now.
Ilham Rahman the Note8 was still on pre-production software when reviewers first got them. Was the lag as noticeable as on the V30? Not by a long shot.
That Blue on the V30 is FIRE!!! Sadly LG has taken too long with this launch and I already picked up a Note8. I hope the V30 does well and LG keeps up this quality
I'm gonna be buying a v30 when the unlocked version is available. Upgrading from a Moto Nexus 6... so it should a worthy upgrade for sure. plus that location of the fingerprint reader on the note is just awful.
Adam M To me it's silly looking like old Samsung silly. Its a great phone but to me their UI just looks bad, when directly compared to Samsung's which looks all futuristic and clean. Don't let that detract you from the phone though my dislike of the UI isn't everyone's.
Adam M I love the LG UI...To say its ugly is pure fanboyism opinion..Anyways these reviews are usually funded by Samsung and Apple. Thats why they will never admit that the v30 has a better design than that of the bricky note 8 and will use all types of excuses..Seriously, have a look at that note 8 back...
What a great comparison, thanks Alex! I'll likely go with the V30 mostly because of the DAC and wide angle camera. Disappointed that LG dropped the removable battery. But sadly since no other manufacture offers anymore, it really can't factor in comparison anymore... Though it is a good argument to just keep my V20 until it dies.
The V20 and V10 already had the one handed mode so, I'm not sure why he states "something that you'll miss out on the V30" 6:34 into this video. I would imagine it's still part of the feature package with the V series. I had always used Samsung's note series since they hit the scene but, once I got onto the V series, I now prefer the LG devices. Less buggy / wonky software. I run a GUI wrapper without issue and make it look the way I want so, the looks of their GUI isn't a deal breaker.
This, is what Samsung has been having issues with for years: thedroidguy.com/2016/12/samsung-galaxy-note-4-touchwiz-keeps-crashing-issue-related-problems-1069039
Most, if not all of these devices are running preliminary and / or beta firmware so, that also should be taken into consideration regardless of brand. A lot of times, they'll release beta versions just to make the release date announcements and get them out for review. In some cases, devs will disable certain functions due to known bugs.
Who's the fucking idiot now smart guy. I told you Samsung had issues and, they've still got the same issues and wonky ass software problems on their Note 8 that they had on their Note III. Same shit, same company, different Note model and, according to a number of articles, they're still suffering from the same problems as before minus the exploding battery. Short list of issues so far: -Lagging Audio and Video -No audio on either Tx or Rx during phone calls (age old issue still plaguing Samsung) -WiFi doesn't auto-connect and, sometimes, won't connect at all. (Age old issue) -Data auto-connect doesn't work and will not connect at times. (Age old issue) -Phone turns on by itself randomly / sporadic power on anomaly. -wireless charging is sporadic - defective units are being returned already. thedroidguy.com/2017/10/samsung-galaxy-note-8-lag-recording-video-issue-related-problems-1076817 www.businessinsider.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-problems-2017-8 us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-Note-Phones/Note-8-wireless-charging-issue/td-p/162268
Looks like they've now got display issues - purple tint and dead pixels along with bluetooth issues, scrolling issues, choppy video playback on You Tube, can't remove icons from home screen, face-unlock is failing, yellow tint on display, While certainly, not a dud, they're not free from defects. The list at Android Authority is growing daily now that people are using the Note 8 devices.
Once you pay $1000 dollars for a phone then they will ask for $1500. No Thanks.. V30 last at least 2 hours more and absolutely more customizable in software than Samsung has ever been. No more Samsung for me.. Done after the Note 2.
The v30 is the first phone I have ever seen that I can't wait to preorder. When the Note 8 came out I touched it at an at&t store and moved on completely forgetting it existed.
Edwin I have a G3, so I know exactly what the "bootloop shit" is all about. I have heard that G6 didnt have that same problem so they may have solved that issue. Atleast I hope so.
tech random tv There's at least one LG V30 Vs Note 8 where it's the Note 8 being laggy. What I really want is something like the V30+ and a *clean* Android. So I'm waiting on a V30+ Vs (LG) Google Pixel XL 2 before I buy. We've had Note 5's wireless charging fail and needing to replace the phones. That's a PITA...
tech random tv IMHO for what any of these companies are changing .. at least 6 GB or more RAM and at least 256 GB or more storage. Frankly, the storage options should be 512 GB and 1 TB. You well know 4K video burns RAM _like gas burning in a fire._
Are the image in camera lighting features on the Note 8 available on the LG V30? Where you can adjust forelighting prior to taking the image, and after as well.
