Carl do I still love it
Carl do you still love it
Same. I just made the switch and I'm in love with this phone.
iPhone seems crazy to me since I switched to Android!
My favorite phone ever had. Crazy multitasking, great graphic, fast, good battery super fancy. My wife bought the iPhone X...she got disappointed returned it and got a Note 8 LOL
seriously?..wow...i think note 8 handsome dude
About to get mine from boost mobile in the mail. Cant wait!
What howww???? People say samsung galaxy note 8 has bad battery
@@sarah8638 It's average battery depending on Usage. It's not too bad, but bad compared to S8+
@@raahimfareed oh ok thanks for telling me
The first thing I recommend doing when getting a new phone, should be getting a screen protector or and a case.
Webster Kollie already have mine before the phone arrive
Webster Kollie lol honestly
The great screen protector debate.... I haven't used one for 8 years. They are far uglier than a fine scratch on the screen (which I have never had either)
Jon-Cameron Bates some people like to resell their old phone when they're done with and the better it looks, the more value you get.
Screen protector, for those times when you carry your phone in the same pocket as your loose diamonds.
Upgraded from Note 2 to Note 8 today. Very happy.
Sneaks Man note 2 was a tank
holy smokes man that thing belongs in a museum lol
That's a huge leap
Sneaks Man big upgrade 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
still have my note 3. works perfectly.

I recently got to hold the note 8 and the FINGER PRINT SCANNER IS FINE! I feel like at this point everybody is just saying it because they feel its the popular thing to say. As long as you don't wear a size medium glove or smaller you should be alright. I know the phone is big that's why it's a Note. STOP COMPLAINING!
Still though, would be better with the fingerprint scanner somewhere else...I hate the current location, it just begs you to smudge up your camera at the same time... Fingers crossed for a fingerprint scanner behind the screen for the next generation :)
I don't have that problem smudging the camera just because of my case my finger hits the corner of the case every time and then I slide ride into the scanner but I do understand the problems others are having but yeah having one on the back would be easy also. We shall see what they do.I think im good until the note 10 tho lol
I'm loving it and it recognizes my fingerprint from heaps of different angles so I'm not even having to actually fully put my finger on the sensor
That phone is awesome. How could anyone want an apple iphone over that?
I've refused to buy anything Apple ever since they tried to force other computer makers out of business by claiming copyright infringement for calling their machines "personal computers."
When the IBM PC came out in 1982, Apple's selection of software for its proprietary APPLE II numbered in the dozens while software for the open-source IBM PC numbered in the hundreds. Two years later, Apple released the Macintosh that had a grand total of four business- or school-oriented programs written for it while IBM PC had fifty different titles including programming languages that were originally developed for IBM mainframes. By 1986, Apple had reached the 100 software titles plateau while IBM had several thousand software titles from categories not available on Apple computers.
The other major advantage of the IBM PC was that it was an open source design that permitted other companies to manufacture perip herals for it such as disk drives, graphics cards and modems - which was very unlike Apple who made their hardware to be proprietary - and still does! Something as innocuous as the USB connector from a power supply that attaches to a smartphone or tablet, every manufacturer except Apple has standardized the design on that connector.
For these and other reasons, I have never purchased anything made by Apple (and never will) beyond the original APPLE II (which I replaced with the open-source Franklin clone of it that was far better than Apple's proprietary box.
BTW, Apple successfully sued Franklin for patent infringement and put it out of business which foreshadowed the cellphone wars between it and Samsung. Fortunately, Samsung stayed in business and has turned out smartphones that put the vaunted the iPhone to shame. I now carry a late model Samsung Galaxy while the wife has an iPhone (with a GPS navigation system that constantly gives her faulty directions while mine never fails to get me to where I asked to go),
"sheeps"
This is simply the best smartphone on earth!!!
Getting my Note 8 on Friday so this video was very helpful to me. Thank you. :)
I've had the Note 8 for about a month and I love it!
Currently using an iphone 5, getting my Note 8 next week.
I love the blue light filter. I used F.lux on iPhone for years and cant live without it. I switched from the iPhone 6s plus to the Note 8 and have never been happier with a phone.
I've always wanted to point this out that in South Korea having the navigation bar order in "Recent-Home-Back" is the norm, that's why they prob didn't have the other option! I was so surprised when I found out that people in the US were not used to that order :D
Uni May I keep it Recent-Home-Back just because that's how it came out of the box and it feels good that way. On my old phone it's Back-Home-Recent and that's how I prefer it for the old phone
Got mine 2 months ago...still a beast in 2019!!!
@Pulkit Pun hell yea
@@sarah8638 o god no...its the opposite.
Nice vid, thanks. Getting my Note 8 tomorrow. Note 4 was stolen from me in 2014 and I was on the S5 mini since. Big change coming and looking forward to it.
