- JCM Fix shows how you can fix a radio that will not turn on or has stopped working in your Hyundai. If you have a Hyundai and you need to replace the radio fuse / navigation fuse or want to know where the radio fuse / navigation fuse is located on a Hyundai Elantra, I will explain that in this video. I demonstrate all of this on a 2010 Hyundai Elantra but the video may be helpful on other Hyundai's as well.

Just went to autozone to buy the 15A fuses from the electrical aisle ($9.99 for a pack of 12) and replaced both fuses. You saved me, I thought the issue was complex and going to be expensive to fix. I’ve been driving around with no music for a year. THANK YOU!!!! RUclips university did it again. 😊
Jajaja. Very happen it all worked out for you mate. More Hyundai videos to come.
This video fixed my issue and I didn't have to go into anywhere and pay any money. Thank you
These are the comments that I hope to receive. Thanks mate.
You’re awesome!!! We called the dealer to have the radio fixed after the battery died and they totally ghosted us. We had no radio for a year…😤
After watching your video I was able to fix the problem. Sent my hubs a vid of a working radio.

Interesting the double fuse holder for these two fuses. Makes me wonder why these two have this special configuration and are combined in the same physical enclosure? Great video and it is nice to see more car repair info that can help save your survivors money & time! :-)

Thank you so much. I am trying to troubleshoot a problem with my nav unit constantly rebooting in my 2010 Tucson. It powers on but not all functions work ie the clock. So, I was thinking could it be a fuse. Well the fuse box diagrams and the manual show about 4 different places say audio nav unit. I was perplexed when looking at the audio1 and Room lamp in that gizmo and didn't know what to make of that. Made me a little afraid of trying to pull it. So, thank you man for showing that one, how to pull it out and how to change the fuse in that fuse holder. Nobody else showed that nor explained it. Nothing about it in the manual. Since my system turns on, I don't think that would be the fuse I need to look at, after all but still now I learned something about it. Then again, could perhaps a fuse by almost on the edge of being blown and cause the audio/nav unit to constantly reboot? Hmmmm.
Yeah, if it's on the edge of being blown, change it out and see if it stops rebooting. I am happy I could help.
Thank You so much :) i fixed my Hyundai i10's radio

