everything about the 0:48 shot is truly amazing, the lighting choice at 0:48 is absolutely brilliant, it reflects revs darkened attitude towards Luigi's Mansion, the use of hands is also excellent as in pop culture isolated hands are often seen as a threat and have a frighting look, even the choice to make revs thumb look weird factors in here as he is giving a thumbs up, but his thumb is positioned in a way that it seems as if something is not right, absolutely brilliant rev amazing work again.
I also love the point u made about how realistically everyone liked the game and it’s not an underated obscure game. Thank u for pointing this out so many people act like them liking some mainstream widely lived game is some obscure unique opinion.
Yeah idk why it's so commonly referred to as underrated/obscure. It might be because people really like feeling unique in their opinions, but maybe it's just a misconception.
Cant believe i had to stop by a small youtuber to get an honest review but i think ur holding a little back just to not piss off the majority who bought this game lol
I've been pretty interested in the Luigi's mansion series over the years, however I've never gotten around to playing it. This review has made me lean more towards trying the original rather than the 3rd one. Great video rev, this truly is an in depth review.
I absolutely recommend playing the original rather than 3rd. The original is a much better game and is basically a classic at this point, and it's pretty short too so it's not a huge time investment. Though I think that you should also play LM 3 at some point as well, because even though there were things I didn't like it was still a very solid game and I think it's worth your time, especially if you end up enjoying the first game.
I’m really surprised with how much praise this game has got by a lot of people because when I played it, I had the exact same grievance as you, the ghost catching mechanic is way too easy and it is the main thing you do in the game. Because you do the same thing every single time when catching a ghost, this game starts to get boring real quick which is quite a shame because like you said, there are a lot of great aspects and it’s clear that a lot of effort went into this game, but the dumb-down ghost mechanic really does ruin the experience
Yeah in most reviews I watched in preparation for this video they kinda just glossed over that aspect which I found to be pretty strange. I think people just didn't notice, which is fair considering that this is "an in depth review of...", but it's still peculiar how this huge portion of the gameplay isn't being critiqued by most reviewers. I'm at least glad it's a thing that some others noticed as well.
The dark and creepy aspect of the first I think should of been implemented in the 3rd one which would of been flawless but it looks like they went with the kiddy and bland version of Dark Moon.
Glad to see someone criticize the game amidst all the praise. It’s not terrible but I just thought there were more problems with it that unfortunately bogged down the experience. The pacing in this video was great, you gave good and quick explanations behind your criticisms, and even had a few entertaining edits every now and then! Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! When making videos I always want things to feel snappy and connected, so I tend to quick switch between topics based on some sort of loose segue. I sometimes worry that it's annoying for people to watch, but hey hearing you like it makes me very optimistic.

You know a video is gonna be good when it starts with breaking bad music.
Btw the "cat level" is literally what happens in Dark Moon with the white ghost dog....you have keep chasing him lol

Wierd how tastes vary. To me the first one was qay to short and linear so it's only a 7/10. This game is something like 9.3 for me.
This game is basically just a better dark moon
Damn i dodged a bullet almost buying this game. Im interested in challenging myself lol This game is overrated.
