@Just A Proud Mexican-American hello and thanks you too!
Things practically the size of a Honda HR-V on the outside, and WOW ITS WAY BIGGER ON THE INSIDE, gotta give credit to ford there👍
Hey Scotty! Nice Video! This is the owner of the 03' LS430 you shot the other week, any idea on when the video will be uploaded? I'm chomping at the bit!
Scotty what do you think of SYNC? Remember that video of the car that talks to you?
I live in a mazda turbo zoom zoom
If Scotty's ever arrested and handcuffed, the cops wouldn't have to advise him of his right to be silent. No way he can talk with his hands immobilized.
They should just call them station wagons. LOL
Yep, that's exactly what it is. I was born in 1954, and my parents had a '58 Chevy wagon. I'm guessing that about 1/2 of the families in the neighborhood had wagons. From what I have seen over the years, SUV's are made because they are considered trucks. With the gas mileage laws, passenger cars are held to stricter mileage requirements than trucks, so they make trucks.

Our 2015 escapes transmission went out at 157,000 miles.... Had transmission fluid changed regularly and everything

I rented a low mileage 2019 or 2020 Escape and took it round trip from Phoenix to Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. I was very impressed with it. It holds its’ own on Interstates next to the big rigs. As much as we mock at the overdose of electronics, all the ones on board with this one worked and actually made for better safety. Took many hours to find them all and get the radio to work with an iPhone. That was the biggest challenge, but when it’s all synced up, it was a great vehicle.
The view of the skyscrapers in the distance as you drive is a bonus... you are going to love all of the windshield views in Tennessee .
Congratulations on your new home scotty!!!
YES HE FINALLY REVIEWED THE FORD ESCAPEEEEEE
I'm listening to this in my 2015 2.0 Turbo titanium Escape with 125,000 miles. These are really good vehicles for the money. I think mine will go 300,000 plus miles.
Maintain it, and it could last 300k or more.
Yea, no it won't lol

I have a 2013 escape with 125k miles on her and she holds all her fluids. Not a drop burns or leaks. I've been worried since Scotty dogs on the GDI turbo engines so much but ford seems to have this one pretty solid. At least in my case 🤷🏽
I'm approaching 100K on mine. I've been worried because of Scotty too. So this is encouraging!
@@mcc7762 yeah I do all the recommended maintenance myself. Just did the trans flush and spark plugs change at 120k. I was taking it to the stealership but they kept saying I had an oil leak, and every time I brought it in for something the oil leak was in a different place and doubled in price 🙄 strange thing is I never lost any oil for having this mysterious moving oil leak 😂
I own a 2013 Escape, also. Anyone ever had to change out their dead battery??? It was ridiculous. They put the battery under the dash. I will never buy another Escape again because of that.
Rick Simpson maybe it would smoke his GT from the 80’s lmfao

My wife has one of these, it goes like a go kart, just remember to disable the auto start stop feature Everytime you start it.
I have a 2014 Ford Escape and it's been great.
I bought the 2018 S model, which is the base model but it has a 2.5 L and no turbo, which means it will probably last longer and so far, it gets the job done. No luxury but for the pace it has, I think it's a good option. Btw, no turbo lag! 👌🏼
Just got a 17 escape titanium a few months ago and love it! Glad to see it get a nod of approval from Scotty.
Same year and trim as mine. You're good if you got the 2.0, but if you got the 1.5, you may be in for some trouble...