Is the 15A fuse the same for all Hyundai i have a Hyundai Genesis and my radio stop working when I got it back from the shop yesterday morning
@@backtothebasics1598 Try the same procedure and see. If it works then you have found yourself a cheap JCM Fix 😎.
Very nice fix it ,but to same problem with Hyundai Veracruz 2012,,,,what is your advice ? Thanks
I'm not sure about those models. Try the same thing and see if it works.
My interior light AND radio are not working so hopefully this fixes my issue 🤞🏻
@@cassandrasheek8510 cool. There's a fuse for the lights there too. Hope this helps
Is posiple a fuse could cause an issue I have a 2017 accent SE just purchased yesterday.. I have sound on the radio but no display.. the delivery man said it was working when he was driving it to me he made a stop before the drop off and then it went out. I have sound but. I display
You may have only have a display problem. Try to go to a salvage yard, pull the display of a like model and year, disinfect it and plug it in to your car. Then it may work from there. Easy stuff.
I just bought a new 2022, the radio system doesn't come on till it warms up, that can't be right. Is it fuse related?
Wow. I have never heard of that.
No, that doesn't sound like a fuse issue. You are under warranty. You should bget the wiring system checked out. Maybe the head unit is super faulty.
Thanks for your question.
Thanks dude !!!
No prob
Thank you very much man, it worked for me 👌🏻!!!!!
I am happy to hear this Arturo. More to come.
i havent tried to use the fuse method yet but with my 2008 hyundai elantra, my audio would go out on the right side when i would hit a bump and i could just hit the right side of the dash next to the radio and my audio would turn back on on the right side again, a week ago the audio went out again i hope the fuse method will fix my problem.
Sounds like a wiring issue.
Any suggestions for a stereo that randomly shuts off and won't respond. Then randomly it will come back on? Stereo has never been removed and all fuses are showing continuity so not a fuse issue.
The fuse may show continuity but it doesn't mean you're out of the dog house just yet as the fuse just may be on it's last leg. Change to fuse first and see if the random shutting off still happens. If it's still shutting off after the fuse change, you may need a new head unit. Contact your dealership first to ceonfirm before replacing as they may be able to check for a split wire in the back. You never know.
I have a 2023 Hyundai Elantra and I don’t have a fuse that says audio. I have fuses that say module 1, 2,3, etc and other things that are not very descriptive as to what it is. Do you have any suggestions as to where the radio fuse is? It’s driving me crazy.
Sorry i don't. I say, of it's that new, it must still be under warranty. Bring it back to Hyundai and see what they can do.
Do you have any advice if I can’t get my fuse protector off? I’d hate to break it. Only one side comes out. Are they easily damaged?
The only methods i have is what was shown in the video. I carefully took it apart. Rewind and pause the video to see my finger placement.
Hi already follow your instruction but still cannot fix my radio. Is it my radio need to replace?
Thanks for watching.
If all instructions were followed, I suggest taking it to Hyundai and see what's next.
I have a 0'10 sonata and the radio would keep turning off and on started about 2 days ago and today fully shut off so would it be the fuse aswell ? or a electrical problem
Thanks for asking. You situation sounds more of an electrical problem. Or the head unit may be going out altogether.
Great work bro
Cheers mate!
just like chris fix😅😁
JCM Fix at your service. Thanks for watching. Salamat sa panood.
Hi great video 👍. My Getz’s radio screen will show the word ”Hyundai” but won’t play any music, switch to radio etc. might that be a fuse issue? Many thanks
I see.
Check your fuses and see.
I hope you can figure it out.
Hey Henry! Did you find a solution to your problem? My Elantra shows "MP3 Player" for a second and then goes blank, fuses looked okay
@@mariomassur6809 what worked for me was to reset the radio by disconnecting then reconnecting the car’s battery. Hope that helps 👍
Thank you broo
Anytime.
Purchased a used Hyundai that had an aftermarket stereo installed. Aftermarket stereo was taken out before I got the car factory stereo was put back in. Factory stereo after being reconnected will not function. Which told something about an anti-theft deterrent that I have to have a code to enable the stereo again. This possibly true or what
True.
Take it to a Hyundai dealership and you will pay a small pittance for you to obtain the theft deterrent radio code.
Hi How are you my dear friend... I have a problem with my 2003 Accent car.. I have a very loud engine sound, and I also have some malfunctions in the radio, as well as in the speed indicator and the petrol indicator.. I hope to cooperate with me ...

I'm having a similar issue but the fuse isn't blown, when I plug the adapter back in I can enter the code but there is no sound, then I'll turn the van off and back on and there's nothing on the screen again. Any ideas?
It sounds like your radio is needing to be read it's last rights. I don't know for sure but it sounds like it's dying.
Our 2014 radio will lose all volume while making a quick turn. We'll change the channels several times, and it'll eventually come back on. This started happening after an emissions test.. ??
Yikes. That's wild. I have no idea.
hi, I have 2010 Elantra. my radio comes on but there is no sound even it shows its playing something. I tried pulling out the fuse but no luck. Can you please advise?
Sorry you are having issues. There could be a myriad of reasons why it is no longer producing sound. You may have a defective head unit.
pliz got the santa fe 2019 and have the same problm blackscreen radio and the radio wont turn on but i cant find the yellow fuse can you help me pliz for the love of christ dnt have enough now to go to the dealership^thanks you
You maybe have a newer system with a screen. Maybe the LCD needs to be replaced.
But you if are wanting to look at the fuse panel again, it's not about the color of the fuse. It's about the function of the fuse.
Look at the diagram on the fuse panel cover and try to do what I did in my video to your car according to the diagram and the function of the fuses in relation to the head unit.
i have a 2013 elantra, the on/off switch in the internal fuse box barely works to get my radio/clock back on now (& locking/unlocking with the remote wont work and also the ones on the door unless i can get my radio on) 😭 the car wont start at random times, unless i switch some relays around or get a jump & even then it may or may not work. do you have an idea of what the problem could be ?
(ive checked the fuses & theyre good, shop thought it was the starter so it was replaced, but when i went to pick it up it wouldnt start again & is like its completely dead)
@@arialmoore7715 I'm not sure. It seems like you have some electrical gremlins. Has this car ever been in a flood? If you got it used, do you know it's full history?

