I have a Robinson from the early-80s. I rode that bike everywhere between age 12-14. Including many races @ the local BMX track. I still ride it around the neighborhood from time to time.

Great video and sweet bikes my dude! I have an 89 GT Interceptor that's about 85% done, an 81 supergoose that's about 95% done, and an 80 redline MX II that I'm just starting on. I still love old school BMX. It's in my blood!

Still have my Hutch from back in the 80's I bought directly from Mr. Hutch himself in Maryland. Had a CW and Cook Bothers also. The Hutch with Profile 185 cranks was the best.

I rode a GT Mach one 1984, then a GT Pro Series 1985... this stuff was my LIFE for so.many.years.
The dude I considered my bro, he rode an mongoose Californian, my 4sure best friend had a CW, another friend rode haro, and another friend rode huffy lol. We had our own radical rick style dirt rat bmx hellion gang haha.
I was, and by far still am, GT for life. But the second company/bike I wanted to have so damn bad I practically drooled over it... was a Hutch Pro Racer. Hollywood mike miranda was a beast, outside of the GT crew of Ellis, tommybrackens, chicken george, the list continues!
I'm 44 now and I have focused my sites on rebuilding, or just purchasing a complete bike from the mid to early 80s. Hope I can still fit on it hahaha. Might have to look into a 24" cruiser.
I've considered going with either a redline rl20:2 or even a mongoose supervisor since they seem to pop.up more on ebay etc etc (even tho mongoose was my #1 rival since my neighbor in our bmx gang rode goose and I was diehard GT, decades later, I have a nostalgic respect for the mongoose Californian)... but man, why settle for third options right? I'm holding out on finding a GT or series 1984 or 85, either that powder blue one, possibly an yellow one, or most likely the exact chrome one I had as a teen. That or the longtime hutch dream need to come to fruition! Haha

Dude I just bought me an '85 GT performer and no lie about three days later I bought another '85 GT Mach One which is what I originally was looking for. I'm trying to build it original but I'm from '85 so I didn't grow up on the early GT's and finding good still photos is nearly impossible. But good luck on your search I know they're out there but going for good $$$$$.

man great bikes there. i used to race in South Africa and my bikes were as follows:
1)1ST bike was the Peugoet(cheapest in SA at the time we could afford).
2)Diamond Back Silver Streak fitted with 21's later on for racing.
3)CW Phaze One...had a Z lower bar,i had number 2 or 3 in the world,i cracked it,then got no.8 then crack that one and got a CW pro like pistol Pete used against buys like Gart Turner,Stu Thompson,Anthony Sewell,Patterson brothers, etc.
4)bought an Aero, messed about with it,could do lots of stunts(jumping over cars, etc)and held up very well.
5)got semi sponsered by a local guy who used Patterson frames and racing gear and i used a Patterson Pro frame.
6)then my last one which still rides today. A Kuwahara Lazerlite Pro.
i fitted or moved the parts over from bike to bike like: Redline flight cranks 401's,CW flat or straight topped handle bars,no dip between the grip area. shimano pedals for pedal grinders, still using them today. skyway tough block brake blocks....still works...,Aero seats, even had the fibreglass seat pole and seat from Aero as well. Arai rims, tioga hubs but still have a brand new set of Sunlite Turbo ;arge flange hubs i fitted to a set of rime, but never used and took it out. Man good time i tell you.

I cut the bars super short for racing
And put the blue number plate on it
    With lots of stickers.

Had a Hutch that I raced in high school. Sold it after I got married. Always wanted a P.K. Ripper, so around 2000 I got a NOS P.K. XL frame & Landing Gear fork. Got camo SE pads, Poverty cranks, Casket stem, GT laid back seat post, MCS handlebars, Skyway Tuff Wheels & Dia-Comp brakes. It was awesome, & it probably cost me $900 to put it all together...than few years later, forgot to lock my garage & it got stolen! I was pissed, but my sons had gotten their bikes stolen a couple times, & cops didn’t do shit so I didn’t even bother contacting police