I'm not the one to say someone is bias (a lot of these so called reviewers are)...But this dude is very bias in the comparison( to the point we're he says u can't use duel screen on the v30, and there isn't single hand use on it???).....Just say you like the note 8, it's ok....but don't act like your not bias to it, sheesh
I actually thought he was more biased towards the LG. You must have or want the V30. I have the Samsung thus possibly making us both bias as to what we hear eh?
I owned Note 8 just because i'm afraid of the bootloop issues of LG phones (happened to both my G4 & V10). Does it still have the same o'l bootloop issue?
does note 8 live focus works in video mode ? if its only works in picture mode then this is not point to give note 8 bcoz v30 also give the same bokeh effect after taking a picture
Pedro Rainha it has been military tested and idk how durable it is compared to the past V series phones, but it is definately more durable than other flagship phones. Hope that helped
antione english if it wasn't a big deal, it wouldn't be widely known. And the V30 has perfect finger print scanner placement for one that's on the back of the phone.
I had the V20. I loved it so much. Amazing phone. The V30 looks great as well, but the Note 8 is the better phone this year and that's why I picked one up. Unless you're really into taking video or you need the best audio, the power user will appreciate the Note 8 more. Although the best power user phone is probably still the V20.
The note 8 had my interest but not anymore it is a beautiful phone. But I'm waiting for v30 which has mostly everything I needed. Lg just need to have a price and release the phone before it's too late.
I 'm a Note fan and get a new one every year. Tried the LG V20 last year when I had to give up my Note 7. Nice phone, great sound, didn't like the camera. Missed my Note, so now I have the Note 8 and totally love it. I do use the s pen continually, though.
Full on Nexus/Pixel user here, and I have to say that the V30 is the only phone on the market that makes me wonder if the Pixel 2 is really the phone I want to get. LG looks like they've made an incredible device with everything I need, and then some.

V30 is significantly cheaper, vastly superior audio and actually has a finger print sensor that you can actually use. Clear win for LG.
SunsetNova how significantly cheaper it is? I read $80 cheaper the v30 is. That is not much in my book.
David Taverna how about researching your spelling. Fucking hell.
Banglaz Bless you're wrong. In the UK the Note is £880 and the LG V30 is predicted £700. The price gap will be similar in the US. Do you're research.
Banglaz Bless $500 around Christmas son 🎅🏾
SunsetNova i can perfectly reach the fingerprint scanner
It's basically audio and video vs productivity of the s pen.
I'll take the v30.

Have always been impressed with LG's V series. I really wish they get a break this year with the V30!
johnmade69 it was a pre production unit. I'm sure LG has worked out the kinks by release
My primary concern is with the front camera. Secondary concern is the lag that is apparent in every video which I hope is gone by the official release.
ended up buying the note 8 yesterday
I understand as V30's release date is later. I've been waiting to buy a phone since late July and I though by September, I would've had one.

Jatin VK aye I was going to say, my V10 had that I was confused why the v30 wouldn't
Please upvote this comment so that android central sees this and adds an annotation to correct the error
dumb LG didnt give this feature to G5
1000 ABONE -VIDEOSUZ- There is a one handed mode in g5 as well.. Just enable it from settings.. Or Google it

Seems pretty obvious the V30 is most popular in the comments. Game over. The people have spoken. Everyone else can jog on
David Taverna I remember htc did the same and then it was discover that HTC paid HTC elevate members. Very suspicious comment section
But sales not reflecting lol. And I'm a v20 user
V30 is my next phone.

Cannon Powers you can't Tone down a beast like the V30!
Sorry my comment was meant for johnmade69
Cannon Powers ok bro!
johnmade69 note 8 is boring
NOTE IS THE ORIGINAL KING OF THE PHABLETS. LG BOOTLOOP WATCHOUT
that blue is EVERYTHING on the v30....
i prefer lg v30 more
Pop Rock
Same
Same here
i prefer huawei mate 10
Pop Rock same
I'll take my V20 over either. I need my IR blaster and removal battery. OLED is overrated anyhow.
