Can't believe, me an Apple fanboy is gonna buy this over the iPhone X. Sorry Apple, but you're just not in the game anymore. EDIT: I got a Note 8, Thanks for the likes
I have the note 8 and I have to say I LOVE IT! I upgraded from the s7 edge and was surprised at how much of an improvement it was! The s pen is great and I never thought I'd use it but I find myself constantly pulling it out, the magnify feature definitely comes in handy. Also the camera's are AMAZING! It truly is an epic phone!
Everyone's got there own opinion I had the iPhone 4, 4S, and the 5 and they just got old for me and I needed a change up. Also I refuse to support a company that sells overpriced and inferior computers and markets them as the best...
I upgraded from the Note 4 to the Note 8 and I have to say, it was worth it. I'm a student and the S Pen comes in super handy when the prof just spits out due dates and assignments, etc. Super handy for students
Keith Leung I miss the old designs though add removable back and ir blaster though. Yes i know. The new SoC is far superior and the camera and stuff. And the new glass designs are elegant and all.
Jack Skellington I would say the only downside to a unibody design is the ability to just pop out the battery for a new one when it dies...but you're kinda forced to go with unibody designs cuz they don't make removable backs anymore
Johannah Morales I would say the battery life is decent. I'm a mid to heavy user but the battery life just doesn't live up to the hype that the note series used to have
The perfect travelling setup for an Entrepreneur:- 1) Note 8 2) Microsoft Surface Book 2 3) A Backpack (I Leave it to you guys, comment what u like to use) 4) A battery pack ( Again I leave it to u guys, reply) 5) Earphones/Headphones (Left to u guys, reply)
Gavin Crowley It can. iPad is made to run iPhone Apps, and its perfect for games, social nerworks and looks stunning while doing that because of the 120 Hz Screen. You have to see it in person, and after using it you won't be able to look at the Surfaces screen because compared to the iPad it looks so laggy. Also iPad is perfect for drawing, much better than a surface. I'd take the iPhone X because it's better than the Note 8. Sure it's more expensive, here in Germany it costs 1150€ compared to 880€ in the US. I'd not buy it in person, but it would be my dream phone. Screen looks better, is better, Performance and Power is much better, camera is better, better battery, MUCH better OS, I hate Samsungs Experience UI (my S7 Edge lagged horribly after 2 months, my at that time 2 year old iPhone didn't lag at all, with 3GB Ram less and 2cores instead of 8) So yeah I'd take Apple.
Captain_ Cole my 6s came out the same year as the S6 and have noticed it’s slowed down ever since (was one on the first people to have a 6s) :/// wish I got the S6 edge +
My Z3C has slowed down considerably over the 2 years of updates it got (suspect it's also due to the apps becoming more bloated as well) whereas with the two iPhones I had before (5 and 3GS), apart from how it felt a little slower due to more animation, overall it felt more or less the same. Personal experience differs so...yeah?
If Samsung had put the fingerprint scanner in the proper place, gave us front firing stereo speakers, a IR blaster, a bigger battery, a wide angle lens on the camera and a Quad Dac they would have made the perfect smartphone
Yann Gorski I would like to see what galaxy note 9 will bring to the table. Will it have bigger battery!?.. Also what is worth money, galaxy S9+ or note 9 that are the real question.
Vernon Warren we'll also be getting Stereo Speakers now! We're close on Samsung jumping on Quad DAC but I think they want to wait for 2019 flagships for that.
Surprisingly I always get close to 7 hours of screen time on! And it has been very consistent. Brightness is usually between 50%-75% and I very heavily use my Note 8. Game, browse, RUclips, heavy messaging and social media.
You're one of the reviewers who is ignorant of the fact that Bixby is more for instructional tasks, whereas Google Assistant is for general queries. E.g. ask Google Assistant to open Play Store and install an app, and it doesn't do it. In short, stop thinking "Bixby vs Google Assistant", and instead think "Bixby & Google Assistant". When you come to peace with this, you'll feel more powerful.
Philip Wong trying too hard to feeling good about purchasing a Samsung device? You are in denial, Samsung doesn't even encourage to use both, what makes you belive you are even close to right about using both?
Sakitech has some awesome tutorials for the clueless. Bixby is excellent at what it does. It's not there compared with Assistant when querying out of context (yet), but then Assistant has no clue about how to interact with your device like Bixby does. That's why they complement each other right now. I've actually replaced Assistant with Bixby, but as one of the top 2500 users in the world, I know how to put it into context for just about everything. Nothing like using Bixby to fully control and use Google apps. 😁
Every reviewer keeps complaining about the fingerprint sensor next to the camera. Because of that I was very sceptical about it and thought I would not use it, however, I literally got the phone yesterday and I'm already used to it. It's really not that difficult to reach and once you get a hang of it, it becomes very easy and natural. Oh and by the way, fingerprint sensor is much better than the one on Google Pixel. And a lot faster too.
Due to banks having there say I can't use finger print scanner to unlock phone as it brakes Android pay after 5 uses (forces backup code password to reset the 5 tokens )
I have seen many a cell phone review channels, some so irritating they are almost unbearable to get thru. I was so impressed by your natural self I thought I was chillin with some tech heads, smoothly spoken, all bases covered, questions I needed answered and some I had not even thought of. Liked your approach so much I subscribed to more of your videos, I only have maybe 7 I subscribe to so that speaks volumes. I have two sons who love their phones, computers and x boxes, play stations and anything tech. I got the Galaxy S8+ my son waited till about 10 days ago to get that Note 8, I love the Notes having owned the Note 2, my friend took that loves it still, go figure, Note 4, nephew just took that, lol. Then I got the S7 edge late cause of the battery issue with the Note 7, thus my other friend took the S7 Edge, leaving me with this S8 +, which has not one issue other than it is smarter than its owner. Wished I had waited till the Note * only cause yes I do love the pen. Not sure if I will even upgrade to the S9. I am turning 60 this November turkey day and I can tell you how lucky young people are today to have these very powerful tools, & techno gadgets . Be Good
finally a honest review of the note 8 and good job stumbled on your channel subbed and for now wainting for the price to drop to 800 euros then i will put my grubby hands on that sweet note 8 POWA
This phone is A BEAST. I can't get it off my hands since i bought it... this is the phone that has made me addicted to it. Is super speedy voice assistants work super smooth and s pen makes it more incredible as this phone is a king of multitasking.