Let me know how it’s holding up now. I think Scotty changed his mind since. But the titanium escape is interesting. One thing I see is you can’t replace the battery easily.
The Escapes are good cars! I have leased my third one now and I have always had a great ride and very reliable.
I hope so i just bought one 🙏
I have a 2006 Ford Escape it’s 14 years old and gets its regular oil changes every 3 months still going strong 💪🏽 olny thing I changed on it was the radio system to a 7 inch touchscreen with apple CarPlay and android auto with a backup camera
I had this escape (2015), the next one (2017), and I’m now buying the hybrid (2020). Love this car.
@John Jalas Its a lease.
As a tech who works at a Ford dealer, if you get a newer escape, get the 2.5L 4cy NATURALLY ASPIRATED. Great engines, esp if you take care of them. Not very powerful, but easy to maintain and reliable. DO NOT get the ecoboost. The 2020+ Escapes you can only get with an ecoboost.
We had the 2.0 ecoboost titanium.
That engine seems to hold up better than the 1.5/1.6 ecoboost.
But I agree with you the 2.5 naturally aspirated is much better than the ecoboost.
Is a 2022 1.5L with Ecoboost ok?
I drive a 2012 ford escape limited . It's the last model of escape that was an actual SUV before ford started making them all crossovers. I wish they would go back to the old body style.
Same. So much cooler looking.
That’s what the bronco sport did
Same I have a 2009, and I see the escapes now look nothing like my car

I've had eight Ford vehicles, from an '03 Ranger, six F150s and a '13 Focus hatchback. I can't say I was the biggest fan of the Focus. Low profile tires sucked, rode a bit on the cheap end, though, it was the loaded Titanium. Got out of that and jumped back to an F150. Traded in normally to avoid warranty expiration. I finally landed on a '19 F150 with 2.7L Ecoboost. I plan on keeping this one. Done with the trading in. It rides great, shifts great, and engine is as smooth as it can be. I baby all of my vehicles. This one is certainly no different. I have no complaints about Ford really. I trust their F150 lineup. With as long as they have been manufacturing, they know what works and what doesn't with those pickups.
Scotty, that's a 2016 or earlier. I have a 2017 and my wife has a 2018 and we love them. We both have the 2 liter turbo.
I thought they stopped making the 1.6 in 2014 or 15? Then started using the 1.5. With the 4 wheel drive that should have a 2.0. If just front wheel drive it would have a 1.5.
my wife just got a 2014 escape titanium w the 2.0 Ecoboost, she loves it. the 1.6 had a timing belt, the 2.0 has a timing chain. I. glad the one she wanted has a chain
Our 2017 Escape Titanium was only a couple thousand more than the SE you tested, just under $30K fully loaded, FWD. Unless you live up north, you don’t need the cost and lower mpg of the AWD. Ours has the 2.0 Ecoboost which has a lot more power than the 1.6...great pickup for a little crossover. Zero problems in 84K miles. Seats could be a little comfier on a long drive. All in all, a really nice product from Ford.
Lol you got me excited. Im getting a lot of practice converting vehicles into campers. When i saw my favorite mechanic with a car camper, it almost blew my mind.
Got me an 2013 escape sel. And got 84xxx miles and it never idles weirdly or any of that. But I got the Fwd and gotta say once I straight piped it, thing idles even better and accelerates even better. I know it’s not a good idea. But the car overall performs so much better loving it and no issues at all
Afternoon Scotty!

I had a 2016 ford escape and my transmission went at 125000 miles... got a 2020, i just love this car... handles like a dream!