I want to get a Pixel 2 because of the software experience and fast updates. If I don't go for the Pixel though, I would go for a V30.
Wesley Bush I think the pixel will be very overpriced and won't have the quad dac of the v30.
Had the note 4, now have a V20, I do not miss the stylus.
Using s7 edge now i will prefer lg v30 note 8 is like a heafty brick !!
johnmade69 i didnt see that lets come out the official release unit then we will see and its benchmarks are also higher
johnmade69 we have to wait we can't say so much as this is s a pre release unit
Dope Tech what's the difference in grams between the two phones?
I’m using an iPhone 7. Fuck this phone and fuck the S7- Just kidding. I’m not one of those. I regret getting this phone. I finally realized how shitty my phone is when I saw a friend with the 8. It reminded me of myself and how I paid more for less. Anyway the LG V30 is definitely my next phone. Thanks for reading.
I currently have a v20 after the note 7 fiasco and definitely am happy I made the switch
SHIN2341 me too!!! My note 7 makes a good paper weight though
SHIN2341 does your v20 heat up easily? Mine does alot
ive noticed at time it can. when I'm doing heavy multimedia use . but typically I started using better ram management and it barely gets warm now
I wanted the V20 but not available in Europe and not willing- to buy any phone that does not have the 2 year Manufacture Warranty. I contacted LG and they said they could not honour a warranty from outside Europe :(
G6 owner so I'm biased but damn do I wish I held out for the V30.
Don't get me wrong, the Galaxy line is great and at one point I use to own one but this time around I like what LG has done with the V30 and will be buying it unlock when it releases in the US.
I love the V30 better. It’ll be my next phone as soon as it comes out. I know that I’m going to enjoy the audio quality of the V30. Can’t wait.
Wouldn't mind having either of them. Both are extremely good.
Nikk Thompson he's saying that the V30 was lagging like crazy. Don't worry about your Note.
That LGV30 color. OMG so lively
So basically in 2019, the v30's price is 199€/250€ but for the note 8? Damn boy 470€ that's legit
The only thing Samsung has on lg is the s pen. If LG had that, there would be no reason to get the note 8 over the v30. I say v30 wins by a landslide.
DA Galaxie note has twice as much ram,and the camera is actually better
Cyrus Lever lgv30 has horrible front camera
8 gigs of Ram are unnecessary (makes it just more expensive) and I doubt if the camera is really better
Lg has a one handed shrinking screen option under display settings. It's called mini view
The LG V30 is so nice so you can pick up girls with it :)
Jörgen Nilsson lol no lie...I got a pink v20 though....but boi oh boi lol
+Daniel Moseley he he.. that must be a girld magnet :)
Jörgen Nilsson Shout out to Germany!!
Bro....it's like a like your phone phone...it's looks great.
Me: the features are even better
Her: really?
Me: yeah, watch this open your hand.
Her: ok
Me: (opens dialer ) enter your number this will actually call and text
Her: Good one...
Gets digits...lol easy
Im a use that shit too but wih the Note 8
Lgv30 baby!
Oo come on V30 also has one hand mode search more before talking.. V30 naild it this time
Well done this time LG
Doesn't happen on my device, I can confirm :) just got it this morning.
V30 any day
johnmade69 fanboy all day
V30 for me thanks.
V30 is way better. Phone of the year.
this is postproduction model .
johnmade69 it's the production model, and even if the lag was there, the production model almost destroyed the note 8 in this video. While the note 8 is already available for pre-order I think.
yes yes and yes .
sometime u need to clear ur ram, and btw i have v30 here and note 8. i use the note for one week adn the v30 for one week i found that the screen is almost the same, v30 have better batter and for the true even faster then the note 8 in games and few apps openning :D crazy phone guys, just crazy:D big win for v30
Thinking about buying the V30 when it comes out over here in the UK. What do you think?
Pottsie I'll buy it next year when the price had dropped
Do what you want.
I'll get the blue one. Looks amazing
V30 just more attractive, look and feel better I think, sleeker
V30 all day. Those shots looked so much better than on the note. Plus the audio capabilities are the sell point of the v30
Yohanel Urena clouds were over exposed And the phone lagged like crazy during the video and photos were too satured/ over exposed in the building
In currently on a Note 5 but will be switching to the V30 this time around! I haven't been this excited for a device in a long time!!!