This was an excellent video! I've been looking for this type of product review for a long time, and now all of a sudden you guys upload it. A long video going in depth about the product and how it is to actually use it. It was paced really well, shot really well, the music was on point and it was narrated really well. I'm blown away guys. The phone looks great, the camera especially. However the battery life is not acceptable at all for me. This phone is already large, but add to that a battery bank a and a phone case and suddenly my pocket space isn't what it used to be.
What’s the damn fixation with “Samsung phones slow down over time” thing? I used S2, S4 and S6 each for 2 years and a NOT single one slowed down! Granted I maintain my phones and do not keep tons of trash apps downloaded. I have on my phone what I need and have never faced any slowdowns.
S6 edge user, yeah I stopped using Nova Launcher, disabled and uninstalled a bunch of apps that I didn't need and it still runs great after 2 years and will probably still run great for another 2 (depends if the s9 or note 9 are worth upgrading to) although I still haven't finished tweaking my phone, that's the thing I love about android is the immense customisation that you can continue to make your phone new and refreshing or optimise it to it's full potential
Jyothar Singh exactly my thoughts. It gets on my nerves when people randomly keep saying Samsung phones slow down. All phones slow down over time, its a depreciating asset. Jeez 🙄
"Samsung phones are known to slow down" I also disagree with this nonsense In fact, *Every* phone slows down later down the road if you fill up more than 30% of your internal memory, even iPhone and Stock Android.... I've used Nexus phones and I'm still using iPhone so I know they lag for fact. That is mainly the reason why iPhone and Pixel will not allow 3rd party memory like MicroSD slots. Is this guy really a tech reviewer?
Went from my note 5 to the note 8. Got the note 5 used for $230. Ended up preordering the note 8, so I got the following. $150 off from best buy and $480 note 5 trade-in, and a new gear 360 free. In the end I'm only paying $310 for a brand new note 8. I love the phone. Yes it has some small issues, but nothing that's a deal breaker in any way. Love the battery life and the overall performance of the phone.
Ahmed Ghazoul Seriously. He did mention afterwards about the color settings. But only after he implied it is not accurate. And then inaccurately implied color accuracy is a matter of technology rather than calibration on any display. And implied that not only are ips displays the only way to be accurate but that most of them are. When most have saturated colours and high white points. And where is lacking contrast, and showing grey in place of black while showing a 7k or higher white and delta of 4-10 accurate?
Great review, good perspective !! Finally putting my note 3 to bed, shes been a SOLID performer over the past several years, looking forward to playing with the note 8 in a few days.
I had a s6 edge+ for 2 years and it never slowed down.. i got the note8 now. I wish samsung made the note8 in titanium silver. Cuz i loved that color from my s6 edge+. I also get 13 hours of heavy usage with my note8
manish rajani ofcourse its worth it... it has a spen and 6gb ram and upgraded SoC and it has a SD card slot and its water resistant. you can swim with it and shower and it has iris scanner and bigger screen and battery and best camera of the phone ever made and believe me you dont want a S series if you have ever had a note before or s6 edge+... edge+ is a note but without the sPen.. I wanted to buy Note5 but they didnt sell it in the EU
I have had the s8 plus for over 6 months now and I love it! Everything functions properly. Haven't had any major issues. The camera is amazing and the software works smoothly.
It all depends where he grew up. I'm Indian from South Africa and my English accent is better than his. But Indians from India have a strong accent cos English is not their home language. But that's natural. Those not from India have learned other countries accent of english
+Emiliano Jimenez If you're a tech noob, any phone will slow down for you. Although *every* phone will have a hiccup here and there. My iPhone is starting to do that nowadays
+Kasugano Sora You can't deny that Apple makes the best tablets among all brands when it comes to fluidity of the OS, but popularity of tablet kind of died when Samsung started the phablet trend IMO
Great video. I appreciate the honest and layman commentary. I am getting one of these next week from work. Had the option of an S8+, iPhone 7, or Note 8. This video made my choice. Thanks!
Not sure why you wanted to interview and review the Note 8 since you don't seem to like it. I love the note series and think N 8 is fantastic, much better than the S7 Edge that I traded in. Stock Google is boring to me, but in fact Google has added so many features it looks more like Samsung all the time. Same thing for iOS. It has copied Google and Samsung so much it looks like an Android phone now. But if you don't use the S Pen and don't like those features, you should not buy it the Note 8. And I agree with some of the other remarks I have seen here. I've never had the slow down and lags that all you people are talking about. I've had all the note phones since the Note 2 to 4, and everything worked just fine.
Seriously. Hell my only issue I would have if i still used a note2 would be missing my newer camera tech. The note 2 has only recently been getting outpaced by phones you can buy at store. And still has better headphone audio than any snapdragon device. Even the s7 and I'm assuming s8 and note 8.
You are totally right. Google and Apple have all been playing catch up to Samsung. most innovations has been made by Samsung. Split Screen has been in samsung since the note 2. You see old features of samsung making its way to Iphone and google. it's so funny when these tech reviewers say they prefer stock android to Samsungs' skin. I always laugh when i hear that. There is no User Experience that is as good as touchwiz right now. They all wait for Samsung to realease their phones first so they can copy and play catchup.