what else could be wrong? i have an aftermarket radio it turned on then it turned back off. i check all fuses and they seem fine. i also checked all the connections and theyre all good too. i bought abother radio thinking the unit was fried but it did the same thing. it rurned on and imesiately turned back off. i double checked the fuse and theyre all good. this is driving me crazy.
Check your connections. Is it possible there is a short in the power wires?
My renault megane ba 1998 radio won’t turn on. How do i find the fuse
Great question...
Is this the same fix for a 2013
I am not sure if this will work for the next generation. You could always try and see if you wanted to.
My 09 sonatas(49,000 garaged and babied) radio started shorting out recently. I've never experienced this with any radio. My fuses looked ok. Haven't checked the one on the back of the deck yet ..
That sucks. I hope the unit isn't showing signs of going out. Please Google this issue and see what others say for your year range.
My 09 became very hard to see for a long time with the liquid crystal bleeding throughout the display and yesterday it just didn't turn on. My fuses are good, so the head just died. Guess it's time for a much nicer aftermarket unit!
@@DaveHonklesSorry that happened to you.
Yes! There are many aftermarket double din head units with Android installed that can fit in your 2009 Hyundai Sonata.
@@JCMFix do the steering wheel controls work with aftermarket radios?
@@cornholius Yes indeed! Normally you have to twist or solder the two Brown cables from the Chinese head units to the two native wires dedicated to the steering wheel control, then go into the Android head units settings menu and train the unit to recognize the presses.
It's actually pretty easy.
I have a 2019 GTELANTRA my screen went blank and I don’t see the fuse to switch out
A 2019 fuse maybe in a different location. Also, it's new. The functionality maybe totally different.
I hope you can fix it soon.
Alright, but what if it isn't any fuse at all? Because thats the issue im having right now
Then the head unit most likely is bad. 😞
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Merci.
Helped a lot! Thanks!!!
No prob
Mine come on every 3 weeks..Can that be fuse related?
That's weird. It could be many things. First start with changing the fuse (free cost). Then if it still keeps turning off, probably you have a defective head unit.
Mine had 2 spare fuses directly to the right of the audio fuse
Nice. Use them up.
Thanks for watching.
Front fuse box, same scenario to me when i full out the fusebox cover. Very annoying 😒
I hope you were able to get it fixed
I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra radio turns on just no sound what can this be?
Check your wires to the speakers (rarely goes out) and then the speakers themselves (possible blown but not all of them at the same time, so rare as well). If it turns on and there is still no sound, the head unit is probably defective and you may need a new one. If all else fails try to see if you can get a cheap junk yard unit from eBay or take a Saturday to physically go to one with your tools and remove one from a 2010 Elantra or another Elantra within the same generation. You got this. I know you can do it T.
@@JCMFix thank you so much!! I check the fuses and all are good, guess I have to try these next steps
@@tralesha1998 Good job checking the fuses. I hope you can find a solution.
How about if the fuse is not the problem?😢
Thank the radio might be toast. ☹️
Mine shuts off when it's cold. U guys have that problem? I can't figure it out
Yikes. I'm not aware of that.
How confusing.. I don’t believe in SPARE fuses I believe in misplaced fuses or incorrect engineering. I wonder where MY i30s secret on off switch can be found as it’s chewing at the entire car battery. If only the radio itself actually alerted us when and where to retune
I hope this video helped you overall and brought you to the right conclusion.
Hyundai i30???
Others who stated they have an i30 have had similar issues. This fix should work on the i30 has well if all the wiring is the same.
Alrighttttttt
I hope this video is helpful for you mate.
My radio turns on , but I don’t have any sound on the speakers
Head unit may be blown internally or the speakers themselves.
@@JCMFix that would make sense , It use to cut on and off when I hit a pot hole. I checked the wires and they’re fine . Looks like I might just have to replace it
@@Travrebel I hope this solution works out for you.
My radio does work but the sound does not
Are the speakers blown?
how the hell... a radio fuse could blow ??? it's a fucking radio not high amp device....
I know right. It's crazy.
Either way I'm happy it's a low cost/no cost fix in the end.
Thanks for watching.
I changed the fuse but after restarting the engine the radio doesn’t work again, the radio works only when I remove and insert the fuse again after the engine is started.
Yikes. That's super. Maybe ensure that new fuse is robust and up to spec like the OEM ones.
Then, check the other fuses that deal with the interior radio/a/c, etc and see if they are blown as well.
Also, change the new fuse you just used again to rule out if it is a dud.
@@JCMFix what other fuse deal with the audio?? My fuse isn't blown my radio turned on but now it doesn't I checked the fuse a couple months later and doesn't turn on