Upgraded from a note 3, to a note 8...i feel like a godamm CEO....the luxury
Lol i get what you mean bro i did that too
@@haxssn me too.... i feel like i caught up with the Joneses
The Note 8 is the best smartphone period. Apple's presentation was disappointing. I was hoping for much more and wanted to be convinced to buy it. IPhone 8 was a joke of an so called new phone. IPhone X has face recognition and animated emojis...WOOOW!!! But all Apple fanboys and girls will state the features that they announced today were all new and never done before including cellular capability on the Apple watch and 4k TV.
Marcus Howard personally an Apple fanboy .... but I actually said fuck it and preordered the note 8 ... trying something new I guess
One thing I actually did like about the Iphone X though, is the ability to have both face scan and retina scan activated at the same time... I hope Samsung gets around to updating their software so it is possible, since one works in bright light and the other in dim light...
I did the same thing! Have mine sitting next to me. I really like it.. I just don't like the washed out front facing camera and no one can hear me when I send Facebook videos because it's so badly compressed. The back cam is also a bit washed out compared to iOS. I have to constantly tweak the colors. Only reason why I'll be going back to my 7+ -- also iMessage.
Just wait till Note 8 burns, all your sweet logics will go into the drain.
Thomas Patton same here , received mine today, I was really disappointed with Apple this year
I don't recommend using face recognition, yes indeed it is quicker than the iris scanner but iris scanner is securer since the phone uses an actual sensor instead of the camera.
Eddy Nelson Lopez the face recognition can't be fooled by a picture right now. Samsung has fix it a little bit. I don't want to say it's saver, but it's not that bad anymore. :)
DragonGamer You can still hack into it with a picture unfortunately.
Just use the Iris Scanner... I really don't see why anyone even uses the face recognition.
jeepsarefun21 Samsung plainly States that it's a handy option not for security what so ever.
Lemony Snicket They say that because it isn't secure. The person I originally replied to incorrectly stated that the Note 8 can't be fooled by a picture anymore.
I own the note 8. Love it!!
Thanks. I'm waiting for my delivery after moving over from the iPhone so these videos are very useful.
Watching on Note 8
how's the camera?
Also watching on Note 8. Camera is great, but I can't seem to find the Auto photo edit feature that was on S7 Edge.
Just After Midnight me too
Christopher Marek ask Bixby to auto adjust your photo, that's how I do it
watching on my keypad phone x'D
How small are peoples' hands that they are not able to reach the finger scanner...? I can tough it all day long without any trouble...
This is exactly what I'm thinking. I mean reviewers kept going on and on about how big the phone is, how out of reach everything is.
Meanwhile, here I am perfectly able to reach most of the screen (and the finger scanner) with ease. Only downside to the placement is that it's close-isa to the camera lenses, but even that has improved slightly since the S8, thanks to the flash acting as a buffer.
I have small hands and I can reach it just fine
I've once said that I would like as palm to tip measurement and a width measurement on one of these videos as every reviewer either misjudges their hand size or are completely clueless to what makes a small/ large hand
Jared Brown
oh
Did he say not being able to reach it? I don't remember that but the location is awkward. I tend to hold the phone on my pinkie for balance and my finger will not reach it. Also, the sensor doesn't always work very well. It definitely needs some improvements.
Gets the note 8...doesn't take out the s pen... smh
This Guy ikr smd.
This Guy that would be me lol
What's up my g
I'm happy with my note 8 for 1 year using it..
I've had my note 8 for about a week now, love it & Thank You for showing me a few more tricks that I was unaware of
Does it still work well?? You dont have to answer my question
Went from iPhone 5s to the Note8 and that was the best decision I've made up to this point of my life
Thanks - great way to get a quick start on using this without RTFM... Appreciated.
This phone is hands down beutiful, being a iPhone user for 5 years, this tops my list. Got it yesterday and wow!!
got my note 8 end of jan..really a awesome phone
Just got mine today. So in love!
I still don't get why reviewers whine about the fingerprint scanner being on the "wrong" side. Everyone I see reviewing this phone and the S8/+ whines about this. They always "prove" this by trying to unlock the phone with their right hand, yet when using their phones during reviews they use both hands, holding it with the left and using the right hand to point/pinch/S-pen. That's why the fingerprint scanner is on the "wrong side", so you can unlock it with the left! I'm a Note user myself and I always hold my phone with my left and pinch/point/S-pen with the right hand. That's also why the S-pen is placed on the right side, to hold the phone with the left and get the pen out with the right hand. I agree that the fingerprint scanner could feel misplaced if you're a lefty and only because of that it should be placed somewhere else. I think the majority of right handed reviewers are used to one handed phones, but these phones are big and ment to be used with both .