Nipun Sharma the thing is all phones lagged some. Especially years ago. Just everyone wants to deny it And talk shit. IPhones sure as hell had a fair share of lag even despite all the denial. Its a part of reality
I've had the Note 8 for close to 2 months and love it so far. I get a full day of moderately heavy usage on 1 battery charge. Haven't really used Bixby much yet. I really like the fingerprint access and camera. Now my laptop, tablet and phone can all be synced for my real estate business.
I got the note 8 about a month ago and so far I love it. I was worried about the fingerprint scanner but all it takes is a slight variance in how you grab the phone and it's lightning quick and can be unlocked from the always on display.
Love my Samsung Galaxy Note 8! Battery is good so no complains so far. My previous note 5 battery was a disaster. Started draining after just 6 months of use. Galaxy note 8 on the other hand is gorgeous to look at, love the feel of the size and the s pen is a blast. My fav is the smart select. Yet to explore the phone thoroughly. Your video is great and yes I have disabled Bixby!
I am your new subscriber. That was a very detailed (not concentrating on the minutiae) explanation. Keep up the good work. Really helps in decision making. Cheers!
I feel Samsung has solved the slowdown problem since Android 5.1.1 or 6.0.1. I am using a J5 2015 and have almost no issues with the interface slowing down...it only shows very slight delay when I switch between a lot of apps(even when i have chrome open with 84 tabs it still handles fairly well)
GaOn I have never used android for a while now. what make android slow down is visiting porn sites and other movie sites. If you are doing this and your device is still working then you have a point
I'm still using my Note 3 from 2013 and it still works well. This year, after 4 years the battery life is starting to be inconsistent (sometimes it can be used half a day) and I'm starting to experience a slight lag/delay this year. After watching this video, I think I'll choose Note 8 besides my first choice of choosing Iphone 8 plus. Side note: I'm a constant phone user; i use my phone to contact, watching youtube videos/movies and a lot of social media.
Love the note 8. Bixby tho is buggy and slow compared to google assistant. Waiting for samsung to roll out an update to make that bixby button mapable to some other app
not gonna happen. they put the button there to force u into using bixby instead of google assistant. they will instead roll out an update to block the app to remap it.
I use Bixby on a daily basis for different purpose. It is way too slow but it does things that google assistant don't. So, basically I rely on both of them daily. Google assistant is mainly for my home automation.
They have an option to turn it off if you don't want to use Bixby. Button goes nowhere but they're not forcing you to use it if you accidentally press the button when it's off.
This is al really great video! You have a pleasant voice to listen to and you explain the phone in great detail. You even show us audio samples and pictures taken by the phone! My Compliments!!
I have my Note 3 since it was released and... it never disappoints. Speed is just like it was on the first day. Never suffered from slowdown. Fell many times on various surfaces, but he never broke. These days I'm looking for Note 8 and it is definitely my choice. So if you ask me... just go for Note series. Cheers!
Have the Note 8 and love it. I haven't experienced any slow downs. Never experienced any slow downs or lags with any Samsung phones I've had in the past and ive owned the S2, Note 3 (had it for 4 years), S7 edge (twice), Note 7 (twice) and the S8. I had the LG V10 which went out on me and never came back on. That was a great phone.
My battery life has varied too honestly but I have so many chargers laying about at work and home that it doesn't bother me. As for paying for the phone, I traded my Note 5 and knocked $480 off the price tag of the Note 8 with Verizon. That's a deal anyone would be silly to pass on. All in all, it's been an amazing time with my Note 8.
Vikas Poonia you can buy the Note 8 or wait for the S9/S9+ that will be out in a month. The presentation will be this month on February 25th. Might as well wait till the S9/S9+ comes out so you see what it can offer.
Had mine for a couple weeks and totally worth it for me personally, replaced my S7 edge but also my 5 year old iPad so not having to buy a new tablet is great. The stylus is really neat, great for table top interaction and the screen is just glorious. Audio quality through the headphone jack is also much improved so I don't need to carry around my old iPod nano anymore. I have the huge Samsung protective case on it, only got it because the store didn't have any of the Alcantara covers in yet but I surprisingly enjoy this case a lot, having a kickstand with this massive screen is a joy! It's also surprisingly easy to use one handed considering it's relatively narrow for the screen size My main gripe is that it is noticably slower to charge than my S7 edge on my portable charger which I use every day at work. The fingerprint sensor is annoying but much less so than I anticipated. There's no more option to change the color of the navigation bar on the bottom to a custom one, I wish I could change it to pure black to match the face and my keyboard. The only thing I can fault about the design is I personally prefer having the front and back glass match, wanted the gold one like my S6 and S7 were but I personally don't see the point if the only gold part of the phone would be covered up. On the whole though I'm loving this thing
well..i got note 8 just recently and got so so screen of time which is 5 hours something then i read a lot forum about note 8 battery life then i realize the biggest culprit about battery is no other than google itself after turn off find my device and google activity apps got consistent 7 hours screen on time now thks to forum xda..
Hey, I'm planning on buying the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for Christmas. I wanna ask the people who already have the Note 8, is it worth it? What are your thoughts & impressions with the phone?
Thinking of upgrading my existing Note 3 to the Note 8 but the price has me gagging. I'd have to get two (wife) and that's $2k just for phones. Crazy prices there just for phones.
Thanks. I'm still not happy how the prices keep going up on these smart phones. Last time I paid $620 for a Note 3. I'm just not feeling the extra costs are worth the newer features. Price vs value just seems not to be there. Just my own opinion of course.
