@@xxEmeSiSxxhitting that pothole probably knocked a component off the board. Most likely it is a component in the power circuit or distribution in the boards, gotta check for continuity and probe for where the voltages should normally be (i.e. inductors, and caps) Schematics would obviously be the best to have but those are the main checks to look, then next step would be to check for shorts to ground. Good luck!

The radio in my rv wouldn’t turn on, for months! Today I watched your video and was able to see that I didn’t have power going to the red wire, traced it to the issue!! It’s an rv so it gets wired to the house battery in the back, I then realized it has another fuse back three so total 4 fuses cus the darn stereo had a fuse behind it too! When it finally turned It felt so good to have been able to figure it out, thanks to you!!! Excellent video. My 350Z radio just suddenly stopped working and I had no idea what to do except to take it to a car radio place to get a new radio. The sudden stop woking to me (who knows nothing) would suggest a blown fuse, since there is absolutely no power to the radio. No reason for the wires to be out of place. And the next thing would be the radio is bad. Since I have no skills like you, I will have to trust the car radio installers. Thanks for your help.

so i went to my near local radios shop to hook up everything for me with my new after market stereo and it worked for 2 months then the stereo stopped working. ( i think the watts on it were higher than the car can handle 80x4w )
my problem is with my constant/memory yellow wire it has 0 volts all the time no matter the car is running or not..
my red acc wire , black ground wire and the fuses on the car and the stereo are totally fine
please do you know how i can fix the yellow memory wire?

Hi there, thanks for sharing your useful knowledge. I tested the radio the way you mentioned and the constant(yellow wire) is giving a reading which fluctuates between 5.35-6.15 and with the power on(red wire) is giving me a steady reading of 13.4 volts. What's going on? The fuses are fine but the radio still won't turn on, I've tested another working radio and that one doesn't work either. Why is the constant value so low and fluctuating between 5.35-6.15? Could it be that the car battery in low on juice and won't allow the radio to come on?

The place that sold me the radio says to put the red wire and the yellow wire together (a bridge type connection). Do you think this connection will cause the car battery to discharge over time since perhaps this would cause the red wire to be receiving constant voltage from the car battery? Thank you!

I would need to grab my multimeter/ test light to test the wire as you have shown us. The radio has no power, even when pressing and turning all buttons on the radio itself. It is a factory radio I am trying to install since the seller gaved it to me stating it is working when he purchased it a while ago for a 2000 chevy cavaliar.

I connected the solid orange wire on both wiring harnesses together and tested the radio.
When I turn on the radio everything works but when I turn the head lights on in the car the raido turns off and shuts down. To fix the problem I just disconnected the two orange wires and it seems to work. I am also having a problem with the illumination wire on the radio harness. Most youtube videos say to connect this to the orange wire to dim the radio display. This does not seem to be the case with this. Since I disconnected the two orange wires, do you think I should connect the illumination wire on the radio harness to the orange wire on the GM harness which is currently not connected to anything?

I have pioneer avh-x2500bt, I get power when I cycle the key, deck lights up, then dies, sometimes it will work for a few weeks, then won’t work at all for light of time. I’ve had a few times hitting a bump in the road and it will shut off, I pull the deck and checked the harness, checked the speaker wires, everything is shrink wrapped and using merets. Car is 2006 Pontiac vibe with monsoon 7 speaker. There’s a amp under the seat… could this be a place to look?

Bro your videos are super helpful. I got a 2019 chr 1st car I am tuning it and doing body kit. I bought a Joying 10.1 head unit and the harness didn't fit so I contacted Joying and they sent me the correct one. I am not sure if it's going to work (crossing my fingers). The spaghetti wires are confusing and we are all trying to understand. You are a big help to us noobs. Thanks.

My baby daddy gave me this 05 chevy TB suv with a few problems. It has a cheap little radio with back up camera AND a remote alarm start up/off that he had rigged to the headlights!!!! So i had to start suv and turn lights on to hear radio 😒 & vise versa. Sooo....i wanted a mini speaker for a lil bass...so took it to my son and he undid the headlights and basically put that wire literally on a fuse under hood that shut off/on wit suv. Mini system sounded great! I WAS THRILLED!! When i go to pull off not only did the radio shut off in gear, but backup camera quit working and now my alarm kinda works backwards. ( alarm doesn't go off when set and door opens but when its closed. Oh lord!! I messed with it being a mechanic and hooked up some pinkish wire to the red wire that already had a red wire butted into it..but it works. But im no electric pro. So...now my radio still does not remain on when taken out of gear so only works in park. Not cool. And i think something about the polarity is backwards with my remote start alarm! Ive looked all day bc i could not get ahold of my kids or any shop to help me. Fuck im so confused an pissed af, i help everyone and the 1 time im in need theres no one. Im done out money for the speaker.my sons labor which i threw him but can you help or at least tell me wth to look to figure this mess out please?

We installed a new stereo into our Ford E-350 2012 12 passenger van and it would turn on but every time it did our dash would go crazy (tire pressure, gas gauge up and down, etc.) any ideas?