AvidGamer08 enjoy the bootloops
V30 is my next phone :) can't wait for it to ship and ACTUAL reviews to come in
What color should i take the v30 ._.(i like the blue and silver but i cant choose)
I'd take a lg v30 that's cheaper, quad dac, slightly better camera, better design (like on the back), better fingerprint. Not a s pen fan at all. I'd rather take what the lg v30 did RIGHT
Evan Mansfield also its ip68
"The main cameras for these phones are near identical"
*Every photo from the v30 looks significantly better in the comparison*
dude why hate on lg so fu*king much
johnmade69 what a bitch trolling over every comment... V30 camera is superior over the note 8, let it sink in
ReGGie siZzla™ ikr he is just a butthurt samsung fanboy
That Blue looks nice as hell on that V30.
You forgot to mention the stupidly placed finger print sensor on the Note 8. It's practically not usable in everyday usage.
Robert Pospichal it's perfect for me. Though maybe in have long fingers
V30!! Gotta love that quad dac!
So when is the V30 going on sale, specifically in Europe? I want one but when can i get it.
LG V30 for me because I am into video more than the S Pen. They are both great phones but ergonomics and video swings it for me.
Loving my V20 after I had to return my Note 7, and I am so getting the V30. I miss you S Pen!! But I love music more.
The v30 does have the one handed feature
Still Rocking my LG V10. it has been a great phone and still is. Might be Upgrading to the V30
You need to make a correction to your video. LG V30 has a one-handed use mode as well.
LG v30 for me.
Wayne Dawkins You deserve it Bro!
Ibrahim Abu Eraq How do you know he deserves it? Are you the Arabi Santa Claus?
Zoro I don't know honestly but I have a lovely day today and I like to share a beautiful comments with everyone
Ibrahim Abu Eraq That's great man. Spread positivity.
I chose the V30, can't wait until I get mine. 🙂
Picking my Moroccan Blue V30 up tomorrow...can't wait
V30 looks like the phone of the year, props to LG, I was going to wait for the Google pixel xl but now that's unlikely. My S7 edge will be my last Samsung phone. Not long now.
Which one would you use to make RUclips videos with and what's the difference.
Definitely V30. Better overall despite the price
johnmade69 so does the note. And , it is a commercial one ....
johnmade69 4:44
that lg software is not the commercial one it is a pre production software and why are u hating on the lg v30 so much???
Ilham Rahman the Note8 was still on pre-production software when reviewers first got them. Was the lag as noticeable as on the V30? Not by a long shot.
Pixel how come you can say it ? Did they told you ? If it was they would have mention it as they did with the V30 . Don't be so Sammy sheep
Tested the Note 8 here. But im so curious to test the LG V30. Seams to be so nice :)
Jörgen Nilsson It is!!
V30 next year when it comes down in price.
Gregor Mima or the year after next year
reports show February is the cheapest month to buy a phone
Next year v40:@
Gregor Mima It's already down in price, half of what the note is
That Blue on the V30 is FIRE!!!
Which one of these two gets the latest os updates longer down the road? And for how many years?
LG V30 is beautiful
which earphone you were using for v30 in the video? the one with the braided cable
Could someone please explain to me why everyone hates lg ui? I don't see anything wrong with it? its it purely that its not pretty?
Lg v30 my dream phone.💗
Watching this on my note 8. Freaking LOVE this phone, was definitely a wise decision to pick up.
V30
V20 here! Love the audio/video capabilities!
V30 for me. Better camera, audio, and video. Easier to operate with one hand too.
µshot_singer LG v30 is only good for video not photos
µshot_singer note 8 has better one handed features
do you guys think that they will improve the front facing camera of the final product?
Short list of issues so far:
-Lagging Audio and Video
-No audio on either Tx or Rx during phone calls (age old issue still plaguing Samsung)
-WiFi doesn't auto-connect and, sometimes, won't connect at all. (Age old issue)
-Data auto-connect doesn't work and will not connect at times. (Age old issue)
-Phone turns on by itself randomly / sporadic power on anomaly.
-wireless charging is sporadic - defective units are being returned already.
thedroidguy.com/2017/10/samsung-galaxy-note-8-lag-recording-video-issue-related-problems-1076817
www.businessinsider.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-problems-2017-8
us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-Note-Phones/Note-8-wireless-charging-issue/td-p/162268
Looks like they've now got display issues - purple tint and dead pixels along with bluetooth issues, scrolling issues, choppy video playback on You Tube, can't remove icons from home screen, face-unlock is failing, yellow tint on display,
While certainly, not a dud, they're not free from defects. The list at Android Authority is growing daily now that people are using the Note 8 devices.