I stumbled on your video while searching for this phone review.. I was thrilled watching u.. The sound was so good,i stayed till the end. I plan to start RUclips channel someday but the cost of getting good camera and making videos with good sounds keeps me stuck to where I am. What do you advice? Plssss..
well in my country the price is 5k plus, with the average salary around 900/month that phone is out of option for average people here, so note 4 is the best for me, note 5 dont even have sd card,
Alright, it does look great and it packs quite possibly the best hardware combination of all smartphones available, but its ginormous pricetag for the 64GB variant and the exemption of most colours and storage capacities around the world makes this a really difficult smartphone to recommend to anyone (i absolutely love the S-Pen, i had a Note 4 and i know what it feels like, but that phone was so unreliable and faulty to me - long story, but i had to switch twice and eventually had to give up on aquiring any Note 4 as a replacement - and i really do miss them). If you really want a Note device, go for it but software is where the game is focused now and nothing will ever beat the Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL :( and i really want one now... Gah, if Samsung made unlocked models without restrictions and clean software, i would instantly buy one.
Yes but i meant without bloatware as duplicated applications and with a software update cycle (including security patches) as concurrently as Google does with the Pixel lineup; but i know that is an impossible dream -.-
Diogo well I happen to actually like Samsung's local aproach to software and they don't force it on you as much these days. Ex: music application is an optional download. Any who cool.
Diogo Sorry for your issues with the note 4 but that was not mine and others. And yes it's costly. But so is almost every other flagship out there later. The difference is that while Samsung costs more the s8 and note 8 are the only ones actually giving the tech and software worthy of costing more. Their devices require more time and money into both hardware and software. Especially considering they build a lot of the hardware. Not to mention the sales and freebies they had going with it. And every unit comes with a free $100 set of esrbuds that destroys those crap Bluetooth ones crapple and Google are trying to force one you. Everything else is just cutting corners and charging more. The v30 was announced at a $200 cheaper price... though by time it was actually available was more like $150... And it's still more over priced for the corners they cut and what is offered in comparison. And the pixel????? Almost the same price with single cam. One that is a shrunken sensor, less quality display and ram, same storage and no expandability, no headset jack, no wireless charging, weaker protection, etc etc. And in software Samsung is ahead. They by far have the most advanced ui. And yes there is bloat which sucks. But their are unlocked versions. And many people actually prefer their apps to the stock ones. Their music and internet ones and such. And with the Note8 the speed is neck and neck with the most stock and basic of software's like one plus and pixel. Sometimes a bit faster. And that's with all their extra features, functionality, and usability. And Google only now made the promise to update for three years. Hasn't done it before nor has it been done yet. And like most others the Samsung phone technically already has most of the features and then some. So yes goggle gets faster more direct updates. But Samsung already us ahead in ui of others while you wait. So it's a give and take. And their devices take more time and money to update and they have more devices. People need to consider the whole picture. Though yes.. they could definitely work on that. So yeah. The note 8 is expensive. But it's the only thing more justified of the higher price compared to others. The pixel is simply unreasonably priced. Obviously not as bad as crapple. But still up there. The only way to fairly claim this is to comparing to mid range and mid cost flagships. Other wise Samsung is on another level.
@Jack Skellington you are totally right. When you buy the note8 you are buying a phone that is worth it. Google just plays catch up with samsung. Some features you see in googles updated OS has been in samsung for years. Samsung Note 8 is the best phone of the year and by a distance. It is a full package. It is like buying a Mercedes S63 AMG. you get IP68 water and dust resistance, wireless charging, latest bluetooth, headphones worth $100, Samsung security, dropbox, expandable storage. Google took out the headphone jack just so they could sell their useless wireless earbuds.
I bought the Note 8 when it came out. I have owned the Original Note, the Note 3 and the Note 4. This is by far and away my favorite. The camera is wonderful but the screen is fantastic. I have found that I get better battery life by turning down the brightness and resolution. I keep a charger in the car and it charges very fast so I never seem to run all the way down but I have gotten below 50% a couple of times. I have not noticed any slow down in performance. I got the Note because of the S-Pen. What a wonderful feature. I use the on-screen note feature often, the screen write a lot and the Smart Select. The smart select is amazing, it will pick the text out of a picture, I've never seen anything like it. I did have a problem with my Note 8 a little over a year after purchase but while T-Mobile didn't offer to help Samsung replaced the phone for free. The power management chip failed and they said it was too much trouble to repair. I really like this phone a lot. Being without it waiting for the new phone to arrive just about killed me. This is really a beautiful, fast, full function device, I love it. I haven't even considered looking at the Note 9 yet, I have hardly learned all the features of the Note 8.
The glass back complaint is silly, because who in the right mind wouldn't immdiately put on a skin or case to protect their very expensive investment, for any smartphone really. I've had a case and screen protector on my Moto X Pure since day one. I've had the phone for 2 years now. I've dropped it a few times and gone through 5 screen protectors, but remove them and the case and the phone looks like it was just unboxed. Speaking of Motorola, they've gone from one of the best with updates to one of the worst. The MXP is STILL running Android 6.0 and the update 7.0 (not 7.1.1) that supposedly went live at the end of September has yet to reach my phone. Meanwhile, the gf's Nexus 5x is already running Oreo. My next phone will be a Pixel.
hanyoukimura Just because you're going to use a case doesn't mean we all have to be happy with glass. Or that it won't still crack for sure anyway. And all the hindering and expense glass backs bring. Plus for them both being nearly the same price I 99% guarantee the note 8 is way more with your time and money. As it offers far more and is superior in almost every way.
Jack Skellington Unless the best software experience, fast updates, project Fi, the best camera on the market and a mostly metal back are important to you. ;)
I've dropped mine a couple times and was glad to have a case protecting it. I've also gone through several screen protectors. I use it a lot for taking reference photos when working in cars, so is bound to get dinged and dirty... the stuff protecting it that is. Underneath the phone still looks new. Some people can manage to not protect the phone and keep it undamaged and bully for them, I'd rather protect my investment from both the environment and my own slip ups. But hey, finally running Android Nougat :)
I just got the Note 8. Have not picked it up. I previously had the Note 4 for over 2 years and it was a really good phone. I tried to upgrade to the Note 5 but we all know how that ended. So I settled for an S7 edge last fall. But I always liked the Note series and missed the pen. They have improved the pen functionality so much and this Note 8 has awesome specs so it was a no-brainer for me to upgrade to the Note 8. Looking forward to using this fantastic phone.