Michael Diaz I'm a lefty, so I hold my phone with right hand. Getting the spen out with my left hand is somewhat of a pain. But hey I can easily reach the fingerprint sensor easily
Completely agree. The placement is exactly where it SHOULD be because of the reason you stated. Mist of us hold our phones with our left hand lol. And 95% of us dont use the damn fingerprint sensor anyway. I guess because the phone is so damn good and the best phone that money can buy that they had to find SOMETHING to complain about.
Just got my Note 8 yesterday. Had the iPhone 6s Plus. Very happy with my Note 8
i like the way samsung has its buttons being a right hand i like the back on the right i dont use recents as much as back n i dont have reach over
I can't stand having a back button on the left, too far from my thumb. Like he said though, very courteous to make that an option now that they ditched the softkeys.
And what is with all the hating on the Samsung keyboard? Seems like I am the only one that really appreciates a dedicated row for numbers that no other keyboard I have found has.
Adahy Lewis That's one of the main reasons I prefer Android to iOS. As a right-handed user who prefers to use his device with one hand, I've always found having the back key at the top left of the screen to be impractical.
Adahy Lewis And I also like having a number row on the keyboard. Gboard has one that you can enable in the preferences.
Adahy Lewis - my a.i. type keyboard has a dedicated row for numbers (which can be switched to 4 other options if you want).
I agree. On the Note 8's huge screen it's awkward and quite uncomfortable to reach to the left to hit the back button. The opposite would be true for left handers so kudos to Samsung for giving us this option.
I use the SwiftKey app and I love it. Has much better prediction accuracy too.
Nice video, had some good info. Glad I watched, there were a few thing that would have taken a few day to figure out.
Wait so can I use all the security features? Like Iris, Face, Pattern, Fingerprint?
Tip for your video- next time try to move the camera in a position so that your phone is angled straight up and down, and not tilted diagonal in the video. It makes it kind of a pain to watch. Regardless, I appreciate the video!
Just got mine yesterday. I already miss my HTC m9 though. It just a huge change. I don't regret getting the samsung note 8 though it's pretty awesome
Note arrived today, this was very useful.
You can kill the bixby button in the option panel of bixby. I hit that button a least two times a day and I was really starting to hate my note8 but now by killing that button it’s perfect. You can still use the button by holding it for more then one second so it’s there a helpfull.
sebastien taylor thank you for that !
Great video - helped me with my brand new Note 8.
Bought it 3 days ago...not disappointed at all✌️✌️it's still a beast
Love this channel. When you buy a new phone this is where to come. Best phone channel on RUclips. Hope you see this comment. Droid life for life !
How is your navigation bar transparent at the home screen? Mine is solid white I hate it. EDIT: Found the option in Nova, never mind!
I got mine yesterday. Love it. The live messenger feature is a blast. I am having more fun with it then is healthy...You can find all kinds of "creative" things to do with it. ;)
Love this phone had it since day one and I love it
I am a Samsung rep, you put together a really great bundle of features! Some simple some beyond useful i.e. the trusted locations for the lock screen. (locations does have to be turned on) for those who struggle to get it working.
I didn't realize the themes themed the navigation buttons now too.
I was using the APK from XDA on my S8+ and that worked like a charm.
Thank you for the video. Well done. Easy to follow. I really appreciate not playing background music. Found ALL the information very useful. :)
upgraded from redmi 1s to note 8 today, so happy.... and smooth like never been before:)
Thanks man. It was really helpful
Finally going to be updating my s3 to the note 8
Haven’t had an android phone in a couple years and am super excited to get the note 8. Great video here!!!
Just got Note 8 (in 2020).
Loving it.
By How much Raahim ? And which version of the storage ?
I wanna get one .
Thank you for a great video, it's the first time i actually learned things i wanted to know and didn't feel so stupid!
I've had every iPhone for the last 7 years. I have moved to the Note 8 after the iPhone 8/X reveal. Note 8 is simply amazing.
Watching on iPhone 6 one of the worst slowest phones ever.. I get my note 8 next week😍
tbf the iPhone 6 aged pretty badly, the iPhone 6s and up should still be decently usable even today
Back button on the right is better
aerostal1 absolutely barbaric
Personal preference
Galaxy standard
For a phone this big Samsung is right. It's the only good option for partial one-hand usage with smaller hands. I go back more than I switch apps.
Yes, if you're already used to Samsung devices, that is.
Thank you. A lot of good information from a new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 owner.
Mine's coming Tuesday!!! Stoked! Thanks for the videos!
Debi Ross same. Mine comes Tuesday as well
I'm interested in understanding more about the battery for the note 8. It's charge: should you remove charging when done? When do you start charging best? 50% or 15% big controversy. Thank you. I subscribed. Hopefully you'll have those questions explained soon too. Ty !
this was useful. Thank you
Upgraded from my Note 4 (I really enjoyed removable battery...) to Note 8 and I am very happy :) first thing you have to do to save your battery life i to change the background to pitch black.