I have a 2019 Escape and it's been a pretty good car. Comfortable, easy to drive, and nice looking. I will say though, one and a half years in I have already had to have a new APIM (infotainment computer) placed in. It didn't cost me anything and the dealership gave me a loaner for the time it was being serviced but still.... Its a 2019 c'mon. Other than that it's been a lovely car
How is a vehicle good when a major component goes out in less than 2 years?
my aunt has a 2014 titanium with the 2.0. 156k miles no issues my 2017 SE 2.0, 71k no issues. they are great crossovers
We had base model 2017 Escapes as fleet vehicles at a former employer. A majority of them had misfire issues that the dealer couldn't fix, and a couple had their transmissions go before 100k. Nice interior, but rough ride.
Love my 2019 Escape.
I love his laugh when he puts up the horse every time 😂
Scotty going easy on FORD? Must be in a good mood after all the equity he just cashed in on 🍺💰
I recently bought a 2017 FWD Titanium escape. Wondered how you felt about escapes so I searched and sure enough you even had one that was my year
Surprised you didn't comment on the battery location. Just had to swap out the battery in mine. You have to remove either the air box or the windshield wipers and cowl to get at it. Those stores that usually change batteries for you if you buy one of theirs laughed at me and said no way.
I have an identical one and everything is so true. It even makes the same noises
Cost of staying in motels while driving across the country was outrageous. I am sorry I didn’t realize that it was so expensive to stay in what are essentially 3 star rooms. I would have slept in the car.
I have a 2015 Ford Fusion with 128k on it. Original wheel bearings and none of my plastic vents make noises. I also change the transmission fluid every 60k. I have the 2.5 engine. Solid built
I have a 2010 Escape i4 4x4 with 262,000 MI runs great no problems, just regular maintenance :)
The 2.3 Four in my 97 Ranger sounded like a Four when standing at the front, but it had a cool factory exhaust. At the exhaust, it almost sounded like an inline Six!
The added weight of all the wood affecting acceleration and shocks.
Also, didn't expect to hear some good news! 😁
Would love to see a Scotty x Sandy Munro crossover episode! Scotty talking about some of the flaws in some models and/or brand with Sandy and just talk about both their experiences with Dodge.
Really want to buy a 2021/2022 Dodge Wagoneer!
I had a 2017 SE Escape with the 2.0 L motor. That was a very quick suv for the money . My wife has a 430bmw & she would laugh when I would get on it to merger etc. Because it was so fast. In case any body is wondering, I would get about 28mpg on average. Never has a single problem in 80k miles. Just changed the oil. Still had original tires and breaks. Would recommend this suv to anybody. I would of bought the new one, but I needed something bigger.
I've got a '19 Escape SEL, 1.5l - 4 awd. Seems to be bulletproof. Very reliable.

@@mcc7762 yep. If you get 130k you are dry lucky.
Those 1.6L Ecoboost engines are known to catch fire due to a oil pipe leaking and dropping oil on the turbo/exhaust. Here in the UK at least it was a problem with the Sigma engine. Battery terminal issues were highlighted in couple of cases.
My brother drives a Ford Escape. It's good to know they are built well.
I knew Scotty liked the new Ford eco post engines :) 2.0 turbo way to go Scotty I have one too on my 2014 fusion titanium just a heads up I know you know just a reminder change your high pressure fuel pump cam follower it can permanently damage your engine please make a video on this subject your the best Scotty!
Scotty looking on the burned out side, tired needing a break. As a tech I would not recommend thiese with the 1.6l as they tend to blow head gaskets between cyl two and three. Done three in a week just testing them with a pressure test and coolant was found in the cylinders. First sign of it is when it is first started in the morning with a noticeable misfire that clears up after a few mins.
My 2005 Ford Escape XLT with the V6 got me to 265,000 miles , still going strong . (rebuilt transmission at 165,000)
It would be fun to tour around the country in a car. You just got to absolutely make sure to cover up the windows before you fall asleep and move after 8 hours. Some of the people using rest stops as a living area don’t move as they should.
Happy Sunday Scotty, We just purchased the base model used with 53k and 2.5 naturally aspirated engine. Have you noticed any paint chipping around the front windshield ? Hi Scotty, have a safe trip to Tennessee
hello and thanks!
What part of Tennessee? Have lived here over fifty years, best place on earth, except for the horrble summer humidity.
I traded in my fiesta st for a base model 2020 escape. Upgrade in comfort and size and apparently has the potential to be a place to live if times get tougher.
Review a 2010-2018 Ford Taurus. That’s what we wanna see!
Know somebody who had a 2013 Escape 2.5 base model. It blew its transmission with low miles (I can't remember the number, but I remember being surprised at how low the mileage was). Not sure if the 2.5 used the PowerShift or the regular torque-converter unit but it reinforced my opinion of Ford of being sometimes unreliable. She bought a Hyundai Tucson which I figure will be a much more sound vehicle. Now every time I see an Escape I picture the trail of transmission fluid that my friend left in her neighbourhood right before the transmission gave up.
BTW, that is prior to the 2017 refresh, no newer than a 2016 model. Anyway, I leased a 2017 Escape Titanium with 2.0 Twin Scroll EB. Quick as hell. Solid transmission, kept it for 31k and 3 years. Was worried about turbo long term so I turned it in. Was happy with it.
What’s wrong with the turbo?