Nice review! I find the speaker blocking a nice feature actually when you have an unwanted notification or call xD Battery wise, I personally get about 5-7 SOT with a whole day of medium to heavy use. Battery is very solid. Performance is great as well and those cameras * . *
I've had the Galaxy Note 4 since 2014, it was great while it lasted but as of now it's unusable. As expected of an old phone, it's slowed down so much its impossible to even type a message, turns off randomly, even on a full charge (despite trying three different batteries, one of which was brand new), and cant run apps at all (I open snapchat, and boom, the phone is off.) I don't hold anything against samsung or notes in general because i know that they slow down after a few years, and ive had mine for a long time, and used it very intensely. I've been saving up for a new phone, and i'm on board with the note 8, despite its price. I'm an artist, so i draw and doodle constantly, which is why I got the note 4 in the first place. The S Pen has always been my favorite feature, I cant have a phone without one! Thanks for a great, in depth review. I'm even more excited for my note 8 now!
MrMentalSoul lmao not to be rude, but it's consumers like you who don't punish companies with their wallets that perpetuate these problems. Removing A FEATURE, and calling that a feature in itself is mentally fucking ill. Its corporate propaganda which I don't know why so many including you, have just eaten up. Nothing, I repeat nothing is wrong with the headphone jack. The fact that there's ONLY ONE FUCKING PORT on a phone that REQUIRES a dongle just to fucking use the vast amount of Headphones, earphones, on the market and ones I already own is downright RIDICULOUS. And in addition, there's only ONE PORT. NOT TWO. It's genuinely hilarious. Oh what if I want to charge my phone AND listen to music. New phones are supposed to ADD better features that make the phone easier to function, not another fucking obstacle like a dongle. There's more to be said, but this isn't the place to expand upon it. There are articles that do though, Google it mate
James Davern let's not forget that you waste the ports lifespan of its doing double the work! I'm an audiophile, I want to use my Amp/DAC and very pricy wired headsets, and if I'm going to blow almost a grand on a cellphone it better damn well have that jack!
Note8 is amazing. It costs $900 and has headphones, adapters, fast charging brick with cable that supports wireless charging. I can't imagine a phone for around $1000 without headphones, fast charging bricks and cables. Imagine last year Samsung was working hard on the DEX which is included in pre-order version. And what apple was working on? New emojis. For a $1000 phone.
Can't believe, me an Apple fanboy is gonna buy this over the iPhone X.
Sorry Apple, but you're just not in the game anymore.
EDIT: I got a Note 8, Thanks for the likes
MrMoizz I feel you. I was supposed to get the X, but I was like fuck it. Note 8 is life
+couldnt choose a username me too. I buying a Note 8 this Wednesday. I waited so long for the new iPhone and it was just... meh.
Same
Same Here
Ok guys 3 weeks Later I changed my mind. I am gonna buy the iPhone X
Alex The Average soon as the X comes out no one will care about Samsung phones
ClayDog sadly, that thing is overpriced af
Everyone's got there own opinion I had the iPhone 4, 4S, and the 5 and they just got old for me and I needed a change up. Also I refuse to support a company that sells overpriced and inferior computers and markets them as the best...
Alex The Average I'm waiting for the s9+! Waiting to see what's that's about!
ClayDog different target customers. If someone buys a note phone for productivity, it’s unlikely they will be interested in an iPhone.
Hi what can you say about the battery life? The video mentioned that it may cause inconvenience for heavy phone users.
Keith Leung I know. It won't have anything soon. You expect down the road. But not already
Johannah Morales I would say the battery life is decent. I'm a mid to heavy user but the battery life just doesn't live up to the hype that the note series used to have
I've owned the S2, S4, Note 5, and now the Note 8. The 8 is by far the best Samsung phone I've ever had. Fantastic.
Luigiz28 you miss the S3... I truly believe it was THE PHONE. Currently I have the S7 edge, and waiting for my Note 8 to arrive!!
José Gutiérrez I did! I ungrade my phone every two years or so. You're going to love the Note8. I've had it for almost a month and it's so good
Luigiz28 Did you try Note 7?
No I did not.
Luigiz28 how does the n8 compare to the n5? I have the n5 but considering the n8.
The perfect travelling setup for an Entrepreneur:-
1) Note 8
2) Microsoft Surface Book 2
3) A Backpack (I Leave it to you guys, comment what u like to use)
4) A battery pack ( Again I leave it to u guys, reply)
5) Earphones/Headphones (Left to u guys, reply)
A Hardworking Guy
I'd rather get:
1) iPhone X
2) iPad Pro 10.5 + Pencil
3) Surface Book 2 (I agree its awesome)
4) Backpack
5) AirPods
VΞΝΘΜTM Ipad pro cant do anything surface can't besides the $100 pencil, and I dont see the appeal in the iphone x.
Gavin Crowley
It can. iPad is made to run iPhone Apps, and its perfect for games, social nerworks and looks stunning while doing that because of the 120 Hz Screen.
Screen looks better, is better, Performance and Power is much better, camera is better, better battery, MUCH better OS, I hate Samsungs Experience UI (my S7 Edge lagged horribly after 2 months, my at that time 2 year old iPhone didn't lag at all, with 3GB Ram less and 2cores instead of 8)
So yeah I'd take Apple.
Note 8
Surface book
Back pack I don't know
Battery pack - check zerolemon
Headphones check bose quiet comfort
I prefer Note 8, Tab Pro S and condoms.
Having owned a few (from the s4 onwards)over the years I can say with certainty that I haven't suffered from slowdown since the s6.