Great video thanks for the information
I think The fingerprint placement is just ok for me on note 8. It is easy for me to use due to design change compare to s8.
What's the app to get Google's stock navigation bar?
Sean porter It is an overlay that you have to install. Just search up "Galaxy S8/S8+/Note8 Navigation Bar Overlay" and it should lead to some XDA links where you can download the overlay apk's and you have to restart your device after installing.
ruclips.net/video/gqyX4fc5SY0/видео.htmlm3s It's a material design theme
Kyle Pineda it's actually a theme
There's the option to customize your google search bar. Just go to the three dots on your Gsearch bar widget and tap on customize. You can make it rounded or even change the logo
If you install this and reboot you'll get Pixel navigation bar icons drive.google.com/file/d/18nvY9-eaeLK7lhutV7CzTZtGoKpwcC3d/view?usp=drivesdk
Thanks for the theme.
Probably good info but the constant movement of hands and fingers, having to hold my head sideways to see the Note 8 screen, and jiggling of the device while you're talking, made me dizzy. I just got the Note 8 and was hoping to find a setup video but will look for one which has less physical movement. Thanks.
So glad I watched and I added left fingerprint to offset issue of scanner being in the wrong place 😏
I got mine last night and love it so far. A question I have is can you customize text tones and ringtones for each contact? I had that on my Note 5 and was able to tell who was calling and texting without looking at my phone.
think I'll still run nova on top but theme store is handy. chroma keyboard is ok too.
Got it on the 15 I love it it's amazing and the camera is amazing!
Corey Hartz for reallll I'm greatly impressed!
Solara Rumor yes I'm on literally all day every day and have a new experience with everyday so far
What is the best text messaging app for the note 8? Thank you for your video's, they have really helped me!
@Droid Life : I didnt know about the material theme. REALLY nice tip. Thanks for that!!!
Great video. Great quality. Well explained. Only thing, please put the topics that you cover with the time link in the description. It allows us to skip to the features we want to hear about. Thank you very much.
Upgraded from s7 edge to note 8 two days ago. The phone is amazing so far. Very happy with it. 😄
THANK YOU for telling us how to disable BIXBY
got my phone days ago its awesome
Hughie1987 says delivery by Tuesday 8pm, I'm excited!
Nice vid! Thanks for tips
In regards to people not liking the back button on the right just have a think about this... most people hold the phone in their right hand I would assume and what button do we use the most on a phone? the back button. best accessible by the right thumb when holding it in the right hand.
people may disagree but I believe the back button on the right is the best place for it. could just be what people got used to first but when you think about what I just said it makes more sense .
Spearsy I agree, I find it far quicker to press it when it's just below where my thumb sits
I've had the note 2..3..4 and 5..now the note 8.. enjoying it so far..🥰.. I'm not big on phones...but I've just stayed in the note family for a long time...🤷🏽♀️
Great Video. I learned a lot about the Note 8. Keep up the great work.
Very informative, however you should slow down and show us apple-converts where you are swiping, you go too fast. I had to replay swiping parts numerous times.
This made me like my note way more!!!!
Tim absolutely awesome review definitely needed this and all the New reviews because I just received mine and did not even get the chance to even delve into. But so far absolutely love it.I already know some but I see there is so much to keep me busy even just setting up.Thanks for you and Kellen for bringing back so much I did not even get to get into with the other Note.Thank you both for all the best reviews this far.Deb👍
Thanks 😊
That was eppic that you showed how to disable Bixby by pinching sliding to the left epic
Love my Note 8!
I got the Note 8 love the phone but miss the IR blaster and removable battery.
Great video man thanks!!
What a really cool and informative video. Thy Hanks bro!
Upgrade from note 4 to note 8... fun, fun, fun!
Gotta say I quite enjoyed this video, fair play man👍
And how many of these features can you use with the s8?
Currently waiting for note 9 release. Upgraded from s5 to s8+ a week be4 the note 8 was released but very excited and cant wait to get a note 9!!
As always great video and nice recommendations my friend.
Just got mine today since using iPhones since the first one, but really don't like iPhone X. Thank you for this great video of help it is just perfect even though a few things a bit different here in the UK. Cheers will be watching for more help!
Very good tutorial and very helpful. I wish you wouldn't move the phone around so much when your talking and gesturing, it makes it a little difficult to see what you doing.
great video. learnt alot thanks
Yah know people say the finger print scanner is in a bad place but I think it's pretty damn well placed
Very informative vid. Thank you very much. Next time you make a video though can you hold the phone vertical so I'm not tilting my head for 16 1/2 min? Thanks