Doesn't the V30 still do one hand mode by swiping across the bottom either direction like the previous models?
Once you pay $1000 dollars for a phone then they will ask for $1500. No Thanks.. V30 last at least 2 hours more and absolutely more customizable in software than Samsung has ever been. No more Samsung for me.. Done after the Note 2.
JAMES J. JEFFERS agree!!. V30 way better
stop trolling on every comment , this is pre-production model
johnmade69 yea trolling in every comment. Stop being a bitch
The v30 is the first phone I have ever seen that I can't wait to preorder. When the Note 8 came out I touched it at an at&t store and moved on completely forgetting it existed.
LG V30 is the near Perfect phone
Rocky Mandal the phone lagged so much in the video and lg phones still suffer from bootloops and quality control issues
tech random tv it's not a final version yet..
Source for "still suffer from bootloops and quality control issues"
Edwin I have a G3, so I know exactly what the "bootloop shit" is all about. I have heard that G6 didnt have that same problem so they may have solved that issue. Atleast I hope so.
Aleksi Nuutila had g3 v20 and now a g6... Never had a bootloop issue
great, what is lg's v30 price with the headphones 64gb?
LG V30 is a better value. Definitely my next phone
I love my Note 8. Have had other LG and Samsung phones and always go back to Samsung. The Note 8 replaces two Note 7's and I am thrilled to have it.
So far it's between the LG V30+ and (LG) Google Pixel 2 XL...and I have an older Note. _I'm tired of Samsung's cloneware and bloatware._
D Jaquith LG v30 was lagging like crazy in the video 6:03
D Jaquith LG v30 literally copies Samsung with all its features and even design
tech random tv
There's at least one LG V30 Vs Note 8 where it's the Note 8 being laggy. What I really want is something like the V30+ and a *clean* Android. So I'm waiting on a V30+ Vs (LG) Google Pixel XL 2 before I buy.
We've had Note 5's wireless charging fail and needing to replace the phones. That's a PITA...
D Jaquith Samsung phones need more ram cause I had the international 6GB of ram s7 with 128GB of storage and zero lag
tech random tv
IMHO for what any of these companies are changing .. at least 6 GB or more RAM and at least 256 GB or more storage.
TheTrulynice1412 i have multi screen on my lg g4 ^^
Bil Mad i had multi-window on my s3 and s4.
I actually thought he was more biased towards the LG. You must have or want the V30. I have the Samsung thus possibly making us both bias as to what we hear eh?
Dual screen is available
I owned Note 8 just because i'm afraid of the bootloop issues of LG phones (happened to both my G4 & V10). Does it still have the same o'l bootloop issue?
oh yeah that blue on the V30
Good fair review. Both great phones. Can't go wrong with Android. Rocking the note 8 this way
V30 wide angle lens and HiFi quad face 😂
does note 8 live focus works in video mode ? if its only works in picture mode then this is not point to give note 8 bcoz v30 also give the same bokeh effect after taking a picture
V30 (Unlocked) for sure...
I have a question:
The V10 and V20 have military grading.
Does the V30 keep that grading?
Or now that it has a fiber glass back loses it!
Pedro Rainha yes it does
Pedro Rainha it has been military tested and idk how durable it is compared to the past V series phones, but it is definately more durable than other flagship phones. Hope that helped
LG V30 by a mile.
I won't need Shaq's fingers to reach the fingerprint scanner.
Brynner P have you heard the Irish scanner. Cough lg bootloop.
phoenix_86 salty. Cough cough *explosion*
You guys be over exaggerating the finger print scanner placement lol.
Heng Theng Lol has the V30 bootlooped?
antione english if it wasn't a big deal, it wouldn't be widely known.
Have used samsung for about 4 years and thi V30 will be my 1st non Samsung phone!!! Very exited
I like the V30😍
I 'm a Note fan and get a new one every year. Tried the LG V20 last year when I had to give up my Note 7. Nice phone, great sound, didn't like the camera. Missed my Note, so now I have the Note 8 and totally love it. I do use the s pen continually, though.