Captain_ Cole I've never had slow down with Android. I've had iOS twice and had slow down both times
Captain_ Cole my s7 edge definitely slowed down
Captain_ Cole my 6s came out the same year as the S6 and have noticed it’s slowed down ever since (was one on the first people to have a 6s) :/// wish I got the S6 edge +
I have the J7 prime. It doesn't slowdown either.
Thanks mate, been waiting to see this one!

If Samsung had put the fingerprint scanner in the proper place, gave us front firing stereo speakers, a IR blaster, a bigger battery, a wide angle lens on the camera and a Quad Dac they would have made the perfect smartphone
Vernon Warren they fixed the fingerprint scanner on the s9 and the s9+
Yann Gorski that's good to know
Yann Gorski I would like to see what galaxy note 9 will bring to the table.
Note 9 is the perfect smartphone now then? Haha
Surprisingly I always get close to 7 hours of screen time on! And it has been very consistent. Brightness is usually between 50%-75% and I very heavily use my Note 8. Game, browse, RUclips, heavy messaging and social media.
But this youtuber is saying he's getting 3 hours to 3.5 hours from the Galaxy Note 8 😓
Exynoss variant is power efficient bro
meh not that efficient on exynos my previous 7 plus still doing better under same usage little disappointed
Saqif Rahman Same here 6.7 hrs last night and 2 days of use easily. These battery life's reported by reviewer I can them BS not true at all!!
David Stone You're one of only two people I've heard claim this. It must be a different usage pattern or just something with your devices
David Escalante You don't know what each is capable of, do you?
(That's a rhetorical question)
Sakitech has some awesome tutorials for the clueless. Bixby is excellent at what it does. It's not there compared with Assistant when querying out of context (yet), but then Assistant has no clue about how to interact with your device like Bixby does. That's why they complement each other right now. I've actually replaced Assistant with Bixby, but as one of the top 2500 users in the world, I know how to put it into context for just about everything. Nothing like using Bixby to fully control and use Google apps. 😁
Philip Wong I’m actually surprised by the bixby, i thought it was another useless gimmick. But it actually pretty good
Philip Wong Bixby sucks.
It should be under the camera
Well for most people it's a bad place making more convenient to just set up a password
Due to banks having there say I can't use finger print scanner to unlock phone as it brakes Android pay after 5 uses (forces backup code password to reset the 5 tokens )
lee x use Samsung pay then
exisskrk does that work on none samsung phones
I have seen many a cell phone review channels, some so irritating they are almost unbearable to get thru.
I was so impressed by your natural self I thought I was chillin with some tech heads, smoothly spoken, all bases covered, questions I needed answered and some I had not even thought of.
Liked your approach so much I subscribed to more of your videos, I only have maybe 7 I subscribe to so that speaks volumes.
I have two sons who love their phones, computers and x boxes, play stations and anything tech. I got the Galaxy S8+ my son waited till about 10 days ago to get that Note 8,
I love the Notes having owned the Note 2, my friend took that loves it still, go figure, Note 4, nephew just took that, lol.
Marcos Silva Amazon already sells it for 850
This phone is A BEAST. I can't get it off my hands since i bought it... this is the phone that has made me addicted to it. Is super speedy voice assistants work super smooth and s pen makes it more incredible as this phone is a king of multitasking.
You guys could make a video about paint drying and would still watch for the smexy broll seriously love the cinamatography you guys create
It is nice to see that someone does phone reviews properly, not just reading specs! Keep the good work!
To answer your question about the s8. No, I have not yet experience any lag.
Leon Camero The bloatware will weigh it down eventually 👀
Tristan Zipp not my S5, after 3 years😍😝
S8 is my first Samsung device after S2 and have been pleasantly surprised so far. Though I did go extra mile and disabled most of bloatware.
Tristan Zipp I don't have those.
Manish Lall Same here. Plus I changed my system's performance and animation for apps. Works flawlessly.
Abhirup Majumdar same!!!! S5 user here😊
S6 edge user, yeah I stopped using Nova Launcher, disabled and uninstalled a bunch of apps that I didn't need and it still runs great after 2 years and will probably still run great for another 2 (depends if the s9 or note 9 are worth upgrading to) although I still haven't finished tweaking my phone, that's the thing I love about android is the immense customisation that you can continue to make your phone new and refreshing or optimise it to it's full potential
Jyothar Singh thank you!!!😂
Jyothar Singh exactly my thoughts. It gets on my nerves when people randomly keep saying Samsung phones slow down. All phones slow down over time, its a depreciating asset. Jeez 🙄
"Samsung phones are known to slow down"
I also disagree with this nonsense
In fact, *Every* phone slows down later down the road if you fill up more than 30% of your internal memory, even iPhone and Stock Android.... I've used Nexus phones and I'm still using iPhone so I know they lag for fact. That is mainly the reason why iPhone and Pixel will not allow 3rd party memory like MicroSD slots. Is this guy really a tech reviewer?
I LOVE my Note 8! Everything is done perfectly on this device, battery life is satisfying for me as well. Thanks for this great video! Keep it up!!
i absolutely love the Note 8, i use the spen everyday , every hour, a must for me. battery life is ok i guess
Dan S what issues?
mm boi what issues 👌 i don't want to pay $1k to find out
Calling for an IPS is just pushing it man, criticism is good but keep it real. Love your videos btw
40Tman same
With battery life
I agree I get good battery life with my note 8
40Tman do you think it's worth it? I'm using a s6 edge+ and not sure if upgrading to n8 is worth it. I can also just wait n see what the s9 offers
manish rajani ofcourse its worth it... it has a spen and 6gb ram and upgraded SoC and it has a SD card slot and its water resistant. you can swim with it and shower and it has iris scanner and bigger screen and battery and best camera of the phone ever made and believe me you dont want a S series if you have ever had a note before or s6 edge+... edge+ is a note but without the sPen.. I wanted to buy Note5 but they didnt sell it in the EU
I have had the s8 plus for over 6 months now and I love it! Everything functions properly. Haven't had any major issues. The camera is amazing and the software works smoothly.
I've been using Samsung Galaxy Note 8 since January 2018, and I really love it. I think I won't upgrade until Samsung Galaxy Note 15 lol 😂
Where has this channel been my whole life!!! 😍😍 Awesome clean video dude
Finally.. an indian that sounds natural .thumbs up man .not racist cause i am an indian as well
Vinnan Rao I think you are bring a bit racist there
Indian isnt a race
It all depends where he grew up. I'm Indian from South Africa and my English accent is better than his.
But Indians from India have a strong accent cos English is not their home language.
But that's natural.
Those not from India have learned other countries accent of english
stop being a chutiya
Aaaachaa
A very unbiased and genuine review! Really appreciate it !
Had my note 5 for 2years+ no lags at all
Kasugano Sora we all know that's bs, even the S8 has a few slow downs every once in a while
Not sure about the others but I can tell that my phone did not slow down. Only the battery is draining very fast and couldn't last for a day.
+Emiliano Jimenez
If you're a tech noob, any phone will slow down for you. Although *every* phone will have a hiccup here and there. My iPhone is starting to do that nowadays
True, my mum's iPhone 6 is very laggy, it takes few seconds to open camera. My iPad air 1st gen is still very fast tho, so I don't know anymore.
+Kasugano Sora
You can't deny that Apple makes the best tablets among all brands when it comes to fluidity of the OS, but popularity of tablet kind of died when Samsung started the phablet trend IMO
I've had all the note phones since the Note 2 to 4, and everything worked just fine.
exactly Bria, some people just look for things to downplay the Note8
Yeah and Motorola was a big fail I should have saved my money the z2 force was same price at the time
What's the launcher setup and icon pack used ?
I've had the Note 8 for close to 2 months and love it so far. I get a full day of moderately heavy usage on 1 battery charge. Haven't really used Bixby much yet. I really like the fingerprint access and camera. Now my laptop, tablet and phone can all be synced for my real estate business.
What wallpaper and icon pack is that?
Bought my S8+ last April and haven't seen any slowing down of apps or the OS. I will be buying the Note 9!
Every time I hear "put on a skin", automatically expect a dbrand promotion. Thank god not this time, they've dominated RUclips tech channels.
Xiyang Chen me too 😂😂😂😂
I got the note 8 about a month ago and so far I love it. I was worried about the fingerprint scanner but all it takes is a slight variance in how you grab the phone and it's lightning quick and can be unlocked from the always on display.
The Samsung galaxy note is the KING OF SMARTPHONE
Right bro
@Desmond Verheiden Yeah i got screen burn in 1 mounth of using it
@Desmond Verheiden yes this sucks very much that we pay a grand for our smartphones and theyre screens get burned after 1 to 3 mounths
Gt
Love my Samsung Galaxy Note 8! Battery is good so no complains so far. My previous note 5 battery was a disaster. Started draining after just 6 months of use. Galaxy note 8 on the other hand is gorgeous to look at, love the feel of the size and the s pen is a blast. My fav is the smart select. Yet to explore the phone thoroughly. Your video is great and yes I have disabled Bixby!
this video looked great on the note 8
William Chalmi That doesn't slow down your phone. That whole I visited porn and got a virus thing is propaganda
Same here with a j5 2015 and lag is rare
Is not fast but it dont lag
Good phone for its price
Kanishck Tewatia the presence in no way impedes your ability to press and hold your home button.
OsHi Bixby 2.0 coming next week Oct 18th.
You guys wanna hear a joke
IPhone x
Sagar Nanda it's a hell of a lot faster than this phone... Camera is probably better too, and better audio 👀
no
Tristan Zipp doesn't the x have the same A11 chip as the 8? The Note 8 is faster than the 8 on real world use somehow
You wanna see a joke ? See yourself
Lol
Hey man awesome video. Loved the way you set up your phone. What theme and icon pack did you download? Thanks.
As a college student the S pen has made taking notes very easy especially if I can't have my laptop out.
That music during the photo slides was a real throwback. The HWC nostalgia is real rn
thanks for using proper wallpaper and launcher..
i frickin hate reviewer who use terrible theme on their phone when reviewing the phone
Cheers!
Thumbs up for the baby!
indeed, super cute
AwesomeSauce
Yey whats up James :)
What launcher are you using
AwesomeSauce nice name dude
Have the Note 8 and love it. I haven't experienced any slow downs. Never experienced any slow downs or lags with any Samsung phones I've had in the past and ive owned the S2, Note 3 (had it for 4 years), S7 edge (twice), Note 7 (twice) and the S8.
I had the LG V10 which went out on me and never came back on. That was a great phone.
Where do you get your wallpapers?
My battery life has varied too honestly but I have so many chargers laying about at work and home that it doesn't bother me. As for paying for the phone, I traded my Note 5 and knocked $480 off the price tag of the Note 8 with Verizon. That's a deal anyone would be silly to pass on. All in all, it's been an amazing time with my Note 8.
I have note 8 and I love it.... great phone made by Samsung.....
What about the fingerprint sensor placement? Is it bothering you?
I am thinking of buying it. It is going to be my first flagship phone. :)
Vikas Poonia you can buy the Note 8 or wait for the S9/S9+ that will be out in a month. The presentation will be this month on February 25th. Might as well wait till the S9/S9+ comes out so you see what it can offer.
Vikas Poonia oh the fingerprint will be lower on the new S9 models.
Really need to know how you setup that home screen.
What launcher? Which widgets? Which icon pack..?
pls.
What a review!💯
@HardwareCanucks What wallpaper, theme, and icon pack are you using? Thanks!
Now this is what i call a real daddy playa.
Boss of all Phablets and smartphones!
Boss!
Compared to many other You Tube videos, the quality on yours is superb. I dont know what lens you use, but the video pops out, crisp, sharp images.
What clock widget is that?
Great video! Which icon pack are you using and what’s the name of that clock widget?
I wish HTC would bring back the full metal body from the HTC 10...
It's also surprisingly easy to use one handed considering it's relatively narrow for the screen size
My main gripe is that it is noticably slower to charge than my S7 edge on my portable charger which I use every day at work. On the whole though I'm loving this thing
well..i got note 8 just recently and got so so screen of time which is 5 hours something then i read a lot forum about note 8 battery life then i realize the biggest culprit about battery is no other than google itself after turn off find my device and google activity apps got consistent 7 hours screen on time now thks to forum xda..
charlie junius how do you turn this off
You go to location settings or you just search to the overall settings in your note 8 and then select it and then disable it
I got 2 questions,
can you insert pen backwards and still do not break your phone,
and is it fater than a 1000$ laptop?
what's the icon pack used?
Farid Abbasbayli replying so I can know when someone responds
Default
Farid Abbasbayli good question!
Patrik Radelj noo
Simpax icon pack everyone
cracked open a rockstar so i guess that counts. when i see a longer (17 min) video from you guys, i know it's actually that much content so good job
Note8.. BEST 2017 smartphone.
Skott62 u can find them at 700 to 800 dollars on Amazon
Thanks. I'm still not happy how the prices keep going up on these smart phones. Last time I paid $620 for a Note 3. I'm just not feeling the extra costs are worth the newer features. Price vs value just seems not to be there. Just my own opinion of course.
Skott62 you are right well just wait until next year the price will dip
My Note 3 is still going strong and i like the removable battery, Note 8 is not a game changer
What is that Wallpaper? can you pls link the photo if it is third party
Yess pleaseee
Same here
Sameee
Lim Zheng Yue link not in thumbnails. plz give
Upgraded from an S7 edge; thought I wouldn't be as impressed, but I am. I LOVE my Note 8! The S pen is surprisingly something I reach for.
I'm still pretty happy with my "regular" S8, but I might get the Note9 whenever it comes out.
Bruno Damasceno I have the iPhone 6 Plus, and I’m also waiting for the note 9 next year.
I stumbled on your video while searching for this phone review.. I was thrilled watching u.. The sound was so good,i stayed till the end. I plan to start RUclips channel someday but the cost of getting good camera and making videos with good sounds keeps me stuck to where I am. What do you advice? Plssss..
Watching this on my note 8
A Faran how's the battery
uchiha itachi It has a 3300mah battery which lasts about 2-3 hours of consecutive usage and its battery depletes faster and charges a bit slower.
Lucky you
A Faran the battery was decent its average nothing special
Luna thanks bab
What theme were you using on the Samsung Note? I really like it
still love my note 4
If only there were new phones with removable batteries I would have upgraded from mine. But alas.
Firdaus Azhar is still have my note4 also but I had to get that note8 no regrets go cop you one man tightest phone out this
well in my country the price is 5k plus, with the average salary around 900/month that phone is out of option for average people here, so note 4 is the best for me, note 5 dont even have sd card,
This phone blew up after it released, everyone started using it. Good review as always.
Diogo there are unlocked Note8s.
Nice review as always Eber. I'll be patiently waiting on your pixel 2 review thanks buddy!! keep up the awesome videos!!
i'm using note 5 and haven't slow down a bit for 2 years of using it..
Cristine Pille don't install too many apps and delete the ones you rarely use, your phone won't lag at all.
Works for me :)
You might have got used to the lag 🤣
Why are you hating?
Thank You for not putting a Dbrand ad in this video like 99% of the other guys.
S8+ bought free no network. No problem no slowdowns. Same on S7 edge
Adam Krolik I have an s8 still as fast as the day I got it

thank you for your information.............
Jack Skellington Unless the best software experience, fast updates, project Fi, the best camera on the market and a mostly metal back are important to you. ;)
hanyoukimura haha. I've never used a case or screen protector on any of my phone's n they're all scratch free :)
But glass back gives a premium feeling
I just got the Note 8. Have not picked it up. I previously had the Note 4 for over 2 years and it was a really good phone. I tried to upgrade to the Note 5 but we all know how that ended. So I settled for an S7 edge last fall. But I always liked the Note series and missed the pen. They have improved the pen functionality so much and this Note 8 has awesome specs so it was a no-brainer for me to upgrade to the Note 8. Looking forward to using this fantastic phone.
LOL here in Canada I paid close to $1700 for mine, but that includeds the insurance on it for $170. This shit better last me a strong and 3 years
Lenford Morris Well its been 1 year so far, hows it been so far??
Is it still going strong?
Nice review! I find the speaker blocking a nice feature actually when you have an unwanted notification or call xD Battery wise, I personally get about 5-7 SOT with a whole day of medium to heavy use. Battery is very solid. Performance is great as well and those cameras * . *
Wallpaper and icon pack please 😜
Prathamesh Yedare I need it

Prathamesh Yedre simpaz icon pack
Nova launcher
Zooper widget pro

What theme is he using?
Damn 17 minutes for a phone review
Worth every millisecond though 😉
Have ever heard of Erica griffin or Flossy Carter? 😂
Have you seen Erica Griffin? 😂 she does half hour impression videos XD And 2 part 1h long reviews!
better than 4 minutes where they just repeat the specs
Hey man I can't decide if I should get the iPhone x or the note 8 plz reply
There are so many reviews available you should be able to make your own mind up. Check them both out at a local phone shop and go figure!!!
Pixel 2 XL or Galaxy Note 8... Was sure I'd never buy a Samsung product but just for the fact that the note HAS a headphone jack it's hard to decide
James Davern next year they gonna go away from note 9
I'm sure within the next year it'll be gone from every flagship. It's inevitable. Why do people care so much about an old-school 3.5mm headphone jack?
James Davern get the Note! It's the most powerful phone in the market aim for multitasking
